We visited town Montgomery with our friends from Slovakia and after visiting the castle we decided to have a break for coffee and cakes. It's in the middle of the town. From the front there is only a window and door and small table with two chairs in front of the cafe. Entering you can see a small shop and kitchen but behind is a nice garden seating area. We ordered 2x herb scone, lemon cake and summer pudding , 2x double espresso, cappuccino and breakfast tea. We wanted something else to the scones so the lady offered us to make a cheese/veg/chutney plate which was very tasty with the scone. I don't know the total cost of our order as our friends paid it. There is a single toilet for customers and it was clean. If we will come again we will visit this place.

My Wife and I stopped here for lunch whilst cycling in area. When we arrived there were several push bikes outside, always a good sign. We both ordered flat whites and soup of the day which was mushroom served with a savory scone. Everything was homemade and delicious. Couldn’t resist cake afterwards, we shared carrot cake and coffee and walnut. Again all homemade and delicious. All ladies were cheerful and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended. What a delight. Wood burning stove and excellent Bara Brith with very good coffee. They have a wide variety of local food produce the more exotic preserves and treats. Good local cider on sale. Plenty of parking in the town square. The customers were an additional joy with good old fashioned country folk with highly unusual tales to tell that will serve us for conversation with friends for some time to come. Friendly staff and no dogs in the limited space. A place to savour and to make a visit memorable.

Visiting the Welshpool area and not inspired by the food offerings. Came to Montgomery partly because of the reviews for this cafe and wanting tasty healthy food. Sooooo worth it. The only table available was on the path out front but was in the shade which suited me. The quiche and salad was excellent- thin crisp pastry, tasty light filling. Thanks to other reviewers for mentioning the carrot cake- I couldn’t see any but asked and it was hiding in the fridge. It is the best ever. The cafe/shop sell a recipe book- sadly the carrot cake recipe is not in it or I would have bought it for that alone.

Came across this little cafe by accident. We ate upstairs in very quirky room. Food was excellent and plentiful. We all had different things. Quiche very good and salads very colourful and had a lovely selection. The staff were friendly. Lovely selection of local produce. The welsh cider and the carrot cake were some of the best we have tasted. It gave us the fuel to tackle the big hill up to the castle.

This place looked delightful when we walked into the outdoor sunny courtyard. It was not busy and the chairs and tables had bird poo on them and there wasnt adequate shading from hot sun. To top this the coffee was the worst we've had for a long time.

One of my favourite cafes in the Montgomeryshire area is clearly feeling the effects of staff shortages as is everywhere else at the moment. But despite the slow service the staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and doing their very best despite their inexperience. The food is as delicious as ever, I had a wonderful creamy perlas quiche with salad followed by a gorgeous soft and crunchy gluten free brownie and the hot spiced apple was delicious. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for small establishments to keep going at the moment with the very many different pressures on them, especially staffing, but I am very glad that this is one establishment that persists.

Joined friends for lunch waited nearly an hour for food to arrive, we had booked in advance but it didn’t appear busy.Having eaten here few times in the past and enjoyed previous visits was looking forward to our choices : per las quiche with salad and ploughmans. Quiche very bland considering the blue cheese ingredient.Salads accompanying ploughman’s grated carrot with possibly???cumin in, grated beetroot both soggy sad and tasteless and apple slices that were inedible. Very disappointed in service and food quality, shan’t rush back, we did point out the above to waitress and apology given for the apple quality !

We used to enjoy calling in here whenever visiting from Ludlow as the coffee was fab! They have clearly changed to a (cheaper?) brand which is barely drinkable. We've tried it a few times during the last year and now given up. We've had poor service and and the place is so cold despite having a woodburner! It's rarely lit and whenever it is, seems neglected so it goes out leaving customers freezing! So disappointed as this was our favourite family place to go in Montgomery.

We were visiting Montgomery and we called in to this small cafe for morning coffee, there was a nice fire, but its a shame the welcome wasn't as warm or friendly. You would have expected much better, especially in a tourist town, they need to wise up that being friendly is a must in a service industry. The coffee was average, nothing to write home about but not particularly cheap either.

We called in first for a mid morning drink of hot chocolate. This was about 10 am and we looked at the menu and decided to return for lunch. The hot chocolate was very nice indeed. When we returned the place was very busy and we sat in the courtyard at the back...great surroundings for a great lunch! Herb and cheese scone (to die for) with cheese, chutney and salad. The salad was beautifully fresh with a light dressing and the carrot salad was exceptional. The cheese was Worcester Hop ( a lovely Welsh creamy texture) with a lovely taste. The spicy tomato and caramelised onion chutney complemented the rest of the dish. We were able to buy both the cheese and the chutney form their small deli to take home with us. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the staff were friendly and helpful. The gluten free bread was the best we have ever tasted and the eggs were fresh and perfectly cooked. Had a nice amount of salad with crisps and it was just enough. Lovely little place, and the lady serving was efficient and very friendly and for three adults and one youngster who no drinks it came to just over £30 which I thought wasn't a bad price for the quality of the food and quick service. Will definitely be back.

Friendly service with good food. Nice garden area at the back when the weather is good. Well situated in the square in Montgomery so easy to park.

Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.

Passing through on a biking challenge over the weekend we found this cosy authentic welsh pub. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the beer selection was perfect and they couldn’t do more for us! Would definitely return if in the area again!

Whilst I usually promote Deli-Licious as a good place to go if you have a Gluten Free (GF) diet, I was recently disappointed by their GF afternoon tea. I was pleased to hear they offered a GF afternoon tea but was left feeling let down by the poor selection and presentation. The normal afternoon tea was presented on either a picnic bench or a three tiered serving stand, mine was just put on a plate with no effort to make it look like everyone else’s in the group, making me feel like an outcast. At a cost of £16.95, it certainly wasn’t value for money.

The best breakfast for a Good 15 miles, honestly cannot fault it. Cooked to order every time and super tasty. No dried up bacon or tinned mushrooms here thanks!
