Cau in Cambridge

Went for wings Wednesday with a few work friends. Arrived at the location and shown to our table. Took 15 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive after ordering with staff. This was because the only waitress on duty was having a chat with the kitchen staff out of sight and forgetting customers. There was only my group and 2 other tables so not a busy day. Had to wait 25 to 30 mins for food once ordered. When I ask the chef if the waitress was still working or was she on part time hours and gone home. I was told to be quiet and sit down and order with the waitress who was never around. The chef was very rude and aggressive. I could then hear the staff including the waitress Kat in the kitchen being disrespectful about the group and myself. I was then approached by Kat and challenged in an aggressive manner. My first brew dog experience. Safe to say I won’t be going back to any branch if is what brew dog is all about.

Went Monday lunchtime. On person had to wait a long time as they got order wrong twice. A few things on the menu were not available as the delivery had not arrived. (" I rummaged around and found some milk") We went to find a waitress after waiiinv for 40.minutes to order something else, she apologised and said she was really busy as it is an admin day.... Really??? Staff were friendly and did take money off the bill, but I wouldn't go back as experience wasn't great. Place looks lovely though

The restaurant makes a nice impression. Unfortunately, the buttermilk chicken wings were so spicy that they were barely edible. So I took off the breading so I could eat it. I also found the mac n cheese underwhelming. So it was my first and last visit there.

Ample selection of (slightly pricey in my opinion) beers, and nice food. It would have been nice to have alternative non-hot sauces for the chicken wings. The experience was not great as the toilets were flooded in a non-pleasant way (and no sign was in place), so basically only one toilet was available for the whole place. Fortunately it wasn't peak hour.

Good atmosphere as always and the service/beers were very good. However the quality of the vegetarian/vegan options have declined of late! The 'Carolina Chicken' burger was extremely disappointing. Dry patty, nothing in the way of toppings or garnish on the burger, it looked and tasted very much like something bought from Iceland and cooked in the oven for 20 minutes. Shame Brew Dog was previously the go-to place for plant-based burgers in Cambridge. What happened to the 'Lightning Jack' burger? It was much better value for money than the current offerings.

As usual they forgot something on the delivery. Why do you guys keep a delivery service if you can't do it properly. They also forgot the receipt on the bag. Honestly! You have one job! Do it properly

the worst pub in cambridge. It took more than an hour to serve the order, everything is very expensive compared to the poor quality of the food. The glasses were dirty with a woman's lipstick. Don't waste your money here

Would never go here again. Staff are fine but the food is awful and vastly overpriced.

I had Mixed Experience by visiting BrewDog Cambridge with high hopes due to a burger special. Punk IPA was a standout, but the buffalo chicken burger disappointed – over-fried and tough to chew. Cluck Norris was a better choice, yet overall, food quality didn't match the excellent drinks. Disappointing contrast.

The best food I've had for a long time! The This! Vegan wings and noodles were absolutely delicious! These need to stay on the menu, this menu was iconic the dragon wings were the best! The service here was also amazing, Ella was absolutely lovely, was full of character so chatty and friendly an absolute icon! Thank you so much for a lovely lunch! I'll definitely be returning soon 🥰

Food took an hour and half. Sent back because it was cold an obviously just slamed together.Just got a refund on that part and left.Brew Dog beer is my favourite here but this restraunt needs some help. I go here every couple months and the food is getting worse each time. Think this is the last visit to the Cambridge site.Staff at the front was great but I think the kitchen is a bit understaffed and just chucking stuff on plates with no regard for quality.If you are understafed and can't serve don't open the kitchen.

As a fan of craft beer this is a great choice and in an ideal location in Cambridge city centre.

Bar more like is a traditional pub part of English life …where people can have a drink together on "neutral" territory are part of social life, where people go to talk to each other, to find companionship and catch up on news from near and far :)

BrewDog is located just a short walk from the Grand arcade parking garage and in the heart of the restaurant area. The menu isn’t expensive and it’s easy to order and pay. Expect wings, burgers, salads and a wide variety of drinks. The food was great but the atmosphere and table service needs work. Even when empty it’s faster to walk down to the bar to order drinks. Expect around £7 pints and £15 for food.

Az étel kiváló volt. A sör szintén fantasztikus! A kiszolgálás lassú volt, pedig csak páran voltunk. Az étkezés után ittunk volna egy sört még de hozták a számlát. Jó persze kaptunk még 1 sört. Aztán kértük a számlát de még sört hoztak volna 😀 Ettől függetlenül természetesen jól éreztük magunkat és a kaja mint írtam super volt és ez a lényeg.

Very nice atmosphere! I’m gluten free (coeliac) and the bar tender had good knowledge on what I could have!

Service is ok and the beer is great but the toilet in this place is a nightmare. There is only one toilet which is unisex and the stalls are absolutely filthy with seats and floor covered in urine. Seats are definitely not safe for seating on. No dispensers for the toilet tissue and the rolls are placed in random places, soiled and dirty or missing altogether.

Love the beers and food. I’m a shareholder and was previously a big fan of BrewDog, but am struggling to justify it anymore given the increasingly poor service. We order takeaway regularly, and I would say there’s something missing from the order about 10% of the time. Most recently it happened ordering from BrewDog Now app. There is nowhere to report missing items on the app so I phoned the restaurant and they said I should put it in an email… No response since.

Great food, amazing beer, very friendly staff

Came in for a couple of drinks. Incredibly friendly service. I tried quite a few of the beers and had a good chat with the bartender about what he also enjoyed. My friend had a wine and a couple of beers as well and was also very happy with everything we experienced. Would certainly come again and 100% want to come for an all you can eat wings at some point.

Came here for a couple of frozen margaritas and a burger. Food was spot on, margs were really good, service was absolutely banging. Would recommend

Large Brewdog on two floors with lots of seating and great beers. We had the Patriot Burger and the Spicy Deluxe Burger which were great. Hazy Jane Guava is always a good choice🍺

I am a brewdog share owner and I have come to the cambridge bar since it was opened. Latelly I've been noticing a lot of stuff going wrong. The products and the beer are still great but the staff is very slow, the food always takes ages to come and they never have all you want and are late to tell you about it. Latelly they have had Wifi issues which makes the order app unusable. This is a great bar in the city center and its needs to improve.

Food and beer are generally good, but this pub is definitely proof that brew dog has gotten too big for their boots. We came with our kids and our friends with kids who were visiting. We ordered food and just after it was delivered to our table, we were told by a security guard that we needed to leave. He then watched us eat and followed us to the door as if we were criminals. I won't be coming back.

Great selection of beers. I'm a big fan of the fruits sours and they always have some interesting options. Today's take home is 'banana split'. Its so good I'm literally taking some home.

It was a great outlet of BrewDog in Cambridge!! I loved the self ordering option from online!! The food and drinks came on time and excellent customer service! Would love to visit there again!!!

Service was super attentive and adaptable to our needs eating out with kids. We tried it on a Sunday afternoon fancying an alternative to a pub Sunday roast and we were happy with our meals, going for a selection of meat and vegan burgers. Fries are an optional extra unless going for the hoppy meal box so bear this in mind when working out how much your bill is likely to be. As ever the beer selection is wild and ever changing so you'll definitely find something you like whether it's pale, dark, fruity or alcohol free.

Super experience! Really friendly and approachable waitress, who was advisory and fun to talk to when it came to trying beers. Other staff also friendly. My partner won a free dessert(deep fried Oreos-much nicer than they sound, highly recommend) playing Rock, Paper, Scissors with the waitress. Lots of choice of craft ales. Surprisingly really child friendly (clean baby change) also dog friendly (K9 beer station)

Spent the evening here last night, as usual it was a great experience my partner worked his way through the beer menue and I had many pints of the Gluten free punk (which tastes so much nicer on tap than in cans) also had a couple of the rhubarb and yuzu vodkas. everything was tasty and the staff are all lovely and the music was epic we were singing along to nearly every song! Will be going back again to eat and drink more!

Went to Cau for dinner while on a girls night out. Our waitress helped us navigate through the menu, giving recommendations and suggestions. The food was really good and suitably filling. It’s a reasonably modern restaurant and quite noisy, however we enjoyed it. Would be nice to have a couple more veggie options. I realise it’s a steak restaurant however if a veggie is accompanying someone it’s nice to have a few more tasty options.

We arrived and was seen straight away that was good we was then sat upstairs next to a group of about 30 women on a hen do or birthday party! So Louis could not hear yourself think let alone try hold down a conversation. Asked to move we was told they just paying the bill. By the time our food had come out they still hadn’t gone and there was no other tables to move to as requested! Very dissappointed! Although the food was good very disappointed in the service as meals where mixed up and being that my girlfriend does not like medium rare at all and she was given that and I was given hers well done. Not impressed and when. It came to the bill we was not happy that we had been charged for double drinks when asked for singles and for what the total bill came to was not worth What we had ordered very disappointed in restaurant as a whole would not recommend or visit again!!!

Good option for a quick meal before the theatre. Great casual dining but perhaps a little pricey for what it was despite the food being very good. Nice to have ‘proper’ napkins but felt like a mismatch given the very small tables &amp; general causal ambience. <br /><br />Expected toilets to be spotless at the beginning of evening service but they weren’t - needs improvement &amp; didn’t give a good impression.

Booked a table here for after my daughter&#039;s graduation. We were seated in a private booth which was amazing - felt that we were in our own little dining space (really helped one of our party join in conversations as has difficulty hearing in loud restaurants). Really nice modern interior. We ate a selection of starters and mains and every single thing was cooked perfectly and delicious. Service was prompt and we had a super waitress who really made the evening. Can&#039;t recommend highly enough - will return when next back in Cambridge.

Came with friends for a day in Cambridge and we booked a pre show meal. From the minute we got there the staff were friendly and served us quickly. The food was superb and everyone in our party, including a vegetarian, said they enjoyed the food ( and wine)! Will definitely be back and would recommend to everyone.

Had a beautiful steak with half a mushroom - ordered the side of mushrooms, glad I did! Had the pancakes for pud - wow, yummy and a good portion. Lovely evening with hubby and although quite a noisy restaurant the waitress was lovely. Would definitely go back.

I had a 9oz ribeye and it was the best steak I have ever eaten! <br />Our only negative was there was no drinks on tap. Only bottles of coke, beer etc.

We went there for Father&#039;s day as hubby is a big fan of steaks. The Chef&#039;s cut steak is flavoursome and juicy and would recommend it. The classic cut is similar to what you will find from other steak house. The waitor asked us if we would like a Father&#039;s Day cocktail on special offer. The price is like any other cocktails on the menu so it&#039;s not any &#039;special&#039;. Thought this was a bit sneaky how it was sold to us but hubby liked the drink so that&#039;s acceptable. The (size of the pinch) salad that came with the steak didn&#039;t look very fresh. There was a quarter of a portabello mushroom that came with the steak, thought they could be a bit more generous than that and for that reason, didn&#039;t think it&#039;s value for money.

Was recommended by a local and must admit it was fantastic.<br /><br />The waitress was excellent and when asked she went through all the options, asked us our personal likes then recommended to suit. <br /><br />Starters, main course and dessert were excellent quality, really tasty and brilliant value.

Me and my husband went to CAU for my birthday at lunchtime mid week as we had the day off work. The set menu was very reasonable (£12.50) for 2 courses and the service was excellent, and food delicious. They even gave me a little birthday cheese cake and sang me happy birthday. So cute! This is only the second time we’ve been to this restaurant but would definitely recommend it!

The food is A-Mazing, couldn&#039;t fault it. The service was great, attentive without being too much, helpful when some of the party couldn&#039;t make up their mind on what to go for, offered suggestions for drinks etc. This is the second time we have visited and both have been the same., the first just two of us and the next for a family meal. We will be back and would recommend!

Good food, on the pricey side, can be quite packed and noisy at times, but worth it overall.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions but the quality and particularly the taste of the steak seems to have dropped. The meal was therefore rather disappointing. I also disapprove of the automatic inclusion of a 10% service charge which I failed to read on the bill and was only pointed out when I asked if I could include it on my cc transaction. Grateful for the honesty of the server who pointed it out. Patrons should feel they want to leave a gratuity and not be taken for granted. I shall not eat here again.

Definitely a “different” atmosphere to traditional restaurants, lacking a cosy feel. Food was decent and small portions, the service however was excellent. <br />The music was too loud and the playlist was pretty awful, I even heard Eminem playing... in a restaurant?

Fantastic food, great quality and good service. We went for my husbands birthday and weren’t disappointed. They even added a candle to his dessert. Would definitely go again.

Turned up early for our table, this was not an issue. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, arranged for us to have a large steak to share as it will cook better. It was cooked perfectly.

As a native of Argentina these were very good steaks. Certainly among the best I have eaten outside Argentina. Sadly the wine list doesn’t match up to the beef, uninspiring and in the 3x+ retail price range. Desserts were limited but good. In short, go for the steak. It is lively /loud, so not the setting for a romantic meal.

Booked a table and turned up 30 minutes early and staff had no problem with moving our reservation forward. Waiter was friendly and we were offered a jug of water as soon as we were seated.<br />Polite waiter who knew the menu well, food was served quick and was hot and very tasty!<br />Tempura Onion Rings and the Rib-eye steak a highlight!! Would highly recommend!<br />Price was fair for the wonderful food. Will be returning when I am next in Cambridge!<br />Thank you very much!

Nice atmosphere.<br /><br />Tables very close to each other do conversation difficult.<br /><br />Steak lovely but for £40 should have side orders included and a 21oz steak should be 21oz when served not 16oz. Waiter should have realised customer should not have to tell them.<br /><br />Whole chicken main was very small again no side order included except a small chips.<br /><br />Coffee cold.<br /><br />It came highly recomended by a friend but we were disappointed. An £80 meal should leave you full and wanting to go back.

This was our first time, having previously tried without having booked--and failing to get in. This time we booked on line same day midweek, very easily. All three courses were very palatable and in reasonable amounts, and well priced. Staff very friendly and efficient. Altogether a very pleasant experience, and we hope to be back soon. Only negative was that the music was too loud for easy conversation, although our friendly waitress did have it turned down slightly.

Ambience is a little trendy rather than cozy, but the staff were really welcoming and the food was awesome.
