Been going there for years and still really nice food and friendly service thanks so much.delivery not a problem.

We had a table of 9 for a special birthday. Everyone had a great time. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was delicious and served quickly. We had the all you can eat buffet- try it!

Being new to the area decided to try this place for a takeaway and must say it was excellent.Food was delivered on time and was hot and tasted lovely. Will use again and will visit the restaurant soon.

The Double Dragon is an old style small town Chinese restaurant that serves up business mans lunch type food. The menu provides starter, main course and sweet for an incredible £7 each. We visited twice last month and on both occasions the quality, quantity and value were all faultless. The place itself is nothing to write home about but the food was excellent.

We booked for 7 people for Sunday lunch and turned up with an extra body. Staff quickly rearranged table to accommodate. We had the very reasonably priced set 3 course lunch. You can have soup or fruit juice to start We tried the chicken and sweet corn soup. All bowls went back empty so was enjoyed by all. There is a number of main dishes to choice from. Pudding is pineapple or banana fritter and ice cream The staff knew my mother in law who is a regular and were very thoughtful and concerned over her well being after the death of my father in law. We can recommend the service and food without hesitation.

we went in for the Saturday afternoon special menu which was good value for money, I did think that it was a wonder there were not more customers, my only down side was it was very chilly and didn't seem to be any heating on.

I attended on the evening of the 22 February with my friends, one of whom was her birthday. All I can say, is that the environment calm and peaceful. That the staff were fantastic, and that the food was sublime. Even when other diners entered the atmosphere remained calm and comfortable. The menu had a wonderfully varied array. And I can not praise the Staff highly enough. I will most definitely be dining there again, and most probably again and again. Thank you.

Literarily, we through 3 dinners in the bin .The lemon chicken was congealed. The chips had been re cooked ALL DAY. The plain rice was also congealed. Chicken in the curry was rubbery. Will NEVER order again.

Food was actually not bad but they dont seem Very accomodating even though we had booked felt like i had inconvienced them a little also had a lecture about not wasting food before we had ordered yeh i get they dont waste but theres a way of saying it. No napkins on our table and never had any prawn crackers but saw other tables of 2 have them bought to there tables i would go again though cos quite enjoyed it but theres alot they need to work on

Went in at 18.15pm for a meal and was told we couldn't dine because "we didn't book" as they do not have child prices? Sounds odd and it was empty with not one single customer! Glad I didnt waste my time

Four of us had a meal here last evening. It was eat as much as you like buffet, were you chose what you liked from the menu. All of the food we had was all very nice. The staff were very friendly. And we all enjoyed a lovely evening here.

Myself and wife, and cousin and wife have eaten here for many years. The owners are a charming couple and their son normally waiters plus on some weekends they have an extra server. I can see from some reviews that the lady can seem abrupt or sharp. I can assure you she is charming, it’s sometimes if a little busy it gets a bit much for them and it tells. I’m sure by now they could retire but they keep going, he has some very traditional styles of serving some of the dishes. And if that’s how he was taught when young that’s how he still does it. Along the way some dishes have been westernised purely for our benefit, and it can show through. If for example the ribs are standard they come loaded with meat but the salt and chilli ribs are very small pieces. Their lunchtime menu at £7 for three course is fantastic value and their buffet is a treat at the price. Ok I think they could do with new blinds at the windows and a lick of paint, personally we love them. Give the family time to get to know you to and you will be back, again and again

Told upon attempting to book that my 18month old would be charged a full adult price if she was observed Co summing any food from her parents plates. No child prices available. To be fair, she would probably have eaten a total of around 100gms of food, we'd have taken our own baby food but undoubtedly she would have wanted a prawn cracker or a noodle. Silly rule that's lost you a customer for at least the next 6 or 7 years. Plenty of similar restaurants don't charge for under 2s and have a half price offer for under 12s or similar... Try the competition in Alfreton if you are in a similar situation.

Went here tonight with my wife for a meal and the service was fantastic. Our waiter made us feel well looked after and was a good laugh and really helpful. Then we get to the food. It's amazing. Soon tastey and beautifully presented the satay chicken was just out of this world. We didn't make it to mains because we got so carried away with starters but that's an excuse for round 2

We ordered a takeaway for three which we were collecting. The food was without doubt the worst takeaway I have ever had.

Shocking from start to finish - the telephone order made was a challenge in itself to ascertain that the order placed was correct. I drove through the snow and black ice to collect it tonight, parked outside and walked in to the restaurant. The place was empty apart from 3 people who were sat on a table to my right. I proceeded to a empty table that had placed on the centre of it a takeaway bag of food that I presumed was my order.

all way lovely meal very good for what you pay i want go any where ells i have bin hear with friends and family about 12 times the staff can not do anther for you they make you feel welcoming all the time

The food was absolutely delicious .....couldn't fault anything we ordered....Staff were very polite and helpful in every way.....service was spot on....It was my husbands works Christmas night out here and it was a super evening.....will definitely be returning.

We attended here with our disabled residents. Staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs and requests (some not even being in the menu). Food was good and served quickly. No concerns.

17 of us went to celebrate a birthday and the food was very good. The table were set out nicely with linen tablecloths and napkins.

La señora que nos recibió como llegamos era grosera y no feliz que no libro. Me dijeron que no tienen sillas altas, ya que teníamos dos años con nosotros. Después de un montón de sighing ella nos sentamos. La comida era adorable, pero de nuevo la señora era grosero. Nos cobraron 6 libras por nuestro hijo comer unos chips y no dieron un plato. Obviamente si eres un regular te tratan de manera diferente a otros proximo no volver a menos que el personal reciba algún tipo de capacitación sobre cómo proporcionar un buen servicio al cliente.

Just returned from yet another nice evening at double dragon, the £12 eat as much as you want ,really is value for money,the beer is nice and reasonably priced, the staff are loverly.the chicken was tender, the prawns crackers loverly,the chicken n sweet corn soup yummy, the ribs loverly, the seaweed nice, nothing went back and nothing was over ordered, why would You? If the folk who moan about paying for waste just ask for a small portion to try, it's a eat n eat so no need to over order. WELL DONE DOUBLE DRAGON AND THANK YOU FOR LOVERLY FOOD AND SERVICE! Went here on reading reviews and wow BIG MISTAKE.Went for £14 menu with duck that's was nice should have stopped there!!!Waited for 1/2 hour to order second course only two other tables eating ??? But noticed a few take always.Because we waited so long for our second courses we ordered a little more between 4 people 7 dishes but 4 of the dishes was truly horrible chicken slimey and salt and pepper spare ribs all fat in batter so sent most of the 4 dishes back.But never said anything UNTIL the waiter told us we had over ordered and would have to pay extra for wasting food!!!So we then told him we didn't enjoy it and would like to speak to the manager and guess what he was to busy to talk???So to the manager who ever you are I hope you are pleased with charging us an extra £6 for not enjoy our meal may I just say good management!!so I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy or would ever ever ever go back to this place even if you paid me .

The worst Chinese I've eaten in.The waiter was lovely and the service was okay with food coming quickly after we ordered but the food wasn't nice at all apart from the salt and pepper chicken and the chips, we ate all the food we liked and we left some of the other not so nice food only to be told that we were being charged extra for wasting food after they cleared our table!!! God forbid you don't like something here! How are you meant to know if you like a dish if you've never had it before it wasn't like we were being wasteful for the sake of it and we didn't order loads and loads of dishes!!!! I'm so dissaponited and think it's disgusting so I will never go back here again.

Very nice personal service from the restaurant owner. We had the £12 all you could eat menu. Starting with a selection of starters of seaweed, ribs, prawn toast and mini rolls. Starters were nicely presented, hot and very tasty. We then went on to order three mains and an egg friend rice; with the rice being some of the best I have ever had, really light, fluffy and tasty. The three mains were extremely tasty, well cooked with fresh vegetables and spicy sauces. We had Szechuan Chicken, Chicken Satay and Sweet and Sour Chicken. My only criticism would be the portion sizes were much larger than I expected, so be careful that you don't order too much. Awesome value for money with nice food and pleasant staff, what more could you want?

Came to Mansfield for an escape room (#Groupon) and went to the Double Dragon afterwards. Absolutely amazing food in a relaxed atmosphere - there was a little wait between courses but we were advised of this so it allowed us to plan our meals and have a good chat between the starters and mains. Staff were very friendly but the main draw was the food which was worth the money many times over! Definitely try the duck!

Visited this place for Saturday lunch following advice from previous posts on Trip Advisor. Our expectations were to prepare for disappointment but were we ever wrong!!Granted, the exterior is a little plain as mentioned in previous reviews but, from the moment we stepped inside, we had a much better feeling.Lunch is served from midday to 2pm and takes the form of a 3-course meal; soup, choice of main course (15 options) with rice or chips and then choice of 3 basic desserts - all for only £6 per head plus drinks.The welcome and friendliness of the staff was great, service was speedy and efficient and the food was just excellent. Portion size was ample and it is a long time since I have been so impressed with the value-for-money on offer! The waiter even took the time to chat with us as they weren't that busy.We followed with a coffee and even that was good quality. I struggle to suggest somewhere else where 2 people can eat 3 courses of quality food, have a soft drink and a coffee each and have change out of £18!We will return!!

The restaurant doesn't make the most out of its prominent position on the high street and is hidden behind its blinds, but upon venturing in you will be greeted with fantastic friendly service and very good food. we had the £12 buffet and every dish that was brought out was beautiful and freshly made. It didn't make me feel bloated or heavy. We will be going again and I would recommend that others try this lovely restaurant too.

A great selection of dishes on offer, all tasted great, no complaints. The staff kept us well attended to and offered frequent help and drinks, friendly manners. Nice environment. Will return soon.

Absolutely love the food here. Plenty of choice from the menu and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble.Plenty of tables and very nice decor but never too busy even on weekends - even though I couldn't fault this place! I have never had to book a table. I highly recommend the crispy seaweed along with the king prawn dishes - To die for!Extremely tasty all round and generous portions, as opposed to other Chinese all-you-can-eat restaurants. Making this excellent value for money as I believe the price is around £12 each, to order anything off the menu without restrictions - seafood included in this unlike other restaurants nearby.A faultless, very pleasant dining experience.

Once again I find myself here, so there must be a reason. Excellent value for money100%, staff willing to help100%, piping hot food 100%, table layout 100%, that stunning massive 3 d picture 100%. Yes once you are inside you'll be more than happy. Now for the food! Ribs excellent, crispy seaweed excellent, chicken n sweetcorn soup excellent, spring rolls excellent, prawn toast nice, prawn crackers excellent, chicken curry very nice, beef n pepper in black Bean sauce excellent, chefs chicken in red sauce ( beautiful breast in crispy coating covered in red sauce. Very very nice indeed!!!!) Egg fried rice nice. Chips in salt n pepper. Now that I wondered about, wonder no longer. Chips, chopped onion, chopped chilli, hot but hey very nice!! The plates went back clean. There is no point over ordering food, if you want more they will give it you. IF YOU EAT CHINESE FOOD I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO FOR AN EVENING MEAL. At £12 a head for a eat as much as you want you simply cannot go wrong. What's more this is not your usual, all the food is cooked and not In tins, its the quickest table service you'll get.!!! My reason for this is kerb appeal, it only wants minimal work, paint upstairs window frames, a couple of bulbs in nice sign lamps and the red re colouring on sign. I came here with my wife on a spur of the moment decision. The cook to order dishes on the all you can eat menu are fantastic. My favourite choices were, mixed hors d'oeuvres, salt and pepper chicken, any king prawn dish and Singapore Chow mein. I did feel that the lady taking the orders thought I was greedy, but I probably was lol. However we didn't waste any food. It's a shame they don't do a crispy beef in chilli or chicken wings, but never mind. We will be going back soon.

We went here to celebrate my dad's birthday. And I must say the food was fantastic. And the ladies who was serving us was fantastic too. Very helpful and tentative made our night even more great. Thank you.

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, as you would expect Chinese décor. We had the eat all you can menu, I asked what were the restrictions, there were none other that you were expected to eat what you order. (I agree one should not waste good food) If you are not sure weather you will like, it is best to share, The aircon was a little to noisy and over powered the back ground music. Fortunately it was not continually on. The food that was ordered, was cooked fresh and came in good time. all was tasty, we left when we were comfortly full. Happy to recommend.

Went for spur of the moment belated family birthday meal with no prior knowledge of the restaurant. Food was hot and tasty , good service, good price for food and drinks, left full and satisfied. Would definitely visit again if in the area

Booked for a large party of 14. Food was great . Amazing price @£12.00 all you can eat. Wide range of choice. Really nice , helpful staff. We aren't always the easiest group as we have some mobility issues and several of the party have learning disabilities but the staff were great.Thank you

Visited Saturday evening and had a eat as much, the crispy spring rolls where best I have ever tasted! The ribs were loverly, The 2 large bowls of prawn crackers where best I have had and lots of them, the chicken curry was loverly, the beef in black Bean sauce was loverly, the Cantonese chicken was really nice. Rice was fine,The drinks where reasonably priced and nice. The food was served in quick time and was piping hot. The matradee was helpful over types of food also, pleasant and had her eye on things. Which is how it should be. A very nice place at a very reasonable price of £12 a head, no wasted food but full bellies. Compliments to the chef which is well deserved! Defiantly will be back.

We often have takeaways from here and we have for years. When delivered the food is always piping hot, the wife says the beef and mushroom is the best around and I highly rate the Chinese chicken style.We did eat in the other week, £12 for all you can eat, food very good with friendly staff.I think the place does need a little background music as the atmosphere isn't the best and we felt like we had to whisper at times. No better Chinese take away around, well worth a try!

Very nice food ,but rude staff they put me under interrogation when i left a dish and i was quite scared to order more food of the all you can eat menu.

This restaurant is situated on the main Street and serves good food at reasonable pricesThere is an ‘eat all you can’ menu for £12 per person. The menu is varied and plentiful. There is good friendly service, and the staff are all very helpful and have good knowledge of the dishes. The food is of a good quality and served hot.It was quiet initially on the Sunday evening that we visited in July, and then it started to get quite busy mid evening. They do quite a lot of takeaways also. We will definitely be revisiting.

My family and I have been a few times and the food standard and flavours are excellent. The arrives very quickly .The difficult part is when to stop eating from the all you can eat menu .The staff are friendly and helpful.We have had a great time during every visit !

Recommended to come here by the people I was staying with,I did just that. From the out side it's looks fine and indeed inside it's ok.clean laid out well, attentive staff. It seemed a bit quiet for a Friday night but the phone did not stop so I guess that is where a good deal of income is coming in from. There were about 7 in the restaurant. I ordered hot and sour soup,sweet and sour pork special fried rice. and drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was hot and fresh, tasted good looked good and served quickly with out being rushed.Food like this is hard to find and it felt like I was being served good home cooked food. Will come back for sure next time I'm the area. So often Chinese food is tasteless and expensive this was not.

Rediscovered the Double Dragon by chance this weekend and so glad we did! There was so much choice of a wide range of dishes of delicious freshly cooked food from a varied menu for a set price of £12 for a meal (£14 if you have the delicious crispy duck) and really friendly and attentive service. Our party of four enjoyed every mouthful and we will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for an excellent meal.

This is a family -run Chinese restaurant. It has a set price £12 for a meal. This gives you as many choices as you want from over 100 dishes. The portion sizes are good. The food is very well cooked. The only extra is if you want duck. This price does not include drink.The only rule is that if you order it you must eat it, uneaten dishes are charged extra. I think it is very good.

Whilst having to buy some stamps, m and the wife pulled up outside the Double Dragon in Mansfield Woodhouse on Thursday 4th September. We saw on the window they did a dinnertime special of a 3 course meal for only £6, so we decided to go inside. We was greeted by a friendly waiter who took us to our table for 2 and gave us our menu's. I chose to have fruit juice for a starter and Beef Curry with egg friend rice for main and Ice cream for dessert, whilst my wife had Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup for starter and Chicken & Lemon with Egg Friend Rice for main and Banana fritters for afters. The meal was very good and very filling and the waiter and the lady member of staff were very polite and friendly. The Restaurant was very clean and tidy.

I have been going here for years and the food is very good and reasonably priced. They do a very good 3 course lunch menu for £6 and also take away. The decor is a bit worn but this is unimportant against the good food and friendly service

This restaurant knows how to prepare chinese dishes which are tasty ,fresh and hot..A well established restaurant where the chefs turn out food to a consistently high standard. Reataurant or take a way you will not find better in the Mansfield area.

We visited mid week, two adults and two children under twelve and had a lovely meal. The staff were polite and explained fully what was on offer. We chose the all you can eat menu at twelve pounds per head and all meals were perfectly fine. The staff were quite willing to reduce portion sizes in most instances which was helpful when you are dining with two picky eaters!They do not like you wasting food or over ordering and leaving too much but to me that is just common sense anyway and is the same of most all you can eat restaurants. There was no time limit and we did not feel rushed, also on another note you were able to mix and match starters and mains, a few of the all you can eat restaurants I have been to only offer starters then a main, you cannot return to starters once on a main, which is a shame but this place let you mix and match which was nice. The courses came out hot and you weren't waiting more than five minutes a time. The only downside was they left you with the same cutlery all the way through the meal, I would have preferred a replacement at some point, but then again I never asked so maybe they would have given fresh, will try asking next time! All in all a lovely meal and we all agreed we would go back. They also reduced the price of the bill for my two children as they noticed that they had not eaten as much as us two adults which was a nice bonus, but just to mention that is not always the case, it is at the manager's discretion. On another note the drinks prices were fine too, average pub prices so that helped with keeping the bill low.Keep up the good work and see you soon, yum yum!
