Amazing Thai comfort food and great friendly neighbourhood eatery! Always fresh and tasty Love it, so glad this wonderful restaurant is on our doorstep 😍💐😍

Has improved since my last visit five years back but it still feels like a second rate Thai restaurant. When we arrived there was no one in the restaurant (including staff, which was odd). A few minutes later the waitress arrived and turned on the music. There may be a reason this place is usually empty. The complimentary prawn crackers were parsimonious and had no accompanying chilli sauce which wasn’t an overly welcoming start. The starters we ordered were tasty enough without being mind blowing. Chicken gyoza were crispy, the salted squid was ok. The main dishes were mixed. The fried chicken was pretty average, whereas the aubergine and chicken was tasty. There is a drinks menu with a happy hour 5-7pm but doing dry January we hoped for some mocktails…no can do apparently…sigh. Overall it was fine and at £25 a head was affordable but it’s not somewhere I can go wild about.

Staff was really nice but it gave me insane food poisoning I threw up sooo much and had to go to the hospital wouldn't recommend if you want to get sent to the hospital

I got delivery from JustEat, the Penang curry was great, along with the stay sauce for the 4 chicken skewers. The amount of complimentary prawn crackers you get was alot which was great and tasty👌🏻The Pad Kee Mau noodles were okay and the deep fried squid was weird, had a almost fried chicken batter on it. Could have been much better on my opinion... I am not sure why they do Thai good and Tapas 🤔

Nice quiet restaurant with authentic Thai food. We had vegetarian dishes but other dishes from other customers also looked nice. Green and red curry was tasty. Thai wine was also 👍

went to pickup food instead of delivery, cheaper for me and for them. the guy barely said hi, was not friendly at all. buy yourself a smile and a way to welcome people, especially when the place is empty. Been there multiple times and the food was ok now it was whatever. Will order from another Thai restaurant as they don't care about you so I don't care about them. Don't ask yourself why your place is empty 99% of the year... I have the answer, your CS is pathetic.

Lovely neighbourhood restaurant! Definitely recommend. The food was lovely, we had a ginger & beef dish with rice, was excellent. Also tried the minty beef with rice, super dish (I've had many of these in other restaurants and can vouch this one is worth it!). Our server was friendly! The restaurant wasn't busy when we visited, was a lovely casual hour, and our server made us some awesome margarita's!

Shockingly bad food, woeful, avoid.

Food is always good, but tonight even better. Really light tempura batter and nuanced chilli and garlic sauce. Plus awesome Hope Augustus singing with SE7 band. Couldn't ask for more on a Sunday evening.

Vegans beware…Ordered a pad Thai off the vegan menu, waitress specified vegan on the docket but chef added egg to the dish. After eating and realising, they apologised and brought out a (hopefully) vegan pad Thai. Made me feel physically sick as have been vegan for many years. Waitress was nice, but just a shame about the overall experience. The place was empty for early dinner service on a Saturday. Could be quite a nice spot if improvements were made.

This restaurant is authentic Thai food. Chef came from Thailand. Taste like eating in Thailand. These food are so delicious and great. I really recommend this place if you want to eat original Thai food.

Only come here if you want to wait HOURS for your food! We booked a table at 7:30pm. However, they must have a poor booking system, since we had to wait for a table and then had to remind them we were a group of 6, not 4. We waited a total of 2 hours and a half for the mains! I have never waited so long for food before. To add insult to injury, a party of 5 were served food long before we were, even though they had arrived and ordered a lot later than us. It got to the point where we had all lost our appetites from waiting for the food for so long. To top it off the Num Tok was not worth the extended wait (or any wait for that matter). I couldn’t finish it and was very disappointed. I had to go to the Chinese takeaway next door after... Granted the rest of the food is very good here. I would recommend the Tom Kar and the soft shell crab. Such a shame our experience was marred by the long service and the lack of compensation from waiting for so long.

Amazing food as ever at Cattleya.

My wife and I have just had takeaway from this place. We’re new to the area and have never had food there before. We had chilli lamb, chicken gaeng kiew wan (green curry), prawn phad Thai, Po-yak for two, fish cake and two steamed rice. Truth to be told the fish cake and the steamed rice were fine. But the rest was either very, very good or simply delicious. At £53 (incl delivery) was it cheap? Probably not. Was it worth it and delicious? Absolutely. Our Thai food of choice going forward, until our next trip to Bangkok of course. 9/10.

Great food with some excellent delicately balanced flavours and good service. They really do need to invest in a proper heater to turn on for guests for when it's cold outside; the little one they have is sized for a box room but not a restaurant. I'm sure it's okay when the place is full and body heat helps warm the place up, but when you're the first of the night it is off putting. It does also make the food go cold a little quicker than I'd like (when food is good I like to take my time, plus I like an extra Pad Thai for the table because I can never decide ). We persevered because the food is SO tasty, but others may not. That I still rate it 5 stars tells you how good the food is. They just need to fix that one small thing.

On impulse we decided to go out for food our Friend recommended cattleya for Thai Food. We arrived to a quite dining room but we're delighted that A wide choice was available. We selected Spanish Tapas selecting brushetta that is toasted bread topped with tomatoes garlic and oli.We had Roasted Peppers Patatas Apollo that is fried potatoes with garlic mayonnaise We also added The And The Hot Mixed Platter which included patatas fritas Grilled Chorizo Jasmin Serrano Roasted Peppers also we had Jasmin Serrano that is thinly sliced cured ham. When it arrived it was just beautiful with 1 having Prosecco and 2Tiger Beers . After eating all that we had desserts Mango and Sticky Rice and it was beautiful. Our meal was very reasonable and definitely we will be back and would highly recommend a visit food is excellent.

Great option to have a meal before going to the nearby Valley football stadium to watch Charlton Athletic play

Walked past often so thought I’d try. Advertise cocktail happy hour 5-8 but went for beer instead. The starter duck rolls were small, tasted ok but not too memorable. The main was a beef and rice dish which was a bit watery. Tasted fine but again nothing amazing. At £25 a head with tip, it’s a bit pricey for Thai . Service was polite and prompt. Might return one day but more likely to order in takeaway from elsewhere.

This is a lovely friendly restaurant- we have visited twice when we have been away fans watching football at Charlton Athletic - and have been welcomed by staff. Food is tasty and fresh as well as served quite quickly so you can get to the football on time! I wish I had a Thai Mediterranean restaurant this good closer to my home!

Food was presented beautifully, everything was cooked to perfection. But 5 different orders for one table did take a while to come out. The restaurant layout is pretty. Staff polite. My order was not a hot one and even tho I could taste some spice it added to the flavour and did not overpower the pallet. Nice place, definitely recommend

Came here with friends for the Thai hot pot, found the staff to be really attentive and friendly. The food itself was original and the restaurant had a good wine menu.

Lovely meal this evening. A mix of Thai and tapas, all cooked perfectly. And hard to believe the price. A secret gem.

Tried this place for the first time. Got a green chicken curry - the steamed rice it comes with was mushy and the flavour was bland and was disappointed by the amount of chicken (same for my guest who remarked how little beef was in his - for the price we paid).

Some good food here albeit a bit overpriced. Some of the specials warrant the price tag (sea bass or other fish dishes) but the Thai green curry is a standard dish which should be more affordable. That said, good food, good ambience and service. Unusual for Charlton in that it feels more upmarket and could do with more places like this. Haven’t attended the music nights but good to have the option.

Fab authentic Thai food at great prices. Been eating here for many years. Staff are lovely and go out of their way to accommodate (love the fact that vegans are welcome and loving the new vegan dishes that are being added to the menu). Oh and the vegetarian prawn crackers are very tasty! Always feel very welcomed :)

The best Thai restaurant we’ve ever eaten at. We’ve been eating here for 8 years and love it. Delicious authentic food and friendly welcoming staff. They also serve Spanish tapas and have live music. Definitely worth a visit 😄

The restaurant itself was really cold, one little heater for the whole place. The food was mediocre, great service. But thats about the best thing to say about it.

A tapas menu and a Thai menu? Might be better off going one way or the other. I had heard this place was very popular so was surprised that it was only half full before a recent Charlton home game. Food didn't blow my socks off. Given the price probably wont go back.

We had lunch in the Cattleya before a football match at Charlton. It is not that far up the hill from the station with a pleasant enough dining room that seats about 40 covers. It was quite full but not packed which surprised us a bit although they offer no lunchtime special deal and the pricing is not cheap - over £10 for most mains. They also didn't offer us complimentary prawn crackers. We had a Pad Thai and a Green Curry - both were good, and they do Singha and San Miguel on draft. The service was friendly and pretty prompt even though there was only one person doing everything front of house. The toilets are distinctly average

Great food. Liked it alot. Service a bit slow though as the food came in one after another like it was cooked one by one. We went in at 6pm on 25th Feb and the restaurant was very cold as heating was only turned on. Portions are normal size but not too small.

Ordered food from here, never turned up, all you get is excuses about how bad their driver is and customer service is the worst I have ever encountered in my short lived life, because I died of starvation waiting for the food to turn up, so if this is all down to the driver, he has got to be the worst driver since princess Dianna’s chauffeur. I think you get the general idea, very overpriced and very disappointing, now I know how the Argentinian ruby team felt when their airplane crashed and they started eating each other, but at least they didn’t have to wait two hours to tuck in, the lucky bastards!! Anyway I am starting to fade away from starvation, if you find my withered away body, blame Cataleya, I love you Mum, blame cattleya!!!!!

Food wasn't the best , I have not long got back from Thailand so I know what authentic Thai food is. Prawn crackers served to us on arrival were abit stale Ordered massaman chicken curry which wasn't bad bit bland but tasty Friend had beef massaman and said it was decent And other friend had pad Thai which he said wasn't too good . Decent prices though so worth trying out

After a long day of work. we where in need of some light food. Showed to table menus arrived, as do prawn crackers The waiter responded to our questions very well. So far so good, pleasant decor. After some time and some more time and even more timex2 he arrives back, "sorry about the wait what would you like ?" Food and drinks please. :) another long wait. And some more wait to make sure. 30 odd mins and still no drinks the bar was no More then 10 steps away. Tables around us cleaned. Others paid and left. lost the will after another table managed to ask for and receive more drinks. Think an invisibility cloak was used. 45 mins we left. Might still have been waiting by time this review is read.

Food was delicious, which was the main thing. Unfortunately it was late due to traffic and the driver going to the wrong place. However the restaurant were kind and kept me informed and offered a £10 refund. Would definitely order again, but perhaps just make sure it comes to the right place.

Went there with my teenage son after a match at Charlton Athletic. They played good music - Nick Drake which is not so common - and that got us talking to a friendly family who'do been at the same match. Good mixed starters, I enjoyed my red curry and my son liked his Phad Thai, but it was such a generous portion that he couldn't finish it. It was his first Thai meal and he was very happy. MeLlowes decor, attentive service and a cosy atmosphere at a reasonable price. I'll definitely go there again if I am in the area.

I have been a regular customer of this place for about 8 years and would strongly recommend you try this place, especially if you are a local, or come along and try it even if you’re not local. The food is tasty and the staff friendly, helpful and eager to please. The place is fully licenced and serve san Miguel on draught, bottled Thai lagers and British bitters as well as a range of European and new world and Thai wines and a selection of cocktails. You can just have a drink there if you want but usually people who do that end up eating there anyway. The restaurant is not entirely Thai cuisine as when the owner Nittaya took over the establishment is was already a locals tapas bar, but because the tapas was very popular she decided to keep the tapas side as well as producing a Thai selection so you can have Thai, tapas or a combination of the two. They have a live community band SE7 playing on the last Sunday of each month in a sort of ad hoc jamming section with volunteer singers from the audience and sometimes they hire a professional musician-singer to perform. I personally love the food here, not only for the taste but also the price which is very reasonable, and you can also use their takeaway delivery service which I do occasionally, if the weathers really bad. Being so close to the Charlton football ground it’s great for a pre or post match meal and drink.

I thought the food was great, was just an 65 mins after ordering - 20 after the expected delivery time, so we were starving and it was a tad late to be eating! But yes a very nice surprise to have nice delivery thai that wasn't greasy! thanks

Had a delightful Sunday evening with lovely fusion cuisine, and live music! Cattleya is an intimate and informal venue! It is well known in the area and independently owned which only adds to it's charm!

Mi pareja y yo tuvimos una comida aquí. Pedimos el 'pierna de cordero' - carne muy cocidas, salsa aguada, verduras flojo. La tortilla española no era mucho mejor, sólo contenía patatas y cebollas en contraposición a lo que en realidad una tortilla española debería contener....

Cocina tailandesa auténtica. El personal se desvive por ti. Ene, Natalia y Christian son fantásticas. Una gran experiencia. Altamente recomendado!

Living locally this is a fabulous restaurant love the combination of thai and tapas. Is great before a match (cafc) and good to pop in any time. Often have live music which is fab. Tonight we had soft shelled crab and garlic chilli prawns both delicious. Main was num tok spicy beef which was stunning and a made to order stir fry . Just lovely people and a must to visit

Not great! Turned up 15mins earlier than my requested time and the food was cold. A butter sauce had leaked over the bag and into other food containers.

Both curries (jungle and massaman) were the consistency of water with only very small amounts of meat in either dish. Portions very small. Won't be ordering from here again.

Met my friend Joe here for a pre-match lunch before the Charlton v Leeds match. Totally empty when ain't arrived at 12.30. This restaurant is an unusual mix of Spanish tapas and Thai food. Thoroughly enjoyed the tapas especially the Chorizo in red wine. Restaurant was full when we left ar 2.30.

Phad krapow tofu was beautifully flavoured and spiced Thai red curry could have had more duck and less veg, but was very tasty

Sad to say it was the first and last time we'll order from here. Food portions were much smaller than expected for the price. Wasn't very impressed with standard of food, even less impressed with cold oily Churros :-(

Went with my wife and daughter following TripAdvisor reviews. Not great. Dingy decor, confusing menu, food not great. So close to the football ground can only assume good reviews have come from half cut fans.

I was expecting something authentic after reading lots of good reviews of this restaurant, unfortunately the food was not authentic thai enough, not spicy nor hot in heat for that matter.When I saw the sign outside it said Thai - Med, then I was a bit dubious.It was a nice little restaurant, so if you don't want your food too spicy then this restaurant is fine

This place is a little gem. Great menu- Spanish & Thai tapas. Friendly staff and great value for money. The food is of a consistently high standard. I like spicy food and the jungle curry is amazing.
