Best Caribbean food I've ever tasted.

I had never tried jerk chicken and walked past the smell of the smokey chicken hit me and i had to go in and try. And it didnt dissapoint. I rarely leave reviews but i feel like i need to as this is the best food i have ever eaten. The flavour of the chicken is 10/10 and cooked to perfection and so too is the dumplings. I didnt get the name of the man and woman working there but they too was very friendly and nice to talk to. Please if you local give them a try you wont be disappointed. I cant wait to go back there and try the curry goat!!!!

Well I always give a honest opinion cauz my Mom & Dad can cook so dnt really av to eat on road but sometimes u feel like something abit diff to home & I went to this shop after it flashed up local online & tbh if I'm gona eat out anywhere in Birmingham from now it's gona be here,I had curry goat with white rice & steam veg & oxtail with fries wow definitely levels was up top 5 not meaning num 5 actually mean num 1 spot recommended to eat out in b'ham,other people cutting back with seasoning but this place I'm telling u the flavour is 100% correct, defo seeing me again.

Amazing food, really good value for money - big portions + big flavours. We had the jerk chicken and ackee saltfish. The homemade ginger beer was 🔥 🔥 🔥 it tasted so fresh and was perfect with the meal. Lovely friendly staff and great music, can't wait to come back!

Wonderful wholesome Jamaican food! We ordered a variety of things off the menu to sample as much as we could. Every dish came out hot and fresh, full of flavour perfectly spiced. The staff are super friendly take real pride in the food they produce. We wanted to try the curried goat but they had ran out when we ordered. At the end of the meal they brought us a little sample of the curried goat as the chef had done a fresh batch. Great fresh tasty food at very reasonable prices. If you like Caribbean food it’s a must try.

We ordered Oxtail and Jerk Chicken, it tasted delicious and home cooked. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The food was absolutely gorgeous! We had a delivery and the portions were very generous and came nicely packaged and hot. The taste of all the food was amazing. We had a nice helping of Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, Dumpling, mac and Cheese and fries and every item was delicious. We will definitely be ordering/ returning again as there are many other things on the menu we want to try. Highly recommend!

Not the greatest experience. Forced to eat a larger meal and made to pay extra to eat in. Food was alright. Staff attitude was a mixed bag. Not the worst Jamaican place I've been.

I've been to many Jamaican takeouts and this was alright nothing special . It was also the most expensive . I ordered the sky juice and wasn't even given the option to order a small or large. The guy just automatically put it through the ringer as £6.50 when the small sky juice was £4 Did the Sky juice taste good for £6.50 ? no it did not . I've paid less in Witton for homemade sky juice which tasted x10 better. The meal had been priced at £10 which is fair enough but the portion sizes don't make any sense at all. It wasn't worth the £10 . The rice tasted like it had been microwaved the protein was decent. The only takeaway lesson is stick to your usual joint

What a Fantastic Meal Experience. Proper Home cooked food fresh to the table (also does take aways) This Is the best Carribean Food I've ever had the staff are great and welcoming even gave us tasters to see if we liked dishes you've never eaten before.. Definitely be back.. Also nice subtle backgroun7d reggae music to create a nice ambience.. 5 Stars...PLUS Also they informed me that there will be a garden with firepit and Janaucan Barbecue to come soon when the nice weather comes.. Alcohol is also served here plus other authentic Jamaican Drinks

Food here is awesome! I had the jerk chicken which consisted of a generous portion of smoky spicy chicken thighs with rice and beans and sauce. My husband had the oxtail again a rich dark gelatinous sauce with rice and peas. The owners were so friendly and welcoming and though the eat in was quiet they did a brisk trade in take aways. I wish this place well they deserve it and to top it off the rum punch was delicious too. With the carribean music playing it was the little holiday I needed on a cold Wednesday in March. Cannot wait to return to try curry goaat!

Really good food and a great service!

I was really looking forward to some good food and boy did Munsa Musa deliver. The food was completely authentic scrumptiously tasty and perfectly served by the gracious Jarnai! Sorry if Ive spelt the name incorrectly!!! The meal was definitely 'big plate' belly full. The food is more than competitively priced. I loved the whole experience. The drinks are realistically priced. Aunt Rosa's rum punch hardly touched the sides! I look forward to going again soon. The snapper fish is to die for. Nyum!!

Absolutely gorgeous authentic Jamaican food to dine in or take out. I'm considered a Caribbean food expert after a long marriage to one of the Windrush generation ;and author of "See you later darlin" and it's sequel" Later darlin " I can highly recommend this friendly and spotlessly clean restaurant.Try the curry goat, delish and gorgeous saltfish cakes....

Excellent authentic Jamaican food, friendly welcoming service and a warm atmosphere. Good reasonable prices, food so tasty, succulent chicken, hake cooked to perfection, rich sauce, seasoned to perfection. They were kind enough to provide me with a taster of a few dishes prior to ordering, I was so impressed I ordered more than I intended but it was so worth it. I will be returning and recommending to everyone I know.

First time I’ve been to there after I was given a leaflet and I can tell u I was not disappointed at all the goat curry was fantastic and I’m not a rice guy but they had some fantastic rice to go with it would definitely recommend.

Loved the food, most restaurants and fast food don't compare. Good service. Ginger beer was great too. Definitely recommend! Plan on going here regularly.

Absolutely sublime! Great service and even by the chef piping her head out and saying hello. The Oxtail was like butter in my mouth so succulent, even the rice and peas had so much flavour! And a BIG pot of guinness punch 🤩 not one fault! Definitely be coming here more often. Felt very welcome

We had the jerk chicken with rice and peas, sexy juice, homemade ginger beer, coleslaw, pickled onions, peppers, and plantains as sides. The food was amazing! I'm not exaggerating when I say that not only is this the best Jamaican food I’ve had since moving to the UK, but it's also the best food I’ve had in any of the dozens of restaurants I've tried here. This place is seriously underrated. If you’re an islander like me, go – you won’t regret it!

We had a stew chicken dinner, jerk chicken dinner, fried chicken dinner and oxtail! The food was one of the best I’ve tasted! The Guinness punch and sky juice was amazing! Will definitely return.

Picked up takeaway later in the night. Really lovely place and the portion sizes were amazing for one person. Will come back and eat in the restaurant but I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting some good food. Also the man in the shop was lovely- couldn’t be nicer to me!

If I could give a 0 I would! Ordered Large oxtail to take away when o got home and opened it looked like someone had eaten half if not most of it already! There was one full bit and half. I’m not sure what you would get if you asked for medium as there was no way of giving less than I already had. 100% will not be returning and I will be telling all not to shop here.

Terrible quality, usually go to Blue Marlin or Rooster House for exceptional Caribbean food, don’t make the mistake of going here. Happy to provide bog standard food, the chewiest dumplings, left there for god knows how long, hardly warm, tiniest portions and supposed to be size medium? The bag felt like there was nothing in it.. minimal meat, and not joking when I say 3 pieces of tiny sweetcorn and a sprinkle of cabbage for the steamed veg. Called up to be told would have to pay 1.50 extra to have more steamed veg? And cans cost 2.20.. not to mention £3 service charge per person to eat in .. glad I didn’t make the mistake of doing that but I knew as soon as I got there with the young lad behind the counter that it wouldn’t be as quality as made out. If you are dishing out authentic recipes from 1440 then at least make it live up to its name. Pretty much didn’t even touch it after being out off that it was more like a meal made for the sake of it to earn a quick pound rather than a warm homely meal how it should be served. £22.50 later and I am now on the way to Blue Marlin.

Bought 2 large meals 29/06. 1 Curry Goat and 1 Chicken Brown stew. All served with Rice and Peas. Got to admit it, absolutely FANTASTIC. Nothing went in the bin only the bones. Will be going back, just needs more people to find this place. 10/10

Rude. Food comes via the woman’s toddlers, slapped down. Peas and rice are microwave-shrivelled. No wonder no argument about remove the 15% service charge presented as part of the bill. Decent seasoning. Sour experience.

Awful food. The jerk chicken was barely cooked and was quite tough. It didn't even come with the rice and peas as it was supposed too. Its not a question of a refund. If a customer is paying a reasonable price for food it should be prepared properly.

I visited this restaurant today and it was amazing. The restaurant is extremely clean and the staff are welcoming, pleasant and understanding. The food is halal which is amazing also. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and mac and cheese and it was delicious. Everything was extremely fresh and of good quality. This place is definitely worth a visit, the best authentic Caribbean food.

Booked to go here for my moms 50th birthday, paid £20 deposit, got there and the shop wasn’t open. Asked for them to send me the £20 deposit back got told Wednesday morning still no sign of the money Thursday afternoon, very ignorant terrible

Beautiful cosy Carribean Restaurant in the heart of Kings Heath. Literally just to the left of the entrance to Asda car park, on Popular Road. Staff are friendly and attentive. I have been on 2 occasions and both meals have been delicious. Compared to other restaurants in this genre, the cooking is a lighter version of Caribbean classics in the sense that the meals were distinctively cooked in lighter oils, therefore not leaving you with that heavy feeling of over indulgence. Try for yourself and you will know what I mean. I had curry mutton and rice.which was delicious. With a lovely carrebean fruit punch. This is lovely place for a casual meal, breakfast, lunch, or dinner - with friends, or alone. As it is that cosy, you will feel at home. Enjoy!!

Great restaurant! Placed an order via deliveroo and needed to call the restaurant for some assistance. The staff were incredibly helpful and made the order really easy to place. Once the food arrived it was amazing! The vegan platter was incredibly tasty, well flavoured, arrived hot, and was a generous size. The brownie was delicious and wasn't overly sweet. Really happy we took a chance and tried this place as it was so worth it, will definitely be ordering again!

We popped in here after seeing it on our way to Asda to get stuff for tea .... Never one to wait to try somewhere we haven't seen before in we went. Declan behind the counter said it was a new business , 7 weeks old as I write this and he was very friendly and welcoming. The menu covered all the staples of Caribbean cooking and bit being able to choose a starter we had all three. Prawns, with a batter so light it melted, chicken so sweet and spicy your tongue danced and all with seasoned sliced potatoes. Jerk chicken main for me, Lamb for my other half, with rice and peas, dumplings and coleslaw with a side of mac n cheese. Each one to die for and amazing. Oreo brownie and ice cream to finish with a superbly light taste and texture. Highly, highly recommended.

My friend, her daughter & I travelled up from London for the weekend & Noir was recommended to us a nice carribean restaurant. It actually exceeded my expectations! A lovely family run restaurant with delicious food. We had the chicken wings & prawns to start, and both were absolutely delicious! The jerk chicken rice & peas for mains were cooked to perfection! & the rum punch is fabulous👌🏽 & you definitely get value for money at Noir. The couple who own the establishment are so lovely & friendly, they really welcomed us & made it a great dining experience. I would definitely return to Noir on my next visit to Birmingham.

Few weeks ago we went to the Vegan Taster Sunday and the Service and Food was Fantastic. We decided to go and Collect a Meal this weekend. We had the Vegan Platter and Rum Punch. Fast Service from the time we ordered food Packaged well and Travelled Well Also. Amazing Flavours couldn't if asked for more from a platter. Delicious Food Fantastic Service.

Really tasty vegan food at Noir. Had the vegan platter (curry chicken, stew chicken, BBQ wings, rice and peas) and vegan stew chicken with dumpling and coleslaw. Staff also really friendly. Shall definitely be going back!
