We came here for a birthday and it was a bit of a mixed experience. Service was very average and it took a long time for them to even take our order - which was for hotpot. It then took ages for the soup base to arrive and the ingredient dishes to follow. One was missing and so we then had to chase that one. The air conditioning wasn't working well and so two of our party got a free facial all night long! We also ordered a thai dish which took again took ages and when we chased that up, it came straight away but was cold and congealed. We sent it back (with no issues) and a new dish came out, which was excellent. I really want to like this place and might give it one more go.

Popped in to Chalida hotpot after watching the Chinese New Year celebrations in China town. Prices were reasonable, food was ok nothing to write home about however we were extremely disappointed with the slow service ... it wasn’t too busy considering they had enough staff ratio to tables but they more interested in talking to each other than to their customers. We had decided on the hotpot which states free soup refill as the hot pot was fast drying up ... asked 4 times to 4 different staff - soup top up never did come we had to make do what soup we had left in the pot which was bear minimum !!! We were not informed where about the sauce station for the hotpot, had to ask ... the black box with the chop sticks, cutlery, napkins were not top up again had to request for more napkins etc ... the table was very small to sit 5 for a hotpot. Attentive Staff improvement is very much needed.

Stopped by here with family while we were out enjoying the Chinese New year celebrations. Although they were a little busy, the gentleman ensured we got a table within a reasonable time. Our order was taken in a timely manner and the waitress checked with us if we were ok to have all our food come out together rather than just starters first. This may have been to buy some extra time as it did take a while for the food to arrive. Food was well presented and cooked well. Tasted good, nothing to complain about there. The only issue I have, service was a little poor. Staff know what they are doing and service is provided with a smile. It is simple little things that seem to let the place down. Perfect example, there is a box on the table that contains cutlery - this was not refreshed so we had to ask for cutlery. My point is, when clearing the table and preparing for the next guests, shouldn't this have been checked? Next, when our food came out, we ordered a mixture of items, some which is advertised for sharing in the menu. There were no plates provided so we waited assuming the waitress would come back with them. 10 minutes later we found ourselves having to ask for plates, again, simple little things like that seem to let the place down. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would go back again.

Ate here two nights in a row during the busy Christmas time with family while visiting London. The manager was extremely helpful and told us everything we needed to know about the different Thai dishes and how to best enjoy the Hot Pot. The variety of condiments to make our sauces for the Hot Pot was amazing!

So I went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were swathes upstairs. The ambience was lovely and it had a great vibe. We didn’t understand the hotpot menu so that was explained well. The servers were a little slow and they really didn’t care much. The food was delicious. I would recommend the hot pot and especially the Tom yum broth. We had a great time and I would go back again.

Found this restaurant by chance and was pleasantly surprised. Restaurant was quite busy,however,we were seated quickly upstairs. Music upstairs was a wee bit loud for my liking but was bearable. Some seats were stained with food or liquids, management will need to tidy/clean this aspect up a little. Staff were attentive and answered our questions regarding dietary requirements. As we were in a rush we only ordered the Thai green curry with rice, ho fun noodles with beef and morning glory. All three dishes were really tasty and satisfying! Bill came to approx £31 including service charge. We didn't order drinks. Will be visiting again if in the area.

We decided to eat here as the menu displayed outside looked nice and it seemed quite busy. However, after we were seated we were not served for 20 minutes. After attempting numerous times to attract the attention of the staff, we finally asked a waitress if we could order. She left to go upstairs and then came back only to serve another table! By this point it had been around 30 minutes and even though I have never left a restaurant before, we decided to leave. We felt very disrespected and ignored as paying customers.

My visit was unsatisfying, not only because of tasteless food, but also we waited for 30 minutes caused by a misunderstanding. The staff was rude and kept on blaming us for the misunderstanding.The prices was way to high and portions very little. I would diffently not recommend the place.

We walked by looking for a quick lunch between meetings. We were seated immediately. The green curry with prawns included a generous number of prawns, cooked perfectly. The pad see ew was also quite nice. They have a make-your-own sauce bar area that was fun. Would definitely return.

Restaurants have different ways of serving food: take away, self service, standard service, and food cooked at your table. Halida has added a fifth: cook it yourself! For Thai hot pot you orders huge bowl of broth, choosing anything from one to four different flavours, and then bowls of stuff to stir into it and fish out when it is cooked. For this vegan meal for six we choose both mushroom and tomato broths, two types of mushrooms, tofu and every veg on the menu, which included potato and carrot. These last two needed a lot of cooking: this is not the place for people in a hurry. As for spices, you choose your own sauces, chili, garlic ginger and herbs from the buffet and add your own. These come free of charge, as do top-ups for the broth. Three hours later we were full, and best of all, the food on the hob on our table was still piping hot. Only complaint was that the Jasmine tea was a tea-bag, not the real thing. But this was a minor blemish to an excellent meal.

I very rarely write a poor review as I believe that most restaurants try their best in a very competitive market, with limited margins but on this occasion I just can't bite my tongue. Chose the restaurant due to its location and menu looked good. Sat down and it was day 2 for the waitress who struggled with their systems but that was fine as she was cheerful and we were understanding. What made it awful was we waited about an hour for both our starters and main course to arrive all at once and all stone cold. We explained the situation and no attempt at an apology from the manager who was clearly under pressure, just rudeness and made me feel like it was our fault somehow. No trying to placate us as customers either. In the end we decided not to wait and left, a first for me! I think the restaurant is understaffed, can't cope with the evening rush and new staff don't get the training and support they need. They also need to learn that it's about customers first, always in the restaurant business.

Worst customer service ever seen! Stood in waiting area for a table for 10 mins when there were so many empty seats at the back. After getting a table non of the staff members came to us to ask us for our orders. Waited 30 mins and then decided to walk out and eat else where. Tried to call the staff but was totally ignored!! Such staff shouldn’t be working there. Total disgrace!

The service was alright, the food was not the best, took them a while to take the order and you need to wait a long time to get your food. I was here with a friend, we waited around 40 min for them to bring the order and to tell me they don’t have the dish I had ordered, so while my friend was finishing her food alone, I waited another 30 min for my food to arrive. Basically we ate seperately, spent more time waiting than eating. Maybe the hotpots are nicer, but the mains came cold and the starters are way overpriced.

I was there for hot pot, the stock taste not to bad but the speacial meat platter and pork only platter is like in the picture, how much pork with fat you can possibly put in the plate for me. the pork only platter with all the cut mix with fat and the mix meat speacial is 4 beefs beers sliced fews chicken and lots of pork with fat in there again so both plate just give me the fat meat. I can understand if some of then but not the whole plate. I asked the waiter about the meat we order but that it,Vegetable set look smaller than the picture. I foud better place and better quality with the same sort of price. Waste the money never be back again

With all the competition around, the good reviews led us here. We didn't want the hotpot but a selection of Thai dishes (tapas as advertised), and were therefore moved to a table where the hot plate was broken so another couple could use ours. Fair enough We ordered fairly quickly but after 20 minutes we had to prompt the waiter to get our drinks. A sprite and Singh's beer so not complicated. A further 15 minutes to wait for our food.
