Great local pub. Superb beer and atmosphere. Landlords knowledgeable and friendly. Hosts music festival and community clubs, e.g. a cycling club. Visit if you like a proper boozer

My partner and I were here on a Saturday at lunch time and we can confirm that there is absolutely no food served in this pub. Food is served at the White Lion Inn, just up (down) the High Street. The Castle Hotel does have a nice atmosphere and friendly staff and patrons. A nice place to stop for a pint.

The Castle Hotel is a cosy pub restaurant at the top of the main street in Bradninch. I have dropped in a number of times when in the area, usually for an excellent pint of beer, but also for the food. It is a very reasonably priced menu, with traditional English food, served away from the main bar area. Parking in Bradninch is quite difficult in the evenings, but there is a public car park near the pub (go to the bottom of the hill (heading for Cullompton) and follow the signs, and then cut through the footpath to Fore Street). This is a good place to come for a reasonable night out - eat early, enjoy the excellent beer, sit by the roaring fire, and have a pleasant evening in the "local". The pub does host music nights and other events, so best to ring and check first.

Rude, arrogant and insulting to the extreme. Very poor service and felt very intimidating. The others in the town are far superior

Stopped off whilst travelling up the M5. We rang ahead to book but although fairly busy there were lots of available tables. Had the veggie roast which was pretty good. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Telephoned to book and said that we may be bringing a dog. We were told that dogs were not allowed in the dining room which was fair enough, however we could eat in the bar. As there were 5 of us we decided not to take the dog and I rang and told them so and asked to book the dining area. When we arrived I went to the dining area to be greeted by a rather large dog, (which turned out to be the owners,) which was slobbering everywhere as it walked around the room. I then found out that we had been put in the bar. We then had to walk through the dining room to where the food was being served and then back into the bar which was becoming busy. We were sat around a table in the middle of the bar with people constantly back and forth. It was a nightmare. Needless to say we won’t be returning
