Expensive and crowded. Ticket prices weren't horrible, but if you add the food and speed passes, you are getting into NFL territory on prices. We decided to forego those two add-ons and only went on two rides in three hours...so wear comfortable shoes. We also spent $75 on a meal for three, which actually tasted pretty good; NOT $75 good, but good nonetheless. Lessons learned: buy tickets and passes online. Arrive before they open and run to every ride you can before the real crowd shows up. Consider the food passes as the food is expensive. Once the park is packed and the lines are an hour or more, head over to the Waterpark to cool off and relax.

Boo Blasters on Boo Hill at Kings Dominion is one of my favorite rides! It’s a fun and interactive dark ride where you get to shoot ghosts in a cool blacklight setting. We had such a great time riding it together as a family—perfect for Mother’s Day! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun and spooky adventure everyone can enjoy.

Kings Dominion is always a great place to visit. The park is clean and well managed. Every the bathrooms stay as clean as could be expected for that number of people using them. I do wish they had more water bottle filling stations, but there is one at the bathrooms by the Bad Apple ride. I think next time we go, we will get a fast pass. The lines were long. I am also sad they took away the Beserker, the big rocking boat that flips upside down. I hope they open more rides soon because with 6Flags closing at the end of this year, I can only think KD will get even busier. We'll still be there, though. Making memories, one thrill at a time.

Had so much fun! Typically you really just come here for the rides. The food is pricey and okay, and if you were thinking of getting the season pass it’s worth it. If you are a type A planner like me download the map on your phone so you always know where you are. If you love events they are pretty busy but beautifully organized and decorated. I highly recommend going to their events just once to see everything!

It was my first time there with my family and all adult and kids needs are fulfilled. Using their app we were able to explore maps and know waiting time of line and etc. Also, all day dining pass was giving us to have different foods from different restaurants every 90 munites. But drinks are not included. This year is a 50th anniversary of the park, however everything is clean and maintained very well. Thanks for nice experience.

We purchased the daily tickets with All day dining meal for 2 adults. We have 3 kids and we are able to share the food every 1.5 hrs. We loved the Firehouse bbq.The amount of serving is enough for 1-2 people and taste is good. We were able to take food for 3x.It's worth the cost. What we did is one of us takes the food and one is in charged with the kids. We could have our 4th meal before we leave but we are all tired to walk😂. The lane for the rides is not bad too.Overall, we loved our visit.

The website takes you to an endless loop of broken links. The app is just as awful. The employees are friendly but have zero practical knowledge about the park. We ate at the burrito place that looked like a walking health code violation. Food was not being properly stored in the refrigerated salad bar. Food was everywhere, including all over the floor, windows, and employees. Bonus points for finding chicken bones in our food. We are an avid theme park family, but this place misses the mark. The rides were fun, but everything else is what will stop us from coming back.

Took my daughter twice so far and had a great time each time. Certainly not the best park we've been to, but they have a lot of rides and ride variety and do a pretty good job with themeing. Fast Lane was absolutely worth it - we went on a busy weekend and there were a few 60 min waits we were able to cut down to 5 with fast lane. My only major complaint was the number of closed restaurants and refill stations. The park was very busy and it felt like only half of the food and drink establishments were open, so waits were long at the places that were open. We purchased Premium Dining and I'm not really sure if it was worth it with the closures - we ended up hitting water fountains more than anything so as not to waste time in the refill lines. Still may have been worth it for what we did get, but I didn't do the math. Only other issues were typical of all parks - the handful of completely selfish and inconsiderate guests. Had a small altercation with line cutters at a restaurant (maybe they wouldn't have tried to cut if more restaurants had been open and the lines shorter). They should make it clear that behavior like that will lead to bans (lifetime bans, in my opinion)... maybe that would help. Overall, really a great park for our area - definitely plan to return.

We visited on what seemed like a typical weekend, only to find out it was the park’s 50th anniversary—which naturally made it busier than usual. Despite the larger crowds, the wait time to enter was surprisingly reasonable. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance to save time. Additionally, if anyone in your group has a cast or splint, be sure to stop by Guest Services near the entrance to confirm which rides they’re permitted to go on. Some attractions have specific safety restrictions that prohibit guests with casts or similar medical devices. Unfortunately, we learned this the hard way—after waiting an hour in line for a coaster, we were told my girlfriend couldn’t ride due to her cast. Pro tip: Be sure to download the Kings Dominion app before you go. It features an interactive map, real-time ride updates, wait times, and even shows your current location to help you navigate the park more easily. Also, keep in mind that the park has recently gone completely cashless, so plan to use cards or mobile payments—cash is no longer accepted.

It's a great park, better themed than other Cedar owned parks. A good amount of new and old coasters and rides. Most coasters still have a place for some type of small bag and the new rides are innovative and fun. I love that they have kept water features, good landscaping, flower beds etc. Really nice park. Really like this park. The only current complaint I have is Cedar is either tearing down or refurbing too many rides at once without opening/building things in conjuction.

If I could give this placemore stars, I would… We went on Easter Sunday. It was a beautiful day, there was cloud cover, but no rain. The lines were OK. We actually were able to ride the brand new roller coaster Rapterra within about 20 minutes. The line before had been about two hours, but they shut the ride down for a period of time and a lot of of people left the line… We never left the line, so when the ride started up again 20 minutes later, we were on the second or third cycle. People should’ve been more patient, lol… Overall, we had a good time. We got there a little later than usual, but we shut the park down with Dominator like we always do. Went on Good Friday as my kids were out of school and it was a nice day. I think half of the coasters were down, so the lines at the ones that were operating had wait times of over 2 hours. Then what drives me nuts is they are inefficient about leaving seats open on rides. Fine if it isn't busy but lines were so long, and having every other run have an open seat in my lane just really pushed me over the top. Barely any of the smaller stands were open so the restaurant lines were also massive. I'm assuming this is due to not having enough staff which seems like a giant failure when you know the date is a school holiday and you have a brand new ride you have been promoting (Raptwrra). I have Gold passes so will go back this year to try to get my money's worth but going back to Busch Gardens next year.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. The park was not prepared to be opened today. Lines at rides is to be expected however, I think only being able to ride 3 rides in 6 hours is not. Visited Kings Dominion for our spring break trip after having a great experience last summer. This trip was an absolute nightmare. We bought premium all day dining passes, yet 75% of the restaurants (including quick service drink stations) were closed the ENTIRE day. We were able to get a single meal, which we waited an hour and a half for (because so many restaurants were closed, lines formed at all of the few places that were open). We were not able to get drinks during the day, again because there were no places open, and waits were over an hour, and could not spend that waiting for a drink cup (which is advertised as being able to fill every 15 mins- not true on this visit). Vending machines and gift shop stores quickly ran out of water because of the dining/drink situation. By the end of the night, the handful of restaurants that were open closed by 7 (i'm assuming because they were out of food). I want a refund on this scam of a pass. While I can't complain about the business of the park itself, I will say the staff members seemed unfamiliar with express passes. There were many rides where the regular line was faster than the express because the team members weren't filtering in express lane personnel- which made paying the extra money for the pass pointless. We left hungry, dehydrated, and frustrated. I do not know that we will be back after this absolutely miserable experience.

I liked Kings Dominion over Busch Gardens because of the more intense and enjoyable coasters for the ticket price. For anytime I had a chance to go to Kings Dominion, it was always around April and I’d always loved my experience. I was so excited to go on Good Friday 2025 that I even bought the ticket and meal bundle - couldn’t beat a $60 price. However, yesterday was quite the exception - a lot of food places were closed, the only open dining locations were run on a snail’s pace, the restrooms were barely kept up, some popular rides were closed, and we played the 2-hour queue-a-thon with the rides that were open, but had a lot of malfunctions along the way. My friends, husband, and I were all here from open to close (11am-8pm), but only got to ride 3 rides and eat 1 meal - we all felt ripped off over this. But hey, we enjoyed getting a bunch of extra small cups of water out of all-day drink passes, being able to ride the new Rapterra, our favorite Flight of Fear, and Delirium. Can’t say if we’ll be coming back, but it will definitely be a while.

DO NOT GO BEFORE WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY! Busch Garden can be a better choice! We went on the Good Friday and such a disappointment. Several rides were not open, and when my daughter tried to ride Race 75 and Twisted Timber, both of them had technical issues and she had to turn back after waited for 30 to 45 minutes. All popular rides also had minimum 90 mins to two hours wait time. Also, so many restaurants were not open and it will take you at least one hour to get Auntie Anne or Boardwalk Fires. We ended up bought chips and soda from souvenir shop for lunch. The only open from 11am to 7PM on Friday and with the long wait time, we ended up only playing five rides instead (two of them were from Snoopy Land and my daughter is way older to enjoy them…) If this is the way they force you to buy Fastlane Passes, I will go to Busch Garden for the same price 🤷♂️

Many great memories of going to Kings Dominion back in the day. “Volcano” days. Wanted to show the kids how cool this place can be. Great new rides and some older rides have been renamed. The Grizzly still stands strong as the greatest ride in the park. Pricing has gotten ridiculous on things now and no cash is accepted any longer. “Carnival style came can run from $12 to $15 where they used to be $5. Drinks in the soda machines have hit $5.50! It’s been a long time since I have been there so call me old if you want. I was looking for the avalanche/ bobsled and knew it was re painted and renamed but could not find it. When I asked about it a staff member told me it was taken out. I didn’t have my phone on me and check that later and found that it still exists under a new name. I just couldn’t find it. Anywho. They do not accept cash any longer so that’s strange. Have fun.

Update: We went back in April 2025 & we were quite disappointed. The park is in need of serious updating & upkeep. Several rides were closed & the park felt understaffed. We purchased the dining plan & on waited almost 2 hours for our first meal. They also closed many of the dining options early. Several of the rides & attractions were shut down which impacted the experience. It's rare that I spend my money somewhere & leave feeling as though I "got beat" (meaning the value of services rendered vs $ paid was lopsided), but I felt like I got beat today. It will be a very long time before we come back to Kings Dominion. We took the Family to Kings Dominion in April 2022 as part of the kiddos Spring Break. We all enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. We got the "fast passes" & we also got the meal package that allows a meal every 90 minutes with specific vendors inside of Kings Dominion. I firmly recommend the the meal package, but as for the "fast passes" I only recommend if you are a "big" roller coaster fan. The smaller rides/attractions don't have as many "fast pass" options as the larger roller coasters. Overall we all had a good time. The one negative thing I would say is that the park is a little "dated" with some older rides that could be upgraded at this point. Aside from that, Kings Dominion does not disappoint.

It’s the perfect spot to spend a weekday morning or afternoon with a little one. It’s also great for big kids and adults (give yourself a whole day). The newest roller coaster, Rapterra, is worth the visit alone! If you live in the metro Richmond area, I recommend a season pass and an all-season souvenir drink cup. Then I went to Soak City and went on the Hurricane Heights waterslide, lazy rider, paradise plunge, and the tidal wave bay! Racer 75 was my favorite ride, it was a little scary because I have a fear of my seatbelt breaking, then falling out and dying, but my seatbelt didn't break, it was just my anxiety lol. The tidal wave bay was also my favorite because I felt like I was in the ocean, and I love the ocean. I’ve been going here since I was kid and I have so many great memories. Now that I have a family of my own I get season passes and I go to take the iconic picture at the entrance where the Eiffel Tower is in view and right below it says Kings Dominion. Some photographer runs up to me yelling say no stop you need to pay. My son immediately starts crying in my arms. I’m thrown off because why do I need to pay for the basic view when I payed $95 to get into the park. That’s like saying you pay for Disney tickets but you need to pay for if you want the castle in the background. My whole mood was thrown off, I’m confused, and my son got scared. Now I don’t even feel like going through the park anymore. Awful first experience back. Change that unnecessary photo rule. That explains why I never see pictures in front any more. Thanks.

Ruined birthday. "Tonya white" from "six flags" sent us an email at 1am they were closing today Saturday due to weather. The weather was a 20% chance of showers. Not even lightning. Just some intermittent showers possible. I spent hundreds on tickets and hotel for my son nd his friends. Now we are in Virginia having a terrible time as i scramble to save the day...for hundreds of additional dollars. This is terrible and everyone is upset. Meanwhile it's a beautiful day and as of 1pm hasn't rained a drop. Ive emailed kings Dominion asking them to make this right with no response as of now. Since it is a beautiful day im convinced this was a financial decision and kings Dominion just didn't have enough people to open the park or something. I'll never stray from bush gardens again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Im devastated on this beautiful day. Go to bush gardens! Edited at 7pm to add a photo of the public playground 5 miles away we ended up at. Not a drop of rain and we ended up playing at this park for a while with a $5 ball. No email response from kings Dominion and the number "Tanya White" told me to call did not care at all. No refund or compensation or care about the hotel and food money im still out. They couldn't even tell me why the park closed today really since it was a beautiful day. Photo of park we ended up with blue skys and weather report to prove im not crazy just disappointed.

Planned a weekend in the Koa campground rented cabin and all. Found out Saturday morning that they were closed for the day due to inclement weather…. Been here ALL day not a single raindrop has fell, no thunder/lightning ALL day… not sure who made this call but might want to get a better weather forecaster… on the good note bush gardens about an hour away was open today…. Not sure if I will be spending my money here anymore…..

Disappointing!!! Kings Dominion closed for inclement weather. The projected and actual weather was partly cloudy! It did not even rain!! What a waste of time and money! Busch Gardens Williamsburg will NOT close for just a partly cloudy day! BUSCH GARDENS FOR THE WIN!!!!! Kings Dominion Corporate take notes!!!

Drove from North Carolina to attend this park and paid thousands of dollars on thickets, food passes, and fast passes. Not including the hotel! Just to have the park email us saying there closed. Every other park in America is open and running…….

Ticket buyers beware when purchasing tickets. If you have an unforseen event that happens and you need a refund there is a HIGH chance you may not get your refund eben if you purchase insurance thru Fanshield. Once you purchase the insurance to protect your purchase and something happens out of your control and you need a refund you are SOL. Fanshield has "specific" reasons to get your refund and if you do have a valid reason you still may not get a refund!!! I suggest before purchasing anything from Kings Dominion go on Trustpilot and read the reviews from 100s of people claiming that they were ripped off. Don't bother calling Kings Dominion because they will tell you the insurance is thru a 3rd party and they can't help you. I am writing my honest review. Please do research BEFORE purchasing or you will end up in headache like I did!!! Wish someone reported this before I purchased. You've been warned

My family has season's passes for several years now. I love Kings Dominion. It's a smaller regional amusement park but I've been going almost 40 years. I've seen things come and go and seen the park gradually change over time. I feel like they've done a great job keeping ir fresh and always looking for new rides and things. Lately you can tell it's showing it's age and some of my favorite rides are gone (Flight of Fear, Volcano). Food is ok, could be way better. Some of the magic is gone but enough of it is there to keep me coming back.

I will always love this place. My family and I have been a million times and it just will never get old to me. The prices are fair (when you consider other parks), the rides are fun, food amazing, great entertainment, staff usually pretty nice, and just all out a fun place to be with family!!!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I’m late in learning that they’re no longer doing Winterfest, the amazing event that brought me back to KD after years of choosing Busch Gardens instead. I’m truly heartbroken. We wanted to make it a family tradition. They put so much into that event that it made me feel like KD was making a comeback of sorts, like the park cared about “wowing” their guests with more than just big roller coasters. It was a true family event. We changed to being BG members years ago because we felt that park did more to appeal to guests of all ages. It was more than just concrete and thrill rides. I’m incredibly disappointed that KD is ending the most wonderful and amazing park experience they’ve created since I was there the year it opened. PREVIOUS POST: Winterfest was amazing! The park was beautiful - at times we just stood still so we could take it all in. The only holiday lights I’ve seen as incredible as this display was at the Spectacle of Lights at Disney World that was ended 5 years ago. This is the perfect replacement for us! The lights, shows, music, food were all wonderful, but the live animals were the icing on the cake. We could’ve stayed there for an hour just watching the smiles and laughter of the children as they touched the animals. The adults were just as delighted! We will not only return to Winterfest next year, but hopefully go more than just once. This is now our new favorite holiday activity, one which we hope will become a family tradition for many years to come!

This is a beautiful and clean theme park with a wide range of interesting and thrilling rides and high availability of affordable lockers to keep items safe. We went early in the season and there were few lines for rides. Can't wait to try the new Panterian! Only annoying thing was paying parking on arrival. Buy it in advance when you get your tickets.

Three coaster shutdowns (Apple Zapple, Grizzly, Flight of Fear) highlighted a so-so amusement park experience. The coasters and thrill rides I was able to go on were nice experiences. The food was fresh and tasty, but typically overpriced for amusement parks. Park maintenence/cleanliness was a big bummer. Every bathroom I used and the Jungle area Cafe had absolutely filthy floors. The final big bummer was the dozens of rides, shops, and other buildings that were closed the whole day. There were a few food/snack stalls with interesting gimmicks that I wanted to try, but they never opened. I'd recommend trying other parks nearby before considering King's Dominion. I had some fun on my trip, but I don't think I'll ever go back.

You (King's Dominion) still desperately need a ride operations efficency manager. Somebody who makes sure ride operations are smooth and efficient. If your employees won't dispatch rides in a timely manner, then there really needs to be more shade for those who are waiting and those who are trapped on the brake-run being baked to death by the sun. The placement for some of their rides do not make sense, and some rides need a re-theme & badly (BackLot) We have been waiting for nearly a decade for you to retheme backlot. You took my name for it "jungle Expedition" and named the area that. But you didn't repaint the coaster. You didn't add any fake rockwork, or crumbling temple ruins, or fake cavern in the tunnel of the ride. You havent turned the mini mini-coopers into mini jeeps. You NEED more air-conditioned places to eat and sit down. This is not a request, it is a demand. On top of that, you get severe storms, but no shelter?! Your Waterpark leaves a LOT to be desired. Add a mat racer slide with turns and airtime hills. Add in a "water coaster", be innovative by adding unique attractions. But that water park is sad, and the entrance makes NO sense (as it should be between Apple Zapple & Twisted Timbers. Park management really needs to consider putting up a solar farm over top of their parking lot. It would help with their massive electric bill, reduce heat produced by the sun beaming down on pavement, and it would help keep the park guests cars at a lower temperature. Last items: new rides. I'm glad you're adding Rapterra, but there are some other things you need to really bring this park up. 1) Get rid of Delerium. You just opened it, but you didn't bother to extend the ride cycle? 5 full swings, and this ride is over?! That's not acceptable. Just get rid of it & put in a Chance Rides Hyper GT-X version of the Shockwave coaster that was there. Also, you need to put in a family suspended coaster from Vekoma. Make it a multi-launch like Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood, and put it in where the Go Karts/Dinosaurs Alive were. You need new slides in your water-park, as it's kinda pathetic. Planet Snoopy NEEDS a modern family coaster! You also desperately need more attractions that the whole family can ride. You have stuff for very young kids, you have stuff for thrill seekers but you don't have much in the middle. Also, your flat ride selection is lacking as well. GET A ZAMPERLA NEBULAZ FLAT RIDE! Update the drop tower with a better one for S&S (the one with the ring of seats at hersheypark). Get ride of Delerium and get S&S to make a custom "screamin' swing" to have seats that rotate (like delerium, but it would be a way better ride experience) and put it in the Jungle Expedition area and have it swing over Lale Charles. Please fix up the Log Flume & White Water Canyon?! The water smells AWFUL and looks BROWN! The water has no proper drainage at the log flume, so it sits there and now there are a billion mosquitoes. Seriously, hire somebody and fix the land sloping issues, and treat the water with either salt or chlorine. Please finish re-tracking Grizzly! The first turn after the first drop, the final turn, and final return leg of the coaster all desperately need retracking and re-profiling. Also I went on a Monday. Why were the lines nearly an hour long?! Last thing for now; please please PLEASE give Dominator a "dominating" color scheme, because orange yellow, purple, and blue isn't it. You just repainted it, but the same ugly colors? No. Blue, Black, Neon teal, neon purple, and grey would be better. I can give you guys my color key for the coaster and you can take it from there. Last and possibly the MOST important, ADD BENCHES TO PLANET SNOOPY! At literally ALL the rides I'd be more than happy to discuss needed park improvements with King's Dominion management. You have my contact information, and you really should take my advice as when you have in the past, it has helped the park out in major ways. And to be honest, clearly you need my help, it's beyond evident.

Brilliant local chippy. Chips are traditional hand cut, the fish is tasty and batter is crispy. Best of all is the service. Absolutely customer focus, on the odd occasion that something is not perfect they are so quick to sort it out. Exceptional.

Had large cod and large chips a large sausage and a cod row The cod was cooked fresh and was a large bit of cod very tasty the chips was nice again a large portion The sausage was again nice but unfortunately the cod row was a let down the batter was not crispy the underneath was very oily The price was very good for the portions I got very friendly owner not going to let the cod row put me off from ordering again from here This is my honest and own experience and my opinion of Andy’s fish bar

Cosy spot but average service and food. The waitress seemed really unhappy, drinks and food took a really long time. My coffee was barely warm when it arrived. I ordered the pulled pork toastie which was basically all cheese and a tiny bit of pork which felt like a waste of money and was quite bland. The side salad came without any dressing so was very dry. Partner had the burger and said it was very average sadly. Ok to fill our tummies but overall dissapointing and wouldn’t come back.

PERMANENTLY CLOSED. The restaurant closed last year, and the building is (slowly) being converted to residential use.
