The food is alright when I get it, but not open when they say they are lol

Food tasted like it has had water poured out it to freshen it up and then reheated, all stuck together and chewy

I decided to use canton house today for the first time as our usual Chinese unfortunately let us down with a hair in the food. I cant say I was pleased. I ordered in the shop, lady at the till was quite nice, there are sofas in the waiting area that are good. I ordered house special fried rice with gravy, and sweet and sour chicken balls. I opened the rice and it looked like gruel! The pork was 100% gristle and fat. The beef was like jelly. I don't like wasting food so asked my partner to try some. He claimed it was completely inedible. The gravy tasted gross and was basically congealed despite opening it minutes after receiving it. I can't stress how vile this rice looked once I opened it. Like dog food. A shame as it was almost £10!

I ordered takeaway from here a few days ago as they're one of the only places around here that offer cash on delivery. pork fried rice was perfect. However the 2 kinds of meat I got (Chinese style pork and chicken balls) were really fatty. I had to pick them apart before eating but it was still nice. Noodles were great too. EDIT Went today to get pork fried rice for me and my partner, and the rice was hard and overcooked in some places :( really dissapointed as the rice from a few days ago was lovely :(

Best tasting Chinese food I've had in 50, yes 50, years! Have recommended this restaurant to everyone. This is the only Chinese restaurant I order from now, haven't tasted better noodles! I have used this restaurant since it opened and the food had been consistently great, and the staff are always friendly and efficient, including delivery drivers. Enjoy!

We had “House Special Chow Mein in Gravy” and “Shrimp Fried Rice”. Those were delicious. Enough for two. Worth for money.

Worst Chinese ever. Order took nearly 3 hours (just eats say 45 mins) then the dimwit driver delivered to the wrong house. Which I had to go get. Was cold and dry. Owner offered no compensation. Absolute joke

DO NOT USE. Ordered over 2 hours ago and still not arrived. Been trying to call and line is constantly busy. Second time this has happened, won't be using them again.

Waited 2 hours for food delivery. Took half an hour for them to answer the phone when chasing the delivery and very in helpful. Told food is with driver but couldn’t tell us when it would be delivered. Terrible service wouldn’t use this place again if you paid me

After spending near on £40, no prawn crackers with our meal! Curry very odd flavoured, I don't know what them crispy dumplings were, everything came onions when asked for without. Can't say we'll use these again.

Ordered at 7pm and despite calling several times (to no answer), my order did not arrive at all. Waited longer as it was Christmas eve and food finally arrived at 9.45.

Always use Canton House and cannot fault them

1st time using this restaurant and it was great. Easy to pick up from and tasted delicious. We'll be back!

Waited for 1hr &40 minutes after phoning twice to see where my order was…. Order went missing and said it’s leaving now, asked for some extras for being delayed so long… prawn crackers was the only option an asked for a can of cake as was told no . Only prawn crackers…. Shame the customer service is rubbish but the food is good… Pizza next time me thinks 😔

Ordered at 21:15 and got a delivery time of 22:20 but it never arrived. No real time order tracking and despite multiple attempts at ringing them, no answer to our calls. Will raise the issue with out bank tomorrow as they are nothing but blatant thieves.

So where do I start. I ordered my food and in the special instructions I asked for the order to come slightly amended. The food arrived about 30 minutes after ordering and opened it up and found out that 90% of the order was not correct so I immediately to advise theh that's when the 2nd lots of issues started. After 3 very heated phone calls from a very rude woman have asked for my money back and asked them to collect the order

Everything nice although Sweet n Sour sauce bland just sweet so added vinegar and was ok. Not sure if I will bother again as S&S must be good

Ordered from here for ages I order direct never from just eat and it always arrives fast and lovely food .

If you like your food to turn up late and cold with dishes missing this is the place for you. Ordered my food at 6pm for a 72 minute delivery. Goods turned up 30 minutes late, with 2 dishes missing and 4 dishes cold. Called them and was told it will ALL be replaced in 15 minutes (AMAZING SERVICE) 40 Minutes went by, nothing. Called them and was told its just being finished and will leave in moments (I live 5 minutes away) 30 more minutes passed, still nothing. Called again, they answered then kept me on hold for 24 minutes. Was then told that its the drivers 1st day and she's had issues. 25 minutes passed (STILL NOTHING) Called again, to cancel my order, once again the phone was answered, they they just left me for 26 minutes occasionally talking to me then coming off the call. I was told I could have the food that was originally delivered as a gesture of good will while i await my food. Baring in mind it was cold when it originally was delivered over 1h30m ago. 10 minutes later food turns up, driver says she's been working there ages and she's only just been given the food. Will never order from here again!!

Disgusting service. Ordered through just eat. At the time it was due to be delivered I had to call to chase. They put on just eat it had been delivered! It had not! Twice had to call to chase. When finally received over half hour later a sauce had been damaged and was all over the food. Awful service and will not be using again.

The food is apparently good but I wouldn’t know because my food never came! Terrible customer service, we waiting an hour and 40 minutes and when I finally got through on the phone I got the impression my food hadn’t even been cooked. Avoid!

Beautifully tasting food definitely will order from them again

This isn't even worth one star but there is no option for 0 stars. Ordered at 7pm it is now gone 9pm and still haven't received our order. Called over 200 times but they either didn't answer or answered and left the phone on the side. Taken our money but no food. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

Yummy, Hot and fresh! I love the tofu dishes, especially the sweet and sour. Usually fast delivery and friendly. My new favourite place.

Ordered chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls,and roast pork with mushrooms and paid 50p for extra chilli's never saw one chilli absolutely not worth the money chicken balls were over done ,chow mein was dry as old leather shoes roast pork edible that was the 4th time we ordered from there and I have to say everytime was really nice recommended it to a few people then we had that one ,I sent them feedback and they didn't even bother to respond will not be using it again .Try Good Food laindon station just opened up again very good.

Very good quality chinese food. There app is great and easy to use. Particularly enjoyed their salt and pepper chicken.

Pleasant shopping experience with English speaking staff

This has become my Chinese takeaway of choice when visiting relatives in Basildon. Used several times now and always had excellent food and service.

It's one of the worst Chinese restaurant in my life! They didn't deliver because I parked up with a truck! I don't recommend it for no one! Thanks

All the staff of Kingswood Estate Agents have been visiting Canton House since it opened, it is simply the best Chinese food in the area by far!

I've never been into the shop but the takeaway has been lovely. Love my regular dishes,but it inspires you to want to try the others. I normally order from another local Chinese but once I found this place,I've never ordered from anywhere else. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and the delivery is excellent. Its about time basildon had a decent takeaway!

Order twice before food had been really good. Disappointed today by the sweet and sour chicken balls as I do not eat the sauce I appreciate that it used to come separate but not today. Could not eat part of my meal
