Casa Cafe/Cheese Cottage in Leicester

This is a friendly café with a real family feeling. The food is freshly prepared and well presented. Would recommend the Casa Cafe for breakfast or lunch. Whether you want a full English or something lighter or are looking for a cob for lunch or something more substantial... I highly recommend Louie's Special Omelette!

Just fancied a break from shopping and some coffee and cake which is what my wife had. I opted for a cheese and onion panini which came with chips. Seemed like a no frills place but clean, plenty of seating and outside seating in a great location and authenticity Italian. We were surprised at the extensive menu, certainly not just a coffee shop. The food and drinks were excellent especially for the price as was the service , without question we shall be back.

I dread eating out as I worked in catering for many years and you find yourself being super critical! Welcome to the Casa Cafe, great food and an excellent price compared to another we'd visited the day before. Bought my partner and arranged to meet his oldest friend here for a birthday brunch. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Bought 2 breakfasts and a panini, 2 teas and orange juice. Clean premises, super friendly staff.

Stumbled across this when we were up showing our boys the Uni. We’d stayed at the Burleigh on the campus but couldn’t face a hotel buffet breakfast that is invariably over priced and over cooked as it stands there under the heated lights. We followed our normal plan of just driving into the nearest town and seeing what we come access and we hit gold. The menu was good with even my veggie wife catered for which is a bit of a rarity. The food was good quality, well cooked and was more than we could eat and the coffee was top notch. The best but was it simply had a great vibe. I presume the owners are of Italian descent as there were a group of gentlemen inside who had met up for breakfast and they were clearly having a great time chatting and laughing and it gave the place a buzz. If you find yourself in Loughborough and want a good feed I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Great little cafe doing simple food really well and good value. Obviously well known to locals with a really friendly, welcoming feel. Excellent coffee too.

Popped in here yesterday having never been to Loughborough but needing some brunch. Excellent panini, freshly made & great Italian coffee. Reasonably priced & a small seating area, in a bit of a sun trap. Friendly service and a good choice, worth a visit

The person on the till has tried to short change my 81 year old Mum, giving her change for £10 rather than £20. When queried, they handed the full change back without question. This has happend more than once. I wonder how many elderly people are experiencing this 'mistake'.

Had a wonderful time at casa! Servers are so lovely as well as other customers, lovely atmosphere. My partner got the deluxe milkshake it was amazing! Would definitely recommend! The food was gorgeous would come again!

We ate here on our first day for breakfast. the food was so good & the staff friendly & helpful, not least in being flexible, that we came here for the next 2 days were were staying on Loughborough. Unpretentious, but well cooked food, but the staff make this a top rating

Me and my wife popped in on Saturday 7th August amd was greeted by a lady member of staff. We sat at a lovely clean table even though the whole cafe was spotless. The cafe has toilet facilities. We both ordered the full breakfast and coffees. The meals and drinks were excellent. All staff were very friendly. We will come back again when in the area

Fabulous basic food, well cooked & very yummy! The staff are so friendly & always have a smile or a chat for you.. The very best chips in the whole of Loughborough too! I always go there when I am in town - if there is room as they are always busy... ! Thats speaks for itself :)

Had a baked potato meal at a time when they were just about to close, the service was really good, the staff were very pleasant and conversing with interest in our custom. This was the first time I've visted this place and I'm definitely coming back here just because of the nice staff.

My first proper meal out, since lock down. Food and service was very good. We sat outside and were served at our table.

Menu choice is great; not overly fussy, just simple, good quality food. Staff were hospitable and friendly. Generous portions. Prices are reasonable.

A group of us meet from around the country in Loughborough between Christmas and New Year. We usually breakfast at The Amber Rooms but, dismayed by the way the owner of that (Wetherspoons) chain treats his staff over politics we wanted a change and we agreed that supporting a local independent cafe was a far better way to direct our custom. This place bent over backwards to accommodate us and even when fewer of our group made it to breakfast than we were expecting they really didn't mind. The food is lovely with proper fresh tomatoes and mushrooms and it's excellent value for money. We will be back!

Lovely, friendly coffee shop with lots of regulars which tells you something! Coffee is good, breakfasts too and other hot food-love it!! 👍

Came here with my hubby I had a lovely bacon roll didn’t like it being buttered think they should ask you first in case of allergy’s . Hubby had omelette with chips and salad the omelette was nice but he didn’t eat the chips or salad was wanting it more for a breakfast. The coffee was good a nice little Italian cafe . Didn’t have to wait too long for food to be brought to the table . Cooked fresh which is good to see . Staff were friendly

We use to go here many years ago and called today but gone down hill.Service was ok but the coffees were like drinking hot milk. The toast was buttered and marmaladed by the staff which isnt on. The bacon sandwich was so fatty and greasy. A no go place for us

Visited casa cafe Loughborough on Thursday, What a gem of a place, Ordered cheese & onion, & tuna panini,comes with freshly fried chips and fresh salad,it was lush, Defo return to this cafe, Very clean and friendly staff😄

A group of 8 of us (incl 2 children) had stayed overnight at the Premier Inn. A friend in the group did some research for places to breakfast.We opted for Casa Café - it couldn't have been better. They set up a reserved table in their adjoining cheese deli.The service was second to none - friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Having a few changes to the breakfasts on offer, was no problem at all.Food was excellent - tasty and well cooked. Coffee was good too.Above all, it was exceptional value for money. A (massive) full breakfast was just £6.If you're in Loughborough, check this place out. I would definitely return!

A busy cafe is always a good sign and we managed to get the last table which happened to be in the deli next door.

Great coffee I go there 2-3 times a day and the breakfast is amazing thee service is outstanding highly recommended

Visited there for morning coffee, ordered a large Americano. As the barista was grinding the beans, I heard the owner say " too much, use less". Didn't think anything of it at the time, but when I tasted my coffee, it was pathetically weak. I always try to support independent coffee shops, but not when they are charging full price for watered down coffee!

Been here several times and the food quality has never varied. The prices are reasonable and I find the service spot on.

We chose this place for breakfast on our way through Loughborough due to the reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. My husband and I are both gluten and dairy intolerant. On explaining this on arrival, the chap cooking had a chat with my husband about what we could eat and cleaned down the griddle before cooking our food.

Wow! What an absolute excellent find I just had to give them feedback. So was surprised to find negative reviews.....Here's a more accurate review of our experience. Walking through the hustle and bustle of this busy market town we stumbled upon Casa Cafe. It was obviously popular due to the amount of customers but we found a table which was quickly cleared and cleaned from the previous diners by a lovely and friendly young lad. We ordered drinks and food from the menu which offered a great variety and surprisingly well priced for a town centre. We could see our food being freshly cooked and our coffees were excellent. We think the staff are probably a family and we were really welcomed. Our food was hot and delicious and our server couldn't have been more helpful. I was surprised to read anything negative about the place as judging by the constant stream of customers its very popular. It must be terribly hard work and I'm not surprised you may occasionally run out of a menu item... The food is fantastic. Well done. We'll be back on our next trip into Loughborough

super surprised. We lived in Brussels for 8 years and it reminded me of those E Pelliccis in Bethnal Green. Great atmosphere / bacon / cappuccino. A good mix of Italians / Brits / East Europeans. Melting pot in a convivial atmosphere.

An unashamedly old-fashioned, comfortable market caff, but run by lovely Italians, who always have a smile and a cheery word for customers, some of whom are more friends than regulars. Popular, so it's often impossible to grab one of the outside tables on a nice day. Well-stocked delicatessen attached. I always visit when in Loughborough.

The most clicky place in town - if your face fits then I am sure you will get good service, become a regular and you will get a hot drink and maybe hot food to go with it - as a casual one off visitor this all seemed too much, poor rude service, slow delivery of food and drink which was at best tepid - best avoided unless you are a chosen one, Ciao Baby

Called in to Casa Cafe for a quick light lunch and was impressed by this Italian family run business....very simple, well priced food but plenty of it and service was quick. My wife and I shared a toasted Parma Ham and cheese sandwich which they served us on two separate plates but appeared to have added extra chips and salad...nice touch.

Central cafe in nice pedestrian part of town , always busy for coffee and food! Lovely genuine Italian people and a good deli adjoining with more tables and cheese and meats. Mince pies are the best around!

Came in for breakfast and asked for changes to breakfast to cater for gluten intolerance. The very friendly member of staff offered gluten free bread meaning my wife could have a bacon and egg sarnie, which was exactly what she wanted. Lovely little place.

Visitamos el café en un rápido viaje a Loughborough. Venía y tenía dos capuchinos. El precio era perfectamente aceptable. El servicio del personal neutral pero el café era donde todo va por el desagüe. Para una casa de café italiano llamado el café era vergonzoso. La leche para la espuma más duros causando que haga el café imbebible por 10 minutos y anulando cualquier gusto el café tenía. La relación leche café tan débil que parecía una taza de té. mal hecho Lástima

Visité para almorzar con una amiga el sábado 20 de agosto; había mucha gente, pero no absolutamente lleno es tranquilo en Loughborough, aunque por el momento. Mi amigo tenía una tortilla y tuve el queso y tomate panini - ambos venían con una ensalada bien vestido y patatas fritas maravillosas. Yo estaba muy contento con mi elección; a veces es decepcionante, normalmente panini porque puede ser curiosamente pasada pero era bastante agradable. Mi amigo no administrar todos sus chips, tan abundante que tenían; QUE YO, como soy un arreglé por un chip bien. Además, no tuve desayunamos a propósito. Me pareció que la comida era muy buena relación calidad-precio. La señora que nos atendió era amable y servicial - nos recomendó la bebida de limón que estaba genial. No visitar el retrete así que no puedo comentar sobre eso, aunque mi amigo y ella salió sonriente lo suficiente.

Ve aquí todo el tiempo, me encanta la comida y el café, y el personal es muy atento y amable. Siempre recordar lo que comer y beber l. Recomiendo encarecidamente 😊

Amazing how one can pass a restaurant, cafe, shop, etc., so many times without ever entering, almost to the point of it being invisible! Casa Cafe is a perfect example.... probably been there forever and must have passed it by a thousand times without a second thought. Last weekend during a rare Sunday morning shopping excursion, we found ourselves out on a limb not realizing that the shops don't open until 10.30 - 11 ish, and wanting a change from the Wetherspoons breakfast fare, decided to poke our heads in the Casa Cafe. A very welcoming young lady made our mind up to stay and have brekkers, and ushered us towards a table near the window. That's when we realized that it was one of only a couple of tables that were empty..... the place was packed!! Within a few minutes we were served drinks and whilst gulping a wondferully big mug of tea, I perused the menu. I really didn't fancy a great big fry-up, but noticed they did 'half breakfast', which I plumped for, and so did wifey! Not sure where the 'half' bit came in, as when the food arrived we assumed that we had been given a full breakfast, that was until I noticed the full breakfast on the table opposite, and by heck!! The food was generous, clean, tasty, and wonderfully freshly cooked. As we left, we threw thank you's at each other, and I left a 'tip', something I rarely do when breakfasting out. Yes, we were both well chuffed..... then the shopping started!!!! Ah well, all good things come to an end!

popped in for a quick lunch on the off chance1 toasty and chips = not bad at all ... but i would recommend their special omelette. for around £6 it is amazing value and very tasty served with chips and a lovely side salad. a nice mix of italian and british but i think they need to make more of being italian just because they couldlovely tasty coffeevery friendly staff and its clearly an independent and their family business so i would ask that you support thatif i was to have a comment its that there arent many tables (unless there is another area i missed...) i would go back

We were looking got something to eat for a late breakfast to last the day as we were off on a driving experience. Fast service although busy, friendly staff and locals eating there so always a good sign!!!Food we'd reasonably priced and the latte was lovely. Well worth a visit and may call back tomorrow before our journey home.

I visited with my daughter for the first time last Saturday for the first time. We'd walked past many times and mentioned that it would be great to go in and sample the menu. If you'r looking for well thought out, honest food with a twist at very fair prices, then Casa is a great place to go. We both had panini's which had chips and a salad included in the price - bargain!! As I said, good soulful food at great prices. Staff were friendly and helpful and despite being run off their feet (they were very apologetic about the wait for food), they still managed a great service. The only slightly minor point was that we were sat near the toilet (only table left), which meant we got a waft of toilet (air freshener) every time someone went to use it. The cafe is a slightly strange L shape, so you can either sit in the main part opposite the counter in the sun, or where we sat, which felt quite isolated, shady and a bit out of the way.However if you're after good, tasty, straightforward food with a friendly service then Casa's your place. You know, one of those places where you feel like your money was well spent and you have a truly satisfied tummy.

table and chairs are to big, you cant get in properly. there we're people stitting at tables for 4-6 on there own just doing a crossword ands the place was full with a queue at the till, only ordered sausage sandwiches and they we're the worst ive ever eaten, cheap not cooked tastless.

We called in here on a Sunday morning and were immediately struck by the warm welcome we were given. The cafe was a reasonable size and, although busy, we were able to find a table. Plenty of space, no squeezing into your seat. I ordered the full breakfast which was magnificent, hot fresh and well-presented. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her toasted sandwich and chips. We both had drinks and I accepted the offer of an extra shot in my americano. Lovely place - don't forget to visit next time you're in Loughborough.
