An authentic small Italian, with a lovely classic Italian menu. A great stop before an event, just next to Waterloo. Also, very reasonably priced

Keep passing this restaurant whenever we are in London so popped in no booking. Starters & mains for all...too full for desserts. Food was great as was wine ( I had house red). We were very impressed. Staff were friendly & came with a sense of humour. Would recommend 👌

As we were staying close by and we love Italian food we tried this restaurant. Absolutely no complaints. Good Italian fare ,wide choice good service, we will eat here again when we return to London.

Avoid this restaurant by Waterloo station. We were placed at the back of the restaurant next to the toilet door. The unisex toilet opens directly into the restaurant beside the diners. The waiter was rude and abrupt especially to my wife. Perhaps he thought he was being humorous. He wasn't. The pasta was overcooked and watery, the veal was as flat as cardboard and overcooked, the vegeatables were undercooked. When the waiter asked about the food we politely complained the reply was 'No one ever complained before'. I'm sure that statement is not true. I aksed him to explain why he asked if he was going to disagree with the answer. He never came back. We should have left without paying for the food it was so bad but we did the English thing, we paid and left, never to return.

Food was ok, nothing amazing but the attitude of the men who served/owned the place was appalling. They were rude and it made me wonder if they were racist. I will most definitely NOT be going back. AVOID.

Having stayed just round the corner from this restaurant many times I can’t believe I’ve never been before now. The welcome and service is excellent. The food is proper Italian and reasonably priced.

My wife and I ate at Caprini's yesterday, Saturday lunch time. We were welcomed at the door and every assistance was given navigating my wife's wheelchair into position at the table. We were given guidance whilst ordering our food. We really enjoyed all dishes. My wife said the crab ravioli was particularly delicious. I enjoyed my liver in butter and rosemary. The stand out dish for me was the tiramisu. It was probably the best I've tasted (and I have had a few). Service was cheerful, friendly and efficient. Another thing which impressed us was when another table of 6 people asked if they could go upstairs because their son had autism and the background noise was a little upsetting it was granted. This was despite upstairs being closed. The restaurant was not noisy it was just the convivial chatter of people enjoying their food and the company. We had not been before but will certainly be back soon and may well become regulars.

Our fourth visit to this restaurant for a friendly 6-monthly catch up. We arrived at 11:50 on a very rainy Saturday. Despite the restaurant door being open, we were greeted with 'We're not open yet!' by a gentleman having lunch. We offered to leave and return later. However, we were directed to sit at a table and chat before service began 10 minutes later. The food, as ever, did not disappoint. My steamed mussels in a delicious and very moreish broth. I could have eaten that as a soup! Not a 'dead' mussel amongst the very copious serving, cooked perfectly. They could have been a main course! My calves liver in basil and butter was a little overdone to my 'pink' liking but no less delicious and sizeable in serving. My two colleagues' veal vengelaise and poached salmon were equally delicious by all accounts. Caprini is a quaint venue, 3 minutes' walk from London Waterloo Station, a very convenient meeting hub for all three of us. Good, basic and never disappointing Italian food, modestly priced, in a very cosy setting. We'll be back before Christmas for another 'Friends Revisited' catch up at what has become a favourite restaurant. Definitely worth a visit, despite some reports of 'rude staff', which we have yet to encounter!

This certainly lives up to its RUDE reputation. Unfortunately we were 10 minutes late for our reservation as had problems finding the place. Was ignored untll finally a miserable waiter told us they had given our table away as we weren't there on time. We explained why but was clearly not interested and told us we would have to wait for a table to become free. Instead we took our £120 to the superb and lovely La Barca just across the road. Appalling horrible place.

We were greeted by a pretentious man who ended up being our waiter. We ordered appetizers, entrées and dessert and yet he seems offended that we only drank water. The food was good, but not great… and definitely not the best Italian food we’ve ever had. Every time our waiter came to our table he was condescending, but he didn’t cross the line to RUDE until his staff made a mistake about our to-go desserts - - when he actually ROLLED HIS EYES! This food was not inexpensive, and definitely wasn’t good enough to be treated so badly. We were not impressed.

This is a reasonably priced large-portion restaurant where you get value for money. Service is great, and you can have a quick or leisurely meal. If you want quiet, ask to sit upstairs. The food is great, classic Italian, and an entire family of four brothers runs the restaurant. They also have daily specials that may include roast duck, rack of lamb, fresh seafood, wild boar, and interesting appetizers such as fresh figs stuffed with goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto and baked. Pizzas are large personal size, with a thin crust. Fernando may be in the kitchen and Joseph out front. Ricardo is a great waiter as well. I have eaten here more than 50+ times in the last five years, and really enjoy the camaraderie, the food, the drinks, and the desserts. If you ask nicely, they may make you a traditional zabaglione served in a large wine glass. Tell them Mr. Dennis sent you! Buono appetito!

A bad, racist restaurant. I came to eat with my family, and when he found that I was a Muslim girl, he kicked me out of the restaurant with disrespect. When I asked him if he had halal food, he yelled at me in front of the rest of the customers to go to the next restaurant because they are Italians and not Muslims. The ignorant does not know that halal food is not necessarily provided by Muslims, but what do I expect from a racist fool

My friends risotto was ok. My calzone was cold , I sent it back, a fresh and warmer one arrived. Rather bland , not very tasty. Place is a bit shabby and dated. Over priced. £17 for a calzone is a lot, I think ! Looks ghastly from outside. I couldn’t be bothered to find anywhere else. I wouldn’t go there again. Alright but you’d find better.

Went here on our first trip to London. This place is a small family business. Small and intimate, but very lively with a nice friendly vibe. The food was excellent. I had pasta e fagioli, linguine alle vongole, and lemon sorbet. My wife had scallops with a side of pasta and a house salad. The service was good, especially considering the place was packed. The prices are reasonable and the people are all very nice. Highly recommended!
