Carluccio's in Stratford-on-Avon

Very quiet breakfast with my husband before out journey back to Essex. The waiter was very attentive The food was very tasty I had the eggs florentine. Perfectly poached eggs and soft melt in the mouth salmon. Coffee was fresh and strong. Definitely returning next time we are in Stratford-upon-Avon

If you go to this restaurant don't make the mistake of using their WiFi. I did and have been plagued for weeks now by their emails. You click unsubscribe and nothing changes. I've written to this establishment requesting my email address be removed and the email has been ignored. They are breaking the law by not fixing this problem. Their emails are a damned nuisance.

Good food at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. No long waits.

We were looking to have some pasta. Found it at this place. We will probably go back when we are next in town.

Really good food and great service.

Poor breakfast. Grey avocado on “toast” with overdone poached eggs, for basically a tenner. They’re lucky it’s positioned where it is because theres much better breakfast options in town. Avoid.

Perfect location with beautiful view of the theatre and river Avon when sitting outside or by inside window. Staff always very efficient and polite I find. Gluten free bread available.

The food was as good as we remembered.

Web page says shuts at 9pm but oh no it doesn’t. It shuts at 8!

Perfect service! Prompt, friendly and innocuous, but most importantly were incredibly considerate of where they sat my friend who was going to be on her own for a bit because she was early and I was delayed by traffic. If you're a woman visiting Stratford/ the RSC on your own, I highly recommend. The food, however, is average. I had a pasta dish, the sauce was fine but the pasta was tough and heavy. I understand al dente, but this was hard going.

Very convenient for the theatre, super friendly staff; the food was good too and reasonably priced with decent portion sizes

Rude manager. We arrived today at 2pm for food. ‘We are not serving food anymore until 4pm’ bellowed the manager. No smiles. No apology. No alternative. Very rude. Why would you not serve food at 2pm when you know you’re going to be busy? Anyway, we had a lovely lunch further down the street.

We went in quite late (after 8pm) and ordered garlic bread, a goat's cheese pizza and a pancetta pizza which we enjoyed very much. Emma served us with an absolutely professional attitude.

Only ever been here for lunch. Atmosphere ok at lunch times. Can be busy as often used pre theatre. Service excellent bearing in mind one may be short of time. Food lovely lunch time choices.

Whatever has happend to carluccios. Breakfast cold no expresso cups. Slice of hard bread for 2 year old with jam and butter a steal at 4.95 not. Will not be returning. They did replace with pancakes just about edible. Plenty of better places to eat in stratford. It was really bad

Awful. Guy who greeted us at breakfast was just plain rude. Snapped at us saying if we didn’t have a reservation we had best leave. We did. This seemed to enrage him more😂. Decor tired. More like a canteen at work. I’ll not be back!

we eat in the restaurant frequently, it was so late, cold and no meat, the quality of the produce was dreadful, lots of chopped olives oil the rags and a severe lack of meat in both dishes. If this isn't addressed we will not be ordering again

There was a hair in my daughter’s pasta. The staff agreed to replace the dish, but not once did they apologise or offer a gesture of goodwill for the poor customer experience!

You really need to "up your game"! The food was basic to say the least. Burger and chips came with no garnish, risotto was fine but no parmesan cheese offered. Basic food but not at a basic price. Sat on a bench but the pvc is all cracked and hence dirty. Loos - no hot water in the gents. Definitely won't be heading back!

Food is good, 👍 ambience was local too so 4 stars there. However, I was hungry and had a chips from the local chip shop . After ordering the food and waiting for sometime, I was nibbling on couple of chips.This apparently made the waiter walk over the table aggressively and instruct that food was not allowed and has to be kept in bag. Obviously, I was with family so I stayed and kept the chips bag on the side as a humble student would do to a teacher instruction. Thereafter, I noticed every time the waiter was walking over , he gave a firm look to me and the table. This made me very uncomfortable and unhappy. Not polite and definitely not professional. I would never go to this restaurant ever now and would recommend anyone with coloured skin to avoid this place.

I went with my girlfriend for dinner, and we had a lovely time. Friendly service and very attentive. The food too was outstanding, it was my first time at Carluccio's, but I will be most definatly dine here again.

It was not a good detail to come and charge us so that we could leave earlier because they wanted to make room for dinners and on top of that the place was almost empty.

We had a really, really good meal here before seeing the RSC. From the pre-meal cocktails, through starters, mains and dessert everything was served quickly and was delicious. I will definitely come again.

Absolutely terrible. Our main courses took over an hour despite chasing twice and being there before it was busy. We ended up leaving and were met with no apology, just a shrug with no explanation. Still had to pay for our drinks and starters. Terrible service, kids were really upset. Staff didn't care in the slightest

Had a really nice meal and great service. I was a little disappointed with the coffee. I had a cappuccino and it had that burnt, bitter taste.

We had an incredible lunch here, the food was delicious and the service provided by Ciprian was outstanding. We will definitely return and look forward to our next visit to this gem of an Italian on the banks of the river. Our favourite dish out of what was all very good, we doubted Lee the two steaks we ordered as a main course. Delicious, tasty and succulent, Argentinian ribeye and sirloin. The accompanying potatoes were mouthwatering.

The food came lukewarm/cold the same way it would if you microwaved leftovers at a low setting. The seafood linguine definitely tasted microwaved and the butter that came with the steak was still frozen. We did ask for slightly more melted butter but the one they brought back was barely better than the one they had first served us. The lasagna was more vegetable than meat. All you can hear throughout the meal is the crashing and clanging of bottles as they are being sorted and thrown away at the bar.

Lovely atmosphere, polite helpful staff. Daughter said its the best lasagne she'd ever tasted.

We ate here before heading to the theatre. The food was excellent and well presented. The service was excellent and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. This restaurant is ideal for either a pre or post theatre visit .

Amazing service, food and brilliant staff

Tasty, authentic Italian dishes in a modern setting. I had a bright and interesting seafood pasta, which had plenty of lovely fresh prawns and mussels and squid. The service was attentive and unobtrusive.

Super breakfast, good value at £14.95 for Magnifico with fresh OJ and hot drink. Service from Valentina was 10/10.

Had dinner here prior to going to the theatre. Glad we booked as busy . Service was efficient meant we had time to share a desert which we were pleased about as when portions of tiramassu passed our table earlier in the evening looked yummy and it was . Also enjoyed an expresso kept me awake well during the performance and on the drive home 😂 Not cheap but worth it for the occasional treat.

Love the location. I dated my wife here, and so is a special place. So glad it survived the pandemic. Had our 2nd anniversary meal here. I am sure the food is excellent as I haven't eaten here for over a year. I can't comment on it, but the coffee is great.

Smallest tuna steak I have ever been served, and for £22! I even had to order some potatoes as the plate was so megre. How the chef thought it was ok to serve I have no idea, but I suppose that's what you get with a chain. Couldn't really say anything as I had guests but that's the first time in years that I've left a restaurant feeling hungry. Not good.

Well where to start. Went for breakfast. Big mistake going to an Italian restaurant, I should have gone to an English cafe. Bacon only panchetta fine if you like greasy fatty steeky bacon,no other option! Multitude of eggs every way you want. I chose poached, unfortunately not runny. Sausage over done. My wife wanted mushrooms on toast, the waitress said no, you have to have an egg as well, but we didn't want an egg! So changed the order for toast and jam with a side of mushrooms. (Rediculous) The toast, well,round pieces of bread 3cm diameter over done not hot with cold butter. Needless to say we are not recommending this place for breakfast. I suggest they stick to olive oil toasted bread with tomato and olives.

Very, very chewy carbonara. Should have complained upon reflection, but we didn't have time as we had tickets for the theatre. Would certainly think twice about going there again .....

I came to carluccios with my daughter for Dinner. Really enjoyed our food and we had friendly service by Tom.

Had lunch here with a few friends and we were really impressed with the food and the service. A nice atmosphere without being pretentious. My seafood linguine was one of the best I've ever had anywhere. Highly recommended.

The chicken on my dish was nearly cold. It was charged, but it seemed to be an inconvenience. And we had to ask for the parmasan.

Absolutely disgusting service. We arrived 8 minutes late and were rudely told that we were late, that set the mood for the evening, well I couldn’t call it an evening as we were abruptly told last orders at 8 and we had to be out by 9. We ordered our food and the only positive thing I can say is the food was good, however I must say the taste was ruined by the hostile atmosphere that was created from the waitress. We felt we were being watched and intruding, which made the whole experience, a 21st birthday, unpleasant. We left feeling deflated, unwanted and upset at the whole experience.

We had lunch outside in the shade. Good food and service was excellent considering it was very busy.

A nice place to have some Italian food. Enjoyed their new seafood risotto. Nice coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast selection. My eggs were a bit bland from the breakfast.

Food was fairly decent. Not amazing Italian. Good but not great. Decor was a little tired it could do with an update. Asked for a jug of water but they just kept topping up tiny child size glasses for everyone. Just leave a jug like every other restaurant

Average food & expensive. Seafood linguine but got fat spaghetti - chewy squid, tough prawns & mussels that smelt like wet dog & the sauce that surrounded it was barely palatable! The table next to us sent back almost full bowls of pasta & were very unhappy with the food. This is an early Friday evening so not rushed off their feet. Not good enough for a chain that has bought Carluccio's. I won't be eating there again & I won't be recommending them. The only thing going for them is the 'Name' & that it is situated near the waterfront & RSC.

The food is OK but too expensive and I found the adult portions were too small .though the child ones were adequate. The staff are good at thair jobs and friendly.

We often go breakfast , never disappointed, the magnifico option is good value as it includes juices and beverages, we will be going back next time we are in Stratford on Avon, on sunny days there is the option of sitting outside

Visited Sunday Morning, short staffed it appeared, only milk choice full fat, meals arrived at various times, waited for sauces and additional cups of coffee.

Great service, delicious lattes & gluten-free cake. Beautiful outlook onto the river and our dog was very comfortable in a nice , calm outdoor space.

Lovely waitress, but.... overcooked bread with the starter (how do you do that ?) Overcooked chicken and plastic flowers on the table to finish off the 'Italian' experience 🤣. Let down by not having a real chef, I suspect. Carluccio's can be great, but this one currently isn't. If only it was like the photo

AVOID. Dropped in for an anniversary meal, ordering and food took forever. Poor Service, bland tasteless food, unfriendly management staff so clearly operating without enough staff and an inability to acknowledge it. Just gave up trying to get a desert or the bill and went in to ask for it to be told by the manager that its table service i.e. we should wait. She obviously didn't get it that we had had poor service, especially as she just walked off. I note from the reviews they always say (Dawn) that they will try to acknowledge or sort their failings but obviously they dont. And to the rude manager when your customers are such an inconvenience to you its time to try another job. I have eaten at a lot of Carluccio's and this was the worst and wont be going there again.

When they say butter sauce they mean dripping in congealed butter and because it comes in a packet, rubbery ravioli is not nice,you can't have it without the sauce! Really wishing I had sent it back 🤢🤮 I had to have a side plate to scrape the "sauce" off but couldn't get rid of the taste. Who on earth would think that is appealing!

Gone downhill lately. Food very expensive. Breakfasts of toast and poached eggs x 3 and Pancakes plus 2 coffees total £56!!!! When we looked at the bill they gave us 30p discount!!!’

Food served with a smile and Italian flair. A luxury breakfast with all the extras to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It's right by the water and the RSC so the location is fabulous. I can highly recommend Carluccios for a casual coffee or a special occasion.

Staff were lovely but we got an overpriced tuna salad which was barely edible. Felt very ripped off.

After we had placed the order, the order window changed and moved later. When you order because the time window given suits your schedule, it is extremely annoying when - after you have paid & committed - that window is just moved with no explanation. There should be some penalty for restaurants who do not stick to their advertised delivery windows - because otherwise they are getting people to order under false pretences.

Relatively quiet day, yet it took quite a while to get attention for service. Food was fresh and very tasty, worth the wait.

Really lovely meal and lovely staff but the restaurant is in serious need of a pain job! The walls are full of food stains and the place is generally quite dirty. The bench seat was covered in dust. Such a shame as the staff agreed it needed cleaning x

Glass served my wife and I was dirty. I asked could it be replaced and they brought another dirty glass. It would seem they don't rinse things properly after taking them out the dishwasher. As a result I did not tip. Food was OK but nothing special.

A 630pm booking, slow to be asked for drinks, albeit the lady who served us was polite. There were several items of the menu, with some desserts already done for the day, at 730pm. I thought the food was OK, bit to be honest, I think you'll get better value at a private restaurant.

Arrived in a party of 3, I'm gluten free was offered separate menu all good so far. My colleagues were given a set menu offer - same dishes as on gf menu when I questioned was told no we can't let you have set menu price ! Then was told no gf pasta or pizza available I could have a salad - needless to say we left without eating
