Great atmosphere. We had dinner in the white room. It was a lovely experience. Good service with attentive staff.

Excellent wine bar and restaurant. The event space upstairs is incredible - I hosted a birthday party there and the events team really looked after me well. Thank you to Laura and Abi for an unforgettable experience!

Although we had a reservation for late lunch, once we arrived, it was clear to us that the kitchen would be closed in 30 minutes. The tasting menu was excellent, but some of the dishes were too salty. Overall experience was great, definitely recommend.

Jesús Durón here was one of the best culinary experiences i’ve ever had. an incredible evening.

Stunning food and drinks experience at the guest chef experience of Jesús Durón last night at Carousel. Loved the concept. Food was sublime, the service / vibe on point and the drinks pairing stunning. All the dishes were amazing but the scallpos and lamb were stand out for me. The drinks pairings were awesome also. The Lost Explorer salmiana mezcal on the rocks was superb.

The atmosphere was good, a little disappointed by only three choices of wine per category for a wine bar I expected more choices. Food portions are small, hashbrowns were very very salty and greasy, but fried chicken and tuna taco were great. Overall, probably will not be back

We loved the evening and the food was delicious, the cod wing, the monkfish, the seaweed broth! Gilsli and the team were amazing, next stop a visit to Iceland.

Was really disappointed with Carousels food. I have been to many small sharing plate restaurants around London and New York and this was my least favourite. The decor and vibe of Carousel was really cool, and the service was great. The waitress even gave me tasters of various wines. However our bill was 94£ for bread, fried chicken ( 2 pieces) and scallops (3 for 24£ or something) the scallops were horrible- couldn’t even stomach one. Slimy and not a good texture in the mouth. The sage cocktail was the only good part about the meal! Sorry..

Great food let down by some elements of the service on the night but the restaurant went over and above to address the issues and I look forward to returning.

This is just a solid lovely venue. Great cocktails with interesting takes on classic, some perfect bites to go alongside. Cannot vouch for the resident dinners as haven't had but would much like to.

The Burns Night Evening was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious (if not the largest portions), and the staff were attentive and efficient. Being on a long trestle table allowed everyone to chat, and the atmosphere was great. We would all love to go back next year!

This is now one of my favourite places to eat in London. For the quality of the food (delicious) and wine (nice variety, some original and surprising options), the prices are reasonable. It’s very atmospheric has well, and it’s in a quiet and nice street away from the tourist madness but a very short walk away from it. We came for the Pairing event in NYE and then for a weekday lunch on the same week and we fell in love with the place — will definitely be back every time we’re in town.

Taking small plates to a ridiculous level. The prices are so outrageous for the amount of food you get it's almost offensive. Food overall was very average. Super disappointing

Luciano Monosilio gave us disappointing food and a glacially slow service. A waste of an evening. And a carbonara I could very nearly make myself. A sad experience.

Disgracefully awful. The portion sizes are a complete joke so after a £100 set meal we left starving. The dessert portion was particularly offensive. I actively encourage you to go somewhere else. Absolutely awful place.

This new thing of making a reservation in the “so called” fancy restaurant which is applied by Carousel has to stop! I have made a paid booking of £159 and I had a circumstance to not show up at the time of reservation. The next day, I asked them politely to reschedule my reservation (Not for a refund) anytime for the next 48 hours, but I got the answer from their GM saying we have to charge you for a new booking, for two reason: 1) because the food was cooked 2) e.g if you buy a ticket in a movie theater you can’t reschedule it Restaurants like this has to stop being so commercial, and connect/sympathize with humans. Even if the food was brilliant served with poor service, restaurants will not have customers’ respect and loyalty. I had the same incident once with Cedric Bakery, they did a brilliant job responding to my circumstances, rescheduled my booking easily. it’s about understanding customers as humans not digits.

What an experience! I have been to Carousel many times, and the last time was a first to have got into the back room where they host fabulous guest chefs from all over the world. I enjoyed an evening with Jules St-Cyr from Montreal, it was truly extraordinary. You can see the amount of work that goes into making the night a seamless flow, and it certainly felt that way as a guest. Highly recommend.

Największym atutem tego miejsca jest obsługa i niezobowiązująca atmosfera. Fajny koncept, który daje możliwość spróbowania potraw ulubionych postaci ze świata kuchni. Byliśmy na kolacji indyjskiej. Dania były smaczne, choć najbardziej oczekiwane przepiórki moim zdaniem były niedopieczone. Wszystkie dana były wcześniej przygowane i tylko delikatne podgrzane przed posiłkiem.

Beautiful wine bar in Fitzrovia to distract you from the rainy London weather. The wine selection and food were excellent. The pork skewers you could taste the charred bits, and the pineapple glaze was a nice sweet and tangy touch. The hash brown was crispy, and surprisingly the anchovy added to the dish. The hash brown came with n’duja just to spice it up slightly. The service was also amazing, we were seated at the top counter but they offered to move us to the table as it was more intimate. There were hooks on the wall and table for coats and hangers. They also provide both sparkling and still tap water. The bathrooms had individual stalls, clean and they provided hand cream. Totally recommend for any occasion!

We visited Carousel on a Saturday night and were kept waiting 45 minutes before receiving our first course. Unfortunately, I think the kitchen area for the guest chefs is simply too small which means that all the food is either cold or lukewarm at best. We had a set menu and the food portions were minuscule. I don’t expect huge portions but I don’t expect to have to eat after a meal to feel full. The guest chef area feels a bit like a canteen, lacking in atmosphere and any windows. Quite a few of the guests around us spent most of the night looking at their phones, which also dampened the mood. The price for two was £150 (paid in advance) and wine was on top. The wine list was overpriced in my opinion. The service was OK, and some servers were a little ‘too cool for school’. I felt that the whole experience was pretentious, completely overrated and overpriced. I have eaten at many, many other restaurants which are much better. I won’t be going back or recommending Carousel. Overall a big disappointment and I’d advise that you avoid this place.

I visit carousel in one of their guest chef nights. Guest chef was the awarded with Michelin star George Kataras from Greece. The food was beyond any expectations. Every course of the menu was amazing we couldn’t decide which was our favorite. The atmosphere and the music was great . The staff was very polite and professional. It was an unforgettable dinner.

Absolutely loved this place. Went for my birthday last week, we enjoyed a top meal by guest chefs from Mali LA. The drinks were amazing, great setting with a real intimate feel due to exposed kitchen and open view of the plating process, it was a real enjoyable experience. Extra special mention to our host Will who was a pleasure to be around from start to finish, a real credit to the restaurant. Highly recommend this place and we will certainly be returning soon!

Popped in for a glass (or two) of wine and a few nibbles. Great tasting small sharing plates and lovely wines by the bottle or glass. They had the winemaker from Ami pouring on the night and so got to chat about his unique burgundy wines. Friendly service, relaxed bright atmosphere. Recommend!

Excellent experience - staff, sommelier, chef were all exceptional however I walked away starving. Bigger portions and that will be the icing on the cake. X

Went for the 8 course tasting menu, excellent, chef from Borneo I believe, very unusual combinations of food, but all tasty, all served quickly with smiley waiter's, very good evening...Will definitely go back.

The food is good - some dishes are quite overpriced. £18 for a cucumber salad! We really enjoyed the heritage tomato and mackerel salad and my friends said the fried chicken was really good. Quite limited options for vegetarians on the menu that we had. Service was friendly.

Went to the wine bar for a pal's birthday dinner at the weekend. Food was superlative (particularly the crab special), wine excellent and the service charming. Have been here for the guest chef experiences before (which have always been excellent). It's good to know that the regular menu in the wine bar is just as good. Would thoroughly recommend, I am already planning my next visit.

Came here to celebrate the beginning of my anniversary with my wife. Really beautiful wine bar and the food is lovely. The real standout was our absolutely incredible service from our waitress, May. Hands down the best service I’ve ever had!!!!! She was super accommodating to seat us even without a reservation, she had amazing food suggestions and was generally just a wonderful human who really made our anniversary feel beyond special. Thanks again May!!

An amazing concept of a restaurant with rotating chefs. We booked in for Julie Lin from Glasgow with her Asian themed menu, which was right up our street. The menu was so delicious, the highlights were Lamb rendang and the spicy clamps. Beautiful. I would come back, and next time I’ll go for the wine pairing! Service was spot on as well. Thank you and we will be back!

Wanted something unusual to do for my birthday and decided on trying the guest chefs menu at Carousel . Happened to be Hugo Duran from Mexico. Lovely that the evening was introduced by the chef himself and the food mostly prepared in view of the dinners which showcased interesting and inspiring cultural techniques . The relaxed and personal service around well spaced tables included a very knowledgeable sommelier. Enjoyed every mouthful and saved on a flight to Mexico being transported with flavours of this land and it’s sea by the powerful authenticity of this chef.

A fabulous dining experience. Hugo, the Mexican chef, created a truly imaginative menu including turbot, scallops and octopus, all presented with panache. Service was impeccable - the sommelier was superb. What a great idea to have guest chefs from around the world. Carousel sets a new standard in dining excellence.

We had to ask several times if our waiter could take our order and it was then promptly forgotten about. Seated at the bar when there were several open tables available. Had to ask waiter to bring us plates and cutlery. Food was decidedly average.

We went last night for the Israeli guest chef event - food was good overall, gourmet Levantine cuisine and really loved some of the dishes! Only downside was the wine pairing - we signed up to that for an additional £55 but for a place that specialises in its wine collection, the serving sizes and time between servings was a shame. Their portion sizes weren’t wine pairings more like wine tastings and to have one wine for a couple of dishes with that portion size and no topping just isn’t worth it. Opt for the bottles instead.

Nice, cozy place. Still new so I would like to see more character, but wine cart is great - we had natural riesling. Never had natural riesling before - light, mineral, great choise for brief quick stop.

Terrible. Charged us £75 per person (£300+) because we couldn’t make the restaurant as there was a train strike. Don’t book, especially if you are just visiting London. Go somewhere else!

I love the guest chef concept and execution - you get to try some really creative cooking. I was there recently for the Ibiza's Nudo and the food (and wine paring) was fabulous. BUT i made the mistake of going alone this occasion - for that you get the single diner penalty - eating on a high chair off a shelf only just wider that a dinner plate facing a rendered cement wall with your back to the rest of the diners. Do go - but if you are dining alone find somewhere that treats you as normal diner! (5* for the all but the view of the wall)

Attended for an event, staff were engaging and attentive. They made it. Need to try for food in the future.

No AmEx - this must be a joke when the set menu is £75 (excluding service). Interesting concept with a different guest chef every week, food was good overall, but as all diners are served at the same time and dishes are put together on a big table (which only has a small stove), a lot of dishes are served lukewarm or cold. This is NOT a real kitchen table kind of experience where you can see an actual kitchen in action…

Disappointing experience. The lady managing tonight was not inviting at all. We felt chastised by her and didn't feel welcome. The food was good but the experience didn't live up to the food. Not a place I would recommend or go back to

Not often I leave a review. The welcome was cold as was the restaurant ( a lot of people had to wear coats and scafs in the restaurant). The food and wine was good but pity about the staff and how cold it was. Wouldn’t recommend it. Sorry.

Very cool concept and idea. This is what attracted my group and myself to head out to Carousel London for their New Year's Eve celebration. We were very excited, but sadly our evening wasn't as outstanding as it could be. The reason for the lower review is due to the fact that Carousel seats smaller parties with larger parties at communal tables. Unfortunately, we were seated with a group of very rude and uncouth individuals (their claim to fame though was that they are regulars). Of the nine in the group only one was pleasant and willing to hold a conversation with us. The rest of the party seemed to enjoy making comments about the way we looked, dressed and spoke. Even though our tickets included an after party, we were so uncomfortable being in the group we immediately left after dinner and celebrated New Year's Eve with some really amazing people down at a Hotel Bar. The food was on-par with other local cuisine and offered a nice seven course tasting menu. I will also admit that there was an abundance of food for a seven course menu. The most delicious being the main. It was an amazing experience being able to taste some new flavors from an up and coming chef. Overall, Carousel London is a fun, hip and modern spot to take advantage of some good food and great music. Both the chefs and waitstaff were very friendly and professional. We were just so unfortunate in being made to feel like we were unwelcome and outsiders. I only hope that others are luckier than we were with the group seating...If I wanted to be made fun of, I wouldn't have spent so much money. I hope that Carousel London will find a way to make their experience more inclusive, or find a way to keep their "regulars" separated to their own table so they can keep their drunk looks, vulgar comments, and poor manners to themselves.

Terrible Food and so Much expensive for nothing. Even the wine us terrible, how ?

Went for New Year's Eve on a pretty expensive tasting menu plus wine pairing. The concept was interesting (chef and DJ collaborating to create linked music and food) but the food was a let down. Presentation was very basic, a couple of the dishes (out of 6) weren't bad but not to the level I was expecting. The dessert was burnt and dry. Wine fell between cheap and mid level but actually paired pretty well so kudos there. The music, while nice, was too loud. It meant my partner and I had to shout and lean in to hear one another. It was busy and the staff were overwhelmed - I requested a bottle of water on two ocassions and needed to ask staff 3 times to bring it. I've had much better for much less and wish we'd gone somewhere else.

The apple pie and caramel ice cream were amazing! Absolutely worth a try!

I came here for one of the guest chef dinners and while the food was amazing and very carefully considered, I can’t seem to understand how carousel have come up with their pricing. £75 a head without wine would be acceptable IF, the dishes were individual. Out of a seven course meal, 5 dishes were to share and while the food was good, the value simply isn’t there.

I came here for a corporate event and was absolutely incredible and great service. Thank you to all the staff who were extremely friendly and accommodating to my dietary requirements during my corporate event. Drinks I had were absolutely excellent, the atmosphere was great and my colleagues spoke highly of the food. Great venue located in Fitzrovia off the busy street. Really cool concept and delicious food. Wine bar is also one of my fav spots for small plates and wine/cocktails.

First time here and came for a light birthday starter consisting of a few wines and some little bites. The pumpkin tempura was exquisite, soft on the inside and crispy on the out with hoards of flavour. There is a fantastic choice of natural wine with staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and seemed very genuine rather than a forced polite etiquette. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with an exposed brick aesthetic. Will absolutely come back in the future for a fuller meal and more drinks. Thanks so much!

One of the best experiences I’ve had in a while. Went for a chief from Argentina who made a delicious diner with a mix of flavor from all around the world. This place has a great energy and you can really connect with the chef and the staff. Loved it and will definitely come back next time I’m in London 👍 maybe a bit expensive though (we took cocktails and the wine pairing which added about 50 pounds per person) but seemed worth it as we had like 8 different courses

Our first visit did not live up to the hype. Wine selection is fine and the space is great but food took ages to come as the staff probably merged our order with someone else’s and brought at least three dishes we didn’t order. In the end we received a bill 3x of what we ordered, including items we did not order or eat. The staff was obviously annoyed with us asking to review the bill again, too…

Cracking location, ingenious concept and incredible venue! Well worth a trip to check out one of their resident chiefs, or a pop-up in Basement or an art exhibition on the First Floor.

What a lovely place carousel is. We joined for the Remi Martin sustainability dinner and it was absolutely delightful. Tommy Banks and Ivam Tisdall-Downs are both fantastic chefs and got everyone really excited about their food. Service super attentive, place has a nice vibe. Located super central. We look forward to going again.

The service at this place is absolutely shocking. Waiters have a terrible attitude and don’t really care about serving you the wrong dishes, taking 30 mins to bring out a bottle of wine (are they making the wine?!) or completely forgetting your order and being unapologetic. We sat at the wine bar and the food is average at best but it’s the service that really ruined it. Hard to imagine how they get away with it when you have fabulous restaurants across the street like Lisboeta where the service is impeccable and the food it top notch. This is one of those IG pop ups and not worth the money or time. It’s painful to have to pay the service charge

Average. Had a meal on Friday for the Mexican chef residency for four of us. Was pleasant but not great. Food and drinks were good but not good enough versus the price. Likewise for £150pp our wine was never topped up by the staff, there was no A/C (so it was very hot and stuffy), no digestifs other than port/sherry (a bit old school given the concept) and a small point but no hand cream in the restroom. At this price point these things all make a difference and probably why I would be unlikely to return

I took my son, an excellent cook himself, for a celebratory dinner at Carousel’s new space on Charlotte Street on 21 July. We had an exceptional evening evening of delicious food and drink, curated by Carousel and made by Mexico City’s famed and utterly charming chef, Emme Prieto. Every course was delicious, service was excellent and the vibe was joyous & relaxed. They’re doing wonderful work here.

Great concept and friendly staff. I could talk a lot about how great the menu was from chefs Trina & Jessica, but as the concept goes you won’t eat their menu it will be someone else’s. The fluidity and knowledge of the menu and wine pairings from the waitress who served me was fantastic and she handled the fact that my friend turned up 45mins late (🙈) really well and helped us have a lovely evening! I’ll definitely be back

Only popped in for a quick glass of wine and a snack, and on that evidence it was excellent. Well put together list of wines by the glass, extensive by the bottle options and tasty little bites to go alongside. It’s an interesting concept and I’m looking forward to further visits to try more of what’s on offer
