This Italian is by far the best Italian food you will ever eat. We recently visited Sorrento expecting great Italian cuisine but, on the whole, were left very disappointed. The restaurants were more interested in a quick turnover than quality of food and good customer service. This is something that Casa Aroma has in spades - the food is delicious, the staff are always very friendly and can't do enough for you. I only wish there was a Casa Aromoa wherever we go in the world and it is the first place we go to when we get home for some delicious food.

Always love Casa, authentic reasonably priced tasty food, wonderful staff and generally a great night out. Can't fault it. It was busy on Friday night though so would recommend booking.

This conveniently placed restaurant was a real find. Nice surroundings, not over busy and room to be comfortable. Also easy access if you have some mobility issues. The staff were lovely and attentive without being too overbearing. Great choice of dishes. We both enjoyed our starters and mains. So fresh and tasty, it felt like someone had pride in their dishes, did not feel like bulk cooked. We were both too full for desert. There was a good range of reasonably priced wine and the bill seemed really good for the standard of food that we had eaten. We left feeling very happy. It would be a definite booking on our next visit.

Honestly, it was okay. I was expecting it to be better, I was expecting to be home made, or at least fresh brought pasta for the price. It was dried pasta. I make my own and it is inexpensive and relatively simple and something an Italian restaurante that charges £16.95 for a bowl of powdery mince and pasta, ought to really provide. The serving staff were lovely. I was disappointed with the food.

We ad a nice meal in pleasant surroundings . Service took a while due to a large party before us. We were hungry so frustrating, but staff were apologetic and friendly. The food was nice and tasty once it arrived.

Ordered a takeaway at bang on 5.30, opening time, z just had the basic chips, pizza and garlic pizza. Waited and hour and 20 minutes for delivery and when it came the chips were limp and not great. Kids enjoyed the pizza, but it was cold, the chips were actually hot though. Not the best food I’ve ever eaten and probably won’t order again. I appreciate it’s a busy Saturday night but jeez. My daughter loves the place and she’s a takeaway addict but wasn’t the best for me. The staff were polite when I rang and enquired where it was so not hate on them. Just wasn’t great food.

Restaurant had been recommended so we'd booked and glad we did as it was very busy even early evening on a Wednesday. The caponata was delicious - no idea how they get the deep brown colour and depth of taste when it's not made using browned meat but really enjoyed it.

Excellent Italian food with really good gluten-free options. The staff were very attentive, friendly and very knowledgable about the gluten-free requirements. The atmosphere was great and we would definitely visit again when next in Whitehaven.

We came for dinner on Friday night. We didn’t have a booking and the restaurant was fully booked, however, the lovely waiter managed to kindly squeeze us in. The service was excellent, all servers were so polite and friendly. The food was exceptional! The meatballs and calzone were 10/10 and the cheesecake desert was amazing. Meal for 6 aged 2-70 years. Every one of us loved our meal. As a vegetarian I have arrabbiata pasta everywhere I go, but this was the nicest I’ve had! Food was delicious and staff were very friendly. If near Whitehaven I definitely recommend dining here.

I visited here recently with my partner after being gifted a voucher for Christmas. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread as a starter to share and then I got the Polpette Alla Romana (rigatoni and meatballs in a tomato based sauce and cheese) and my partner got the calzone kiev. The sauce on my pasta dish I found to be really overpoweringly onion-y, but nice all the same. The meatballs are advertised as homemade but I’m not certain that they haven’t been frozen beforehand. My partner however really enjoyed his calzone. The food was nice but I felt a little average. I have been to this restaurant a number of times over the years and have certainly had nicer dishes in the past (the penne arrabbiata and the spaghetti & meatballs used to be delicious) but nowhere near as good on this occasion (the pasta, anyway). I would come back though and just try something different as the calzone went down really well - maybe a case of ordering the right thing?

We called in here after it was recommended by Moresby Hall, where we were staying. The service was very efficient and a great atmosphere. We ordered a sharing platter for starters and a seafood risotto and tagliatelle. The portions are huge and finished us off. No room for dessert even though they looked delicious. One of the best Italian meals we have ever had.You won’t be disappointed.

We visited on a Monday with no booking and were very obligingly found a table. Just over a week later on a Thursday we arrived again with no booking and again they fitted us in. All the usual Italian dishes but a few more unusual ones. Penne position, fusiliers salumieri salmon fillet all very good. Great service, very friendly staff.

My husband & I visited Casa a Roma on our 1st night here in Whitehaven. It was excellent. The food was most enjoyably so much so that we have since been back again in our week stay here. Staff are friendly & the COVID measures are all set up leaving you feeling very safe.

For such a small venue it seemed so loud and yet not many people in.We were greeted and shown to a table and ordered drinks, lovely all settled, ohh no the mangers told me I've put you on the wrong table we need to move you.Off we popOnce ordered the food arrived we were not disappointed.Both great portions and so tasty. The Spagnola was one of the best dishes I've tasted and was packed with meat and a little kick of chilli.Great price, great food, good service just a shame about the noise.

My partner is a vegan and in most places she can typically only choose form a few converted dishes. In Casa A Roma they have a whole separate vegan menu! Thomas recommended fusilli al funghi and roast pepper risotto - both very delicious! We went there yesterday and coming back tonight for more.Place was packed so make sure you book in advance. Regarding covid, the place was spotless and I've seen the staff sanitising each table after the guests.

Very friendly welcome and extremely helpful staff. The food arrived quickly and was hot and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble . Plenty of selection for Vegans too. There were three of us and we had starters mains and coffee. Will definitely return when in the area again. TIP Add tye spinach side to the mushroom pasta it really works well together.

So this time last year we were in Rome. For various reasons this year's holiday was in Whitehaven. This was our meal out on our last night and I have to say the Italian food was better than any of the meals I ate in Rome! Really one of the best Italian meals I've had. Would definitely recommend and if we are back in the area we will be back again.

Casa a Roma is a little gem in our home town. This is our only Italian restaurant for miles & we love it. ❤️From the minute you walk through the door. Just eaten here this evening. Excellent food that won’t disappoint. Coupled with superb service from the staff, made for a very very enjoyable evening. You really can’t go wrong here, we’re not local, just in the Lakes on holiday, so an excellent find if your up this way.

We visited this restaurant twice whilst we visited Cumbria. We was due to go to Ibiza but due to COVID we had to make a last minute trip and Casa aroma made us feel like we could’ve been abroad! They made both visits so welcoming, amazing food and drinks. Could not be happier with our visits. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely be visiting again! Highly recommended 10/10

We came to Casa a Roma on our first night of our trip up to Cumbria and the food and staff was just amazing, so amazing we just had to come back a second time!! We have two people in our party who are gluten free and there were so much option they were able to adapt almost every dish! Our party of five were meant to be going to Ibiza but due to COVID we were unable to go, we made the staff aware and they allowed us to use their function room on the second visit. If we are ever in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate to go back! Could not recommend enough!!! Thank you so much.

We visited Whitehaven on a girls trip and visited Casa a Roma after finding it online as on of the places to visit. We were impressed with the Menu including the gluten free options (two of us with severe Gluten allergies) including Pizza, Pasta and Garlic Bread.We ordered cocktails (lots of them) and the service was fantastic. So quick and they made sure we were all happy.Lovely function room downstairs with Music!We enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere so much the first night, we went back again on our last night! We went to Casa a Roma on our first night of a cottage ‘hen do’ to Cumbria, the food was so good and the staff were so welcoming we had to come again last night, we told the staff that we were originally going to Ibiza but the trip had been cancelled due to covid. They let us use their function room and I can honestly say the hospitality of this restaurant made our holiday. If I’m ever in the area again I will 100% be returning. Fantastic.

Were looking for a meal out in the Whitehaven area that would offer good quality food at a reasonable price and the Casa A Roma delivered. Our two small children were treated with courtesy and humour and the service on a busy Friday evening was spot on. The food was generously proportioned and absolutely delicious with my eldest son raving about the Calzone Kiev.If you are in the Whitehaven area then this is definitely a restaurant to consider.

We love this little Italian in Whitehaven, the food is always hot and delicious, staff are so friendly and attentive and it has a lovely authentic Italian feel. 100% recommend this place, plus with coronavirus restrictions they were taking many actions to prevent where they could which is a lot better than other restaurants! Second week running we have had dinner delivered. Absolutely lovely both weeks. The meat is do tender and tasty. Beef and lamb. £3 delivery to Egremont is good value.This week exceeded expectations as delivery was 30 minutes early too. Not s problem to us at all.

Food was lovely as always but we're were disappointed with the service, although those around us were well attended too. Unfortunately we won't be rushing back.

Visited with 4 others, hadn't been featured a few months. We had the Xmas menu and 2 courses for £19.95. Two of us had the cannelloni, which is one of my Casa favourites, other other mains chosen were spaghetti, pasta arrabbiata, and chicken risotto. We all liked the mains. I had Tiramisu and my friends had Apple crumble that they didn't like and were offered Tiramisu which one took. The house Merlot was as good as usual and the coffee excellent.

I ordered takeaway with a friend. I got cannelloni and carbonara and my friend ordered calzone. My cannelloni was basic, however quite nice despite the meat being dry. Friends calzone was bland and my carbonara was THE worst carbonara I’ve ever had. I would say I’m a carbonara fanatic and it should be made with egg and Parmesan.... NOT CREAM. The dish was made from a cream based sauce, however tasted of nothing, not even cream, basically tasted like water, but not wet. The only thing I could really taste was a faint whisper of pepper. There was no Parmesan in it whatsoever. I was really looking forward to it, but in all honesty it puts Italian cuisine to shame and someone needs to hurry up and open a new Italian restaurant.

Just been Casa for tea tonight, place was chock a bloc, but still found us a table. Staff were brilliant from start to finish, we all tried a different choice from the menu, all had 3 courses, everyone was delighted with everything. Great experience again. 5**

This week it was my birthday and my better half treated us to a night out in the town. From the moment we stepped inside the restaurant until the time (2-1/2 hours later) we left, the staff and the service were superb. A bottle of chilled Italian Chardonnay accompanied our forage through the menu and our eventual selection of a plate of olives, with an olive oil and balsamic dip and chunks of bread, together with deep fried whitebait as our shared starter.Initially, the restaurant echoed to the noisy cackle of young children – well, it’s was ‘happy-hour’ – but as the evening wore on and those families were replaced by more mature diners, the acoustics became more harmonious as we settled into our main courses:Skipping through the pages of pasta and pizza selections, sea bass in a creamy prawn sauce with spinach and Italian roast potatoes was my choice and sautéed salmon (minus the original Palma ham wrapping) in a Chardonnay and pesto sauce, also with spinach and Italian roast potatoes was my partner’s preference; both dishes were very good.As a solid, down-to-earth family orientated restaurant with neutral decor, it meets all the pre-requisites, but that puts it between a rock-and-a-hard place when it comes to a romantic venue for couples – dimmed lighting and some light Italian classical music in the background might engender ‘lady-and-the-tramp’ spaghetti entanglements.

We were having a long weekend away in Workington but unfortunately could not find a nice restaurant open on Sunday evening but found Casa A Roma on the internet and it was worth making the round trip of 18 miles.The staff were very pleasant and our meals tasty and plentiful !Although the restaurant is in an attractive period property and is quite nicely decorated it is somewhat let down by the rather utilitarian furniture & bright lighting which do not make for a cosy ambience so typical of Italian restaurants.

We dropped in on a Tuesday evening and were rewarded with a great menu and delicious food. Staff were attentive and knowledge about the menu. We had a lovely meal and the final bill was extremely reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Ducked in here with the other half. A nicely presented and cozy Italian restaurant. We grabbed a focaccia starter and a penne positano main each. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality. My other half enjoyed the Italian wine, they also had draught beer available. Two very pleasant waitresses greeted/served us. We were given a warm and friendly welcome. There were several couples in the restaurant just after 6p.m. We shared the seafood antipasti which was good. The wine choices were good and my wife had a pinot grigio and I had a blonde beer. My sea bass was the best that I've ever had in an Italian. Great food, great service. Although the web app said they may be closed (8.30pm), they were open and the kitchen was open (and willing to cook!!!) until 11pm which is practically unbelievable in England.

When in Whitehaven I like to support this business which has a nice atmosphere. However, when I visited recently and the following day reviewed my £125 bill I was disappointed to find I'd been charged £5.95 gor a bowl of plain pasta for an 11 month old baby.

Sunday night in Whitehaven, monsoon weather outside, this place was like a beacon for us wanting an evening meal. Food ok, although one meal was said to have been a bit bland with tasteless sauce, but apart from that, nothing to complain about. Staff fine.
