If you’re going to charge nearly £15 for 2 shandies please at least clean the toilets. The smell of drains was so strong you could smell it coming up the stairs and not a single cubicle had loo roll in them. Staff seemed annoyed with me for pointing it out they needed restocking. Shame as it’s a prime location on broadway market - should be a great spot for a sunny day.

Went for sons 40th happy birthday and we couldn't have chosen a better place to go. The bar staff were absolutely superb. There were 9 of us for lunch, all served at the same time, food was stunning and what really got us they were all hot (not microwave hot, real hot). The prices were fair, it's not cheap but very well worth the money (sorry for poor English ,but I'm Welsh🤣) If we lived in or around this pub I'd have Sunday lunch there every weekend.. I thank the staff very much for looking after us in way they did

I went to the Cow and Mutton for a Sunday roast and the food was really lovely, good portion sizes of glazed belly pork and extra large Yorkshires to die for. The music was 90s Rnb which gave great vibes, but the star of the show is the Manager Aaron, his hospitality is exceptional his energy and professionalism is elite. His personality is perfection, you feel valued as a customer. If your looking for a good time with a laid back atmosphere with great food and a fabulous host this is the place to be.

French woman looking for the British guy she met at the Cat & Mutton, Broadway Market (London, a few years ago) This is a long shot, but I have to try. I’m French, and I met a British guy one evening a few years ago at the Cat & Mutton, Broadway Market in London. He had just come back from the U.S., and we ended up talking for hours—one of those rare, effortless connections you don’t forget. I didn’t ask for his number, but I’ve always regretted it. I was with a group of friends that night, and he was with someone too. If you see this and remember me, tell me who you were with so I know it’s you. I’d love to reconnect!

I really want to love this pub, so it is a shame to give the following review. My recent experience has terrified me. Yorkshire pudding had a long brown hair wedged into the batter (yuck). I did let this one go. Shortly after I found an actual STONE in my food. Yes, I had chewed on it, and I’m scared to know what the dental bill is going to be, as I went full crunch in it. Ouch. Initially, I thought it was maybe and extremely burnt bit of potato, but having bitten down on this, and inspecting it with the waitress, this was a in fact a stone. I have eaten here before and been really happy with the food. Service was great and the staff seemed genuine when they apologised to me (not their fault), but this does give me reasonable doubt around the hygiene of the kitchen. Yuck. They will be getting the dentist bill because a filling has definitely shattered 😫

I like this pub... but it is a bit on the pricey side... £20 for a roast, the food is well cooked and tasty but the portion isnt great... one half carrot, one half turnip and a tablespoon of what i presume to be swede... hidden under the obligatory giant yorkshire pudding, meat portion was reasonable, but why not more veg? Pints are at the upper price for London which is usual for a trendy part of town. Staff are always friendly in my experience.

I had the Roast Beef with Horseradish but TBH the Horseradish was more like a mayo. It had zero heat to it and not much flavour. I may be wrong but the Yorkshire Puds were not homemade but bought in so lacked flavour. I love the fact the place is dog friendly although pooch was a little unsure of the spiral staircase. Don’t book your party here! Hugely disappointing experience at the Cat and Mutton. Me and my fiancé booked an engagement party at the venue. We had preordered buckets of drink and reserved a space upstairs. When we arrived the staff didn’t seem aware that we were coming and we were sat in an area that was way too small for our party. The staff also didn’t seem aware of the preordered drinks. Once the drinks came out it was 6 in a bucket instead of the 12 we had paid for. We assumed that the rest would be brought out soon. However, as the night went on and nothing happened, we went to talk to the staff which were completely oblivious. They informed us they would talk to their manager on duty. Time went on and nothing happened. Our guests had to start ordering their own drinks - which we wanted to avoid by providing them with the buckets. Eventually more buckets turned up without as much as an apology. Additionally, the cider we ordered was Moat, but the ones we received were Bulmer’s (which I find undrinkable). From start to finish it was a very disappointing experience. We preordered drinks and tables to relieve stress from our party - but the poor service from the staff made it more stressful than if we had just walked in and bought our drinks from the bar.

We had a very disappointing experience at this pub. Which is a real shame as it got such a good location.... but I think that's the only thing which keeps it going! The selection of wine is poor considering it is in such a foodie/drinks area. I ordered a wine, and the glass was dirty with the previous person's lipstick and food on it. Gross... I returned to the bar where the server took a new glass and proceeded to pore either water or soda from the postmix dispense gun over the glass....alarm bell 1! They wiped the rim of the glass with some blue roll and poured a new glass of wine. This glass was Unfortunately worse than the first... I went back to my table where the sun gleamed through the window and my new 'polished' glass revealing every bit of food partials on the glass. Honestly, it was comical and grimm at the same time. Ignoring the warning signs, my partner and I ordered food. Which we were told would be a minimum 30-minute wait.. The food arrived later, and it was honestly so disappointing... two roast potatoes, half a small carrot and half a small parsnip... but the meat was awful... the pork was jelly.... top crackling was soggy, and the beef was inedible and couldn't be cut with a knife. I went to the bar to ask to speak to a manager, and the staff were perched at the end of the bar on a laptop and the other eating their lunch. I asked if I could speak to the manager, and she replied ' why is it the toilets? ' Honestly, I almost laughed as it wasn't the toilets, but obviously, the toilets are also an issue... oh lordy...I have been here before and used the facilities that are in need of some TLC, to say the least... but no, I replied its not the toilets... anyway, we asked for a refund, left the drinks and food, and headed to the Virgin Queen down the road! This venue needs some serious operational input or at least a manager with their EYE on the business! Will be spending my hard earned money elsewhere!

We had a mixed experience when coming to the Cat & Mutton for our group Christmas meal last month. We each paid a £10 deposit and unfortunately one member of the group caught Covid so couldn’t come. I called ahead to make them aware but upon arrival no one seemed to know about this and we were told by the manager that we would have to cover the full cost of the meal. There is no mention anywhere in the booking policy that this will be the case (trust me I checked!) so just be aware that if you cannot attend you will be liable for the £10 deposit and the full price of the meal. The meal itself was nice and the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant area were all really polite and attentive during a busy period, but we all felt that this particular issue could have been handled a lot better.

Our bill had service charge applied and when it came to paying I asked to pay the bill with no service. This was not due to anything being wrong with the service and I told the waitress that everything was fine. She questioned us about it again to which I then felt I had to express it was due financial situations. We paid the bill and the waitress walked to another colleague 5 metres away from us and we could hear them talking about how we didn’t pay the service. I felt very judge and disappointed that this had caused such a fuss to them when it is an optional payment. It was a shame this happened because the atmosphere and food was good.

We had the roast in a pub in Battersea, while the veg was fab, the meat was shocking. Pork, chicken and duck were dry, the beef looked amazing but it could not be cut or chewed so was inedible. It was clearly not slow roasted for 9 hours! Definitely not worth your time or money ... avoid!

Properly good food in a cozy-yet cold, light-but-dark venue, housed in an old car garage. The folding doors to the garage were half open when we visited on a beautiful spring Sunday lunchtime and the front of the restaurant was bathed in light. We sat at the bar and had a cosier, darker perch. Food is sort-of sharing plates. No delineation between starters and mains - you have to use the price as a guesstimate. That said, the salads we had were generously sized, as were the principal plates, so this isn’t a tiny plates venue. Food was the star. Generously plated, interesting combinations - made us feel that the chef liked to cook and wasn’t just going through the hipster motions. Wine list is well-formed and inventive, not ploughing the usual furrow. Service was fine - bit slow at times but friendly. I think it was the end of Sunday lunch vibe. Positively there was no hurrying or time-pressure so really relaxing. Cosy, tasty and interesting - well worth a visit.

Best roast of my life. Porchetta obviously made by a very handsome chef.

The food is good but the rude challenge about using the toilet facility both before and after using the toilet left a very foul taste.
