Central Fish Bar in South Holland

Chips were awful. Cold and dry. Very disappointing. Had bought here previously and was nice. Shame that the standards seem to have gone down

First visit last night and it won’t be the last! We had the best fish and chips we have ever eaten. The cod was white and flaky and the batter was crispy and delicious it came with a huge portion of piping hot chips. My only criticism is the portions are just too big. Next time we will share

Best fish and chips ever. Clean well presented, and loads of it. Lovely So much better than before. Fish proper white inside, and batter crispy to perfection.

we called on our way home from spalding and ordered fish and chips twice, we intended to sit in our car and eat them. the owner said go back to you car and when they are cooked we will bring them over. they were the best fish and chips we had had for years, the chips were crispy and the batter again perfectly cooked, I would recommend you call and try them. 5 star

Absolutely horrendous service. Food was average. Would not use again. No idea about customer service. Better chip shops in Holbeach.

Chips were lovely but greesy pie was not cooked inside and battered sausage was only half cooked ...

Last minute decision for chips for three of us on a Monday evening. Fantastic! Great food and lots of it!

The food was horrible. The chips had a weird flavour to them and made me feel sick. Will not be returning

Been ordering on and off from here for a while, The food is really great and tasty and well portioned. The staff are excellent. Helpful and friendly. We telephone our orders through so we can pick up quicker than standing in a queue.

Prices for all food has gone up by 10 %+. This makes a portion of chips nearly same as a piece of chicken! If the chip were the same every week i wouldn't mind paying the extra but they are not I'm afraid. They were dry and sad last night. Sorry to make this review bad but quality of chips needs a big improvement. FISH & OTHER FOOD WAS GREAT.

Worst fish & chips ever We have had fish & chips many times and normally nice, but we ordered early just after opening, I think they gave us rock hard fish & shrivelled disgusting chips! I think they must of been left over from the lunchtime & just left being kept warm! ended up throwing most of it away, we wont be returning again!!!!!

If you want to wait 30mins for a poor fish and chips at best this is your place, if not don't waste your time or money. Tonight's chips were hard, mushy peas stone cold and fish luke warm. If anyone out there has a few quid and half a brain, open a decent chippie in holbeach and you would close Central over night.

we have come to this nice small market town of Holbeach for a look round and as it is now dinner time thought ok think we will have the very best Fish and Chips in Holbeach and so we park the car out side and my support worker takes my order and puts on her mask and gets out of the car and stands in line 2 meters apart ready to place our order and then go back into the car until she is called for our order and pay for it we then sit in her car and eat it as no place is allowed to have customers inside and sit down for a meal

only the places who sell food and things needed by the PUBLIC are allowed to open by LAW and all Cafes and Restaurants can only open for TakeAways no one is allowed to go and sit down at the tables we were there today Friday 20-11-2020 like all cafes ect you have to put a face mask on and sanitize your hands then go to counter and place your order and pay for it then wen ready it is bought to you while you wait outside the fish and chips and staff are great

I visited the chip shop in August as we had an under 30 people event we had 25 people to feed whilst we we camping. I rang the chip shop 1 hour before to take an order for 25 people they was so polite on the phone and quick and didn’t get anything wrong. It was all ready within 1 hour once I got their it was all ready and quick to go. Michelle and Trish do a fantastic job of running the chip shop best chippy in the world and I’ve been to a lot of chip shops in my time.

lovely fresh fish and chips and giant battered sausages! Be careful about the opening times though or you mught be dissapointed.

a very nice warm welcome awaits you and a nice chat in this very nice clean restaurant the food is fresh and you have a very good choice of menu the staff are very good and helpfull if you want a take away there is a area with chairs for you to sit and wait for your order and yes we will both be back soon P.S. Really lovely chips and peas, didn't do peafritters tho, but sausages are good quality, best chips I've had in agaes

This shop embraces everything that is right about fish and chips. The food is always of a high standard, there is no nonsense, the menu is simple and covers all the basics. They don't sell kebabs or Pizza and that is a good thing as what they do they do very well indeed.

a very nice clean place and great food and a very good menu to choose from the food is fresh cook for you the staff are very good and nothing is any trouble we will be back in the new year

ok if you like Fish and Chips or quite a good menu for something else well why not try Central Fish Bar a very nice clean place nice and bright with a warm welcome within you can sit in or have a take away and if you have a take away there is a seating area while you wait for your order very nice staff fresh cook food and you will find that nothing is to much trouble

ok back hear a very nice little cafe very clean great staff just one thing a big steo at the door but if ask they can put a ramp up for you they have eating in or takeaway if you have a takeaway there is part of the cafe with chairs so you can sit while they get your order it as quite a good menu and must say they dont take cards must be cash sorryP.S. I GIVE THIS CAFE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

When you treat yourself to fish n chips only very occasionally you hope to enjoy it.This evening our fish and chips were only just warm...fish was tasteless (cod) batter was awful ..not a bit crispy...what’s going on when a fish shop that’s been here for years produces this disappointing food. Henry’s is further away but worth going a bit further..the dog and cat enjoyed it though

Just like title says! Consistently the best fish and chips in town. Michelle and staff are friendly and nothing is ever a problem will always cook to order even when it's near closing time.

ok if you in Holbeach and want a nice meal to have inside or takeaway and want something different than fish and chips why not go into the cafe mind the two big steps though and look at the black board on the wall inside the cafe it as two big steps and two grab bars one each side of the door i was told that if you want they can put a ramp over the steps so you can get a wheelchair in and out if you want a take away there is a seated part were you wait for your order

Went in with the kids and wife for a quick lunch. Lovely service and chips as good if not better than Hunstanton. Great stuff!

not bean hear for awhile as iwe was in Holbeach isaid ok Central Fish Bar for dinner a very nice clean place they have a very good menu both on the wall and on the tables only one thing i find hard and that is the big stem up at the door though i bean told by the staff they if askt can cover it with a ramp each side the door there is two grab rails these i have to use as dissabled they do also a take away and the take away is sepperate from the restaurant part it as chairs so you can sit while they are doing your order (ect)the food is nice and hot and coockt fresh as i say it is very clean that why i keep going back and the food is very good they if you ask will do a small plate but as i said its up to you to tell them wen they take your order

Had cod and ships here, never again, the fish batter was gooey and not crisp at all, it was oily, no taste to the fish and chips were edible. I did not enjoy it and later had chronic indigestion.

ok back hear again good old fish and chips but they have a very good selection of things to choose from like chicken breast proper chips and beans and a mug of coffee that what I had today as soon as you go in you get a warm smile from one of the staff Michelle Moffat and she takes your order that is if you sitting down inside café or take away inside the café you will find that the café is split into two part sitting area for take away and 2nd part for tables and chairs a very Excellent place to sit in and enjoy a very big menu to choose from they have new tables and chairs and it is so very clean it is nice and bright and you if you like can add or take away things from the menu

ok a Friday before of to car-boot think we go and get some dinner now not bean hear for awhile so as it was open we both went in if disabled like me please take care of a big step out side door though it as two grab rails 1 each side of the door you can if you wish call for some one to help you in and out and if need be they can add a ramp over the stem for wheelchairs they have quite a good menu on the wall and on the tables it is a very clean place plenty room to move around it also as a sitting area and a take away part with seats while you wait for your take away you will find all the staff very help full and even a smile from Michelle Moffat who works there if you like you can change the menu to what you would like the food ect very good and the food fresh and hot we will be back soon

I used to live in Holbeach and was a regular customer, now when we visit Holbeach, always make a point of going into the restaurant for some superb fish and chips, portions are good and you can taste the sea in the freshness of the sea, want the best in Holbeach, this is the place to be.

ok first in the front door you will find a high concrete step but if you ask the staff will put a ramp over it so you can get a wheelchair in it as a very good menu very clean and if you dont like something on the menu they will give you something else nothing I find is any trouble for the staff it isa very nice bright café side a main road

ok in Holbeach we as been before go to the Central Fish Bar FIRST THINGS OUT SIDE THE FRONT DOOR WERE YOU GO IN A BIG CONCRETE STEP it has two hand rails grabs to hold onto can not get whellchairs or mobiloty scooters in so just thought better to let you know it very clean place quite a large manu to choose from menus on the tables but also a bigger size menu on the wall you if you like can ask for a smaller size meal every thing coockt fresh and brought to the tables for you nice staff very friendly
