Candles Restaurant in East Lindsey

Absolutely lovely place. We went there for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic. The food was very nice, the steaks were great and the service was absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to visit the place again!

Beautiful place and wonderful staff

Had a great meal Friday 30th August 7 of us I had rib eye steak with Stilton sauce meat cooked to perfection kids eat all there food my neice and hubby had sirloin steak with pepper sauce again cooked to perfection and other guest had steak and ale pie all meals finished off nothing to much trouble the first time I've been and second for.my neice and family will be back best place to eat oh and I got a sticky toffee pudding with custard as I have to be the fat one in the group try this place 5 star

The services are fantastic and the breastfast was amazing so we went back for dinner .I had the bbq ribs, which was good but could have been ribs from butchers when you're paying 17.95 .if u going to ask for water, u get tapped water and get a charger 1.50 for half a glass. I never got told this until the bill came ,if they would have told me that u get charged, would have had another orange .it's not like that's all I ask for. I had an orange, which was only a pound and a pint of large as well .

The owners and staff are friendly and attentive. I had the sirloin steak which was lovely. I will definitely be returning.. I 100% recommend this restaurant.

Gammon was very salty. Frozen chips unfortunately. Staff friendly but too many ornaments,pictures and fake flowers everywhere!!

Third year of coming to this restaurant and never been disappointed, food is superb and reasonably priced, you get a warm friendly welcome from the hosts along with a very relaxing atmosphere, can not fault it.

Well what can I say the good was fantastic though could not finish the meal as there was so much the ambiance brilliant and the owner what can I say never laughed so much even did us a take away meal for our 91year old mother in law who did not want to go out. Arranged to go for breakfast there but unfortunately mum had a fall late at night and we had to go home definitely go again

Good food and service friendly atmosphere

Our first time dining here , and so unhappy I didn’t find this little gem sooner, had such a warm welcome from the owners and the food and service was excellent , hubby had a tomahawk steak and it was cooked to perfection 👍unfortunately we will have to wait till next year to go again as it was the closing night , but will definitely be back and I can’t recommend the place enough. Small and unique 🥰

We have lived here for ten years, our first visit, early evening so was very quiet, the food was perhaps over priced for what it was, veg etc was certainly not fresh, and the prices would certainly be more suited to a more up market venue..another venue ticked off ,But the countryman is only yards away and preffered.5/10

T bone steak was amazing and the stilton sauce (homemade) was to die for if you like that kind of thing like myself. Wife enjoyed her sirloin too. Staff very friendly and very welcoming. Nice family friendly little restaurant and the kids were treated to am ice-cream by the staff. Would highly recommend to anyone

Had family dinner Saturday was lovely steaks... They were massive for cheap price as well .... Personal touch from staff great little hidden gem behind the tesco end of sea lane ingoldmells steaks were flame grilled too 👌 highly recommend

Worst food we have ever had,tinned potatoes,tinned garden peas, black reheated chips.

Food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere is very relaxed and the banter from the hosts were amazing! Definitely recommend!

Visited candles on Saturday night, party of 6 which included my 6 year old granddaughter and 15 year old grandson, the food was 10/10 and the service was amazing. 100% will be returning before we go home, suggest booking as very popular little place x

Massive long wait, ordered the mix grill today and asked for all meat (extremely) well done and it all came raw, we also had chipsthey were awful undercooked horrible things, been here a few times used to be amazing but seams to of gone down hill a bit with food and service so won't be returning.

Disappointed with the food both steaks were overcooked menu described chips as chunky homemade but they were just awful. I don’t understand the peas with salad & onion rings (frozen) Waitress was an absolute joy no complaints about the service at all

Waited over an hour for food. One meal came out wrong so was asked to be changed. Waited 15 more minutes still no sign of the meal that was sent back. Went inside to cancel the food as my friends had finished eating theirs to hear the rude owner saying that I had stormed out. Which I hadn't, I'd just gone inside to cancel the food and I was not rude , unlike the owner. My friends said the food was not good, the peppercorn sauce was like glue and they'd had better steak from Tesco. Never came to apologize, in fact she never came out again while we were there. Would definitely not recommend.

We found this on the next to last day, as its a fair walk, near tesco express. There is a car park at tesco. Wonderful service, food was delicious. Premises spotless. Wish we gad found this at beging of our holidy. Would highly recomend.👍

Shocking service, food undercooked twice, and still wrong when we got it, staff ignorant, got given a moldy tomato, asked to change meal and came back literally 2mins later saying it was a completely fresh plate (very unlikely as there was a well done steak on plate) and not so much as a sorry from staff, getting orders wrong all over restaurant, no hand drying facilties in toilets. is my personal opinion experience not everybody might experience same thing, will not be going again and will not be recommending to anyone in future.

So friendly staff always make sure your having a good time when eating been their everyday in the week holiday I have not a better place hope to coke back next year

Wanted to try this everytime we came to Skegness so we thought this time on holiday we will. Phoned up to make sure we could get a table they said no worry’s you don’t have to book. We got there and there wasn’t a table free and because we said we phoned to make sure the bar tender laughed and thought it was funny. Horrible people but lovely place shame it’s owned by people that just don’t have the restaurants best interests in mind

Just happened to see this restaurant earlier in the day after popping to the nearby tesco and decided to come back for an evening meal. We were lucky in that we attended on a Wednesday which is steak night. We opted for two mixed grills which with the steak night deal came to £21. When it arrived I was amazed, there was so much on the plate. Food was amazing quality and cooked perfectly. Would definitely visit again if we're in the area and would recommend to anyone else. If your going to attend later in the evening then I would recommend booking as when we left it was nearly full

Lovely service, great food and a lovely atmosphere

Nice place, intimate, local to where we were staying. Lovely waitress very friendly, took our order. I had lasagne with salad & garlic bread. There was hardly any meat in the lasagne, lots & lots of cheese. I mentioned this to the waitress when she collected the plate & noticed it wasn’t eaten, another lady came to me & apologised saying it’s how they received it from the supplier, I suggested she get a different supplier, I was offered a free desert in compensation, I declined. Note to restaurant: I can buy 2 lasagnes for £6. From Morrisons which are 100% better than the one you serve.

Excellent food and service lovely place to eat

Lovely little place...great food, friendly staff. And they even do fillet steak...not many places do nowadays, I assume its since it costs too much to waste if its not all used. There is indoor and outdoor seating too. Unfortunately when we were here, it wasn't always open weekdays, as it was quite quiet then...in May time. But when we next go in July...it should be. The owner told us it was way too quiet midweek to open somedays, to pay the chef, waitress & sous chef.

First time visiting and was a pleasure, food was lovely, service was great. Looked after the kids too!

Excellent place for a meal, good value for money, plenty of choices and always delicious! The hosts Steve and Rose are very friendly and hospitable and very good company, nothing is too much trouble! Very highly recommended!! As always, we'll be back week after week, we love the place and the people!

Me and the wife was in skeg and fancied a steak we nipped into Tesco’s for a few bits and noticed a little restaurant tucked down the side so went to have a quick look at the menu which I quickly spotted T bone as a special which is my favourite so went in to try one the Mrs even ordered the same with us both not eaten all day so we thought let’s do this. When the steaks arrived they tasted amazing and cooked to our liking (medium) although the pics don’t do it justice it was perfectly cooked tasted amazing with great flavour chips tasted great and with a nice atmosphere the meal was perfect start to finish will be back next time we visit thanks guys

What a find, we have been to this area many times before but we have not eaten in this place so glad we did, the owners and staff are Feb and made so welcome we will be back for sure.

Me and my partner had the steaks, When cooked, they were thrown straight on the plate, not rested 1st, this you can tell by all the juice and blood on the plate, there was a lot of fat on the steaks, the chips were re-warmed chips, the scampi starter was from frozen, the salad was fresh, The staff/owners were nice, but over friendly and pushy, maybe because they try to get people in and out quickly because of how small and limited the place is. The barman, best thing about this place. Sadly would not return and not recommend

What a lovely welcome and fabulous food at this little gem we found. Rose and Steve the owners are fantastic hosts and the waiter was hilarious, such lovely people. We even got a tour of their lovely kitchen and its absolutely spotless. We will definitely be returning here for a meal when in the area. 😁

Great food and good sized portion , good value for money and welcoming hosts. We had the 10oz rib eye cooked on the charcoal grill , accompanied with home made chips , peas, mushrooms and salad . A nice bottle of merlot to drink all...

We as a family went here for breakfast, fantastic service, out standing food good value for money. So friendly and the establishment was beautiful and clean. Nothing was to much trouble. Well recommend and would definitely be paying another visit.

Loved the restaurant, the food is wonderful and so are the very friendly staff. Breakfast is excellent as are the evening meals and all are reasonably priced. The place is spotless and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

Went as a group of 8 and were served well! Staff very friendly and helpful Steak was slightly overcooked so would always order less than you want as this was evident on all steaks ordered. Good prices. Not much beer availability on draught but would return for sure

Comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. However, very substandard meal. Steak pie with tough, inedible meat. Offered free dessert, said I don't eat dessert and told to give it to teenage boy in the party. Charged full price for the meal. Very disappointed in the meal and the response to the complaint. All in all a spoiled last evening in ingoldmells.

Wow! Just called for breakfast & what a beautiful breakfast all freshly cooked, staff friendly & helpful nothing to much trouble. The toilets are spotless & smell lovely. Would highly recommend. We will be returning for breakfast & also trying out dinner or evening meal....

This is the BEST steak restaurant around! The food was carefully cooked, home made and moreish. The Rib-eye was absolutely fantastic, juicy, succulent, tender, just amazing. Have the peppercorn sauce too because that sauce is the bomb! The owners and staff are real generous, genuine, attentive, polite and welcoming. Steaks are cooked over charcoal so the flavour is out of this world!! The light bites are spot on, and our son said the nuggets are the best nuggets he’s ever had. Will be visiting again 100%
