Came here after my friend recommended it, having had a good experience at the Mayfair location. Unfortunately the pastas were really poor. My spaghetti bolognese was really bland with no flavour. My friend's cacio o pepe was very salty. Thankfully , the waiter was able to switch the pasta for my friend , but the replacement that came was also poor. They took one pasta off the bill but unfortunately due to the poor quality, won't be dining here again.

I went to Cecconi with a friend for dinner, after a long time of not seeing each other, and we decided to have Italian food. We found the staff to be very skilled and professional. I specifically wanted to highlight the excellent service provided by Martina, Federica, and Mattia. The food was good, and the service was excellent. It was a lovely evening in a beautiful and welcoming place.

So many places to eat around Shoreditch, it can be hard to make the right choice! But if you are looking for authentic tastes of Italy, with a friendly atmosphere and a bit if buzz this restaurant is well worth seeking out… We booked in after another place, not to be named, sadly closed up and cancelled our reservation. And after a a bit of searching we chose Cecconi's and no regrets at all, can't fault the service, ambience and style of this lovely place. Such a warm welcome and a menu that had plenty of choices that tempted. Shared a few small plates and then it was mains time with a some very nice wine. Barbera Asti does not disappoint and neither did the pasta dishes. We took our time, never felt that the welcome was outstayed and left, full happy and off into the night with the flavours of Italy to remember. Hope to return…

Amazing dining experience! We went for the Sunday lunch feast. Lovely venue - really great atmosphere with nice live music. Service was very attentive - they brought us freshly cooked pasta and pizza - both of which were amazing. The buffet was great - great salads - seafood, beautiful lasagna and amazing Sunday roast options too. We sat down at 2.45 and there was plenty of food and it was being replenished all the time. Puddings amazing too! Loved it.

The restaurant has a beautiful interior and feels cosy in the evening especially. The staff is lovely and attentive. Food is reasonably priced and fairly good variety. Feedback to the restaurant: Linguine with crab and chilli is a simple dish and best served the way it says. Three simple ingredients with linguine tossed in olive oil with salt and pepper, garnished with diced fresh chilli or dried chilli flakes and crab meat. Thick tomato sauce covered linguine with crab meat is not what this dish is about. I have had this proper simple dish many times before and one from this restaurant was nowhere near the real recipe.

This place has drastically gone down hill, the food and service are not to the standard they once were. The restaurant was unusually quiet, I guess a lot of the regulars have also noticed that the quality has dropped here.

We chose this restaurant as me and my boyfriend love Italian food, wasn’t too far away from our hotel and had good reviews. The staff were nice and the service was quick. However, my boyfriend had lasagne and there was barely any meat in there but the main issue with it is that it was quite visibly burnt the top layer was like a rock and wasn’t that tasty. I had bolognese and this was yummy however the top pieces of pasta were cold and I finished it in 2 minutes as there wasn’t much there. We shared a chocolate fondant for pudding and that was really nice. We paid £72 for this meal which was quite expensive considering the food wasn’t that nice.

Soho house Greek street and White City visited both restaurants within the clubs this week. Food was disappointing and before even ordering told at 1.pm they’d run out of squid starter - Salmon - and a few other dishes on the menu. This happened in both venues and considering it was 1.pm confused as they run out of key dishes.

This place is pretty good if you choose wisely from the menu. Calamari and meatball starters are excellent. As is the seafood risotto. Avoid the spaghetti lobster as at £35, it’s immensely overpriced with probably about a quarter of a lobster in the entire dish. Wine list is similar - some gems on there such as the Alpha Zeta Chardonnay for £35 but the Alpha Zeta Amarone at £85 is about £20 overpriced. The digestives are excellent value. The coffee is good. The atmosphere is buzzy and the room is typically relaxed for the area. Service is prompt, polite, professional and very efficient. All in all, an excellent place for lunch and extremely good value if you avoid the expensive stuff - there’s no need anyway as this place does rustic Italian very well. We will be back.

Decided to try out the Shoreditch version of Cecconi's after many many visits to the Mayfair version and regretted this decision immensely. The vibe of the place felt tacky, the music was far too loud and made conversation across a small table very difficult without shouting. But the food - my gosh - what an incredible disappointment. The starters were mid at best, oily zucchini, calamari that were ok, relatively flavourless carpaccio. The pasta dishes were a disgrace, Tagliatelle with wild mushrooms that wasn't even cooked properly (lots stuck together and very starchy) and almost no mushroom flavour. I would imagine that a M&S microwaved pasta dish would be better. The lobster spaghetti was embarrassing for £32, with a sauce that might as well have come from a jar. The other pasta dishes were of similar quality. Seriously, don't waste your money, there are thousands of better places to go in London that this horrendous version of Cecconi's. It's put me off so much that I might never back to the Mayfair version.

Zucchini Fritti : the batter was completely soggy with oil, no crispiness whatsoever, and was falling off the courgette sticks. Bucatini all’Amatriciana : ridiculously salty sauce (and for context, I salt my food more than anyone I know) The guanciale was almost all fat with no texture other than rubbery. Profiteroles : looked and tasted like frozen food The casings were absurdly papery and insipid with incredibly ordinary ice-cream inside. Mocktail : no different from orange squash! I would have been happier with pure fruit juice. Ordering : annoying & unhelpful The waiter seriously took the menu out of my hand, to place it between the salt & pepper, for me to literally take it out AGAIN so that I could simply read what to order. After the waiter presented my drink, I asked him what ingredients were in it. The waiter said, “I don’t know! I didn’t make it.” Serving : embarrassing The waiter was cruelly putting down the runner audibly in front of us. Clearing : disruptive & uncomfortable I tried absorbing some of the excessive oil with my napkin and, when it was drenched, I discarded it on my empty plate. At this point the waiter picked up the dripping napkin in order to deposit it in front of me.

I don’t think this is the best venue for group bookings. The set menu was easy because it didn’t require a preorder but the food didn’t justify the per head cost. The starters were nice but there wasn’t much food (the starters are done as sharers). The mains were ok. The food wasn’t hot enough and some of the pasta dishes had so much garlic in them that you couldn’t taste anything else. The desserts were delicious and great sized portions. The staff were good but there weren’t enough of them. Some drinks were ordered and didn’t turn up etc. I’d probably return if it was just 2 - 4 people but no more than that

Beautiful decoration and amazing staff ! And what a beautiful food ! Cocktail and wine very good, truffle Arancini amazing and for the main course, veal Milanese and pizza was excellent ! For the dessert tiramisu perfect ! 150£ for 2 with drinks (cocktails + bottle red wine), starter, main and desert ! Super excited to come back ! Grazie !

Not being veggie I was dragged along with a couple of friends who are. I thought the food was rather good and did't miss my meat at all. I agree with some of the other reviews that a couple of the dished could have had a few more herbs thrown in, but they still tasted nice.

So following on from the discriminatory reception from the well known il Bordello restaurant nearby, we decided to try a different Italian restaurant, one not as well known except to the locals of Wapping or well reviewed but I am so grateful we found this place. It is genuinely a little gem situated opposite Tobacco Dock. There are old ships sitting in a dry dock so the view outside is pretty cool. We walked in and were immediately warmly welcomed and seated at our table. The people on the adjoining table were locals and mentioned how good the food was so that was very reassuring. We ordered from the starter menu the gamberoni e rucola (pan fried prawns, garlic chilli), cornetto di salmone (avocado and prawn mousse wrapped in smoked salmon) and burrata (with ham on a bed of rocket with a sweet glaze) All of which were exquisite. Mains consisted of a lobster linguine and a fettuccine al salmone. The lobster was unfortunately a tad over cooked but was bursting with flavour and the linguine and all its sauce was worth licking the plate for. The fettuccine my partner had was so rich and creamy I was in heaven with the taste I had. Desserts; just a tiramisu. It was so light and delicate but packed with flavour. Drinks consisted of a couple of rum swizzles and a mojito. If you like your tropical pineapple and coconut flavours then this is the one for you. I even took one to go. The mojito was very nice but just needed a tad more sugar for my palate. I also ordered an extra pizza to take away cos I had such a good time and loved the food so much. Portion sizes were very healthy, not American size but definitely substantial Service was brilliant. It got a bit busy halfway through our meal with lots of groups and families dining but we felt cared for and appreciated for our custom. Staff saw us out after we finished eating with smiles and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.
