Cassia in North Tyneside

Usually we go for lunch and never been a problem but today was different we ordered drinks and she could have broke glass the way was put on table we ordered garlic bread and potato skins to share the other lad would have brought us plates we had use big ones our starters we hadn’t finished before our main was put on table I have never felt so unwelcome

Came here on a Monday night as a party of four. We had potato skins and garlic bread as staters. Three had a pasta dish and I tried the pizza. All of us agreed that the quality of food was superb and the quantity was just right. The pizza was thin crust and one of the best pizzas I have had outside Italy. I only wish that I had known that the garlic bread was in fact a garlic bread pizza style starter, I would have changed my order to a pasta dish. Along with the food, we had two soft drinks and two alcoholic drinks and were pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced the meal was. We would definitely back here again and would actually divert to eat here if we could. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Save your money, what a dump. Toilets are disgusting. Paint flaking off walls & food on the walls - The manager had the worst attitude, clearly annoyed he had to take the order as his staff were busy - then rude when we left. It’s not cheap average £12.90 per main - I felt like I needed a shower after I left & wish I had not taken my family.

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened, about twice a month for lunch and occasional family and work celebrations. Today we got the with my two year old granddaughter ten minutes before opening time, I asked if we could sit in the bar until twelve. This was rudely refused. Surely with a two year old they would have the intellectual ability to work out we needed her to stay warm. I will never return and advice people to go to Just Italy, or sambuccas, their staff have a brain and look after customers.

My son ordered a pizza, what a joke!!! It was under cooked, 2 pieces of chicken on it and uncooked supposed to chorizo!!! I had the pasta which was passable but the garlic bread was like a piece of thin paper!!! Someone came to the table with some parmesan cheese but he just put it onto my pasta whare as I would have liked to put my own on. As soon as we had finished eating the server pounced on us to take our PLASTIC plates away!!!!

The fillet steaks are better than a well known steak house. The staff are helpful and kind. We come here every time we want a steak now. Also the special lunches are superb, you can taste every item of the dish, whatever you choose. Of particular note is the garlic bread which is as light as a feather and doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the main course.

Customer service was appalling aswell as the atmosphere. Staff were rude and very impolite not greeted with a smile once. Food was undercooked and cold. One waitress was very unprofessional and rude and I’m sure I saw her eating of a customers plate once they had finished too.

We found this restaurant by chance, we travelled up from Liverpool for The Great North Run. Food was absolutely amazing and service gutted that you’re not in Liverpool! Thanks very much! Next time we’re up here we will be back!

I visit this restaurant regularly, at least a couple of times a month mainly because we have never had a bad meal here and the kids absolutely love it. The atmosphere is casual so it’s not a stuffy restaurant where you are having to ssshh the kids constantly which for me is a big plus. The kids love the food here (an even bigger plus) and despite my youngest being a really fussy eater she loves the kids carbonara meal and a garlic bread with cheese. Whether it’s the lunch time special, which is SUPERB value for a cheap lunch out or you want to push the boat out a bit further and have a steak the quality has always been top notch. I had a fillet steak with peppercorn sauce and chunky chips on this visit and it was gorgeous. We love the Sunday lunches and the carvery, which again is superb value so like someone else has said please ignore the negative reviews on here. Given the restaurant is always busy (especially on a Sunday) these reviews don’t reflect the popularity of this restaurant and if you are shopping at the Silverlink or visiting the cinema it’s a great choice!!

Very popular location offering friendly and quick service. Only given a three star due to the lack of veggie options, particularly on Sunday almost limited to margherita pizza (which was good!)

Up in Newcastle for work and stayed down the road from here over the weekend. Came here as it was close. Omg I was so taken back it is amazing. The food is amazing. Amazing steak, full of flavour and extreamly good value for the price. One of the best steaks I have eaten. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They made me feel very welcome despite only being a table for one. I even stayed further away over the past couple of days and ended up driving all the way back here just to have the meal again. One to add to the list as a must visit. Well done guys keep up the good work.

Judging by previous reviews we seem to be lucky when we come to this restaurant. The first time was a few weeks ago when I had the best pasta I have ever tasted. I could see and taste every element of the dish. we were also given a taster of the pork meatballs and these were very good. We came back a week later with a friend and again the meals were very good. The staff were very attentive. We could see that they did steaks and so my wife and I came back yesterday for a couple of fillet steaks, which were easliy the best steaks we have had. The music is loud though, hence the 4 stars.

What a bizarre restaurant! Dance music blasting, food served on plastic plates and tasteless pasta that felt like the chicken had been microwaved. Overall very disappointing and far better options out there for very similar money. A very intimidating place to be and we couldn’t wait to leave.

1st visit ok but 2nd was awful. Staff unfriendly in fact when I asked for the bill, twice he was talking to his friend on table in front and threw our bill across the table. I won’t ever go back

Me and a friend came for food after the cinema, we sat down to look at the menu and were asked straight away if we wanted a drink which was great as we knew what we wanted. However, after not even looking at the menu for 5 mins we were asked 3 times if we knew what we wanted! After deciding we placed our orders which came out pretty quick and the food was lovely. Whilst eating our food a male waiter kept looking over and asked a few times if we had finished, my friend had and i was still eating however he still got a box for her leftovers. I purposely sat with my knife and fork on plate to see if he would ask if i was finished and you guessed it he was over asking again! I told him no although i had (just so he would leave us alone). We felt very rushed and we sadly wont be returning. The restaurant had plenty of empty tables therefore should not have felt this way, regardless of this we should not have felt rushed/pestered. I did mention this to a lady who worked there. Such a shame as our pizzas were lovely. My friend told me the male waiter had done this on a previous occasion she has visited.

Worse christmas day and rude staff member. Came to cassia for Christmas day with my family, including my two children. We paid £65 per adult and £30 per child. When originally booking christmas lunch, I asked if there was an alternative menu as my little boy is none verbal autistic and will only eat dry, beige food. I was advised there is no alternative so I asked if I pay the £30 can I still bring a packed lunch and was told yes. So I did. We arrived christmas day and waited 30 minutes before getting our drinks, I understand it was busy but most tables where finished there starters and we didn't have a drink, when paying this amount of money you don't expect to be sat for the first half an our with no drink, especially when the menu read that you receive a glass on processco on arrival. We eventually got the drinks and starters which where advertised as prawn and crab meat. I'm interested to see where the crab meat was as none of our table had any in theirs. So then to make the afternoon worse, my dad went to queue for his christmas lunch from the carvery as i was unable to leave the children unnattended and when he returned he mentioned how he seen some children sat with other food ie, hot dog and chips. I flagged over a staff member and asked again if there was any alternative meal for my child who is having a hard time eating christmas lunch due to the textures. Again I was told no, this is when I mentioned about seeing other children with different food. At this point a very unwelcoming who I assume is the manager, popped his head into the conversation and said 'how can I help' I explained the situation that I was refused any other food and I'd paid £30 for my autistic son to bring a packed lunch. His response was appalling in which he replied 'yes because we have some kids who are fussy' EXUSE ME! so if a child is 'fussy' they can have different food but if they have a disability they cant?! as I explained this he shrugged his shoulders and stormed off whilst saying 'for god sake it's christmas' never known anything like it in my life. After the incident he did apologise and refund my £30 , offered my little boy a different meal but by this point I was border line tears, my appetite had gone and our christmas lunch was ruined. Never again.

Food is great, but this is the second time I've been where I've felt they were rushing me. As soon as you put your fork down they are over asking if you've finished. Removed my drink tonight with some still in it. It's good to have attentive service but this crosses the line into pushing you out of the door. The friend I was with said she had the sane experience the last time also.

Yet again an excellent meal for all, as always very professional and friendly service. Cannot fault this establishment with a great set of attentive staff and management team

Have visited before but tonight was dreadful. Restaurant was really busy and noisy. We were asked to wait in bar for a table to become available and then were sat near there in what seemed to be the ‘overflow’. We were sat looking at sweeping brushes, dustpans and mops and a fire door which was propped open. Food was poor - Kiev pizza was a margarita with a few bits of dry chicken on top and the carbonara was pasta, sauce and a few bits of bacon. The service felt extremely pressured and rushed. The second we stopped eating our plates were taken including some garlic bread which we would have eaten given half the chance. We paid and whilst putting our jackets on the table was being laid again. So not a good experience tonight and we won’t be rushing back.

I take my mother shopping and this is the 3rd time we have came here for lunch and I felt I have to do a review, from entering the restaurant to leaving the service and the food is excellent, previous times I have not had the lunch time offer but today I did and I don’t know how they do it for £8.70, it’s amazing, my palate is not the easiest to please but Cassia has pleased it no problem - thank you and we will be back, don’t change

Popped in with my wife for the lunchtime special. Really good value for money, excellent food and excellent service. Always look forward to going back.

Nipped in last minute before the cinema with my daughter. The place was almost completely full which is a good sign. Despite being so busy we had our drinks within 2 minutes of sitting down and our food within 10 minutes. The kitchen is open and can be seen from the seating area and was very clean and well organised. Our pasta was amazing and at a great price. I had the arrabiata and it had the right amount of spice. Waitress was lovely especially with my daughter. All round a great experience and we will be back. Thanks guys.

Not a good experience eating in this restaurant. Staff not very polite, to busy talking to each other and swearing which we could hear. Standing around paying more attention to their mobile phones than customers. Which was very few for a lunch time. Got the lunch time special which was cheap but not very appetising. So you get what you pay for. Coffee came with sour milk. Would not eat here again. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to sort out their waiting staff.

Very busy this Sunday but Danny sorted a table asap. Staff very attentive and helpful always looking to see who needs assistance. Food was beautiful presented and tasty. Don’t tend to like lager type drinks but they serve a great Murano beers . What a great place to be

Visited as a couple. Great steak … even better value for money. Atmosphere is superb. Would recommend and will be back

We were staying at e Village Hotel for the International Jazz Party. We came to the Cassia for an evening meal and liked it so much we came twice more! The staff were so welcoming, the food excellent and the service first class. We wil be back next year.

Visited for the first time , received a warm welcome and great customer service Food was delicious and great value for money , will definitely be back loved the atmosphere and great service
