The owner was so lovely, he let my daughter feed the fish. Had bottled water and lollies out for customers for free. Such a lovely man and atmosphere. We got the new munchie box for £25. The food was all lovely, we couldn’t fault it especially the salted chilli chips. The only thing I’d say is it’s a bit over priced in comparison to others for a bigger box but other than that it was great! My partner said it was the best Chinese he’s had in a while.

I’ve been eating out of Castle hill for the past couple of months and I’ve tried various dishes. I can honestly say I can’t complain about anything I’ve tried so far. The new owner Joe is a lovely man and desk staff are really pleasant at all times that I’ve ordered. Will def be back to try another dish next week.

Won't be back, I don't mind paying extra money for fresh good quality meat. Food wasn't cooked fresh. Chips undercooked. My meal was chewy and wife's didn't enjoy hers either. The ribs were cut into pieces couldn't even eat the meat on the bone as there was hardly meat on it. When I did get my teeth into meat it was hard and tasted of pernod alcohol. Food was ready in 15mins I usually wait 40 mins that's how I know it was cooked earlier in the day. Won't be back lost a loyal customer.

New owners, food not up to normal standard. Most of my meal went in the bin. Will not be ordering again.

Terrible. Never again. Food arrived cold over an hour from delivery. Zero communication regarding delivery times or updates. Unacceptable. Called to complain and the response was equally as unacceptable. "Eh traffic and we were busy" zero concept of customer service skills/complaint handling. I provided an opportunity for them to remediate the problem and the response was "do what you want" and then hung up the phone. Completely unacceptable on all grounds. Won't be back.

Ordered food . Arrived cold rang shop to complain and see about getting new food . Laughed down phone and hung up. Rang back and he said nothing I can do . It was £25 worth absolute disgrace. Will never be ordering from this place again

Very nice Chinese fresh chicken not processed nice owner

I have been a loyal customer over 30 years. I’m so disappointed that my order tonight was not good at all.

We got a delivery Thursday 26th September. Firstly, we were charged £4 for delivery (it says on their menu, £3 within 3 mile radius, we’re 1.9 miles away) The salted chilli chicken was okay. The sweet & sour battered chicken was quite good. The chicken curry sauce tasted as if it was made from a powder. We felt that it was expensive for what we got, bumped up by a pricey delivery charge (places in Botantic, almost 5 miles away, charge £2.70 to deliver to us) We will not order from here again.

Wouldn't go anywhere else I have being going to Sam's for over 30 odd years as do my grown up children 😁

Prices are getting ridiculous, got a delivery earlier which was £42...unbelievable, mandarin city just up the road is cheaper...plus portion sizes are questionable, only 3/4 filled with sauce in the chicken curry and and only a foil carton of fried rice...only Chinese I know that doesn't give u a full plastic tub of rice in 2024....food quality it always good...but thats it..everything else is wrong...

First time ordering tonight after looking for a local chinese. Definitely didnt disappoint at all. Other half loved the chicken cashew nuts and the chicken curry was the best ive had in a while. Duck spring rolls are something else. Think we've found our regular we'll go to from now on

Brilliant food for a reasonable price, the owner is great for talking while you wait, plus there is sofas and a TV.

Have only recently started ordering from here but every time we have not been disappointed. The food is so fresh and quality of the meat is second to none. No chewy beef yay! The spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had from a Chinese takeaway. The owner is so friendly. Yes there can be a little bit of a wait but this doesn’t bother us when we know the meal is gonna be so worth it. Everything is always piping hot. Trust me, if you live in East Belfast you need to give this wee gem a go. It’s delicious!

Wonderful food in this popular takeaway. Same owners for many years, with a reputation for serving quality, fresh food. Sam, the owner, serves behind the counter and is always well groomed in wearing a shirt, tie, and sports jacket. Nice decor and kept very clean. My go-to for Chinese takeaway...never disappoints.

If I could give 6 stars I would! Absolutely amazing! Sam is an amazing and lovely person..My partner used to get food from here all the time so this is why I tried it and oh my! We got chicken fried rice, beef in black bean sauce and it was absolutely exceptional! We definitely will be back. Thank you so so much..

Collect from here regularly but they won’t deliver to an address 7 minutes away from their premises despite being inside their own stated delivery radius 🙄 so in summary they don’t actually have a delivery service

Probably the best Chinese food we have had in years Beef in black bean sauce was fantastic Meat was tender not the usual chewy stuff Sweat and sour chicken Cantonese style was so tasty with a lot less batter than normal Chips ( I know but) perfect. crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside Spring rolls, smaller than we are used to But crisp and not greasy!! And tasted wonderful A bit dearer than others but welll worth it We'll be back 😀😀😀😀😀

I love this Take away. The food is lovely and Sam is such a Gentleman. Unfortunately though, I have been told at 5.30 on two occasions that I would have to wait 3 hrs on delivery. I really feel that another pair of hands at front desk would be a big help. Really disappointed, that so early in in the evening I couldn't get any food for such a long period of time.

Sam, the owner, is absolutely lovely and a real gentleman. Amazing food which you can tell is all made from fresh ingredients. The kung po chicken is so tasty. We'll definitely be back.

I have lived in Ballyhackamore all of my life, and over the years I’ve been a regular of pretty much everywhere else but here, until now. Something so simple as chicken fried rice tastes extremely fresh and succulent, it puts the rest to shame. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. The owner is a very dapper, absolute gent - love it! Keep up the great work!

I'm sure this is the longest standing Chinese in Northern Ireland and easy to see why. Sam is an absolute gentleman and the food is fantastic.

I have been here 2 times now, 2 days in a row, it was that good. I had to come back the 2nd day to make sure it wasn't a fluke. The food here is really tasty, better than any other Chinese takeaway in this area. Pity I have lived here for 1 year and only discovered this place now. The owner is very nice too. Tried a few local chinese takesaways after moving to Belfast recently. I think this is my new favourite/go to. Food was absolutely great! Don’t mind the wait when your getting good quality and portion size!

Tried here tonight an the service was excellent, Sam is such a gentleman who greets you with a big smile on his face. The shop itself is decorated lovely an so clean, just what you want to see when in a food establishment. The food was absolutely delicious, I can not fault any of what we had tonight which was salted chilli chicken, chicken curry & a starter of the smoked chilli chicken & garlic with rice chips and noddles! You can tell all their food is made from scratch so fresh & so tasty, the portion sizes are huge too. We will definitely be back for our weekly takeaway and I 💯% recommend Cabin Hill.

Ordered two beef curries with rice, was assured the beef was quality but when we got home was disappointed with the tenderness. It was more like frying steak thinly cut. There was also seemingly alot of salt to the taste and couldn't enjoy it. Quite disappointed and the search for a decent takeaway continues. Two years later we receive a reply, nothing to do with waiting time or prep, i was the only customer and it doesnt solve the poor beef problem we recieved.

Tasty great value Chinese takeaway food, all prepared for you when you order, with fresh ingredients. Large portions. Really friendly and helpful server. For me personally this is the best Chinese around, I have never been disappointed. I would recommend the salt and chilli prawns with crispy batter.
