Caspian Kebab And Pizzas in Gateshead

Looks like ANOTHER night where Caspian has accepted my order and not delivered. It’s been nearly 2 hours at the time of writing and no answer from the shop… after a 6 month hiatus because of the last no show (that I never got refunded for), it seems nothing has changed… used to be great. What the hell has happened to this place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

burger and kebab meat was like rubber and some of the chips were raw, complete waste of money and definitely won't be eating anything from here again.

This place used to be a real treat some time ago people used to rave about the place, now its a less than mediocre Kebab shop there are a lot better place in Birtley now unfortunately. and Ive tried tried them all, please get back to your glory days

Fab kebab . Fresh ingredients. Ordered for delivery. Arrived quickly. Was well wrapped and was still hot. Delivery driver very pleasant.

Ordered pizzas for a party and they were superb. Generous toppings and delicious dough. Will definitely be returning.

Have used this establishment for over 30 yrs. Cannot fault their Kebabs and service. Delivery driver is very pleasant.

Very disappointed, my husband went to the shop to order some food, a pizza and a kebab. The kebab was ok but the pizza was over cooked but cold and I had to reheat it, we are a five minute walk away! My first slice there was something very hard in the pizza topping which put me off completely I always heard good things about the Caspian but it’s not for us.

First time we have ordered here. Ordered chicken kebab. Friendly staff. It was easy to preorder and collect at a later time. Tasty chicken and the chips even though frozen ones were tasty also. Would definitely return here again in the future.

So disappointed after hearing so many good things about this place. Placed an order and it arrived after an hour and a half. Food was cold, bits of the order was missing and different desserts were delivered as well. My partner was that angry he drove down, took it back to them and asked for his money back. The attitude from the member of staff when he said to him why doesn't he take it away and heat it up!!! Absolutely unbelievable!! We received our money back but I will never be going to this place ever again.

We hadn’t had a takeaway pizza for ages So we thought we would go here We have always had good food from here But it was terrible There is new ownership now I would never go back the staff are horrible and have a terrible attitude I’ve been going here for 20 years but never again

My favourite takeaway has been. For years Had house special kebab ***** Would definitely recommend and they now deliver.

Terrible service and staff could seriously do with smiling and being polite to customers. Waited near on 40 minutes for a pitta bread, garlic sauce and chips (I’m vegetarian) to be told that I couldn’t order it again. Chips were uncooked in middle when I eventually got them. Definitely won’t be taking my custom back as I felt really uncomfortable how the staff spoke to me.

I’ve used Caspian for many years but since it has moved location and changed the front desk service, I won’t be going back.

So after seeing all over social media that Caspian now do delivery service. We ordered tonight. We were told on the phone it would be an hour, after waiting 1 hour n half the shop did phone me to say he was sorry the driver had forgot my order! He did asure me on the phone that because of this we would get something free. Another 40 mins and it arrives! Nothing fee and only just say warm. Rang up n basically he wasn’t even bothered. Delivery service isn’t ran like this Caspian..... disappointing service tonight

I have been coming to this shop for over twenty years,my favourite place,never disappointed, but tonight the chips were pale greasy and tasted vile the pitta bread tasted like fish,i put them all in the bin,i was more upset because i had not eaten for a couple of days and was so looking forward to it

I used to visit the Caspian years ago but stopped going as much when we moved. However after a few disastrous kebabs from other establishments I decided to go back to the Caspian, where I'd never had a bad meal. The food was as good as ever. You gets LOADS and it is delicious. They have just moved premises into a bigger establishment. I'm so glad that they're thriving that they need a bigger store. I can't wait for the delivery opti6tp become available!

I was in the area for the cricket world cup and popped in here after reading some favourable reviews. They don't accept card payment, so I had to run across the road to Morrisons to the cash machine. I ordered the diner and it was very nice - and was a huge serving. Highly recommended.

Caspian have been going in Birtley for many years and are always busy. Their product is of the highest standard. Pizza or kabab you can’t go wrong.

Just been to the Caspian, still the best pizza/kebab shop in birtley. Been going there for 20 plus years, friendly service and good value. Pizza’s a bit stodgy but nice and tasty!

You are always guaranteed an amazing takeaway from Caspian! I know people who come as far away as Cramlington to get the donner kebab from here. The best cheesy garlic bread EVER!

Cant find anywhere in chester le street which can make a mean pizza fab kebab and garic sauce to die for but found it here. This is now my place to go wish they delivered though. If you want great food and banter while you wait look no futhet

Simply the best. Travel from Washington Because they don’t deliver but never been an issue. First visited here with friends at the age of 17 and 30 years later still going. My son and his friends now go. And my friends still go. Best pizza and kebab I’ve ever tasted. And the chilli is to die for. Salad always fresh and food is always fresh. Staff very friendly. Prices in line with all other places. Best to ring and order in advance as always busy. Love love love it. Keep going guys xx ❤️

Came highly recommended and it certainly delivered! Delivery took over an hour but that's purely down to the distance between my house and the shop. The food arrived hot and fresh. Well worth waiting 2 hours for!

Ordered here for years, always happy good food, friendly staff, lots of choice of pizzaz and kebabs, open 7 days a week and great after a night out to call on way home .

ordered chicken kebab expected a short wait whilst cooking but no chicken came from a tub pre cooked along with kebab meat threw salad on and a little tasteless garlic sauce. no taste whatsoever, and threw majority in bin. it was recommended to me but absolutely disgusting. no presentation all wrapped together. DO NOT USE

Decent take away Pizzas and kebab are always good Garlic sauce is poor Staff often miserable Good value for money as large portions

Go here often best place in the area for a kebab ,really big portion salad lovely and fresh , best garlic sauce I have tasted

Still going strong. Best kebabs in Birtley always satisfied by their popularity. Been in Birtley many moons now. Would only go elsewhere if there very busy.

We got a house special kebab we were not disappointed. The first time we ate from caspian was a disappointment we were not impressed at all but we decided to give it another go as all our friends kept telling us how nice it was. And it was. Everything was nice especially the steak, it was tender and very tasty. We will definitely be going back

I have been a patron and champion of the Caspian for many years, I even remember the staff being in Chester le street before they opened the Caspian.Sadly though the place is looking as tired as the food tastes, including this visit my last 4 kebabs have been average affairs, dry meat, dry pitta bread and on this occasion the donner meat was barely warm, previous visits for pizza left me disappointed too they were overcooked and dry.So sad for a place I would have recommended to anyone, in times past it didn't matter what day or time you went in there would be customers galore, unfortunately in my experience now this is simply no longer the case.Im even considering using different kebab shops and I really didn't think I would ever being saying that! Come on Caspian have a rethink and a revamp I know you can do whole lot better than you are right now.

Everything from here has that extra bit taste, little bit pricier but you get quality and quantity would recommend to anyone!

Been coming here for years and each time I order the same, Chicken Kabab with salad and chilli sauce. Large chunks of chicken breast grilled on skewers. Large selection of pizza available but I have yet to try any. Staff friendly and attentive.

Been going here for years and always excellent however last few times we have been order is always wrong when collecting food and the chilli sauce just isn't the same and this was the shops best product

best kebab shop in birtley we have used this 30 yrs the staff are friendly even mohammed .we love ali he is so friendly and the food its lovely the best ever !well worth a visit its very popular

Was ok but found the chicken kebab very dry and quite hard to eat . We have previously had food futon caspian before and it's always been good but on this occasion it was a big let down.

As above , never had a complaint. I know kebab isn't to everyones liking but Caspian do it well and the pizzas I recommend the thin based meaty feast or hot and spicy....give it a go.

Anyone who hasn't had a kebab from here I simply missing the very best money can buyI met Mr Ali in a takeaway in Jarrow over 30 years ago and he was just about to start Caspian30 years on and it's still goingWhether it's a large donner or a house special ...... You will be back Enjoy
