This is a fantastic cafe. Been coming here for years with the family. Every time the food and service is superb. The welcoming and friendly Anna is an asset to the place. Wouldn’t be the same without her. Looking forward to next time. Odi.

Excellent place with extremely pleasant, polite and friendly staff. Went for the first time as I was visiting the building society next door. The place was very clean. This is a gem of an eatery! A cafe of the kind that has almost disappeared. Superb ham & cheese toasted sandwich & ditto square-shaped scone with butter & jam. Food is cooked/prepared to order. Stanmore's senior citizens are here in numbers. The lovely Anna and Ania provide superb service with a smile.

Cartons is a very welcoming patisserie in Stanmore. The food is always fresh and Ben always has the friendliest staff to make the customers’ visit a happy one. But without doubt the Queen of Cartons is ANNA! She has been part of the furniture for a few years now; she almost has celebrity status with her popularity amongst the customers. She is always smiling, always personable, always efficient and enhances everyone’s visit with her charm and supreme class. Well done Anna and well done Cartons. Peter R

Delicious. From the outside it just looks like an average cafe. The food is very good as is the service. Friendly staff. Great service. Good comforting, freshly made, home cooked food. They have a range of items from pasta to salads, breakfast, pastries and more! Big variety. You could tell a lot of the clients were regular locals. I had the jacket potato with sweetcorn. It came with a little side salad. It was perfect. Felt healthy too. They give the butter on the side as well as a dressing for the salad. Big portion. Cheap too. Very clean. Highly recommend.

went for saturday brunch, like the title says always reliable and good food backed up by warm friendly and efficient service. We only hope the clients return as previously. this is a business that deserves to continue.

Generous size portions, reasonable prices and quick service made for a very decent lunch. Don't expect fine dining just good, honest food. The chicken, mozzarella, pesto and spinach pannini and apple strudel are my recommendations.

Lunch was realy good plenty of variety on menu.we all oredered diffrent lunches and was bought up at same time. Service was excellent.first time for me coming here.and if in area would come here again. People were quiening for tables.and we was not rushed at all.you pay as you leave.

We had never been to this cafe before. We met a relative who said it was a good place to have lunch. She was not wrong. A very varied menu, reasonable, we were not rushed. The staff look as of they really enjoy working there and are really friendly and helpful. It was also very busy which speaks volumes.

Saturday morning and it’s quite busy lot of people having breakfast we had hot drinks. The coffee was okay and clean inside and reasonable too. You order and pay when u finish as you leave the cafe.

Visited today for lunch 2 of us - packed as usual friendly service good food but I think I was overcharged? Had double egg and chips and can of Diet Coke. My brother had avocado and eggs benedict, portion of chips and a can of Diet Coke. Total £20.49.

We called in for breakfast before heading into London for a football match. The cafe is clean, tidy and bright. The young lady serving was very friendly, we noticed that apart from us she seemed to know everyone, which says lots for repeat business. We ordered the full breakfast and must say it was so much better than most. It was served piping hot, and cooked well. It is only suitable if you’ve a healthy appetite. The gent doing the cooking seemed really keen to make sure we’d enjoyed the food. With 2 mugs of tea and 2 breakfasts the bill was just over £20. On and one final thing, the toilet was absolutely spotless, always a good sign. Happy to recommend.

Called in with a friend at 8am Saturday on route to West London having parked nearby. Both had the full english breakfast wtih tea and toast. Served hot , fresh and very tasty. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and attentive in a spotless establishment. 2 large breakfasts, two slices of toast with each and four large mugs of tea £20 and worth every penny. Have eaten here a few times now and it's a pleasant place that gets very busy around lunchtime. I normally go around 12 for their sesame bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon which is delicious. They also serve all day breakfast, good pastries and cakes and a variety of sandwiches and baked potatoes.

The food in Cartons is always fresh, delicious, good quality and served hot . Big portions too. I like the variety of the menu from full English breakfast to avocado salads, everyone will find their favorite. The coffee is great. Lovely and kind owner. I would definitely recommend Cartons.

Cartons is bright, clean and friendly with fast, efficient service and excellent food. Really good bacon sandwich was well presented with a crisp salad garnish. Generously sized pot of tea. If I’m ever in Stanmore again I’ll definitely think of coming here.

Really good choice of foods, all freshly made and some lovely coffee options. Most importantly, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the pricing should put Starbucks and co to shame!

the food is delicious but what makes Carltons stand out above other establishments is that (at no extra charge) they use different types of milk catering for allergies and intolorance. For me who is lactose intolorent they have the best milk Arla lactose free so I can have a latte without consequences. Thank you Carltons you are wonderfil.

Everything is always fresh and hot!, nothing is too much trouble. Always quick and friendly service no place better for a sausage sandwich.

I have been going into Cartons for quite a few years. It is ideal for a quick lunchtime snack and just having coffee if you prefer earlier on. It is always busy from about 12 noon so you might have to wait for a table. Whe they are busy, you might have to wait a bit for your order to come but it is never a seriously long wait.

This place is always busy...and it is because the food and staff are brilliant. It's simple, well made menu items served with a smile and polite staff.

Went here for the first time this morning a new healthier lifestyle has meant missing a sunday breakfast . So good to find a cafe that has healthy options I had the smoked salmon and avocado and it was great quality was good and came with salad . More expensive than a greasy spoon but so much better well worth the money

I popped in here for the first time. Very busy. Nicely laid out, clean and really friendly staff. Varied menu all homely comfort food. Breakfast, sandwiches, pastas, cakes and pastries, jacket potatoes and salads. Given the cold weather, I was craving a jacket potatoe and ordered this with butter and warm mushrooms. To drink I had a diet coke. The food came out quite quickly but was warm, fresh and delicious. Perfect for a cold snowy Saturday afternoon. It was a big potatoe. Mushrooms and butter on the side to add accordingly and a small salad with various dressing options. Felt home cooked and delicious. I finished it all and also had a lemon cheesecake which was very nice. Food was very cheap and portions big. You pay at the counter. Service was very good and friendly. It's a no frills, pleasant cafe with home cooked simple food. It's nice to catch up with friends or for a solo visit to have me time and enjoy a lovely meal, snack or hot drink. Located right on Stanmore Broadway. Would definitely recommend.

Often pop in here either for a tea/coffee or a bite of lunch. Menu is pretty standard but staff are friendly and food always freshly made.

Ooo what a gem!!! The staff are welcoming and friendly. Food was lovely and fresh. Had a huge jacket potato. I have special dietary needs and they were very helpful and understanding. Another visit is definitely going to happen.

Not very high standard cooking but ok for a quick brunch or breakfast. Poor quality cooking of eggs with greasy chips. Very limited menu.Staff tried hard but its all low quality stuff. Wouldn't come back.

Not enough choice for vegetariants. Needs to expand the menu to include more vegetarian options and dishes. Like an omelette breakfast with tomatoes, hash browns etc. Also expensive for a cafe. Staff however are all friendly, hence 3 stars.

Solemos ir para el brunch de sábado. Este lugar está siempre limpio, ordenado, el servicio es atento sin ser dominantes. La comida es fresca, normalmente voy para el croque monsieur, mi esposa el sándwich de atún. Ella nunca deja de deleitarse y el camino su placa es con ensalada, patatas fritas, etc. Que siempre sabes que estás en buena por un plato de comida.

Muy concurrida en sábado mediodía, pero había una mesa y me dieron una cálida bienvenida. Amable y eficiente personal y una gran variedad de sándwiches tostados y paninis para hacer mi elección. Estaba claro que muchos de los clientes eran asiduos Y fue grato ver el cuidado que el personal tomó para garantizar una experiencia satisfactoria. Precios justos y buen café añadido a mi visita y sin duda llamar de nuevo.

Mi mujer y yo fuimos para el brunch de sábado. Tuve el placer francés seis libras. 99 Dios mío este era sustancial y realmente excelente. Un croque monsieur con un huevo en la cima y patatas fritas y ensalada. Mi esposa tenía un onlette y champiñones. Ella era un conejito feliz. El personal de todas las niñas, pero agradable y atento. Este lugar está siempre lleno y con razón! ! ! ! .

This is a welcoming place. The decor understated. the staff always keep it clean. Furniture quite simple but comfortable. The service always warm, friendly not intrusive. The menu is substantial and varied. On saturday mornings you may have trouble getting a place to sit, but do make the effort.

So hospitable and great service. A really pleasant and warm place to have brunch or a quick snack. Owner was very welcoming and selection of cakes and pastries was very good. Will be returning as the impersonal service of the big chains in Stanmore (or anywhere for that matter) can get tiring. My new local favourite and would recommend to anyone.

Just had an amazing plough mans lunch,with my wife,daughter & grandson,the food here is so delicious a really pleasant establishment for lunch.

I visited Cartons for lunch.Informed by waitress that I would have to wait for table.I noticed 2 ladies sitting at table for 4 people ,I asked if I could sit there .I was informed that they wished to dine alone.I asked the ladies if I could share table and they declined,About 10 mins later I was seated at table close to office and are that food is distributed from.I felt quite uncomfortable.I noticed a free table buy window.I asked waitress politely if I could move there.She informed me that it was table for 2 people so my request was denied.I explained to her that my table was also a table for 2 as there were 2 chairs.I ate my lunch and left feeling very discriminated against because I was dining alone.Picture on Cartons website clearly shows a gentleman sitting at table by window dining alone.Why did I receive this treatment

Was going to go to Cafe Nero then happened to see Cartons. First impressions, a typical English tea room rarely found in London. Ordered a toasted sandwich, choice of three bread types. Staff friendly and welcoming and service swift. Superb sandwich good sized hearty portion and nice chips, huge bowl for sharing. All very reasonably priced. Pot of tea was great, two tea bags per pot but ask for hot water to keep it hot. Only I was very full up or I would have loved to try one of their delicious cakes. Recommend 100% and what a change from chain restaurants selling same old food. Well done Cartons.

Cartons is a really good place to take a sit for hours, the meal size is fantastic and unquestionable quality!The chief and the staff are wonderful!

Cartons is my family's go to for a late breakfast or lunch! Great for kids with an excellent menu! Great honest food!

I regularly visit this cafe for brunch or lunch and for a local cafe, the food is very good and as i said in the title, the chips are literally the nicest chips I have ever tasted and that includes michelin star restaurants! I won't get too carried away as it is a local sandwich bar, but the chips are very good. Apart from chips, they have the normal selection of sandwiches, breakfasts, jacket potatoes, salads and toasted sandwiches and eggs benedict etc. They have a few pastries and cakes on offer as well. It does get very busy from a local crowd of retired people, but the staff are generally quite efficient and friendly.

Cartons is a pleasant café in the centre of Stanmore with friendly service and a good choice of food and drink which is reasonably priced. Good for a snack or tea and cakes.

young friendly staff.,comfortable seating always clean, ,premises slightly on the small side, a noticeable regular clientele which is always a good sign, prices slightly on the high side, croissant, £ 1. 70p, coffee £ 2. 40p, service is quick and attentive. One of the few establishments that offer the read of newspapers. My wife and I go there regularly for saturday brunch which is consistently good. Generally nothing seems to much trouble .

Very good snack-type meals, such as beans on toast and eggs etc. It is very popular and hence is sometimes difficult to find a table as people tend to sit there for a while. Counter service for cakes is also available for take-away.

Food is basic and convenient but not much more. It's a decent bakery but not much else. Ok for a quick bite but nothing more.

my wife suggested we are there as she had enjoyed previous visits with her friends. However she found the smoked salmon had changed drastically and had to return it. Must say the staff were very helpful.

Always greeted by the staff, s w mu b o usually orders her open sandwich which she raves about, and I either have something on toast or croissant, latte etc. The service is always attentive and quick, the food is always well presented and tasty. It is slightly on the expensive side but not outrageous. Clearly many of the patrons go regularly as they seem to greet each other. We know from experience this is also a good place for a mid afternoon tea or cafe etc. Keep up the good work and free newspapers

I had booked this for a large party (18 adults & 9 babies) for a new parents reunion. I called the cafe 3 weeks in advance of the date and spoke to the owner who was happy to take the booking at the time. I happened to pop in a couple of days before our party to reconfirm our booking and I was disappointed to be told by the owner that they were unable to honour the booking as it happened to be on a Sunday which is their busiest day (why they agreed in the first place is beyond me!). I was left with no choice other than to cancel and try and find an alternative venue. I'd even left contact details with them but they failed to even contact me with enough notice.Can not comment on food or drink.

I can safely say that Cartons is the best coffee shop in Stanmore, and one of the best independent coffee shops I have been to! Food is DELICIOUS and very good value for money. Owner is always there (He is the main chef) and he is extremely corteous as well as his lovely staff. Keep it up the good work.

Usually packed out with locals - this is a great, independent cafe. Open from early morning until late afternoon: Excellent, freshly cooked food; friendly service...and the national newspapers too!Good value ...if ( when it's full) a little noisy!

Excellent service and freshly prepared, sandwiches, panini etc. Called in for a quick lunch before going to play cricket and was not disappointed. The service was quick and friendly (despite being very busy) and the food very good at a reasonable price.

Food is always lovely, and there is a real little buzz in their. Saturday breakfast is very good, and when its nice and hot, one can sit outside and watch the world go by... Not expensive at all... But they only take cash, so be warned, go in with some cash.....

It doesn't matter how busy this place gets, Ben and his staff are always really friendly and attentive. The food, a great selection of sandwiches and hot snacks are freshly prepared and generous sized portions unlike the overpriced bakery a few doors away. I have a bit of a weakness for their French fries which I try not to eat too often but buy a take away coffee from here most mornings. Highly recommended
