Excellent customer service from young but very friendly staff. We underestimated time before our coach trip back to Belfast was due to depart, so the lovely staff wrapped up cakes and drinks to go which was very much appreciated.

The main reason we parked here is that it's much cheaper than the National Trust car park. We went down to the Giants Causeway, got there by 9.30 am and it was fairly quiet, came back up by bus £1 each way per person and went to the hotel for brunch. The £10 parking fee is redeemable against food/drink. What makes this place is the staff, especially Monique who was wonderful, helpful, friendly and everything that someone working in hospitality should be. Thank you Monique it was a pleasure to meet you.

The hotel needs a lot of investment. Rooms are basic & clean. Almost the entire interior is painted grey including the bedrooms which does not match the character of this old hotel. A real shame as it’s a nice old building in a fantastic location. We only had breakfast but what we saw of the food it looked good. Staff need to be a bit more attentive or have a senior member managing tasks.

I feel a bit mean writing this having read some of the reviews but I was really disappointed. Having used the hotel regularly when the Armstrong's owned it I think I expected too much. The hotel doesn't have the same homely feel about it since the national trust took over it's definitely about making money. There doesn't seem to be any locals using it. We had a burger, steak sandwich and frozen steakhouse chips which were described as triple cooked 2 pints and a soft drink we paid just short of £60. I'm sorry but the service charge is a joke. I don't mind paying for service but 10%just to set a plate down....we ate in the bayview the previous Friday, 2 courses, starters and beautiful lamb dish and a chicken with pepper sauce and a bottle of wine for £67 there was no service charge but the service was rewarded. Sorry but I don't think we will be back.

We stayed over night at the Causeway Hotel. By staying here we were able to explore the Causeway during hours when there were no crowds. We loved being among the towering rocks in the evening and hiking the trails along the top of the cliffs at sunrise. The staff was friendly. The room was comfortable enough and had a lovely view although the shade was broken. We had a nice dinner in the lounge and a lovely breakfast which was included in the room price. We enjoyed our stay here because you can not beat the location.

To be honest we didn’t have high expectations but our visit was fantastic. We were advised by family to park here as they deduct the parking charge from your food and drinks bill, no brainer! It was during that very warm spell at the start of September so we were ready for refreshments after walking down to the causeway. We were led to a lovely window table in the restaurant and immediately brought a carafe of water which was very much needed. As vegans we have been to many places that don’t cater for us and that’s fine but the tofu Thai curry here was a lovely surprise, delicious and well presented and a fair price. Efficient friendly service form the staff and we were on our way happy. I read other reviews and I sometimes think peoples expectations are off the scale. This is a lovely country hotel in Northern Ireland with pleasant staff offering good food to the multitude of guests visiting daily from all over the world, a job well done in my opinion.

This is a great location and is quite cozy on the inside but from the moment we arrived we felt the service was off. We asked for two coffees, water, glass of dilute and a Fanta. Two coffees came and such a small Fanta. No milk or no water no dilute. We waited a good bit. People forget things and it was no big deal to me. No one came so I went up and asked could we get milk and water and dilute. A young girl with dark hair and red highlights seemed so bothered we asked she came down slammed the water glasses on the table and kept staring at me oddly. As if I had insulted or her or bothered her. We didn't get dilute after asking three times. I didn't bother asking, again as I didn't want to annoy her anymore. The bill was so high. I get this is a tourist location but for tiny cups of coffee, a tiny glass of Fanta and they kept forgetting our order it's simply not OK. It wasn't that busy and while I understand also people mistakes there is no excuse to be so rude and continue to ignore guests. I would not recommend this place at all

obviously has location, location, location. I suppose it stands to reason you capitalise on that fact, we ordered a good bottle of wine, which in fairness was served well chilled and with nice glasses, the waitress was efficient but quite brusque, understandable I suppose, probably nothing worse than a crowd of tourists, without us though, she would be unemployed. The food was ordinary to say the least, certainly cannot be described as hotel fayre, shame with such views

I would lie if I said I expected a good experience here after reading some negative reviews here and also taking into account the fact that this is the closest place to the GIant's Causeway... but it turned out to be a great meal and a very nice experience and considering the $10 you pay for the parking while arriving here gets you the credit towards the food is a no brainer for any person that wants to visit this area and have a lunch on the spot - like we did, a perfect combo 10/10 value! TIP: make sure to take that ticket with you from the car as they won't apply the discount to your bill unless you have on you

Seems like a nice enough place and certainly has potential. However there is a serious management failing - staff are either very poorly trained, severely understaffed or just clueless. It didn’t appear too busy but we were kept waiting and nobody came near us to take order (it’s table service only). Had to ask twice for someone to take our order. Wanted to try a local beer but the first two were out of stock - person beside us wanted a port and they didn’t have that either. Poor.

We did a quick stop after touring Giant's Causeway. The staff are kids, friendly-ish but clueless. Cheese plate was spectacularly good, crisp, plentiful, whole-grained crackers, maybe homemade? The quince paste certainly was homemade and delicious. With Ederflower and tonic it came to a princely price of £15, minus the £10 for parking. Great value.

So they have a captive audience with the offer to park for 10 pounds and then you can take that amount off your food bill after you visit the Giants Causeway. Service is beyond a joke. Waited 40 mins for coffee and cake. The bill came before the food !!! and they were surprised I didnt want to pay then. The cakes came without cutlery. We asked for some and got a pair of clearly used forks. Felt nauseus. My husband went to find a manager and a staff member told him they were f***ing busy. We had a child with us. The manager, initially defensive, conceded that the abuse would be investigated and apologised. The lady beside us waited nearly an hour for tea after getting her cake, then 2 cups came. Avoid unless you have several hours to kill. It should be called Fawlty Towers. I thought we were on a hidden camera show at one stage. The food when it eventually arrived was fine.

Nice, comfortable lounge for a coffe and cake or something stronger. Service nice and very friendly. BUT, we were charged £14.40 for 2 pints of lime and soda! This must be the most expensive lime and soda on earth! OK, so after the fact we were told we'd had 2 bottles of Fever Tree soda each at £3.60 each. Really? Why didn't you tell us that when we ordered? Cake was very nice but was also an extortionate price at £6.50 per slice. Beware, this place is nice enough but also overpriced, like everything these days.

Visited here today with my parents as they were given a voucher for Xmas, so today we thought we would use it, travelled from Derry, the surroundings are beautiful and the hotel itself is stunning inside and out. We approached a member of staff inside and ask do we have to make reservations? To be told we do not but unfortunately we only have a lunch menu which has 3 dishes available as today is a really bad day. We told her we had a voucher to use and she recommended maybe keeping it for a later date to use on the full menu. I ask about the bar lounge she said that lunch menu is for the bar and restaurant but we could order tray bakes, scones, tea and coffee. So we said we would go into the bar lounge and see. We decided to have coffee tea and scone and a slice of cake as we had travelled the whole way from Derry. The price of this came to a total of £14.50, very steep. We sat and enjoyed this, but my father kept questioning why was today a bad day? It’s a Friday, why would they not have a full menu, so I ask the fella at the bar and he said no it’s just the small lunch menu their serving from. My father then went outside and when he came in he noticed that the girl that told us there was only the small lunch menu on offer today, was taken a couple into the restaurant with the large main menus in her hand. He thought this was strange, and my mother and I both said maybe it was a drink menu and they were taken it into the restaurant to enjoy? So as we were leaving the bar lounge dad decided to ask the girl just out of curiosity when the main menu would be back on and if it was only specific days? To be told “oh the restaurant is now serving from the main menu, the decided to do this about and hour ago as it is now quieter”, now what annoys me is that they were aware we had the voucher to spend and no one attempted to come in and let us know that they decided to serve from the larger menu again in the restaurant, we would of been none the wiser if my father did not ask. Therefore I ask to speak to the manager, to be told that yes it was booked up all day and they didn’t know that it would be free later, now we arrived and were in the bar lounge for no more that 45 minutes, so I don’t know where this it just happen in an hour that we decided to serve from the main menu came about but anyways as I said to the manager would it not of been maybe a good idea if your staff would of made us aware as she knew we had a voucher and were in the bar lounge to come and make us aware that the main menu was being served again? He said that maybe she wasn’t aware. As I said we would of not known the restaurant was serving more than 3 dishes if my father did not decide to ask when we were leaving to which he replied as I have already spoke to your father outside and made aware the restaurant is small and we were not aware that we would be serving food later again, but if i would like to he could make us a reservation for a table in the restaurant up to 4.30, to which I said well that’s not the point the point is that we spent £14.50 in the bar lounge. I really feel it was bad communication and common courtesy to come and let us know that the restaurant was again serving all the dishes. I told him I would speak to my parents if they would like to book a table, so I left ask my parents outside at the table if they would like to rebook and said to my dad I wasn’t aware the manager spoke to you already to which he replied what? He said no manger or member of staff had approached him, he was annoyed about this and went in to speak to the girl standing to sit people and ask her for the manager she said he was taken a training meeting, to which my dad said well I hope he is training them better than he is trained, and would you pass on the message that in no way did he come and approach me or talk to me outside so unless someone else has complained but he did not speak to me and to tell my daughter that he did I am furious about, she said she would pass the message on. We later booked a table as I did not want to come down the whole way again, the meal was okay, nothing special. What am disappointed about is that we were messed about and that a member of staff who is meant to be a leader lied to my face about speaking to my father, as I thought afterwards how could he possibly know who my father was? We spent £14.50 in the bar lounge when it wasn’t necessary, and are restaurant bill was £33.95 which we paid with Athens £30 voucher. I think it would of been nice and really out of courtesy to be offered a refund regarding the £14.50 we spent, however we were not offered anything. If my parents did not have the voucher I would certainly not of ate here I would of went to the smugglers bar and restaurant or other places near by. I will be letting my brother know not to purchase gift vouchers here again for my parents to use as I would not recommend eating here at all. I suggest better training and better communication and more empathy showed towards your paying customers.

First, ignore the tea drinker who complained in April. Don't know what the problem was but I am sure it must lie with the guest. We found the food quite good, dinner prices reasonable, ambiance galore, views to die for, but most importantly, the service was outstandingly friendly and attentive. Katie and Darren could not have been more solicitous and helpful..top notch. A shame that dress code has deteriorated so much worldwide in the last 20 years that people dress now as if they are going to McDonalds instead of a fine restaurant.

We were staying nearby and on Easter weekend everywhere else was booked. I can see why this was the only place we could get into. the staff were fine, but service was slow in every way. The food came and was very blah. I mean not terrible, but it wasn't great.

We stopped off here to warm up after finishing the 5km circular walk around the Giant's Causeway. It was a cold wet & windy day & the horel was very welcoming. The staff were friendly & helpful. We had coffees & scones which were delicious. The decor inside is really quite interesting. We didn't stay for lunch but plenty of folk were arriving for lunch as we were leaving. Old world charm, warm and inviting, we were pleased we stopped there instead of going into the visitor's centre.

We stopped at the Causeway Bar on a cool late afternoon and had a cappuccino. The bar tender was nice and the hot coffee was perfect to take the chill off.

After visiting the Giants Causway we popped in to the Causway hotel for a quick drink and a warm up before getting back on the coach. My wife had a Baileys coffee and I had a Bushmills whisky. The bar staff were the best ever and made us feel home, nothing was to much trouble

We stayed at the hotel, and ate dinner at the restaurant purely for convenience and pleased that we did. Food was very nice & well priced. Service was pleasant & efficient. Enjoyed both the fish dishes on offer on the night. Food served to other diners looked pretty convincing too.

The service was nice, the room was also nice, a bit too expensive though. We actually booked a room with the view of the Causeway and we eventually got the opposite side. The dinner was nice, but everything seemed so expensive, the only plus was that we were given a free pass for the Causeway Museum and shop.

I ate here alone and was made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent, the service was good and I was able to take my after-dinner coffee into their beautiful bar area afterwards, and relax in a comfortable arm chair. Also - excellent location!

I ordered one Harp Light beer (terrific!) and one Irish Stew. The stew wasn't hot so I sent it back and asked if it could be heated up.

Love coming here for a meal. It's not so noisy as in some other places, staff is friendly, there is no rush and the food is really nice. Stunning location too, of course, if you want to add a walk before or after your me

Don't usually eat at places like this near to tourist attractions as they're usually average and overpriced, but after a full morning at Carrick-a-Rede and the Causeway we needed some quick and easy food. We got what we could have expected.

We missed breakfast but had tea and scones before making our way to the Giants Causeway. A very historic hotel with great views of the coastline. Easy parking but only if you are staying or eating at the hotel; they have parking police monitoring the lot.

I think it was about four years ago when I last visited this restaurant and I was very disappointed but on this visit I was amazed at the change. I understand that The National Trust now have co tell and what a great j9b they have done. Six of us in the party and we all enjoyed our food, each course was great, and the prices were reasonable. Staff were friendly and efficient and we could not fault the service. As a tourist this was a fantastic experience and I look forward to another visit when I can.
