They canceled Winterfest, fired a lot of people, and made them sign NDA's about how unsafe the rides are. I will never spend another penny at this place.

I cannot believe you you cancelled Winter Fest!! We have gone every year since you started it!! The park is Gorgeous with all the lights! My grown children and grandkids love coming. Santa's workshop and the post office to write their letters to Santa was always a favorite shop. The park has always been full but, easy to move around and enjoy! Since Six Flags has merged with the company I think your making very stupid moves and this is the biggest wrong move to make. I'll go to Hershey Park and tell others to do the same. I grew up in that park and I know things change but, getting with Six Flags was the wrong move.

One of the best amusement parks in the country. Excellent ride selection and they're filling in gaps where they can. Theming is minimal. Park layout is basically a line so prepare to walk a lot to get between the best rides

This is the BEST amusement park that I have ever been to out of all of the ones I've been to but i would advise to NOT GO ON WEEKENDS VERY VERY BUSY Tuesday and Wednesday is their least busy days

I really hope you guys didn’t fire all of your employees, I will be cancelling my season passes and go elsewhere will never spend my money here AGAIN

Winter fest is absolutely beautiful but dress for the cold!!!

I went here with 2 kids. Amazing rides had an amazing time. Prices are over priced for 2 cups of fries $23.00 😂😂😂 besides that and the long lines it’s fine

Great Amusement Park which is growing in quantity of thrill rides and quality. The food is really good and worth the cost of a all day dining pass. Tickets are relatively affordable compared to other theme parks. Always a good time here. There are some shady characters, but for being outside of Richmond, the daytime is not bad at all

I really like Kings Dominion. The park is loaded with great attractions and there's a good amount of shade. It is similar to Kings Island but I kind of liked it more. The park feels broken in, in a good way. For me I came for the roller coasters. And are there some really solid or great ones. My top three were definitely Intimidator 305, Twisted Timbers and Grizzly. But honestly I didn't dislike hardly any of them. Except Tumbili which I found pretty painful. All in all I really like this Cedar Fair park! It's certainly not perfect but I think it's probably one of my favorites if not my favorite. My only gripe and this one really needs improving, is the food quality at the park. The best place I ate at was kind of mediocre, which was a smokehouse near the park's Eifel tower... But over by Anaconda I had a Chicken sandwich where the chicken was the texture of hard rubber. Yeah really not good at all. It was atrocious. Probably the worst chicken I've ever eaten. Which was especially disappointing considering that other Cedar Fair parks had much better food. The best food I've had at any of their parks was at Worlds of Fun at that park's Gorilla Grill. The best chicken sandwich I ever had. It was thick cut and well breaded with a great aioli. Followed by good things at Canada's Wonderland and Kings Island. Honestly most Cedar Fair parks are pretty okay in this department. But yeah, seriously the food at KD is below average or horrible.

Very nice amusement park for the Holliday season! The Christmas set up was amazing! I enjoyed the ice skating also ( $20 extra for this service).

My family tries to go to Winterfest here every winter, but I feel it’s getting a bit below standards. This year when we went, many of the food places were closed, many rides were closed, and we found ourselves a bit bored with nothing much to do. I do love the ice rink here though! One of the biggest in the area

awesome park. but seriously, get rid reptilian. it is so flipping rough. I had no idea back lot existed tho and neither did I have an idea that grizzly existed.

Horrible place to work, meh place to hang out

Last night of Winterfest was horrible, multiple shows canceled with no indication/warn, performers just didn't show up, lights on but no one home. Plus very limited places open serving hot chocolate.

Always a great time!!! Winterfest was great. A little let down that roller coasters weren't running but still had fun!!

Omg fam this amusement park is one of my favorite! We have cedar fair passes so we come at least 5-7 times a year. So much fun coasters and stuff to do. Dominator and project 305 is my favorite! I also really like flight of fear that’s a good one also. The food is actually good quality for being amusement park food. Jukebox diner has some great burgers and pickles. But if u go u have to yell about the jukebox to get a free meal. Go in the diner and scream JUKEBOX and u get a free burger and fries. Also there is some booths in some of the restaurants because tables suck.

Awesome time @ New Years Eve 2024. Weather was just perfect. The place was full, but it was still easy to walk around. The lines were long, but accessible to a few rides. Kids and adults had fun. The bands playing fav's for all ages keep everybody dancing and having a great time. Fireworks were top-notch.

The wait time was way too long—stood in line for two hours, only for the attraction to break down. A complete waste of time. Very disappointing experience

WinterFest was AMAZING here! It was so magical. I'm glad that we went after Christmas and during the week. It was less busy but everything was so beautiful.

Nice park, great rides, okay food. The park is in a bit of a weird in-between with rights and stuff so the theming is a bit inconsistent, but that doesn't change the ride quality.

We planned a vacation here on a whim, and I had the BEST day with my family!

We went there on New Year’s Eve! The park opened at 5pm then there was a thunderstorm. At around 6:30pm the rain stopped. A lot of ride were closed even after the rain (especially for the kids: planet snoopy) There was a lot of shop than ride. It’s a kind of holiday market not amusement park.

We went for Winterfest. It was wonderful and colorful, and I will do this again. It could be romantic if it's a couple going. Or super exciting for little ones. All the staff was helpful.

Decent park. Pretty crappy that they charge for parking. And it’s way overpriced at that. Your already paying extremely marked up prices to get in and to top it off with astronomical parking fees is ridiculous. It’s not even maintained either. The lot is rugged and has many potholes.

Fantastic. New Years Eve party was great. Park was full of fun loving people. Can't wait til the park opens in spring.

Absolutely not worth it. I’m very disappointing with their New Year’s Eve event. This park is outdated and in need of a deep cleaning as well as renovations. For the $51 ticket price, plus an additional $30 for parking, I anticipated a well-organized and magical event. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The food options were extremely limited and overpriced—I paid $34 for two slices of pizza, which felt unreasonable. The fireworks display was underwhelming, lasting only 3-4 minutes and positioned far from the park, making it difficult to enjoy. While there was a live DJ and dancers, the music selection felt dated and the entertainment didn’t justify the cost. Additionally, the restrooms were poorly maintained, hard to locate, and lacked essential items like napkins or paper towels. This was my first and likely my last visit, as the experience did not meet the expectations.

Menominee Park we did not like was $30 to park and the price of everything in the park is outrageously priced. Why we love Winterfest, the cost of parking and food really makes this question if we will come back

Everything is good, I gave 4stars as because the parking fee is a little bit expensive.

My wife and I have been visiting Kings Dominion since we started dating. We have always loved Halloween Haunt, and now we share the experience with our kids. Things have definitely changed since our first visit, and it has been an adjustment, but even our worst experience ends with the same nostalgic feeling. The winterfest has been a great addition to our yearly visits.

Visited the for the first time, it’s a beautiful winter wonderland. Excellent experience. The singers and actors do a excellent job of entertaining the audience.

They canceled the show in theater. It is one of the main attractions and they just hang a sign saying, no show today.

The lines were long for some riders, example for bumber cars . They weren't long because of too many people at the King Dominion but because there were too few cars. It wasn't even fun as there were too few cars in a large space. So you just go around for a few short minutes without much bumping. There were only one or two places where you could sit inside and eat. Overall, it's a ok place if your drive is less than an hour.

The winterfest was great for the grandkids even though most of the rides were down due to extreme cold weather conditions.

They contract employees, and promise them free tickets, and don't deliver. Was promised my tickets would be made available at guest services on my arrival date the 23rd of December. No such tickets were there, and I had to take my children home because I wasn't paying close to 200$ for admission for a family of 4, when I was told my tickets would be free since I worked there all of December, and most of Halloween. Guest services didn't care. Not one person has apologized or offered to make it right. Don't promise employees something, then not honor it. That's all I have to say about that. Should be ashamed of yourselves!

Our 7 year old loved the experience and although it was pretty busy they had plenty of things to do for both adults and children. Would totally recommend.

Attended Winter Fest 2024 and had a wonderful time! The park was beautifully decorated with lights and displays, vendors throughout the park and rides were open. If you're looking for a fun family winter activity (or great date night), add this to your list.

Always love spending time with my family here. 2nd year at the Winterfest and this might be our new tradition.

I'd rather drive an extra 90 minutes to go to Busch Gardens than just drive down the street to this park that's constantly removing coasters. The park atmosphere already feels empty enough. RIP Anaconda.

Best time ever. We were invited for the first time by A Kid Again. We had an unforgettable experience. We were able to come during Winterfest it was very cold! But so worth it!

Been coming here for 35 years, we love all the Rides, Waterpark, Shows, Events, Fear fest, Winterfest, Food and much much more. Best value to get a season pass, you get free parking and can use the park all year long.

Have gone the past couple of years with family. Beautifully lit up for the holidays with some extra vendors for some unique gift ideas. Also great time in the summer with both the amusement park and water rides. Halloween is my favorite though.

Half of the park is closed. Large empty areas. Seems a little thrown together. If you are looking for a good Christmas experience, stick with Busch Gardens Christmas town

It has needed upgrades for a very long time, and it is finally getting them! The bathrooms need a permanent attendant though, it's terrible

This review is strictly on the employees that work here not the park itself. They need to hire employees over 30 years old because these teenagers don’t know what they’re doing and don’t care about their job, they look like they want to leave, like put a smile on and look friendly, that’s what you’re getting paid for, not for me to deal with a grumpy little teenager. I noticed the older people I dealt with would put a smile and be friendly and greet you. The checkout lady at build a bear with long dark hair and glasses was the worst. Handed me my bag while looking away from me, didn’t thank me for my purchase. Like hire people who care about their job and not just any bum from the street. I’m 30 years old myself so no this isn’t a grandpa writing this to get off my lawn. And as a fast lane pass holder I expect to be put on the ride first. On the blue ridge tollway they kept letting non fast lane people on first, and there was a line of 5 people in the fast lane, we should go on first before the non fast lane people, that’s what I paid $300 for, they’d grab one of us from the fast lane and then pour 4 of the broke people on to the cars, and then repeat. Fast lane people should be priority to board first.

Kings dominion Is the perfect place for kids and adulthe dogs? There is so much to do there. Their food is good, but it can be better. I love kings, my opinion. It's the number one park. So I recommend you guys going. My favorite ride is the dominator it has the biggest loop in the world.kijgs dominion is the best park ever and it's so fun.

We had fun but if you're there for Christmas stuff too many rides and you won't have time to do much else so decide rides or Christmas stuff, or just come back we can't because of work.

I had purchased a winter cup online and they cannot scan my phone so I could get my winter cup. I just really thought that they should be able to find that in their system, especially after me paying so much money online so I had to spend extra money that was unnecessary other than that, the lights were beautiful.

I was hoping for better. We took our grandchildren for Winterfest. The lights were beautiful. The kids loved the peanuts show. The ride lines were long and took for ever. In some cases, people were being trained. December seems a little late for training. There were only 3 places to eat inside and the price was outrageous. $25 for a chicken tender meal. I tried to use the app to see what rides were open and it kept showing none. Five hours was not long enough to try to find things to do. There needs to be more signs to guide through the park. This goes in the category of been there - done that.

A very nice amusement park, the truth is I loved it so much that we bought tickets for the year because I live three hours from where it is but the trip is worth it, I love it

Awesome place new rides can't wait

We went to Winterfest for the first time on 12/14. The park is really decked out for the holidays and the lights are absolutely beautiful. It was not crowded, very easy to navigate. The one and only thing I would recommend is more places to dine inside. They have a lot of kiosk style places to grab something at the window, but very few indoor places. Other than that, zero complaints. Clean restrooms, friendly employees, some rides were running but don’t expect to go during this event and find all rides running. This was a great way to get in the Christmas spirit!

Winterfest is a joke for rides. They advertise rides open but they are not open which makes lines huge at the few rides they actually have open. We

The crown jewel of the Cedar fair Empire

takes about an hour to get on a ride, with only 15 people in the line. They take forever to get people on the ride. They only have the park open for 5 hours, in that case they should have their workers be quicker in getting people on the rides.

And you are a great place for kids and adults 5 stars ######################### Went on May 30th 1. Food portions seem smaller 2. Some rides seem shorter 3. The 3 point game seems a tad ridged ... The ball is heavier than normal...makes it much harder to make more that 2/3 baskets unless you have played several times prior and have figured out the secret to it otherwise it can be a waste of $12

This time of year, KD is very Festive. The park is decorated Beautifully, it's like walking in a winter wonderland!!!

Still nostalgic. Best for young children. Great getaway for a day.

My kids had a lot of fun! I recommend buying a membership. It makes your day trip more relaxed to know you can come anytime.

LOVE KD. We have gone alot this year since getting passes. All season long had a lot of fun at all the special events.

Great rides, terrible ride dispatch times. Park never seems to be really crowded, but lines.for rides are twice as long as they should be Because the operators just have no sense of urgency at all. Food here is typical deep fried fare, really expensive, and normally cold/dried out because they don't cook to order. Do yourself a favor and get a Publix sub to eat in the parking lot before you go in.

We are enjoyed Christmas lights, performance shows. Highly recommend it.

Great family fun. We visited on what was possibly the hottest day of the year, so crowds were not terrible, and Soak City was definitely a great reprieve. Lines moved quickly, and the staff was very professional and courteous.

Freezing! No hot choc or coffee to be had. Paid $65 for electric chair & it was little rough riding around. Lights was pretty.

soooo many lights . be aware that most rides are already closed for the season and in cold weather nearly every still open ride will also be closed . but the ice skating , mini shows everywhere , and refillable hot chocolate made the night magical still

The Winterfest was great but they could have actually had the outdoor heaters working instead them just sitting there.

Visited as part of Winterfest 2024. This is my 28th major amusement park and my 5th park in the Cedar Fair chain. In itself it is a good park: the offer is very good and varied with a good choice of coasters and, like Kings Island, a very beautiful main path with the most beautiful effect with a reproduction of the Eiffel Tower. The Christmas decoration for the wonterfest is more immersive. But the staff in particular on twisted timbers is catastrophic. Instead of filling and leaving the trains, people chat, they go back and forth in the cabins and sometimes worse, they stay standing, waiting without moving, doing nothing...! It's surreal. We waited 45 minutes with a fast lane! There were only 3 trains before ours (i.e. 2 pairs of 3 people) and it took 5 to 10 minutes to make a single train leave.

This, Sonic, Mario, and Plants Vs Zombies are my #1 favorite things and I will always love then for the rest of my life!

Awesome place for Halloween!!!!

We had bought tickets for the Haunt event and the basic meal plan. Most of the places that we found online for meals that were available, were not available. When we had gone to buy the all day fountain drink for the cup, they had told us that the whole park sold out of cups and we were given a small cup with a wristband saying we can get drinks every 15 minutes. While walking in the park later, not even 10 minutes, we saw shops giving out the cups to other people. We asked to exchange the bracelet for the cup and told the staff what we were told, and we were denied. Some of the places on the meal plan that said we could buy from, were not available to us to get food from. If you are a vegetarian, I would suggest not buying the meal plan either. The basic meal plan feels like a major scam and our party wasted over 60 dollars on it. You cannot re-enter the parking lot after you leave without repaying either, so you are really out of luck if you have dietary restrictions or health issues that require exiting the park for any reason (like I do.) Overall, would not recommend this place very highly. I feel like I was just scammed the whole day.

We had fun, but it was way too expensive. Even the refill cups to drink from for the entire day were like $30-40, for a regular plastic cup. We enjoyed the rides and the Halloween haunt stuff but not worth the $30 parking and $80 a person cover charge.

Our experience at Kings Dominion was frustrating and disappointing. My family and I paid $342 for tickets and a snack plan, expecting to enjoy a variety of snack options. However, several places listed on the app and kiosks as part of the snack plan—like Dippin' Dots and Auntie Anne's—weren't actually covered. This misinformation led to disappointment and wasted time as we had to figure out what was included. To make matters worse, we waited over two hours at Juke Box due to extreme understaffing. I contacted customer service and spoke with a manager, Raquel, who told me an $86 refund had been issued by her employee, Sarah Bouldin. But Raquel then claimed refunds weren’t supposed to be offered at all, leaving us confused and feeling misled. Kings Dominion's lack of organization and poor communication were incredibly frustrating. I’m still waiting for a full refund and would not recommend this park if you expect clear information and smooth service.
