Castello Cafe Bistro in East Renfrewshire

Tuve una experiencia muy pobre aquí hoy, mientras que con mi madre y mis dos hijos, cuatro y uno. Me había sentado con la intención de comprar almuerzo y pasteles para mí, mi madre y mi pequeño, sin embargo, una camarera de mediana edad se acercó a nosotros, ya que había discrepado con el hecho de que yo había alimentado a mi hijo de un año un almuerzo para llevar. Dijo que mi pequeña no podía comer esto ya que la política de la compañía era que solo se consumieran los alimentos comprados en el café. Cuestioné que este fuera el caso de una niña de un año y ella parecía irritada y repetía lo mismo, al tiempo que afirmaba que no consideraría lo que estaba alimentando a mi hijo como alimento para bebés (un crosissant de queso crema y un bocadillo de cocina Ella). Expresé mi sorpresa y el hecho de que en mis 4 años como padre nunca he experimentado que me dijeran que no puedo alimentar a mi bebé. Les expliqué que las opciones de los niños no eran adecuados para un niño de un año (grandes porciones a £ 7 de artículos como pollo goujons o dedos de pescado y patatas fritas). No existe la opción de un arenero o un alrernativo más pequeño en su sección infantil que esté claramente dirigido a los niños mayores. Mi madre procedió entonces a cuestionar esto de nuevo y la camarera fue bastante discutible y sugirió que podríamos haber pedido su comida del menú de adultos, de nuevo ¿por qué haríamos esto por un niño de un año que es poco probable que pueda terminar la comida? Hemos estado en este mismo café muchas veces y en otras ocasiones nos ha servido esta misma camarera mientras que mi más joven comió un almuerzo similar. La misma camarera nunca mencionó esto como un problema anteriormente, seguramente si esta es la política de la compañía, entonces debería ser consistentemente así? Entiendo totalmente que el café tiene una regla para no traer comida de otro lugar pero seguramente se debe hacer una excepción para un niño de esta edad? O, como mínimo, el menú debe adaptarse para ofrecer alternativas adecuadas y adecuadas a la edad antes de que pueda esperarse esta regla. Además, la capacitación del personal puede ser aconsejable para garantizar que las políticas de la empresa se sigan de manera coherente y que el personal que desempeña una función de servicio al cliente tenga la manera adecuada en lugar de ser acusatorio y grosero. Después de haber sido un cliente durante mucho tiempo tanto dentro de la cafetería, contratando la sala de recepción en un momento para una exposición y también mi padre recientemente comenzó a llevar a mi pequeño a utilizar el campo de golf que ahora como familia no tenemos interés en volver.

Yo y un amigo recientemente visitamos este café después de una ronda de golf. Compré una botella de coca y mi amigo compró un pastel. Luego procedimos a la zona de estar que estaba medio vacía y tenía muchas mesas libres. Sin embargo, cuando nos sentamos, un miembro del personal bastante grosero nos dijo que teníamos que movernos, ya que habíamos pedido nuestro pastel como una opción para llevar. Quedamos impactados por esto ya que cuando compramos el pastel ni una vez nos preguntaron si estábamos sentados o para llevar. El miembro del personal nos trató como clientes y no mostró ningún signo de respeto. ¡Ciertamente no tendría prisa por volver!

El almuerzo de hoy fue como siempre genial. Servida por Katy era educada y eficiente. Respaldado por Hannah. Penne arribata estaba delicioso. Seguido de pastel de chocolate. Silla de ruedas amigable. Gracias de nuevo

We live nearby so decided to take our 4 year old and my niece.hubbie took my wee one over to look at ice cream flavours and got told off by brown haired middle age waitress who told him to sit down and they would be over soon to take order!not a great start.then said lady came over to take our order and was rolling her eyes and humming impatiently at indecisiveness of my admittedly slightly trying 4 year old.made us feel stupid when asked for ice cream which she decided was gelato but then realised was just a scoop of ice cream we wanted.very impatient and took off before we had even ordered the cheese sandwich!so my husband had to chase after her to order that too!then watched her greet other Guedes who were clearly regulars really warmly and friendly. Not impressed at all.took forever to bring the bill and then just as we were about to leave she decided to pay us attention.soured my enjoyment which wasn’t great anyway as quite a busy slightly cliquey spot.shame as we so close by.wont be hurrying back!

Had a lovely lunch at the cafe. Served by nayree (excuse the spelling) and hannah. Penne arribata followed by chocolate fudge cake. So nice and friendly. The golf club attached let's me use some special parking if the disabled bays are full. They also have great automatic doors as my wife uses a wheel chair. The weather was sunny so a great experience. Thanks again.

I have used this cafe for many many years. 3 times a week when playing golf and during the afternoon with my wife. The staff are so attentive. Their busy but they always have time for a wee talk. Hannah, dave , nyree [excuse the spelling] Laura and many more. Lovely people. Food is great. Breakfast lunch or dinner. My wife loves pasta and she can't wait to have lunch or dinner at the cafe. It's easy to post bad reviews when things may go wrong but I hope the many many many people that use the cafe take a wee bit of time and post the good reviews. Highly recommend this cafe/ restaurant. And by the way great prices. Thanks again and see you very soon.

Always in for breakfast after a round of golf great place to go staff are really good. Food and drinks are always up to a good standard

The food in this cafe is always lovely & soup of the day is a must! Staff are so friendly & helpful. Plus a fabulous view! Early evening set menu is great value!

As a member of the adjoining golf club, my friends and I are regular visitors to the cafe . In particular, the staff are amazing , very friendly and service is always first class even when rushed off their feet . There is a very good choice of food on offer , whether you just want a coffee and a sandwich or a full meal . I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others .

I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast, generous portions, fantastic surroundings. Great customer service. Highly recommended!

Had been using the driving range and as it was lunchtime so decided to eat here . Staff were friendly and the food was good . Soup and a sandwich was all we wanted and the quality and quantity were fine .. the place was busy so it’s obviously popular . Maybe grab a beer the next time I’m here .

My first experience of Castello was enjoying a latte after a round of golf. Since then, I visit frequently for lunch and coffee with friends after a round and at many other times as well. The staff are super-friendly and accommodating. The service is great, and the food is extremely good. The burgers are the best I have ever tasted! I have never had a disappointing experience in the two or three years I have been using the facility. I would highly recommend it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a coffee with friends. You won’t be disappointed!

Sat at our table appropriately 7:20pm,2 adults 2kids ordered 3 starters and 4 mains!! Starters arrived promptly decent enough quality problem was place closes at 8pm (which if someone had said we might have not sat down in the first place)starter plates whipped away from each person as they individually finished their starter. Mains unbelievable,1 main missing as it arrived (10 minutes later) the waitress started asking if we were finished with the other plates when clearly there was still food on them. Then wait for it at precisely 8:02 was presented with the BILL while I’m still eating the pizza that was missing UNBELIEVABLE! (Thankfully we didn’t want coffee or dessert)Bad policy you sat us down you wanted the MONEY, I couldn’t careless if you wanted to cash up at precisely closing time SO RUDE !! Poor waitress (young girl) sent out to do all dirty work. Senior management too cowardly to approach ! Shame food decent!! Think some training on restaurant/bistro manners would be appropriate! Been here before owner a little rude maybe it his way of doing things however can’t let this slide absolutely ridiculous .

We frequently visited this place for lunch which usually was very enjoyable and relaxing however we have noticed in recent weeks things are going downhill. Today was the last visit for lunch as food quality and most of all quantity was poor. Fish & Chips !! Fish was very small and tasteless handful of chips were ok and usual veg was missing. Sorry but won't be back for lunch maybe just drinks.

On arrival with 40 minutes to spare before an appointment, I asked the waiter (a tall young man with dark hair, very polite) if I would have time for a drink and a bite to eat. He assured me that I would and asked what I would like to drink. I ordered a coffee and sat at a table to study the menu. My coffee was placed promptly on my table by an older gentleman with no hair and before I had time to look up and thank him or ask for something to eat, he was gone! I had asked for a shot of sugar free caramel syrup in my coffee if that was available, but he did not take the time to confirm that the coffee had syrup in it or not - it did not but that was ok as I always carry sweeteners with me. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not very busy, it was fully thirty minutes before the first waiter appeared again to ask if I would like to order some food, by which time I was ready to leave for my appointment. I later discovered that the older gentleman was the owner - well he can't be keen to build up custom with his cursory attitude. I am most unlikely to darken the door ever again.
