By far the best fish Iv had in a long time, lovely crispy batter

The food was nice but arrived cold except for the peas which were warmish. The special fish was the same size as the standard fish couldn’t tell the difference? If the above would have been ok I would recommend them as it was very tasty.

wasted my money on this. Worst fish I've ever had. I ordered plaice, the batter was mushy and the fish tasted fishy and watery (not a normal fish taste, it had a gone off fishy taste). I really couldn't eat it without actually starting to feel nauseated so had to throw it. Although the fish wasn't edible the chips and battered sausage was nice and all food arrived hot. It hasn't put me off ordering from here again as it has been nice in the past, I just definitly won't be ordering plaice again

Worst fish and chips, bad tasting chips, fish batter very hard, still have a bad taste in mouth 6 hours later.... They used to be good but gone downhill. Will not use again.

The sandwich had not been prepared properly and to say the filling was missing would be accurate as there was hardly any tuna on the sandwich and a quarter completely bare, raised this as an issue immediately and Just Ear failed to support my case and provided no refund… very disappointing and not a great experience from either Subway or Just Eat 😡

Ordered through Uber Eats. This is the 2nd delivery we have had. The fish and chips are delicious. Proper chippy chips. The fish was really tasty. Loved the batter and loads of fish. The curry sauce and mushypeas excellent. Food was still hot. Highly recommend ***** 😃

we've got no problems with the Chippy whatsoever they are wonderful.. However, we have had problems with the delivery drivers. 3 times now they've been late, rude or didn't show at all. one said he'd taken it back to the chippy but when I called them they said he hadnt. still waiting for my refund for that..

Very disappointed cold and late

Fish and mushy peas were OK (warm). The chips were cold and tasted as if they had been fried in old fat.

The driver left the restaurant and took 25 minutes to do a 5 minute journey? My food was flat cold!!!

Where to start firstly just eat drivers never came for the order so when eventually turned up and delivered food was barely warm chips just all off cuts with sharp edges curry sauce v spicy and fish stunk oh and no scraps when asked on order. Terrible food terrible service by just eat.

Called in when in the area for the day. Great prices, good food and very generous portions! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back next time we're there.

Batter is so light and the fish is pure white freshly cooked with scraps salt & vinegar just what was needed on a cold winters day. One of the best in Castleford would definitely recommend. Staff very friendly and covid aware without going over the top.

Good quality food, can be a que at times, ordering online doesn't seem to work for me but might be an issue with my electronics etc? Parking good and straight outside and open long hours. Recently new management I think and the quality of food remains good. Think it has a restaurant pary too but don't think it's been open during lockdown, unsure to when it might reopen? Take out service good and pricing is ok. Could do with an outside revamp but you tend to go for the food not the decor! Recommended

I have been ordering from here for years now, and this evening we received not only missing items from our order but atrocious customer service. When I discovered that I had missing items from my order, I rang, and was instantly confronted with a very defensive woman, who gave me no apology, and said that if I wanted to replace my missing item, I had to collect it myself. This (after my drive there and back) then meant that the remainder of my order was stone cold. I did not enjoy my food, and had a bad taste in my mouth from the way that I had to fix a problem with my food, that I didn't even create. Carlton Chippy, you should think about the staff you hire and the impression they give to your loyal customers. Will not be recommending them from now on.
