Best bao buns I’ve ever had. The staff was so nice and the food was ready fast and very good! If I ever come back to london I‘ll definitely visit again!!

An authentic Chinese restaurant, of which there are not many in London. I spent some time in China, so I can write this from my own experience. Critics of this restaurant probably only know Asian fast food restaurants. Excellent selection of food, pleasant service, good prices, I definitely recommend it

After finding this on a list of really amazing Chinese restaurants in London, I was happy to find no line on a Sunday for dim sum. Char siu bao was delicious and was the perfect bun to meat ratio. Xiao Long Bao could’ve used a little bit more soup and I had a tear or two, but it was still good! My only downside is that it’s a little expensive for what you get - I spent like 12 pounds for 3 char siu bao and 3 xiao long bao, usually you’d get at least 6 xiao long bao for that. But I would still recommend it to people for sure!

This place was rated higher than it deserves. Very small portions for duck and crispy pork and was not as flavorful as I would have hoped. Charged £12 for white rice for 3 portions. Menu is overpriced, food underdelivered, try elsewhere. Did not eat dim sum, only dinner.

Tried asking the staff member whether it was Chinese or another region the food was from as he stood outside having a cigarette, to which he was confused as he didn't speak a word of English, so lost a sale.

Overall everything was very tasty and fresh. Every dish was flavourful. Would recommend! The prices are also reasonable.

I visited this fabulous restaurant Sat, 1st June 2024 with my family. I had been recommended to dine in and what a great experience. The selection of Dim Sum was amazing and really authentic. The main menu, well it's all there for you to make your choice. All our dishes were a taste sensation. We loved it there. It's only a small restaurant so you might want to book ahead. It looks nothing from the outside but the prize is the food itself and the lovely lady that ensured that service was prompt, hot and plentiful. Loved it there. I will be back.

A good variety of dishes and dim sum on the menu, I just wish mine had hit the mark. Take note, anyone who has had great Chinese food; this is not it. The items I ordered ranged from poor to decent, the prawn and pork dumplings I couldn't finish, not because I was too full but because of how stodgy and flavourless they were. Didn't taste of pork at all and the prawns were overcooked. Maybe the other dim sum options are much better? The beef noodles were nice, albeit under seasoned; I had to add a lot of soy sauce. One plus is that the portion was very large. Service was fine, slightly surprised they add a service charge for a solo diner at a spot like this. Overall nothing impressive, I wouldn't return, and the 5/5 reviews are baffling.

Name change was Cantonese Taste, now BABA TANG, same chef just as good as first time. Totally authentic, delicious and friendly with a chef who takes pride in his cooking. I would be here every week if I lived nearby.

I don't usually write google reviews but wanted to make an exception. Absolutely fantastic little Chinese restaurant - intimate setting, food was fresh and delicious and the service immaculate. The whole steamed sea bass and egg noodles were particular highlights. The host was very friendly and attentive. We walked in on a Wednesday eve and had no issues getting a table for 2. Will definitely be back!

My partner and I decided to try this because of the amazing reviews but were pretty disappointed. The food was alright, not amazing. The "spicy" tofu barely had any heat, the duck noodles were meh - everything was kind of meh. There is definitely better Cantonese in London. To add insult to injury I spent the entire evening sick after eating here. We informed the staff that I have a shellfish allergy and asked about how everything was prepared. Usually restaurants offer guidance on what is cooked in what oils etc. so we can make informed decisions. Our first clue should have been that the server just brushed us off - we were ordering chicken, duck, veggies, and tofu, no shellfish. I tried to push about how it was prepared but was waved off. We should have left then, honestly. That part is on us. The food wasn't good enough to get this sick over. Note to the restaurant: How you prepare your food is just as important as what is obviously in it. Also, not all allergies result in anaphylaxis (mine is severe gastrointestinal distress), but had this been someone with anaphylaxis it could have been so much worse. Don't wave your customers off.

Fresh and tasty food at a good price. We had chicken with ginger/spring onion sauce. Also pork dumplings and green beans with chili. All dishes were delicious.

I would prefer more variety of dim sum, but overall tasty and really friendly service.

Everything in this restaurant is disgusting. 4.8? Are you kidding me, non-Chinese people? Food hygiene rating is only 3. You can smell strong bleach. You can see the cook cooking in the kitchen and you don't want to eat anything any more. Everything in the restaurant looks like falling apart. Food is like basic Chinese takeaway. It's not expensive though.

Excellent food!! Between us we had a variety of dishes…chicken spring rolls, beef in black bean sauce, egg fried rice, hot and sour soup, and a gingery chicken dish. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Well worth a visit.

We ordered small plates of salt/pepper soft shelled crab, salt/pepper tofu, gelatinous rice in lotus leaf, and dim sum assortment with Chinese beer and tea. It was all outstanding. We took nothing home. It's a cozy place and a short walk from King's Cross. Service was quick and very attentive.

The sweet and sour pork at this restaurant is authentically prepared, with a perfect balance of crispy coating and juicy pork, complemented by the right balance of sweet and sour sauce that is not too sour to make people cough. It’s a standout dish that promises a return visit, perhaps to try the eight white steam crab.

Really nice, reasonable priced Canotonese meal. Managed to get a table for 2 as a walk-in at 7pm on a Friday. Staff really friendly, dumplings great. Would definitely go back to try more of the dumplings! Nice atmosphere & place was full as we left. Handy for Travelodge Farringdon (2 mins up the road).

I was with my dog, so I ordered takeaway, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant looked intimate and personal. The food was delicious with very generous portions. Everything tasted fresh. I absolutely loved my dinner. Although I had to eat my dinner in my hotel room with my dog looking on, the taste, presentation, and quality of my meal was five 🌟 stars! Don't hesitate if you like authentic fresh aromatic Chinese food. I'm a discerning reviewer so trust me when I tell you that this is a must try restaurant when in the King's Cross area.

We chose this after our other option fell through. I am very happy with our choice. They were very helpful and our food was delicious. I would be happy to order from here again. The dumplings were great and the crispy duck was amazing.

Went for my birthday with 9 friends and family. Lovely staff and the food is actually the best Chinese I have had outside Asia. Fresh and beautifully cooked. Recommended!

This hidden gem at kings cross at Kings cross is Must try !! If not you will regret !! Chef is serious about his cooking. Glutatinous rice crab is something unusual and taste so great ! Must order in advance as it popular. Portion sizes is generous. Service staff are friendly. Looking forward to try something different the next visit!! Yum ....

Absolutely amazing food, so authentic and delicious. The staff were so professional and very friendly. Everything cooked fresh to order and was served very promptly. The curry sauce actually had a decent kick to it. The Shanghai dumplings were the best I have ever had, for such a small restaurant I was so impressed could easily give any other Asian restaurant a run for their money. Highly recommend. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place.

Ohhh why are not more people here than in over priced King’s Cross central? Food and service at Canton Taste is equal to Hong Kong! Such authentic Cantonese flavours! Highly recommend and will be back!

I never write reviews but this chinese was amazing. One of the best places i’ve been. The staff are so so friendly and caring compared to certain places in London. - Although there wasn’t many people in there 1 to 2 couples, (9:00PM), it was still a nice friendly feeling to be in there. The lady kept refilling my water after drinking it over and over. Extremely good price, AMAZING FOOD, wish i could try everything. Served with/in traditional asian bowls, cutlery and the option to use chopsticks as they’re already on the table to use. I just wished the music was on a little louder as it would have made the atmosphere, but nevertheless it was a “relaxing” place. My new favourite spot for when i come back to London!

Food is delicious, quick and good service. The crispy duck was excellent as well as all the dumplings and buns we ordered. The menu has a good variety so I will be back to try more items next time.

Better and quicker alternative to the over-hyped Dim Sum Duck across the street. Everything we ate was delicious. The service is typical for Chinese restaurant and not particularly friendly.

Apart from stir fry and single dishes with rice, the restaurant also offers noodle/fried rice menu. The service is a bit slow but the food is good, in spite of smaller sizes of some dishes. I will not call this place expensive but it is certainly not cheap. The dining area is not very spacious. If you are going with over 4 people, it’s a good idea to give the restaurant a phone call on advance to check the capacity.

A small, very warm, very friendly, cosy place with authentic Cantonese flavours! Went for lunch and had a dim sum platter, ho fun noodles with chicken & bbq pork with honey glaze. The food was fantastic, the service was top star and the prices fair for the location. Would visit again!

Stumbled across this place when we got in late to London and were struggling to find somewhere open at 10pm on a Tues night. The staff here are all so lovely, friendly, happy and welcoming. Food was delicious!!

As a Cantonese person, this place is legit. Fast service, fab food.

On a whim, we decided to have a late dinner and ordered 19 dumplings. To our pleasant surprise, they were absolutely delicious! The taste far exceeded our expectations, and we were delighted by the quality of each dumpling. We would definitely love to visit again in the future. Highly recommended for a delightful dining experience!

This restaurant isn't in my neighbourhood. Visited for the first time last night. All dishes were surprisingly good. Obviously the chef was quite capable. Definitely will come again.

炸大肠和猪肚鸡还真不错诶！我一个不爱吃大肠的都觉得还挺不错！点心的蒸粿还不错，奶黄包也ok但这两个都蒸过了一些。其他就是一般水平吧，感觉更多是做老外生意，店里几乎都是歪果仁。

Meh average. Beans didn’t have much texture and crunch. They did not have the dish that was advertised outside.

Dim sum is great, but the vegetable dish is not authentic at all. 13.8£ + 10% for monks vegetable I expected at least some fermented tofu and some glasses noodle.. or fuchuk (bean curd skin) turns out it’s just mainly broccoli and carrot in soy sauce. When I pointed out this to the lady boss, she was defensive saying she “saw” in the kitchen, the chef added fermented tofu. I asked her to look at the dish, and it’s just soy sauce. It’s impossible as she’s front of house. I said I’m ok if she uses more fermented tofu. she just said it’s going to be salty if she adds the fermented tofu. I said ok. I expected her to change the dish or something… Later in the kitchen I heard, she asked the chef if she did put fermented tofu… need I say more? She fry the same vege with more fermented bean curd (but initially it won’t be filled with soy sauce!!!!) so the vege ended up being overcook.. It would be nice if she could offer to swap for a dish or something . And the water is never refilled… They also charged up £0.50 + 10% service for a glasses of Hot Water…..
