Had lunch there today.Wife had the gammon I had the roast beef.Absolutely fantastic meal I've never had so much roast beef on a plate anywhere,wife's gammon was a great size to.Plate was full of lovely food.Beef tender and gammon as well.

It look lovely and the staff are very helpful. The scone I ordered was clearly frozen and microwaved as some parts of it was rock solid. If you can't get right a scone what else can't they get right in the kitchen!

A Thursday evening in January. A gem of a place. 2 minutes from Stena Line ports and just off the M2. I have such good things to say about this beautifully rustic bar, with kitch history at every turn. From local hero George Best memorabilia to retro pub marketing posters and the like. A well kept pint is on offer to enjoy as your eyes pick out the curiosities on display everywhere. A smiling welcome and great table service is there in abundance. What about the food? In short, it is very good, very large and amazing value. I really enjoyed the Prawn Cocktail. I have never had a portion of prawns like it, even at home. Then to the mixed gril... My word. Chicken, steak, bacon sausage, black pudding, eggs, REAL onion rings and home cooked chips. My colleague had slow cooked beef that was as big as beef joints I'd carve on a Sunday. It was genuinely lovely. Quality meat, the local supplier of which is detailed on the menu, showing the local supply and pride in the produce used. I pass regularly, and will go here every time 100%. It has the History, value, quality, service and charm I associate with Northern Irland I definitely recommend.

Ordered steak and Guiness pie it came out it was huge top was hot but inside cold, gravy wasn’t good either on the up side staff were nice

As we were early for our ferry sailing because of the weather we found this pub not far from the terminal & decided to go for something to eat and drink we ordered 2 pate's a glass of wine & a pint of Guinness 00 reasonably priced. Would make a point of coming again before we set sail.

A party of three adults staying overnight in Belfast, one vegan and one with medical dietary restrictions, we were unfamiliar with the area so went with the nearest place that had vegan and other options on the menu. Portside Inn is a nice but unpretentious place, parking available (although apparently only for 2 hours) the menu currently being served I'd different from the one online, so I was initially thrown. The very kind and attentive staff offered any number of accommodations. I was served a plain piece of chicken but so well cooked and seasoned it was a treat. All the food that came was excellent. Would highly recommend, good variety of very tasty food and lovely staff.

We took our dog Alfie in with us and she was spoilt rotten. It is so nice to find a venue that is truly pet friendly and the food was delicious with large portions!

Had a surprise dinner for husbands big birthday. Food was beautiful, service was fantastic. Staff are always lovely there. Nothing was too much for them. Special shout out to Will for helping arrange everything. We will be back again for sure!

nice bar/restaurant in the docks. cheap and cheerful - good food with good portion size, and at a good price. not a gastopub of course but what it does it does well.

Went to mad about fabrics with friends. Called into here for a quick bite to eat. I'm coeliac and chef was great letting me know what I could have from menu. We went for small platters, absolutely lovely food. Staff lovely, very busy keeping the bar clean and fresh, very good at making sure we were OK. Would go back again and recommend.

We were on the Stena night sailing, stopped here for a meal. Great friendly staff and service. Good food. Clean facilities. We sat outside as a lovely, sunny evening. The only problem was a persistent wee wasp, but that's the joy of eating outside and totally beyond Portside Inn's control. Great deal on the rump steak meal for 2 people, and it tasted great.

Great stop off in motorhome before the early morning ferry. Always a friendly welcome great pints and food. Steak night Friday and Saturday 👍

I wasn't expecting a great deal as it is situated next to the exit for the ferry terminal, but the food was fantastic and the service was great. Lots of memorabilia from ships and old local beers on the walls.

What a find. Headed to the ferry and time to kill and hungry. This place was fabulous.

Great place with outdoors seating area staff is good and very patient with large group. I didn't have much to eat as I was out early in the morning for a walk with the group and ended up having coffee. For vegetarians, they have only lasagne, which I do not fancy, so I didn't order food.

Food is exceptional and never disappoints! Best Sunday dinners in Newtownabbey and such big portions for the main meals! Staff are so welcoming and friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate you. The bar is dog friendly and perfect to finish your walk of with a drink watching the world go by. The steak night is a must try! Really can't recommend this place enough!

Food Was Delicious And There Was Plenty Of It.. We Decided To Call In After 5 On A Sunday Afternoon And Were going to Seated Right Away. The Waiter Took Our Order And Got Served Within Minute.. The Starters Of Butternut Squash And BBQ Chicken Wings Were Lovely And Generous.. The Roast Beef And The Honey Chilli Chicken Were Well Worth The Money.. I Would Highly Recommend This Place And Would Be Going Again.

Great size portions and very tasty, Apple crumble with custard was amazing and think fella called Will ( proper friendly and courteous)looked after us all when we piled in soaking wet from a scooter rally we'd just ridden back from,,, cheers and would definitely recommend

1st going to portside, but heard good reports and I took a couple of friends heading for the ferry for breakfast and it was all excellent from start to finish and the prices where very competitive & fare, highly recommend

Best we place to call into after work for a pint the Guinness on tap is probably one of the nicest you will come across we have still yet to try the food but it does look and smell delicious

Staff so friendly always so welcoming ,the owners our so lovely ,Matthew head of house such a friendly bloke. They all have time for each individual customer. We always come back for not just the food for the crack. Food outstanding as always , Davy the chef knows his .... for sure ,always out does himself. Main gorgeous meal for 2 & 4 craft beers £57.60,brilliant price. Love the menu changes regularly 😋 Looking forward to Valentines night ,menu sounds bliss.❤️

my self and my partner called into the port side inn for a bit of late lunch an mon the 22nd of jan around 2pm. i had the roast beef and my partner had the pork belly. the food was amazing and i am not exaggerating. the pork and the beef melted in your mout and the sides were cooked to perfection. we will defenatly be back and we couldn’t recommend the food enough compliments to the chef. Went to portside inn on Saturday 25th November with my partner and my son who's has severe learning disabilities/ is non-verbal, we had an amazing experience. a lovely member of staff (did not get her name) she had short blonde hair was amazing with our son, she heard him etc distressed at the hand dryer in toilet and brought him blue roll to dry his hands, and took her time to talk and look at all the lights with him while I was sorting out bags to leave, when we visited the music was not to loud either. anyone who has a child with special needs know how stressful it can be going out for meals and how rare it is to go somewhere and be treated with such kindness, highly recommend and will definitely be back!! Food was lovely and homely food aswell :) x

Amazing food the Sunday roast is the best about nice friendly atmosphere and staff couldn’t be any nicer make you feel welcome.

Food was relatively expensive, However it was bloody delicious. The atmos mid tier starring is maybe unfair. Relates only to when we were there, Sunday early evening maybe not to be be an expected busy time of day. The question I always ask is would we go back? That is a definite yes.

Recently went for the steak night 2 meals for £25, service was fast and friendly nothing was too much hassle and the food was devoured! Really tasty, not our first or last time here. Great for a bite to eat and a nice cold drink! A very good menu with variety and anything ordered so far on our visits has been superb ! Lovely seating area outside which you can relax looking up to the cave hill mountain, nice chilled atmosphere

The food was full of grease and the flys in the restaurant was wild Landing all over the food. Very unhygienic

Enjoyed a delicious meal at the Portside Inn as part of their steak night special. Amazing food and so affordable. The service was fantastic and the staff were all so friendly - especially our waiter, Will, who was extremely complimentary and made us feel very looked after.

We had a short time to grab a decent meal before taking the ferry to Cairnryan. Called ahead and ordered. They had the table and food ready for us. The battered cod was excellent (my wife and I) and the vegetarian daughter described her pasta as pretty good. Bartender/server was great. Place is comfortable and clean.

Awesome setting a incredible food. Lived here all my life and didn't know this wee gem existed! Only stopped by as the we were out running errands and felt hungry and the missus spotted Gregg's. So glad we chose here for some 'proper sit down grub'! Staff were all excellent and the food was some of the best pub grub I've had in a long time!

We have been eating here for many many years and the food is beautiful, the staff are brilliant and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. Sitting outside when the sun is out is the best! Inside you are greeted with historical items of belfast which is really great to look at! The drinks are great and well priced and the food quality is just great for the price. We all love this location and cannot wait to return on Monday :))
