Ordered a Chinese tonight and had to wait 90 minutes for it to arrive then once delivered it was completely the wrong order much less than the order we had placed and all ready paid for. We phoned them back and was told a driver would come to collect the order we had been given to take it back to them and then they would cook us a new order. We are currently still waiting for our order to arrive and it has now been another 60 Minutes and still no sign of our order so after 2 and half hours we are still with no food and £22 we spent! Extremely unhappy and I won’t order from this place again!

(I don’t normally leave reviews so this must be bad). After ordering £65 worth of food, our order came and 3 items were missing (everything my husband wanted). I rang up and spoke to a man who proceeded to tell me that I was lying. My friend also spoke to him on the phone and he also called him a liar. After arguing for 5 minutes, he told us we could pick up the missing items. We all couldn’t drive as we had been drinking (and why should we). We told him no and eventually the items came. The food that we did receive was poor quality for the price (more expensive than our favourite Chinese that couldn’t deliver that evening). I would never order from here again and hope others do the same!

I really wanted to give The Canton a good review and I realise how busy restaurants are at the weekend, especially at Christmas and especially with the pandemic but I just can't bring myself to give higher than a two. I'm a vegetarian and the rest of my family are meat eaters so there was a combination of meat (chicken) and veggie dishes on our order, but I found a piece of battered pork in my Cantonese style tofu and we received pork pancake rolls instead of vegetable spring rolls. I didn't notice the pork in the tofu until halfway through and felt really nauseous afterwards so it really put a damper on my evening, plus I couldn't eat the spring rolls I wanted. I realise honest mistakes can be made, I worked in a Chinese takeaway for two years, but it just feels almost negligent to me.

Ordered the food on just eat and paid for it, was delivered after over and hour and half. The next evening the delivery driver was banging on the door, shouting and demanding £12. And all we got was a sorry over text once I had sent the evidence. Oh and also a sarcastic text from the delivery driver - awful.

Had a takeaway, based on reviews by TripAdvisor local customers. The food was very poor quality, tasted terrible, and we all had an upset belly the morning after. These reviewers should eat at good restaurants/takeaways and their standards would be higher. The big wok food is much better. Will not stray from them again.

Me and my partner order regularly from this Chinese and we absolutely love it. When we got back from Alton towers this Chinese bent over backwards for us, it was nearly midnight and we was hungry and they still delivered to us. And the food is amazing

Without a dought the best chinese food around. We regularly have take away from here. Food always fresh and pipeing hot. Staff very friendly and always make a fuss over the kids. Recommend the salt and pepper chicken. Ben

Took my beautiful ladies to Canton the evening before Valentine's. It's 2 minutes drive from Clipstone and as good, if not better, as anything in the big cities. Chicken satay, hot & sour soup & prawnies to start - The crackers are amazing, 4 skewers is a nice touch & the soup is spicy but not too sweet. Onto beef & green pepper in black bean (the best ever!), sweet & sour chicken HK style & crispy shredded in chilli sauce - All about 1.5 times the size of your standard take out portion. Large rice came in a mini-wok with wooden spoon which made it easy to serve & then a massive plate of chow mein with another basket of crackers! Throw in a pint of Chinese lager, a bottle of water and a glass of lemo and the lot came to £43 & this included a couple of containers as doggie bags. You'd be looking at £35 from a takeaway so great value. Restaurant was nice & welcoming & service was quick despite busy takeaway trade on a Saturday night. They do all you can eat for £15 Mon-Thu so will go for this sometime. Lovely, local restaurant - Thanks Canton!

Had Takeaway delivered. Was very nice. Recommend chicken Peking Style Only grumble was that the the sweet and sour battered chicken balls wasnt very good. It was like a dense break fround the chicken. Wasnt crispy like other places, just dense bread texture Would order again Thanks

Not been here since March the food is always very good and loads of choice the staff are friendly and its a good atmosphere

Used to go all the time, loved the fresh tasting food an sauces but since it changed management not as keen on the change of sauces

This is one of the most amazing food places i have ever ate at, I have sat in the restaurant at times and the food is out of this world if i had the money i would eat here every night the staff are very friendly and make you very welcome

Went here last night. It was amazing. food was piping hot, plates were hot. This as got to be the best Chinese I have EVER eaten!! will definitely be a regular customer from now on! I live miles away from the restaurant, but was going out with friends that live in the area, who also haven't eaten there before. But will be travelling there at least once or month or maybe more!

Living out of the area and visiting friends we decided to give this restaurant a try. My friends who live nearby and had also never eaten there before have seen the error of their ways and realised what they've been missing out on - but no more! Food was amazing, service excellent and very good value for money. We chose a set dinner which included a starter plater with a mix of gorgeous food (especially the spare ribs), pecking duck (always a favourite) and then you have fried rice with a choice of main course (with no extra charge for things like king prawns). For three people including a bottle of wine it came to £20 per person and we were given food parcels to take home with us! This is the best Chinese I've had in such a long time - my friends will definitely be regular customers and my only problem now is how soon I can get another visit sorted from 50 miles away! We went as a group of four the celebrate my Birthday and had a good night. It was the first time anyof us had been and we went on Trip Advisor recommendations.The food was good and the service excellent, three of us had a set meal and the other had English, as she is not a fan of the Chinese food.All the drinks went onto the bill which was barely over £20 each in total.As I said it was the first time we had been there but it will not be the last.

When our old takeaway got took over the standard dropped so we looked for another. This place is a gem and after a year or so, we have not complaints. Food always tastes great, good and fresh. Eat in or takeaway, you will be happy!

Ordered from here as usual chinese was closed. Not really any complaints just different tasting from what we are used to and a bit more expensive. All in all not bad.

My husband and I eat here regularly and we love it. The staff are great the food is amazing such good quality all cooked fresh. Ignore where it is if this was in town it would be booked solid. One of my favourite places to eat out.

This restaurant is local to us. Don't be put off by the area because the food is excellent and the staff are great - nothing is too much trouble. We have eaten there many times and never had a bad meal. It's a shame it's where it is because I think if it was town centre they would be packed every night. Give it a go and you won't be disappointed!
