Carrot 'N' Cake in North Tyneside

Well I can honestly say the Breakfast was really good. We got it recommend by a lovely man we meet in the street. We were not disappointed. Breakfast excellent for the price you cant go wrong. Lovely friendly staff

We visited this cafe the staff advised there was a wait and they were very polite and welcoming. We watched as the front end staff severed customers and interacted with friendly conversation as well as cleaning tables as soon as customers left. I was impressed by the welcome and goodbyes to all staff. 20 mins wait for food to arrive however this was a good full plate of food all fresh and we all enjoyed our dinner. Will definitely return to this warm welcoming cafe. portions are well worth the money and i recommend this family run cafe to anyone.

Have been to Carrot & Cake cafe numerous times with my friend Caroline , The food is amazing and the service is great Shirley's scones are something else Best scones I and Caroline have ever tasted . A fantastic little community cafe and where everyone one knows everyone. The staff care for the elderly visitors and this is refreshing to see They take time and are patient with the regulars oldies I would recommend highly The portions are huge and keep you filled all day If you go listen for Shirleys little stir and tinkle when she stirs the best cup tea in a mug!!

Mince n dumplings. My veg and dumplings were luke warm but the all over mince was hot. The wife's were hot but mince was luke warm. How does that work? distraction during microwaving?. Clean, cheerful place. Tasty enough though.

i popped in this morning for full breakfast , waited 35 MINS !!! then mine was given to two other people before i got it ffs , no condiments on table and when i got some , the brown sauce was blocked so i had to open the main lid to get some out , time id eaten it my cup of tea was cold and my parking ticket of 1 hour only had ten mins left so all in all 45 mins in the cafe , not many will remain customers at that rate !!!

Wanted to go for breakfast someplace different from the usual North Shields options… Greggs, Costa Coffee, Burger King, etc. 😬 So I was recommended this place by my mate who says they’re breakfasts are amazing… & no word of a lie – this is definitely true! The lasses serving are really friendly as well & they do make a yummy cup of coffee. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced & totally good value for money. They also do homemade baked goods – like cheese scones. Which I will be trying next time I’m in the area & want a freshly made breakfast/brunch/lunch/afternoon tea.

Everything about this lovely little café is really great: The service is quick, warm and friendly; the food, value for money and very good; the location, central and just close enough to The Beacon shopping centre to be relaxed and calm, yet convenient and nearby; the menu, full and value for money. The take-away bacon rolls the best! Lightly toasted and tasty! A great place to drop in for good traditional English breakfast or even lunch. The staff are great fun too! East in or take-away. Exactly what a local café should be, the heart of the community, offering great food at value for money.

I understand this cafe has been taken over in the last few years and all i can say is excellent! Food all home cooked and totally delicious and the staff are very friendly. They even cater for my vegetarian needs.

Excellent great food at a very reasonable price. Not long open but glad it is now. Excellent menu to chose from and friendly staff to serve it. Children welcomed warmly. On the main thoroughfare & a great place to meet up

I ordered a bacon, sausage and egg sandwich and it was amazing. The bun was dipped which took me back to my childhood and there was plenty of filling. It was made fresh to order and the service is as quick as it can be. Prices are very good for what you get. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Visiting a friend we went for a snack the food was made to order and fresh the atmosphere was good staff very helpful

Popped in here for a quick lunch as was passing. Sausage sandwich and chips and a cheese savoury sandwich. Nice food, quick and friendly staff. Spoke away to us and our baby. Would definitely go back when along that way.

This is a nice little place to stop for a coffee, cake or lunch. My friend and I both ordered omelette and chips which took quite a while to arrive, but that's because the chips are fresh and made to order. The food was really tasty and the staff were friendly, if a little absent-minded. They completely forgot about our drinks until we reminded them, and they got the order wrong of another customer who was eating at the same time as us. When my tea did arrive, the spoon was dirty and the waitress didn't notice so no replacement was offered. On the plus side, the food was great and it's obviously popular with locals as lots of people were popping in for takeaways as well as sit-down meals.
