Deliciosas salsas caseras aunque .

They cook food the way it's cooked at home. This is the good news. The bad news is that while their pasta dishes are great, starters and second courses are very poor. Prices are too high for what they have on offer and the service, to be honest is worth some serious thoughts on how to improve it.

Having driven past this restaurant, we decided to try it out. We sat outside in the sun but unfortunately the "garden" is in the front, a little too close to the passing traffic. The welcome was genuine and the service prompt and friendly. My wife is half Italian and was suitably impressed with the cooking (nearly as good as her mama's). We will return.

A particularly good Prosecco with my meal. I started with the tomato topped bruschetta whilst my husband enjoyed the aubergine/ vegetable dish. Both very nice. After tasting some of Casa Roberta's amazing food at Ealing Hour, my friend and I quickly made our way down to the restaurant on St. Marys Road. We really weren't disappointed! We started with a selection of the bruschetta (traditional tomato, cream cheese & strawberries and grilled vegetables & cheese) and the cheese and anchovy crostini - all were absolutely delicious and we could have eaten these all night were it not for the pasta dishes on offer. We tried both the cannelloni with pumpkin and ricotta and the four cheese ravioli although it was a tough choice from all the delicious sounding dishes on the menu. I finished with the excellent tiramisu (very kindly given on the house) with our bill coming to £52 for two including wine and limoncello. The flavours were rich without being overpowering and the food took me right back to Italy where I lived for a year. You can really tell the difference between this restaurant and the chains - everything is made fresh and you can taste it in every dish. It's a real shame I don't live in London as I would return to Casa Roberta regularly to travel back to Italy through their food. Go now!!

This place looks nice-small and dainty and intimate. I went on 05/08/14-will NEVER go back and recommend you don't go! I had a voucher from Living Social for a 3 course meal for two, which cost £22 I believe. At the time of purchase, the T&C's did not mention that the menu was limited, or it would be a different menu we would choose from. When we sat down, we were given a different menu to the al a carte. It was a menu that cost £28pp, as it had prosecco, but of course we weren't having the prosecco-I'm just pointing out the menu we were told we could chose from. We had the brushetta for starters-horrible! The strawberry and cream one was nice, but the tomato and the vegetable ones were gross and bland. My mother had the Grilled smoked cheese served with grilled vegetables and mix salad-was ok but nothing great. For mains, I had the beef stew-this was horrendous and tasted like a horrible supermarket takeaway. The meat had a weird taste to it, and the mash was gloopy and oily-rather bizarre main. My mother had the lasagne-again, tasted worse than a supermarket takeaway. We had about 3 bites of our main, and had to leave it, because it was THAT disgusting. Doubt that the meat was even meat. Not once were we asked how the food was or if everything was ok-that's probably because the waitress knew that they were literally serving us rubbish. When a waitress comes to collect your plates, more often than not, they'll ask how the food was, ESPECIALLY if they see that most of it was left on the plate-not once did the waitress say anything. Tiramisu for dessert was nothing great either-cheap whipped cream used. The Pastiera Napoletana was great-the only good thing about the place. They didn't have any liqueurs or spirits. We ended up leaving, looking for food elsewhere. NEVER again coming.

We popped in last week very last minute and the restaurant was buzzing. .There were lots of new dishes to try and the shared Fritto Misto Mixed Fried Vegetables as well as the Panzanella - Italian Salad did not disappoint. The service was super and as Roberta was on holiday , her brother Mauro chatted to us all at the tables. He recommended the new mains of Pasta Parcels filled with Pears & Cheese which was superb and for my daughter Squid with King Prawns served on a Bed of Asparagus Cream. My husband stayed with the lasagna as it is a firm favourite . We were stuffed but still shared two Tiramisu- home made and delicious . As a local restaurant casa Roberta really does not come much better!

Having walked by Casa Roberta many times I was curious to see what the place was like - and I'm really pleased to say it did not disappoint! We visited for dinner on a Saturday night, there were only a few other couples in the restaurant but it was nearing 9pm. The place is nicely lit with quiet, atmospheric music. There was just one waitress serving the restaurant and she was very friendly and helpful, not once did we actually need to ask for anything as she noticed when we'd finished a round of drinks or were waiting for the bill. We had starters, mains and a dessert and it all tasted home made and fresh - the wine we had was also one of the nicest I've ever tasted! The tomatoes in my panzanella were simply delicious, which is just the sort of thing I'd expect from an Italian restaurant. Having recently returned from a holiday in Sicily I really think the food here is reminiscent of the fresh, simple and tasty dishes we had whilst away. This place is a little Italian treasure; I would definitely like to go back here and would recommend to all locals!

I came across Casa Roberta on Tripadvisor whilst looking for a good Italian restaurant in Ealing. It's slightly off the beaten track, which may explain why it was not busier on a Saturday night (or perhaps the regulars are off on their summer holidays). The staff were great as was the ambience of the restaurant (although slightly surprised when the Italian sounding background music changed to Simply Red) and the food was excellent. We started with gnocchi (my favourite) and a selection of ham and cheeses, and mini octopus and mussels. All superb. We then had the steak (aberdeen angus I think) which was perfectly cooked with a porcini mushroom sauce. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. We had a bottle of merlot to go with it, and lemon sorbet and limoncello afterwards. All in all just what I would hope for from a family run local restaurant. I will be back!

We ate for the second time here last Friday evening and sat outside. Without being asked the waitress brought up a very large metal jug of tap water, all that was missing was the washing bowl not the best start to the evening! When she eventually appeared again we asked for bottled water. Our food overall was good, a bit mean on some ingredients considering the price, but someone obviously knows how to cook in the kitchen. The waiting staff let the place down, very amateur, we had to keep asking for stuff, napkins, cutlery and spent a lot of the evening trying to catch their eye for another glass of wine or the bill. The place was'nt full, if it was i think we would still be sitting there waiting to be served! When you are being charged 12% for service I don't think it's too much to ask that you get some. Overall a disappointing evening, may try the place again in a few months in the hope they have upped their game as the cooking was good.

My partner and I have visited Casa Roberta a few times before but this time we went with a group of friends on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant is a small establishment at the end of a residential street near to Ealing Broadway shopping centre. We had paid a hefty deposit as we were a group of more than six people and had also pre-ordered our starters and main courses. Normally this irritates me but it is a small place and it did at least mean our first course was served pretty quickly. The food was authentic and tasty and much enjoyed by our friends, several of whom had not visited Casa Roberta before. The menu has recently been extended from its previous modest origins - a welcome innovation as the original menu was a bit limited. Everyone thought the food quality was excellent and there was a reasonable selection of wines on offer - the Montepulciano proved very popular! Roberta the owner and staff were on hand throughout the evening and we appreciated the warm welcome and discrete but attentive service. Only minor glitch was they forgot I had already paid a big deposit when we were presented with the full bill without the deposit being deducted. This was quickly and amicably rectified. All in all, a fun evening in a great neighbourhood restaurant that made us feel we had found a little piece of Italy in the heart of suburbia.

This is my second visit to Casa Roberta, with a different friend. This time I had a voucher for the lunch menu, whereas last time I went in the evening. I enjoyed it just as much. I had the Bruscetta Miste (again, I loved it last time), the chicken and a dessert which I can't remember the name of, however is a lovely frozen ice cream with an expresso poured over the top. The advantage of me going at that time is that I have to be careful with my caffeine intake and usually wouldn't be able to have that dessert or I'd be up all night. A couple of touches that I loved, one was the jug of water placed on the table without being asked, the second was the provision of olives and breadsticks in the beginning. I also appreciated that the owners had taken my suggestion and added a dairy free, lighter addition to the dessert menu. On this occasion I decided not to go for that one as I couldn't resist the ice cream (and I can get away with a little milk) however it was really lovely to see a restaurant that caters for different dietry requirements is fantastic. I am sure I will go again, with or without a voucher as it is close to home and really really lovely.

Everyone needs a dependable local eatery for those nights that you can't be bothered to cook. Casa Roberta is one of those places. From the moment you step through the door everything seems homely. There's a wonderful laid back ambiance as if you were eating in a sitting room. The welcomes are warm from the waiting staff and the menu (refreshingly short at only 21 items) is full of charming anecdotes. Whilst drinking a wonderful craft Italian lager and nibbling on complementary olives you can see the menu exudes home made pasta and freshness. I started with the crostini with anchovies, a gorgeous spin on cheesy garlic bread and my other half had the grilled smoked cheese which was beautifully balanced with some grilled courgettes. Mains were equally as delectable. The trofie pasta with sausage was a perfect blend of meat and sauce whilst the already much lauded lasagne was exquisite. Two courses with drinks and service came to just over 40 pounds. Go, you won't be disappointed.

I contacted Roberta a month or so before my birthday in March about hosting a lunch for 16. She was extremely friendly and we soon met to discuss the menu. I brought my mum along and she brought us out the wines to taste. Roberta was a great communicator. On the actual day, we all sat down to a lovely lunch. The restaurant has the feel of a cosy neighbourhood place, and the food similarly feels very homemade and simple. The starters were ample- we were really impressed with the portions. The mains were smaller but tasty. There was a small issue with the desserts- there were only a few of some of the desserts on offer so not everyone got their first choice. I was a bit disappointed with this as I had been asked to get everyone to pre-order. Roberta was very apologetic however and offered me a free desert on my next visit. The desserts are all really good. All in all, it was a fun lunch at a very reasonable price. Many thanks Roberta.

I know an adverse review will no doubt incur the owner's wrath, but having posted more than 100 reviews, the majority extremely complimentary, I felt I had to express my extreme disappointment in this dining experience, specially in view of the other reviews given and our great expectationsOn arrival the greeting was not particularly warm, I was merely asked if we had booked as there appeared to be no record of this. As this was a voucher deal and the booking had been made by email, fortunately I had the printed confirmation as well as the voucherThe restaurant is in a nice villagey part of Ealing and we liked the good quality table cloths with matching proper serviettes. The bread sticks with oil and olives was a nice touch. There were no soft drinks on the menu, the waitress merely recited the short choice. Duly two unopened cans were put on the table with 2 glasses, no offer of ice or lemon. The carafe of tap water with fruit and mint was a nice touch, but we were given no glasses with this. My lobster soup was thin and tasteless and actually contained one prawn and a few mussels. I would have expected a much more meaty concoction with some aioli. The portion of crostini was large and well presented. I found my lamb and chips rather tasteless and odd that it was served on a bed of lettuce. The aubergine dish was hot only in parts. The desserts were of excellent quality. When I asked for the bill I was charged 10% service on the full price of the meal, not the voucher price, I had no idea how much the drinks cost as the bill with its additions and subtractions looked very complicated to my simple brain, however as the drinks on the online menu are a very reasonable £1.50 each, on reflection I am surprised to have a bill for drinks and service of £9.95. This is most certainly not in line with the numerous other places we have visited on vouchers. We found the atmosphere in the restaurant very cold and unwelcoming, the staff extremely unfriendly, no one asked at any point if everything was ok or said goodbye when we left. We felt very uncomfortable and therefore decided to have coffee elsewhere. As mentioned at the beginning of my review, I will no doubt get a very adverse response from the owner, but as this is a forum for opinions I felt that in view of such a negative experience I had to give mine

We, like many others went on a Groupon deal, which was 3 course lunch. I would say that the service was good, but the starter really lets them down. I see that a year ago someone also complained about the bruschetta and I am surprised that the owners have not either scrapped it or improve their delivery. The description was anchovies with grilled cheese, what was served looked like 4 slices of toasted Hovis and instead of whole anchovies, some paste and grated cheese put under the grill. Totally unappetising and only ate one slice. Why would you want to fill yourself up with his volume of bread.Thankfully the fish main course was well cooked and dessert with fruits of the forest and cream was lovely, so to make this a 5 start change the recipe!

I would never or would recommend this restaurant to any one. The Lady was rude, The food was extremely salty, when we complained. The waitress said that's the way they cook in Rome. All the courses we had except for one was terrible. We had to drink lots of water over the next three days even could not go to sleep had terrible stomach problems.I am very surprised with this in all my years, I have never been to a restaurant as bad as this.

We tried out the restaurant using a Groupon voucher, which included starters, mains, desserts for 2 with a glass of wine each. The food was amazing, fresh, tasty and full of flavour. I would definitely go back without a voucher. The only fault (which isn't a big thing for some) is that the wine was not cold.

We ate there for the second time yesterday for lunch.Service was perfect. There were prompt enough but not in-your-face.Skipped starters and straight to the mains. My partner had Fettuccine Roberta, which is the pasta with sausage, mushrooms and chilli. She'd had the same dish last time when it came with larger chunks of sausage but they've re-worked it to small pieces. Same great flavour.I had Stufato di Manzo, which is chopped small pieces of beef in a rich sauce with creamed potatoe and salad. I'm a fussy eater and don't like fat or grissle but my meat was 100% lean and tender. To be honest I thought the salad didn't work. Some leaves, some diced tomato and a slosh of oil on the same plate as the meat and potatoes. It wasn't horrible but a portion of broccoli would have worked much better.Pud for partner was a scoop of ice cream covered in crushed amaretto biscuit and floating in a bowl of coffee. Can't remember what name they gave it but it was lovely.I skipped. Tempted by the Tiramisu but I remembered I'd had that last time. OK but very, very creamy so I decided it wasn't quite worth the fat and calories.House white wine was good. House red was rustic but went well with the food.Pleased to see they were quite busy - well deserved. They get 4 stars, which I see a quite a high rating.

5 star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I had lunch today here with my boyfriend, and we can say just positives! For me the whole place has a very friendly, family atmosphere, you can see how they make the food at the kitchen at the back, and the outside toilet was absolutely adorable for me! I am from Hungarian countryside and I love these type of houses! Shame on those people who commented badly about the outside toilet! It's very clean and tidy! The dishes were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I ate the best Lasagne ever in my life!!!!! Big big handshake for the chef.Millefoglie was amazing too, my boyfriend had Pana Cotta, he was blown away by it.Thank you so much!Roberta (the owner) served the food for us, she is lovely and very friendly too.Oh, I could have stayed there all afternoon! It's a definitely going back and telling about it to all my friends! :)Thank you very much for Roberta and her crew!

My wife and I ate had the pleasure of dining at Casa Roberta last night. While far from central London, this restaurant is well worth the trip. The breaded lamb main was very succulent and tender, and unlike most lamb dishes we have tried in London, it had a pleasing aftertaste. The desserts we tried, a pastry cake and Tiramusu, were delectable and should not be missed no matter how full you may be from the generously sized mains and antipasta. To cap off the wonderful evening, the hosts are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I cannot more highly recommend this restaurant.

This unpretentious reasonably priced restaurant produces authentic Italian food that I absolutely adore. Roberta runs the front of house and her brother Mara cooks. His home made pasta surpasses any pasta you have ever eaten. A limited menu is always a good sign, nothing is pre-cooked but everything is fresh home cooked and tasty really really lovely. I have been back loads of time (but I may be a sad fat pasta addict). Go and impress somebody with the food,

Cara Roberta,We had a lovely meal at Casa Roberta last Saturday night. We started with yummy Roman cheese on toast (bruschetta with anchovies), then had wonderfully fresh seafood platters and very indulgent homemade tiramisu. All combined with bubbly prosecco and a welcoming, warm family atmosphere. We're definitely coming again soon and bringing la famiglia.

For my starter I ate Bruschette Miste, which was a selection of vegetables, soft cheese and strawberries on toasted bread. I chose it because I love strawberries and was intrigued about how these would go with the other ingredients. It was an excellent choice and was my favourite part of the meal. This would be my starter of choice at this restaurant every time! The portion size was generous. I look forward to returning to this restaurant to sample again. The service was unhurried, friendly and relaxed. if you are in a hurry, it would be a great idea to let them know when you arrive as I am sure the staff would cater for you, however for me it was perfect as I find nothing more annoying than waiters hovering around constantly waiting for you to finish, so someone else can take your place. The atmosphere is great too. This is a small family run establishment, with tasteful decor. The only comment I have is regarding the dessert menu, which is very milk/cream heavy. I have to watch my lactose intake, so more dairy free choices, such as sorbets, would be valued. For this reason, if I returned I would skip dessert. Altogether a lovely evening.

4 of us dined here on a very quiet Sunday night, with excellent service from the 2 young waitresses, but only one other table was occupied. We had purchased Amazon vouchers for 'too good to be true prices' having read other reviews. So glad not to have paid full prices on the menu, which on reading looked great. A bad start with Crostini and Bruschetta served on stale barely toasted 'supermarket' bread, sharing starter o.k, excellent lasagne, likewise calamari and prawns dish, my quite nice salmon served with chips! (not the grilled vegetables as expected) husband's chicken main quite good, puddings nice. Our main gripe was that the ventilation in the restaurant needs to be sorted out, streaming steamed up windows, the whole place, us and our clothes stinking of frying (old oil?) With so many other very average places to eat out in Ealing, doubt whether we will return!

Went to Casa Roberta for the first time yesterday - Saturday evening - and can't imagine why I have left it so long! We were a group of four who had taken up an Amazon Local offer which turned out to be excellent value - in spite of the two extra bottles of wine we indulged in. All the starters we shared and the mains and desserts were delicious. Roberta served us and could not have mean more welcoming. We will all certainly be going again soon.

Maybe they had an off day, but my wife and I went went for Sunday lunch after reading some excellent reviews. Our bruschetta were nothing special, and the portions too large as if to compensate for the price. Our mains were awful. My wife's prawns were average, the squid indigestible. One almost needed a bandsaw to get through it.My beef stew in red wine were little chewy bullets of beef, with no juice at all, and some wishy washy mashed potato, served with salad. To finish I had a strange creme brulee. tepid and almost liquid like runny creme anglais. If this was home cooking, frankly - why bother?

Went with my husband and two daughters for dinner on Saturday. It was a busy night so service was a little slow but the ambience of the restaurant and the quality of the food when it arrived made up for this and made for a nice relaxing night out. The food was authentic tasting and very tasty. My daughter had the lobster soup in a bread bowl as a starter which she loved. The other starters we had. - seafood bruschetta were equally delicious as were our mains. Roberta was a gracious hostess and even declined to charge us for a portion of our meal as they ran out of the Tiramisu we wanted. It seems a hit with locals and it's no wonder, it had a nice homely atmosphere to it. An antidote to the more sterile, rushed atmosphere of the Italian chain restaurants. My only criticism was that we like partaking in bread and olives/olive oil dips in Italian restaurants and they didn't appear to have any bread save for the 4 tiny breadsticks served. Overall I'm sure I'll be returning here with friends.

The place has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. You can tell straight away that it is a family-run restaurant and from reading the menu you can tell some of the recipes have been passed through generations to give them their own angle. The food was delicious. Me and my girlfriend both had the mozzarella and anchovies to start and the sea-bass with king prawns for main which was cooked to perfection. The apple crumble we had for desert was the best I've tasted and was presented nicely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for quality and price as it isn't expensive either.

Lots of people here saying just how great this restaurant is. True, Roberta is a very genial host, warm and welcoming and the staff are very muh on the ball. The food is OK - it's not amazing, and it's not awful; and that's kind of how I feel about the whole experience really. The pasta I am assured is home made. Last weekend, we had ordered the special of chestnut flour parpadelle with mushrooms. I am used to much bigger parpadelle to this, and it had all stuck together too much, lacking the kind of umami you get when you eat moist yummy pasta. Bit disappointed. The starters were different - anchovy paste (homemade) toasted with cheese - these were good; albei the bread was a little processed i.e. not fabulous italian rustic bread. The wine choice is quite limited with a few dull favourites like Montepulciano and Chianti and Pino Grigieurgh. But the prices are good so if it's easy ok Italian at a good price then it hits the mark. I am wandering if the menu is too big ? Too many options normally means too much for chef to try and do great things to. I would reduce the fixed menu and really bring the specials to life with a few special wines to match - as per The Walpole and The Trattoria in Northfields. Casa Roberta can still keep its USP with its warm wonderful service and attentive staff...
