Cave of Lanka in Kensington and Chelsea

We were staying in Earls Court and wanted an evening meal before taking our train home. Based on previous good reviews, and never having eaten Sri Lankan food before, we chose Cave of Lanka. What a great find! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The house wine was great and the food surpassed our expectations. It was so flavoursome and different from other cuisines, we loved it. Good sized portions, quick service and reasonably priced, we’d highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. The Special Cave-style chicken was especially delicious.

We went there on a whim with my boyfriend and we were pleasantly surprised. It was excellent ! The owner is very friendly and the food is really delicious. The portions are sufficient and the prices correct. We will happily come back one day!

Booked a table a couple of months ago. Got confirmation. Arrived at restaurant during our London visit to find the place closed. No communication whatsoever. Thankfully there's a nice pub opposite which does food.

What a wonderful gem we stumbled upon on our first nights in London. Danny, San and his team are wonderful! The food is so delicious and the wine never disappoints! Great company any night we’re there. A must see!

Fantastic food and service, fresh ingredients freshly cooked, good choice of wine. Danny and his friend looked after us. No beer or spirits available but wasn’t a problem. Would recommend

Service was very good. Food was amazing!! Menu is not extensive but to me that indicates they do a small amount of dishes very well. Not familiar with Sri Lankan food I left it up to the server to suggest dishes. He did not disappoint. Everything was incredible even down to the side accompaniments. Full of spice and flavour. Had the beef first and then ordered the chicken. The eggplant was amazing. The shaved curry coconut was amazing. Unfortunately it was our last night in London. Wish we'd come here sooner. Highly recommend a visit if you are in Earls Court area.

Nice friendly staff, chilled vibe Also is a winebar so they have a good selection of wines available. The dishes were tasty, good flavours and portion sizes. Would absolutely recommend

When you can smell that amazing Sri Lankan spices and seasoning- always warm welcome they will go into what you like and what you do not agree with! Then the amazing wine menu at reasonable price- atmosphere and hospitality is five star without a doubt will bend over backwards to suit your requests- as for amazing food that come out tasty tasty say no more thank you cave of Lanka for always accommodating to my needs expectations ❤️great crowd for late night quality wine or champagne Prosecco 🤗😋😋😋also great little basement wine bar it hidden away but great Sri Lankan in west London must visit adios

Behind our hotel, hidden in a basement we found this lovely restaurant. The menu was attractive to us and we decided to try this food we never ate. The waiter kindly asked us how strong we wanted our dishes and voilà. Really tasty, very happy to have try Sri-Lanka food. Price was totally correct for the large course we chose. Definetely a good place to eat.

There are many Indian restaurants in West London but few Sri Lankan. This one is a little gem. Delicious authentic food - the prawn curry with sides and an egg hopper was superb plus charming service.

I just moved to Earls Court, I found this wonderful place, from outside the place looks like a Wine bar, small and cute. I went inside,... The wine is impressive, try the Claret Bordeaux 2013. The food is fresh and authentic, the friendly owner Danny, will suggest you one of his best dishes from Sri Lanka. Try the king prawns curry , it comes in small plates, rice, salads, and more in a tray...( You will not be disappointed). The music at the background, gives you a relaxed atmosphere. I will certainly go back.

We discovered this restaurant on our arrival in London and liked it so much we went back 4 days later. The host is very attentive and the food is excellent.

We were lucky enough to stumble across this cosy little bar late in the evening after having queued for 13 hours to see our late Queen lying in state. The warm welcome we received was so much appreciated, as we arrived feeling tired, hungry and emotional at the end of such a momentous day. We were soon enjoying the most delightful Sri Lankan meal, which was both delicious and plentiful. All the ingredients were very fresh, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. I had the spicy prawns which were absolutely delicious and my husband chose the tuna curry which was beautifully flavoursome. We loved the little pots of accompaniments that went with the main dishes too. The food was fabulous and the staff couldn't have looked after us any better. Thank-you so much.

We doubt this restaurant somewhat by accident as it’s close to Earls Square but not obvious. Food and service was very good. Small place but good.

In wandering around searching for another restaurant that turned out to be defunct, we stumbled upon Cave of Lanka and decided to give it a try. The food and wine were both fabulous; the service as well as helpful and friendly staff will definitely make us repeat customers. We have never eaten Sri Lankan food, but are now fans. Highly recommend this place. Great vibe.

Fresh, authentic sri lankan food! This is the place to go if you’ve never tried it before. Staff are super kind and the restaurant itself is very nicely decorated. The wine bar aspect is a bonus!

A proper little find. The decors good the music's nice and very relaxing. I had the tuna. Probably the best dinner Ive had in months. Also it has a fantastic selection of great wines and, of its location is pretty inexpensive. Can't fault it in anything couldn't recommend it more.

What a great little place this is. A cosy room with smiling staff and delicious food. The hoppers and pork curry were very authentic and tasty and reminded me of a recent visit to Sri Lanka. Danny the owner was patient and charming as he recommended what to have. His assistant was also lovely and helpful and the food was first class.

I had accidentally found this restaurant while walking in the area and as I have never eaten Sri Lankan food before I thought I'd give it a try. In 10 years I have been living in London this is one of the nicest food I have had in my life. I had the King Prawn curry with sides coconut sambol, rice, dhal and roti and a glass of white wine. Every single thing I tried was a parade of flavours in my mouth. The curry was very nicely spiced, relatively on the hot side but was absolutely the best thing for a cold day. The rice was cooked to perfection. Finally as I enjoyed the food so much I indulged my self to a dessert which was called wattalapan. As with the main dishes this was outstanding. The service was amazing with the head waiter (I think owner) being very accomodating and friendly in explaining anything on the menu. I will definitely highly recommend the place and canotn wait to bring some family and friends to try it. It is rather new place so I hope it continues being as excellent as it is now and does not drop down in service over time. Keep up the good work.

This is a small restaurant located in Earls Court not far from the station ( 100m ) . Good wine selection and food is very good. Hosts are excellent and the meals are inexpensive.

What a find! Happened to be walking passed the place and decided to pop in as we love Sri Lankan food. Had the prawns as I’d already eaten but couldn’t resist and they were lovely. The owner couldn’t do enough for us. Quirky place mixing a wine bar and Sri Lanka cooking but strangely works. Definitely worth a visit and we’ll certainly be heading back next time we are in the area. Best Sri Lankan food I’ve eaten in England so far.

Spent a few weeks in Colombo and loved the people and food, discovered this restaurant in Earl's Court, fantastic fresh food and great ambiance. Owner was very helpful in choosing the recommending the dishes. Highly recommended, the wine wasn't bad either.

The food is wonderful and the spices are perfect. My whole family fell in love with this cozy, comfy, relaxed place. The staff if so helpful and kind. When we sat down it felt like home. I ate around 7 of their fantastic roti and highly recommend the string hoppers. Not only the string hoppers I recommend the whole place.

Fantastic Wine bar with a great wine selection and horderves while lounging in a pleasant environment with a relaxing ambiance. Danny, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable with his wine suggestions. I could imagine the location is relatively easy to miss, but once you stumble in, you won't be disappointed that you did. Fantastic crackers, cheeses, and meat selections. Highly recommend. 5 Stars.

First time trying Sri Lanken food in this cute little find and I am in love. My favourite dish was the Dallo Maluwa. So much flavour. Delicious.

This small restaurant is a discovery! Really special fresh Sri Lankan food cooked with exciting ingredients...easily the best tuna curry and the best daal I've ever had. There were really exciting off-menu choices too, can't wait to come back!

Wow this is a beautiful place with wines and very delicious food. The atmasfier is really really great like a little chateau in South of France. I'll be there again for sure.
