Our recent dinner at Cedar Restaurant within The Langley A Luxury Collection Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the ambiance to the service, everything set the stage for what turned out to be a memorable gastronomic experience. We indulged in a delectable assortment of dishes that tantalized our taste buds. The Tartare in pomegranate aspic was a refreshing start, with the fennel shavings adding a delightful crunch, perfectly complemented by the sourdough crisp. Moving to the mains, the Apulian style fresh pasta was an authentic taste of Southern Italy, with the cime di rape and anchovies providing a lovely bitter and salty balance that was softened by the creamy burrata, while the tomato and chili gave it just the right kick. The star of the show, however, was the Pan fried loin. Admittedly, we approached this dish with a hint of skepticism, concerned it might be too rich and heavy. To our pleasant surprise, it was divine. The black truffle elevated the dish without overpowering it, and the swiss chard and hazelnut puree added depth and texture. The red wine and juniper berries jus was a masterful stroke, infusing the loin with a complex, yet not overwhelming flavor. Every dish was a testament to the chef's expertise in balancing flavors and textures. We left Cedar Restaurant thoroughly impressed and deeply satisfied. It's rare to find a place that not only meets but exceeds expectations on all fronts, and for that, Cedar Restaurant at The Langley deserves all the accolades.

My recent dining experience at Cedar restaurant was outstanding. I savored the exquisite spaghetti alle vongole that simply made my day; despite the rain, their incredible flavors reminded me our Easter trip to the Amalfi Coast where I had it every single day! The service was impressively swift, and the presentation of every single dish was visually stunning. This place was recommended to us from a friend and I definitely agree with him in saying that despite being a bit pricey, if you're willing to indulge a bit, this restaurant offers a dining experience that's well worth it!

Special Birthday lunch organised by my Daughter. We were greeted on arriving in a friendly & professional manner. The menu was excitingly different to usual offerings. Our food was well presented, great flavours & piping hot. Their staff were polite & informative & very helpful with allergies, especially the gentleman from Napoli. Looking forward to another visit.

As part of the spa package I had lunch here. I had a 3 course menu which was £50, including breadsticks and chocolates. The squid in tomato sauce was delightful and the tiramisu was lovely. The beef main was slightly tough which I think was due to be selection of rice he cut of beef, nevertheless the main was enjoyable and cooked medium rare. The dishes worked well together and I was far too full for the chocolates, which I asked to be packaged. I was led to my seat, seat pulled out, even something to place my handbag was brought to me and I was told what was halal (my dietary requirements). Very accommodating. I was peacefully sat at the window seat feeling relaxed and the waiter V was so attentive. There was a rude middle aged man then sat near me. He proceeded to call someone on the phone and talk loudly, completely ruining the relaxed ambience. What manners to call someone on your mobile phone at the table….take the call outside! He could not comprehend the concept of a set menu. Demanded a smoked salmon platter. Demanded bread and was not happy with the breadsticks, so a whole boule was especially baked for him. He threw his toys out the pram but the waiter (Italian chap V) dealt with it very well. In my opinion the waiter was far too accommodating to this petulant immature man. They should of just asked him to leave. I left £10 for the service charge, I hope this rude demanding man left far more because the staff deserve it. Lovely lunch at the Langley.

This was our second visit to this fantastic restaurant, reached along a long narrow drive of rolling green fields. Entering the car park at the front of the hotel, situated around a glorious fountain, the selection of guest cars is an indication that whatever waits within is going to be premium. Arrived and escorted to the terrace, the table was ours for the evening. Service was on point, courteous, attentive but relaxed. We'd advised with our booking that we had a GF diner, the waiter knew and ensured she was well catered for, although most of the food was GF, surprisingly most of the desserts. From a very interesting selection of starters we opted for Octopus, which was very well cooked and Burrata. For mains we had Lamb and Rock Cod, all very well cooked. Desserts we chose 3 and shared, the best being the GF Tiramisu, outstanding. We finished the evening with a selection of Teas, the most disappointing element, not only had they sat and stewed for to long before arriving at our table, but we did not expect T Bags in an establishment of this class. No matter, overall it's still a 5 star review. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I ate here a number of times during our stay at the hotel. Delicious Italian food with a great selection of cocktails and wines. Exceptional service led by the head waiter and a highly experienced head chef who has apparently started recently at this restaurant. We would thoroughly recommend it!

Our daughter on secondment to Pinewood thought we'd treat on a visit. A very imposing grand building, if somewhat a little "cold". Staff were very attentive and helpful. We had some great cocktails in the bar followed by a sumptuous fine dining experience. We opted for the 7 course taster menu, which was a delight, our Daughter, who needs a Gluten Free option, was very well catered for. A great find, we will definitely return, when next in the area.

The surroundings are beautiful, the staff were attentive and friendly and the food - amazing. We opted for the taster menu at £75 per head but the perfect choice as we had 5 different courses to sample. My personal favourite - the duck, tender and full of flavour - a real treat.

I had lunch at the Cedar today with some friends for a long-overdue catch-up, and only one word describes the entire restaurant experience - bland. Whilst the grounds and the decor is indeed very pretty, the restaurant experience was entirely lacking in any single facet to match the luxurious surroundings. The food was nicely presented (but this is to be expected in a restaurant of this calibre so no brownie points here). However (apart from the tortellini starter), it was utterly flavorless. The John Dory main course was very fresh and I appreciate that fish can be ruined with too many heavy sauces and ingredients, but surely some taste is called for? We had the impression that the menu was all about subtlety of flavour but it was taken too far, with too much emphasis on overly clever combinations (e.g. fresh apple slices served with the fish, or potato gratin that was more of a deep fried rosti) that lacked any taste. (I must also add that the portions were rather small.) The dessert portions were larger and made up for the lack of taste in the starter and mains and I can recommend the coffee parfait but I wouldn't say that they made up for the disappointment in the first two courses. Finally, I must say that the blandest part of the experience was the staff. Though I can't fault their politeness, speed or efficiency in any way, they utterly lacked personality. There was no friendly chat, there was no ability to make any suggestions, they did not pick up on our comments about the taste of the food (made in their earshot). My seat was in direct sunlight and when I asked if the blinds could be lowered to block the light they scurried off to ask the manager (seriously!?) then didn't bother returning until I asked again at which point I was informed the blinds are in a fixed position. There was no suggestion made as to how to overcome the issue of blinding sunlight shining in my face! Obviously I moved but surely a more suitable response would have been something to the effect of, " I am sorry the blinds are fixed but would you like to move to another table, or I can move your place setting to the other side of the table?" Instead the waitress scurried off. Whilst they were probably excellent staff to have at your local pizza restaurant, they were not of a 5-star calibre. Please bear in mind we were the ONLY guests in the restaurant for nearly 3 hours, so they were not exactly rushed off their feet. Of course, to many this may appear to be an overly finicky complaint about staff but I do believe that a 5 star hotel must reflect 5 star luxury in every aspect of its services (it's more than opulent furnishings and beautiful grounds) and that includes, skilled and engaged staff who communicate professionally with guests and are able to pick up on little nuances and can make accurate assessments of how to make their guests comfortable. More often than not, its the staff who enhance the impression and experience of the guest and unfortunately this team were not up to the mark!

We visited Cedar for Sunday lunch on a beautiful sunny day and were able to enjoy the terrace with beautiful views. The menu reads wonderfully with interesting choices for a hotel restaurant. Flavours were wonderful and portions surprisingly generous! Fantastic service from the restaurant manager Stefano too.... We regularly eat at the Cliveden and Coworth Park, when we want to escape London and will add the Langley to our list. The restaurant is still fairly quite as they recently opened, but will for sure become busier if the standards are maintained. Grazie mille !!!

Very hard to know what to think about this restaurant. As a classy restaurant in it's own right it's definitely flawed. However, for a chain hotel restaurant (albeit at the top of the chain) it's very good if not exceptional. We had the tasting menu, which frankly did not work. Some of the dishes were far too large and filling for the 'long haul'. The balance of the meal just didn't work. I enjoyed most of the dishes, with the lobster and the scallop standing out. There were some failures though, with the lamb dish being very much over salted. The dish incorporates pecorino, so additional salting needs to be handled carefully. I'm not talking subtle points here, it was obnoxiously salty. Spoiled what should have been the highlight of the meal. The risotto was simply too much for a course on a tasting menu. Most of the wine pairings were good if not excellent. The lamb could have used a more characterful or assertive red. So, the tasting menu and the lamb were a failure, the rest very good indeed. If I could give it 3.5/5 I would. So 4/5 as the staff were good and took our negative comments in an appropriate and constructive fashion.

Graduation lunch for my daughter. What a fabulous experience From the moment I booked nothing was too much trouble. Cheese souffle, slow roasted pork with Armagnac & liqueurs for four. Utterly fabulous and would have no hesitation in recommending. First class meal.
