Capones in Bradford

Capones was once the best pizza shop in Bradford...ive just read the reviews and have learnt that the original owner sold out ,that figures as i have just ordered a calzone kiev with fries ...the calzone was luke warm at best and tasteless and the fries were disgusting ..this is not the Capones i remember..avoid at all costs people..just another shite takeaway like the majority now in Bradford..

Absolutely horrendous since the original guy who had been there for nigh on 30 years sold it to these lot. The food is poor either burnt or undercooked poor ingredients poor customer service poor shouldn't even be called capones absolutely not at all iys unfortunately now a run of mill typical bradford poor food just a below average standard takeaway do yourself a favour avoid at all costs

Don't like pizza usually but just had a taste of my friends from here and I have been converted absolutely gorgeous! Il be opting for pizza from here next time

Genuinely the worst pizza I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating. The bottom is hard and the middle is goey from the overload of toppings, making the it not being cooked evenly. The onion and peppers still tasted raw. Never again. The guys were sound but the food was abysmal

So ordered food from capons on moore ave order sent wrong … nearly 2 and a half hours later Iv to ring back and apparently as theMANAGER SAID ITS FULLY THERE FAULT I then refused food at this time and asked for them to send a refund to be told they would not even take the time to deliver it back to me FANTASTIC COSTUMER SERVICE!!! As the manager was rude and was not bothered about my costume and carried on to to say to me OH MY GOD 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ disgusting behaviour Capones pizza shop Moore ave wibsey

Ordered a bbq chicken pizza was sloppy and not cooked right Not sure what sauce but too sweet for bbq very disappointed will not be ordering again

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Ordered a supposed meat feast pizza it was ham, pepperoni and mushrooms lots of mushrooms (not a meat feast). The ham was green, the pizza was soggy it was diabolical! I wouldn’t have even paid 10p for it let alone £10. Left a horrible taste in mouth also and I only tried the tiniest slice to see if it was really as bad as it looked and now I can’t get the taste out of my mouth 🤢 If a meat feast pizza wasn’t on the menu this also should have been explained to me before I ordered. Not just a random pizza given to me. However it still doesn’t excuse the fact no matter what it was it was inedible.

Had a calzone kiev tonight and it was spot on....chips were a bit soggy on arrival but 5 mins in airfryer soon sorted that...plenty of garlic butter... Best one I've had since changing hands....

I've used capones for years the calzone Kiev is shocking now barely any chicken in there and under cooked. Gave them another go with pizza cheap nasty ingredients. Game over never again YOU reap WOT YOU sew

Walked in the empty shop, no customers in 3 members of staff. One member of staff making pizza base whilst having a discussion with the other 2 members of staff, one who was subsequently flicking and tying up her hair whilst food prep was happening. Absolutely vile and disgusting…would not recommend even buying a drink….food hygiene, what a joke 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Just had a delivery from Capones what a waste of money. Both pizza’s were cold to the point we put them under the grill for 10 mins, partners calzone was cold still and the large amount of onions and peppers on my “chef”s special” we’re still under cooked, no ham on it, chicken mush, spicy beef was actually greasy keema, had fresh chillies on just 2 slices. Chips were barely warm. Poor quality ingredients, poorly prepared. NEVER GOING BACK

Don’t order the bbq wings- they were disgusting and the calzone was undercooked but burned bottom and filled with mushy cheap meat- never returning

have a gourmet picture of a burger on your website and serve a tired depressed sorry looking and very ordinary tasting sandwich. Complete catfish.

Good quality pizzas . We have been getting pizza from here for over 20 years. Garlic bread with cheese it amazing, and the bbq chicken pizza is the best. Staff are friendly, and they still have the same person making the pizzas since it changed hands, which is good. Prices have gone up a little, but as long as they keep the great taste then it's worth it.10/10

Just had my food delivered and Pizzas fine but fries again, even after leaving a note to do the fries well done in block capitals the fries have come inedible. I have had to cook them for 10 minutes in the air fryer. Every time I order the even when I phone to remind them about the soggy undercooked fries they still send inedible food. Totally unacceptable.

Had capones highly recommended to by a friend. Can genuinely say I've never had such a poor takeaway in my life... I ordered the Kiev Calzone which should taste reasonably strong of garlic! Fair to say it was bland, all you could taste was the bread. Contents of the calzone was of very poor quality rubbery chicken and wafer thin slices of cheap ham! Frozen onion rings which were delivered sweaty, overall a poor experience could be a one off bad day but more than likely not.

just recently our order !! What a waste of money .. the chips were soggy and cold , the garlic bread had no garlic in sight .just covered in tomatoe sauce and cheese it was also flat cold , we ordered a calzone Kiev that was just filled with mush (fake meats) soggy drilling in garlic butter the dough was not cooked .also flat cold .. I will never be returning, we literally had a bite of every thing a left it . Disgusting

I was hoping for a tasty pizza, the likes of that which I had as a child from capones. It was better than I had even hoped. Plentiful toppings on a crispy pizza base. Delicious!

Without a doubt the worst pizza I have ever had the base wasn't even anywhere near cooked and the toppings were very close to being burnt

the staff at the takeaway are the most politest people ive met and the food was cooked to perfection deffo recommend the pizzas the base on them was 👌 recommend this place honestly

Have just started using theses am very picky when it comes to lasagna n bolognaise sauce due to my mother in law been Italian but I must say tried the lasagna the bolagnaise burger and the chin dripper pizza all I can say is am 100% capones now xx

Nice people, pretty quick delivery service. The pizzas are amazing, it's almost like being in Italy! But avoid the ribs, they are so bad they are inedible, and the burgers aren't much better, tasting like something from the cheapest section of a freezer shop. I think they need to take a good look at their menu, and maybe even try eating the food themselves, then get rid of every item that they realise is simply not good enough. But I will definitely continue to get pizzas from there as I reckon they're the best pizzas in the Bradford area!

Pro - hefty sharing size pizza could feed 3-4 Con - 30 mins late and barely warm on delivery. Napoletana didn't need quite so much topping, capers and anchovies are strong flavoured, a good chef knows less is more with strong flavours

I drive 45mins from Wakey for their pizza, its genuinely so good. Loads of fresh toppings and the base is phenomenal

friendly staff, good customer service and lovely food. i ordered a calzone kiev and it was the best i’ve ever had. The chefs king size talks for itself. Overall 10/10 experience, will be ordering again. Cheers

We have just purchased pizzas from this restaurant on the 30th of August 2022. Sadly we were let down. before this changed hands it used to be the finest pizza place in Bradford, now it is very close to being the worst. To start with I ordered the preetzer there was a lot of cheese on it vut the rest of the toppings there was very little of them what they was didn’t seem fully cooked apart from the pepperoni. Also they have gone up in price quite a lot and are definitely not worth the money that they are charging for them. I also found the staff on the telephone pretty rude and didn’t seem to want to take time in getting everything correct they were very rushed indeed. Also to have to wait 45 minutes for pizzas to be delivered to you it’s disgusting it shouldn’t take that long at all. All in all very disappointed indeed. Come back original owners you knew how to make the best pizzas going.

Burgers aren’t that great from my experience but the pizzas are so good.

It's a shadow of what it used to be. Bought the famous calzone Kiev and was tasteless, couldn't taste any garlic at all. Ham is also cheap supermarket ham. It's just turned into another ordinary bradford takeaway.

Sad to say but not as good as it used to be.

It’s been a while and was not disappointed, still quality pizza’s since I first bought one back in 1989.

Not sure if they were very busy. Ordered online, advised to be delivered in 45 mins. Still no delivery after an hour, called them, got told ‘oh it will be another 10 mins’ no apology for the delay. Then didn’t arrive until another 20 mins and food was cold. Think it had gone on a trip round the village first. Very disappointed as food isn’t cheap and they charge extra £2 for delivery.

Havent been for many years. Not sure if I picked the wrong pizza but it wasn't anything special. A few onions sprinkled in the middle, mainly cheese and not much of the main ingredients. A bit tasteless . Was disappointed.

Ordered a pizza alfughi deep pan we picked it up ourselves as we live 2 mins away Tge base wasn't cooked was like dough and some of the toppings were stone cold yet we collected it Not the capones ot use to be

I ordered five Calzone Kievs. My family were all saying that I should expect to be disappointed because they're a lot smaller than they used to be. However, we were all pleasantly surprised because they were much bigger than we expected with loads of garlic butter too. They were delicious, so we were pleased with the price too.

Bought a deep pan Capone special it was to cold all so crispy garlic mushroom's not even cooked properly been using Capones for nearly 20 years always been excellent but gone down since new ones have taken over will not use again £14 pounds wasted

First takeaway since the new owners took over. Ordered an old favorite chilli con carne. Got home with it and thought it tasted strange so I called Capines and asked if they had used lamb instead of beef. They confirmed yes. WTF. They have not updated the menu to reflect this, and by the way, the spag bol was the same. Who uses lamb for this? Calzone Kiev was OK though according to one of my sons. Been going to Capones for years, but not anymore.

This was our first time ordering online for delivery and we were not impressed. The order finaly came after 1 hour 35 minutes, which I thought fair enough they must be busy. Then the 2 x 11 inch pizzas were both over cooked on the outside making it like cardboard and undercooked in the middle making it sloppy and because it wasn't cut all the way through due to the cardboard outer all the topping just fell off in a mess like I said not happy and won't order again adding saying that it wasn't a bad tasting pizza but what a mess

Thought the pizza garlic bread and calzone Kiev were as delicious as ever, and delighted they now deliver (never bothered to learn to drive)

My family came up from the South to visit as they are now allowed since the COVID lockdown rules have changed and we ordered from Capones. Something that my family would always ask for every time they came back up to Bradford. As a family we have all eaten from Capones for years, it has been a tradition of family gatherings however I can now see that changing. I had known that the business had been bought by different people however I was assured it would be the same. I didn’t tell anyone in the family it was under new ownership to see if they would comment which in all honesty I didn’t expect they would! We ordered multiple pizzas and fries for our family and extended family. My aunt from London didn’t believe her pizza was from Capones after she had tried a slice, she said it’s was too thick and the meat was different. She was adamant it was not the same and she didn’t even know it had changed hands I told her we had bought the pizzas from Capones and she commented that the boxes were not the signature which Capones boxes so it can’t have been from Capones. I showed her the sticker on the box saying that their signature boxes would be back in stock soon and she couldn’t believe it. Her words were “my God they have gone down hill”. She left the rest of the pizza. One of the two Calzone Kiev’s wasn’t eaten, they were just rammed with dry chicken and barely any cheese/tomato/garlic butter. Another pizza with garlic sausage on it was commented to taste nothing like garlic sausage. I thought they were all just being sheep following my aunt’s negative comments and I was really open minded but I have to say my opinion of my Calzone Kiev. The dough for my Calzone Kiev was up to standard, the cheese and sauce much like the other Kiev was minimal, the chicken was over-baring and dry to the point where I removed all of the chicken out of the Kiev and I didn’t try the ham. Usually a calzone Kiev would spill out garlic butter, tomato sauce and would have decent quantities of meat and cheeses but this was nothing like that just a dry chicken filled pocket of dough really. Out of the multiple boxes of fries only one full portion was eaten, they were way overcooked and we even had some annihilated fried in the carton which had obviously spent all day swimming around in hot oil. Overall a pretty poor experience, especially since it has been such a traditional thing to have and it didn’t live up to anyone’s expectations. The fact that we would usually have demolished the majority of the pizzas with probably two/three slices left the day after for breakfast and in this case we had more than half of the order left over and it was binned says it all.

When we found out that Capones was opening again after lockdow we were really excited .Unfortunately it is under new management and the taste of the food has totally change and not for the better.Staff that have come back to work there are amazing as always but with this new ownership change it has come at a price for family's that have been eating here for over 30 years.This was not just a takeaway,if you have a bad day and someone said do you want a Capones it would make you smile.Having family round,you would order a Capones and after a night out. My father use to bring home Capones when I was really young and I have been doing the same with my son.With great sadness I don't think this will continue to happen and I will need to find a new treat meal for the family somewhere else. A sad say indeed.

Not been to Capones for a while but got the Calzone Kiev, my partner and child got half and half pizza. It’s pick up only BUT always been pick up and my gosh the Kiev was spot on as per! Unbelievable food! Local only really but if you use ever nearby go get one!

I've been a customer since Capones opened and the pizzas and ribs are as good as ever. We moved out of Bradford twenty five years ago but still come back when we want a decent pizza. The food is always excellent and ready on time. As ever the pizzas were fully loaded with tasty toppings and the ribs are the best.

Now I have been going to this pizza shop since I was very young. They do the best pizza ever. No pizza shop that I have tried so far compare to this place . Friendly staff who are willing to chat . Try the BBQ chicken pizza and chicken tandoori ,amazballs. 10/10

Absolute rubbish,,the bread was burned to absolute hell and they did not listen to the orders I placed . There was a lot of shouting in the background and sounded very dysfunctional . Overall i am absolutely appalled at the quality of food and clearly there has been a change of staff because it didn’t use to be this big of a mess

The chin dripper is awesome, the whole family love the pizzas from here, always friendly staff on & greeted with a smile 😊

My family have been coming here for years. The calzone kiev is ridiculously good. Shame they don't do delivery but I'm willing to travel for this pizza.

I always enjoy a lasagna from here 👍🏻 it's filling a little heavy on the garlic but in general the pizza is good as well as the other food on there menu .

Orden regularmente de Capone y encontrar en general una buena para llevar. Es muy razonable y habiendo probado la mayoría del menú, estoy de acuerdo que la comida sea satisfactoria. Como yo, el italiano pizza muy normal. Más de una pizza italiana de estilo americano de una auténtica cocina italiana, la base es muy pastoso y gruesas, no crujientes y finas como una base auténtica cocina italiana, la salsa de tomate en la pizza es muy sosa y sabe como tomate puré en su propio (no concentrado o aderezos mezcladas). Sin embargo, la mayoría de los consumidores británicos no suelen conocer la diferencia. Me quedaría seguro y pedir una hamburguesa o un plato de pasta si querías una auténtica experiencia italiana de esta en general bien para llevar. También me gustaría mencionar que todo el personal es muy agradable, eficiente y amable, lo que por supuesto es puntos extra. Bien hecho chicos!

This place has gone downhill massively from what it used to be like years ago. Food terrible, will not be ordering for here again. Not sure if there has been a change of chef or something but it's put me off for life

Mi esposa y yo me encanta Capones. Mi en las leyes nos introdujo a ellos hace muchos años y nos han enganchado desde entonces. No es un lugar para llevar a comer por dentro. Esposa recibe una margarita con atún y siempre me dan un calzone kiev con champiñones y ajo extra, delicioso. El único inconveniente es que si gotea y gotea calzone mantequilla de ajo en fuerte :(. Es una pena que están al otro lado de Bradford a ellos" o no, ya que comer mucho para muchos de ellos", jajaja.

Es tradición en nuestra casa para tratar la familia a un Capones cuando tengo una asquerosa resaca. Siempre me dan una pizza chili dripper y siempre no el trabajo. Esta ocasión fue el mismo, se trataba de mis necesidades la comida basura. Sin embargo, las fichas que me dieron para ir con ella apenas dificultarse. Claro, difícil, un poco duro y frío. Mis hijos dieron una pizza con pepperoni pollo a compartir. Pizza en general bien, pero el pollo estaba plasticky, y mi hijo de 11 años de edad declaró "ella hubiera tenido mejor". Consiguieron un par de rodajas cada una. Mi compañero dieron una doble hamburguesa de bacon, patatas fritas y hamburguesas cocinadas por poco hecha. Factura Total, 25 libras. Sin duda no es una buena relación calidad-precio. Esta no será algo que tendremos para la familia de nuevo y en el futuro se pegará a mi cura resaca.

I've been getting pizzas from here for around 10 years, a tradition passed on from my mum and dad who have been getting takeaways from here for around 25 years.

Probado aquí después de unos 10 años, que había cambiado. Las pizzas eran exactamente iguales! Completamente delicioso!! Bases de pizza son recién hechas y puedes ver la masa siendo arrojadas en el aire en la cocina! Tan sabrosa, id les recomiendo a cualquiera. Pizzas adecuado!!!

I have getting pizzas from this place for over 25 years. In that time the quality of the food has remained consistently high.

We have been using this takeaway since they opened way back when, and apart fro a sticky period about 20 years ago have ordered generally weekly. Nobody has yet mentioned the burgers both 1/4 & 1/2 pound in weight served with salad and far too many fries I generally go for 1/2 cheeses burger and my wife 1/4 chilli burger both absolutely delicious, usually with sides of garlic bread and the creamiest coleslaw you have ever tasted. Recently we were host to two members of an amateur Italian rugby team who were very impressed by the pizzas, enough said. As for delivery, they are so popular and busy they have no need to deliver. I agree regarding the time to answer the phone but again surely this is a good sign so please persist. Beats the nationwide franchise outlets on quality, size and price.

This is a takeaway not a restaurant, the food is the best I have tasted for this type of meal. If you like pizzas, chilli, chicken, then this is the place for you. Only one criticism and that is, if there was a delivery service I would use this takeaway far more often, as I am sure many others would. Missing out here I feel.

Firstly, please note that this is a takeaway and not a restaurant, so please don't expect to be able to go there and eat in - you can't.Capones is legendary in the local area, because the food is really really good. We get a Calzone Kiev every time, and it's never the same twice, but it's always nice. We are yet to find anywhere else that makes a Calzone Kiev like this (chicken, ham, cheese, tomato, garlic butter) and until we do we will always go to Capones for one. Over the 20 years I've been going here (since I was a kid!) the size of the Calzone Kievs has decreased and the price has increased but as they are delicious and unique to Capones you have no choice but to pay it!As others have said, the decor hasn't changed the entire time and the menu design is the same as it always was, the only thing that's changed are the prices.They don't deliver and they are so busy that they don't always answer the phone the first time you ring. Persist! It's worth it.

Lovely food but come on. Charging 40p to use your debit card. (Not credit)Disgraceful!!It makes you think twice about going to Capones which will probably be not good for business in my opinion.Hope my 40p gets used to pay for a refurbishment.Still the same decor 15 years on??

Being married to an Italian fella I know I little about pizza ! The pizzas from capones are beautiful , very excellent standard , taste great !

I have to admit I haven't been here for around 2 1/2 years, but having seen where this ranks I have to leave a review. Make no mistake, the pizzas I have had from here are about as good as it gets. The calzone kiev in particular is exceptional and I highly recommend it... four cheeses, ham, chicken and garlic butter folded and cooked to perfection, I have never had one that even comes close in over 20 years and trust me, I have eaten a lot of pizza in that time from all over the world!This pizza shop has been here since the 80s and having lived locally I've eaten there since then. Since moving away I take any opportunity to eat at Capone's when visiting family and it's consistently good. It has never wavered in terms of quality from year to year, it's always fresh and very tasty. As far as I am aware they have never offered delivery and that stands as a testament to their customer base. They have found a winning formula and it doesn't seem to change - I'm glad it doesn't. When this place eventually changes hands and the new owner sees fit to meddle with it or they finally decide to close the doors it will be a sad day. If you get chance to visit this takeaway I would urge you to do so before it's gone, you won't regret it! You may find pizza cheaper, but you won't find it better.

I have been frequenting this takeaway for many years and nothing changes. Always the same high standard. I have moved house 3 times but still go to Capones - I have yet to go anywhere that matches Capones. My particular favourites are the Calzone Kievs - we had a couple last night - were full to bursting - as were the contents of the Calzone Kiev!Absolutely delicious.In my experience UNBEATABLE.
