Carters Restaurant in East Renfrewshire

Had an early Sunday dinner here with my sister and 2 year old nephew. When I booked on their website the only option was Sunday roast however this wasn't the only option we were given when we got there, they were happy for us to choose from the regular menu too. I've got to take a moment to mention the kids menu, which was really well thought-out. We went with the "picnic" which was fries, ham, cheese, carrot and cucumber sticks and apple slices. This was just perfect for a kid his age and suited us as it meant he could pick away at it while the grown-ups had starters and main courses. I had the smoked chicken salad and then the Mac and cheese, both were delicious. The staff were lovely too, always smiling and helpful.

Friendly service with a warm welcome. Good selection of food that arrived at our table quickly. Unfortunately they had run out of the camembert starter. The chicken katsu was delicious and very filling.

Wednesday coffee as usual today. Very busy this morning as there is a conference on upstairs. Christmas lunch booked, can't be too early!

I booked at table here for my mothers 76th birthday lunch with our family. We have dined in the restaurant on a few occasions and if I have to be totally honest, I think it's actually got better. Manorview, the company that owns this hotel not only have the place looking great with being well maintained after 10 years since reopening, but the service was perfect and the food was of high standard, eight of us ate and with drinks, £240 including grat, cheap as chips (excuse the pun). Highly recommend this place for any occasion, I will definitely be recommending to friends. Thanks for the great service!

Although food is good, the service has been poor on the 2 occasions visited. On the first visit, the staff forgot to serve Yorkshire puddings with our Sunday lunch, and on second visit, they served the wrong dish. It took so long for the staff to rectify, that we ended up cancelling the dish. All we got was a rather insincere apology from the waiter. I won't be risking a third disappointment.

Awful kitchen Used to be good food till yesterday I ordered chicken burger and taste was awful Chicken with fish taste just because somebody in kitchen cook together in a oven chicken and fish Nice valentine's day been spent half a night been sick. Thanks for that

Had brunch. 2 small tasteless pancakes side by side on a plate with a hard fried egg does not constitute a "stack". Sausage good. Bacon good. My wife had eggs Benedict "bennies". Brought with bacon not smoked salmon. Eventually arrived. Poached eggs hard. Hollandaise sauce thick as butter on the muffin not the eggs. Overall not a very pleasant experience.

Really nice but took ages with our meal. But they redeemed themselves with free desserts Staff are really lovely. Lovely place.

Have used this restaurant regularly over the years and would recommend you try it out. Have never experienced poor service or meal.

Had ordered the beef burger. When it came it wasn't very nice, in fact only ate a quarter of it and most of the portion of chips. My husband had the chicken breast which came on top of a 'mash' - it looked anything but enticing. When I asked for the bill, I did say to the waiter that the burger was terrible and not very warm. His response, 'oh, sorry about that'! So disappointed!!
