Really friendly service, whilst we were there another table was giving the staff abuse over the food and being extremely rude but all the staff dealt really well and did not deserve to be spoken to like that! thank you for amazing food:))

Had a really brilliant meal tonight! Mum had mentioned it was my birthday during booking and the servers remembered that! Which was very nice of them. The food was exceptional, we had a shared mixed grill between 3 of us and everything was cooked perfectly! Thank you 🙂

A mother's day visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Very attentive staff, very polite and the food was excellent. We shall be visiting again to sample the other delights that they offer !

I had an incredible experience at Cascara restaurant! The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. The only aspect I would suggest improving is the lighting. The ambiance inside is quite dark, and the cold lighting makes it a bit challenging to read the menu comfortably. Nevertheless, the overall dining experience was fantastic, and I look forward to returning to enjoy the delicious cuisine and welcoming service.

Went to cascara last night and had a lovely evening there. The staff were friendly and prompt. The food was delicious. We had the original sharing platter and wow the meat did not disappoint, everything was so tasty and cooked to perfection, and that chimicurri sauce 😋 I also had a tasty long island iced tea, excellent cocktail making skills!

Can honestly say that is the best fillet steak i have had in such a long time. So great that someone gets the concept of seasoning. Cooked to absolute perfection (rare, as a good steak should be). Thank you. We will definitely come back.

Saw this from the Yorkshireman food blogger, it didn't disappoint. Had the chateaubriand sharing platter, which was stunning! Empanadas and squid starters were delicious. Staff were friendly. Planning to come back later in the year with friends

Been my go to for over a year! Steaks in the week, Sunday roast on the weekend. Absolutely unreal, service and food is always spot on.

Wow where do I start, from the 5 star service to the outstanding food. This is the place to be in Hessle for 10/10 food. From someone who’s never eaten a steak before I now visit this fine establishment frequently. Cant recommend this place highly enough. Lewis and Jenson served me on my last visit and are class lads.

Visited cascara on 3.2.24 at 7pm. It was fully booked, we had a party of 8, with 2 people with food allergies, and a baby. And boy o boy, they couldn't do enough to help and assist. The service was 10/10 explaining in detail what was in each dish to make sure everyone had a good meal. The food was exceptional. All freshly cooked, and we could not fault a thing. The menu wasn't the largest, but this meant that they could concentrate on what they do, well.

Food & service very poor. We were waiting around 20 minutes for drinks, then at least another 35-40 to be served our food. It was a family meal with 6 of us, we all ordered the sharing platters. 2 were ordered rare, and the 3rd medium rare. When the food finally arrived, the rare sharing platters, weren't exactly rare, but we kept them, as couldn't wait any longer to eat. The 3rd sharing platter (medium rare) was very overcooked too. The meat was all very tasteless, and very tough, not once did any member of staff come back to our table & ask how our meal was. Very very disappointed, to be honest the meat, was like chewing an old boot. Atmosphere was poor, won't be returning.

Great quality of food, nice surroundings and friendly staff, I have been before for a Sunday lunch and it was really good. Took friends last night to celebrate my 60th, slightly apprehensive as one of our party is very particular about his steak (I have seen it returned at plenty of restaurants) however he couldn't fault it and not only did he not return it, he didn't leave any either. Would highly recommend

Update: Had a dip on the last visit in quality. Hopefully it was a one off. Still excellent food. They've recently revamped the space and menu. Will keep coming back

Went as a last minute booking on new year's eve afternoon. Our 7 year old had only just been diagnosed with celiac disease and we was struggling to find somewhere to go out and have a family meal . Waited over an hour for the food. Steak was tougher than old boots. Too many people rammed in upstairs. Had to repeatedly flag down wait-staff to ask for drinks etc. Real let down and won't be returning

Went on Saturday tea time with the Mrs and 2 young kids. Kids eat for £1 which is amazing given the quality of the food! We opted for small plates and home made chips which were all fantastic, washed down with their new gingerbread martinis. First time trying this place and highly recommend.

5 years ago: "Best food in hull" Today: It's even bloody better! The staff are great and friendly, couldn't do enough for you. They once specially ordered some mussels to create a dish from their old menu for a special anniversary surprise for my partner. The food is just ridiculous, the Sunday roast will blow your socks off. Easily a contender for best food in East Riding.

Group of 7 of us went with 2 children both under 7, the staff couldn’t do enough and were more than happy to cater to the children’s needs. Food was amazing and really reasonably priced.

We went for a couple of drinks and an evening meal and can’t recommend a better place in the area for some top notch food and a glass of wine. Ordered the mixed grill original steak and the plate was loaded with steak, chicken and pork belly along with potatoes and padron peppers, great value for money👌 and the chimmichuri tastes exactly like I had in Argentina last year The service was also amazing - attentive but didn’t interrupt us! there was a nice level of background music that wasn’t too loud as well

So on visiting Cascara for dinner we found the food to be absolutely gorgeous. I had the squid and my partner had the carrot Bhajis. We then shared a platter of three different steaks, sausage, belly pork and chicken wings with fondant potatoes. This was more than enough and very reasonable priced. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. The service was also spot on, there was always someone there. But I do feel the actual restaurant was lacking in something. The bar area is stunning but then from there the room is very bland and the lighting to bright. Could do with warm yellow bulbs rather than white. Also maybe some pictures on the wall or greenery ie trailing plants. All in all it would not stop us eating there again because of this.

Great family night out. At 5 hours notice the team catered superbly for 16 customers. Age range 3-70. Delightful grub and wine. Friendly attentive staff. A strong recommendation from very happy Weegies.

Disappointing! We had high expectations from previous friends going, however it didn’t meet these expectations at all. The service was ok. It took ages for our drinks to arrive. The steak was lovely, I must admit it was a very good piece of steak cooked to my liking. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, the decor felt like they hadn’t made an effort. No clear signs about the toilet or slippery stairs (due to the weather). The restaurant was also cold. Overall I won’t be rushing back.

17 of us visited for dinner 11 adults 6 children. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was incredible! Staff were attentive and the pricing was very reasonable. Steak Frites, pork belly to die for as were some of the smaller plates. Lovely visit, would definitely recommend.

After hearing about Cascara changing up their Sunday lunch menu and hearing the rave from a few of my friends I very last minute booked in to treat my family but was worried about disabled access after recently breaking my leg and being in a wheelchair/crutches. I spoke to the manager who was completely accommodating and made sure that I was seated comfortably and had access or aid to whatever means necessary (ie toilets). My family and I were made aware at the very beginning and before I even made the call to book that the Sunday menu was a set menu and although there were some items on the Sunday roast lunch that we wouldn’t particularly eat, we all absolutely loved it. We were constantly complimenting the food as we were eating it and my mother even pretty much finished her plate which is a rare occurrence!🤣 The staff were patient when we couldn’t decide on the drinks, they were all really lovely and we even stayed for dessert and coffee because we enjoyed our time there so much. 10/10 for me and my family and we’ll be back to try the menu throughout the week!!

This restaurant sells the best steak in Hull & surrounding areas. Food quality is 10/10. Big shout out to Matt, for going the extra mile. All staff well presented. Would visit again

I don't even know where to begin with this but I can strongly say this restaurant needs shutting down... My husband booked Sunday lunch as a treat for us yesterday at 4:15. We arrived on time, however the staff couldn't find our booking and then kept asking us what time , how many people and told us the table isn't ready.. We finally sat down upstairs and was handed a menu for the Sunday lunch. 3 courses for £80. We then tried to order and they didn't have the starter we wanted, they didn't have the dessert we wanted, they also didn't have the beer my husband wanted, nor did they have any of the 5 bottles of wine showing on the menu, they only had the house wine... My husband ordered a cocktail called Escobar (which had 2 rums in and 2 vodkas each spirit 25ml so 100ml of alcohol in total) however it arrived with only mango juice in and even that was heavily watery. You could drink and drive on this drink... So he then sent it back, and asked for a Budweiser. Another table near us sent back their cocktail also due to it having no alcohol in... they are obviously 'missing the alcohol' in these and yet charging £10 a cocktail! We had to choose other starters which we didn't necessarily want and wasn't our first choice however they was within the Sunday lunch 3 course price. 1 hour and half until the starters arrived. Food was nice and very hot. However then the Sunday roast arrived, beautifully cooked up until my husband found a hair embedded into his Yorkshire pudding... Safe to say this definitely turned our stomach and we didn't want the remaining of the Sunday lunch. Then all of a sudden there was a physical fight amongst 2 women downstairs , screaming swearing shouting , slapping each other. The whole restaurant heard and witnessed everything and seemed the staff just watched and didn't intervene. Someone fell down the stairs due to stairs being slippy, however no warning or sign stating this. One of the waitresses had a mop and bucket, so unsure whether she had already mopped and left the stairs wet. Or if the person who fell, had hurt herself and bleeding... I asked for a waitress to come over and explained the situation with the hair, and also explained our experience has been poor since the start, we understand mistakes happen but come on, this is the 6th thing that went wrong.. She went to get the manager to come over, however the manager sent out the assistant manager who looked no older than 18.. who wasn't very professional and barely said anything. I stated we would not be paying for any part of this meal nor drinks, the assistant manager said that was ok fine. We asked for 2 tap waters when the Sunday roast arrived, these didn't arrive until we was leaving and only 1 arrived. We then grabbed our coats and walked out. The waiter told me to hold onto the railing on the stairs as stairs is slippy. Never will we return here again. We saw numerous tables complaining and pulling staff up on things during our visit, A very poorly organised restaurant with no front of house, direction or routine. Majority of staff 18-20 years old, no customer service skills. Why accept our booking onto your system if you don't have majority of things listed on the menu... Why have a booking system if we arrive and you cannot find our booking? Our bill would have been £140 had we paid for this. For you to charge these prices but show a lack of customer service is outrageous. It really isn't difficult to run a restaurant properly and train each one of your staff thoroughly. Not everyone is able to afford to eat our regularly therefore some couples may only be able to go out once a month for a treat. For this to happen and you to ruin their experience is not acceptable in any form. And they say that restaurant industry is dying and nobody is spending money anymore.. yet we are trying to but refuse to treat poorly. We had been to Cascara before a few months ago before the refurb and change of staff, and couldn't fault it. Safe to say it has gone severely down hill. Urgent attention is needed to sort this place out ASAP.

Had many lovely Sunday lunches here! The only problem is they don’t do a vegetarian Sunday lunch (or proper mash) only a mushroom ‘pie’ with fries i prefer as close to a roast dinner as a vegetarian can get. My family who all eat meat love this restaurant! The steak platters are massive and beautifully presented. Staff and service cannot be faulted.

Group booking (for 12) for special birthday. Chaotic to say the least. Only red wine available was house red - which tasted like cheap supermarket wine. Sat down for 8pm and the food (which all had to be pre-ordered) did not start to come out until 9.30pm. Shocking service. Food all coming out different times, waiting ages on side dishes. Many of our group had ordered flat irons - they all seemed to vary in size & quality. We ordered the original grill platter, which toppled off the platter & landed on the table - leaving us to pick it up. Amateur - this needs addressing. Do not waste your money, I will not return and would not recommend.

Visited yesterday with friends for Sunday lunch. 2 of us had belly pork another roast beef. Was one of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had . Will defiantly return, good value too.

All the family (5 adults and 1 child)had the steak frites. The meat waste cooked to perfection, everyone eat the first plate full. But all opted to have the second on boxed and taken home. £20 for 3 courses unbelievable value, definitely will be returning. Can not recommend this place highly enough.

THE best Sunday roast in and around Hull!

Easily the best restaurant in Hessle. If you're visiting then this is definitely the place to dine.

We have been here often and food is always excellent. However service very slow took 2 hours to recieve our mains, slow to realise more drinks were needed and stuffing missing from roast dinners, not checked on or asked if further Gravy etc required and also we were ignored when we asked someone for the bill. Overall dissapointing.

Very disappointed ! Went for Sunday Lunch and was expecting something fantastic. Instead we arrived at a run down uncomfortable booth, with no air conditioning. Because there were 5 of us it was a bit of a squeeze, but the waitress offered us a chair ( at the end of the table ) which we accepted. Then 1/2 hour later another waitress said she needed it and took it away. So we ate our meal all squashed in together. We waited over 1 hour before our food arrived and when it came it was lukewarm. We weren’t asked how we wanted our meat cooked, so for some of us the meat was far too rare. We sent it back but wasn’t much better when it came back. For the prices they charge I would expect the place to be like a palace, but sadly it was far from. The toilet situation isn’t great either. Wouldn’t return, unfortunately.

I had a GF Sunday roast and a GF lemon posset. They had a special GF stuffing and a lovely gravy. What was different between GF and a normal roast was there was no Yorkshire pudding or pigs in blankets. One of the best roasts...

The meals were very delicious! The meats were well seasoned through and through. The ambience is decent and relaxing. Pricing is a tiny bit on the high side but the taste of the food wouldn’t make you mind.

We went to Cascara for the sharing steak grill.Absolutely gorgeous.Beautiful steak,scrumptious belly pork,sausages,chips,coleslaw and salad( bought as sides ).We would highly recommend everyone tries it.

First visit and hopefully it won't be the last. My husband and I went with my parents, my dad wasn't sure what he was going to have, he opted for the wagyu burger and he wasn't disappointed -none of us were with any of our choices. We had to ask for the bill a couple of times but we weren't in a rush to go anywhere. Suberb night!

Lovely little place, good service and excellent food, the mixed grill was fantastic. I first tried Cascara at the farm yard party and drove 100 miles to experience the restaurant and the full grill Im glad I did. Looking forward to enjoying it again.

This trendy eatery is situated on the pedestrian street off Hessle Square. Seating is divided into booths upstairs with wooden benches and tables. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and well presented though we failed to realise that we should have added sides to our main course and whilst the olives and bread appetizer was ok it was just basic. Desserts are limited but good, and only evident on request after you finish your main. Worth a visit now you know what to expect.

I have waited a couple of days to process having a meal at the Cascara in order to write a comprehensive statement of our family experience at this restaurant. We attended the restaurant on 3/9/22 at 7pm. We placed our meal order from the very small selection of food on the menu. My dad and I had lamb which comprised of a lamb chop, lamb neck and a dollop of sweet potato with gravy. Which we received later that evening My Dad and I reluctantly eat it but both felt the same, that we were eating scrag ends of a lamb. My sister had steak which was cold and my husband and brother in law had the burger which to be fair they enjoyed. But it must be pointed out we would have chosen something totally different if it had been on offer. The services was poor to say the least and one staff in particular was wearing a pair of black soccer shorts! Enough said! Our meal starter was bread and olives and took over an hour to prepare, we originally ordered onion Bhaji but discovered there was only one portion left at 7.30 (the beginning of the evening)! That meant only one out of the five couldn’t have our originally selected. We eventually left the restaurant but before leaving I asked if my sister’s birthday cake could be served and served it was on the card from the box with no plate on a dirty sticky table. There were no candles (which I didn’t expect). However, what would have been nice would have been five plates to eat the cake from and a knife to cut the cake with! We did eventually get plates and a knife but by then the surprise was totally dampened. Although I understand not to expect these types of niceties but it would have been good customer experience to provide them (in my opinion of course). After spending £176 for five meals with two drinks each it was expensive for what we received. In a word NO! Poor food choice and quality and lack of attention to detail with customer service!

Without doubt the food was excellent . Even allowing for the fact that the restaurant was busy the service left something to be desired - it took 45 minutes for the first course to be served Unfortunately there was a particularly raucous group close by...

What an absolutely top quality 3 course meal not overly filling but just nice every bit of it tasted delicious would recommend to all the beef is good, staff very friendly so worth a visit with family or friends can't wait to go again thankyou 😊🍴🍹

From the moment my wife, son and I walked through the door we were made to feel so very welcome. The service continued to be outstanding, staff even came to check on my boy when he bumped his head. The food was amazing, we shared the Chateau Briand Sunday lunch. Every single item was flavoured and cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed our visit and cannot wait to go back
