Absolutely lovely little coffee shop, waited a little while as they had forgotten about our order but was given two custard tarts by way of apology. Coffee and tarts were beautiful. Will definitely be back.

We were told by many people about this new coffee spot and we popped in to check it. We were welcomed by soft and gentle music. The place itself is bigger on the inside just like TARDIS ;) And it is cosy and relaxing. I really like the style it is decorated in. People who run the place/ work there are really great in creating unique atmosphere - restful and a little bit Southern. You can even forget for a minute about all the rain and wind outside :) We popped in just for a coffee but we left with bag filled with Portuguese (I believe:) ) treats. Of course we had coffee as well. It was gentle yet rich in flavour. They have as well big selection of pastries. The one we choose was light and fruity. Just lovely. We will definitely visit again.

Wonderful bakery which we visited yesterday. Good selection of sweet treats as well as some savoury options. I tried the chorizo cheese and ham bread thing (sorry I can’t remember the name) which was very tasty. The bread was very soft. I also had the cod fish cake which was also nice. Crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside. It was surprisingly tasty despite having it cold. The star of the show was the Pastel de nata which was amazing! Nice pastry on the outside and lovely custard on the inside. The lady that served us was also very friendly. I would love to come back to try something else next time because they have very authentic items.

I found the "famous" pasteis de nata just OK. Service was neither particularly friendly nor wearing protective masks properly, nor saying anything to customers without protection. Been recently visiting Scotland and found Casa Amiga close to our stay. My husband is Portuguese and we were very happy to found taste of Portugal and have a little treat. The first day we went cafe looked disorganised and unfriendly, gentlemen behind the counter was a bit gruff and did not let us feel welcome at all (which is total opposite what normally you get in Portuguese cafes and cafes in general). Coffee and pastry was good though. They also have a Portuguese products to sell so we only came back to buy few things on a go the next day. To our surprise was a different team and you could feel more positive vibe in the air. Lady behind the counter was friendly, polite and helpful, wish we could have the same experience day before. Overall good selection of Portuguese food and pastries just hope for a right staff 😉

There are a lot of coffee shops in Leith Walk so I'm really pleased that we found Casa Amiga almost by accident. The atmosphere is good and the staff are really friendly. If you like black coffee with a really good flavour, not just a 'bitter hit', then try the Americano - it's so good. My wife had a latte and said that was also very good. We also had some of the snacks - there's lots to be tempted by. If you like fish, try the cod friiters (warmed up) - they are very moreish. If you prefer something sweet, try the coffee flavoured 'biscuit cake'. We liked the place so much that we went back again a couple of days later just to get another 'hit' of good coffee.

We've been to groats before when it was a pop-up, we were over the moon when it found a permanent home, then not so happy when they announced they were moving. On that note, we had to go back and try it again! Famous for it's porridge, we went for one porridge and one French toast. Two refillable coffees to wash it down. The French toast was perfect, thick sliced and perfectly cooked. When you do something so good, keep doing it - this is groats all over. Will be looking out for when they next find a home.
