Canal St Coffee Campbell Wharf in Milton Keynes

I came in to enjoy a coffee and cake which I couldn’t have. The cake counter had nuts on the top shelf and below shelf. I have a nut allergy and couldn’t risk cross contamination. I saw only one pair of tongs for all the cakes. I asked at the till if there was a cinnamon muffin out the back seperate. Which I was told they arrive in boxes with the nut products. So even if they’re separated in the counter this isn’t good for anyone with a nut allergy.

We are frequent customers and absolutely loooooove the coffee! Everyone is super friendly and service is great! We always love a cinnamon bun there but found there’s a little too much icing on now! It would be great to have more of a selection of muffins and things like banana bread! ❤️❤️

Great spot down by the new Wharf area in Milton Keynes. They are quite serious about their coffee and it's much better than you'll get in any of the chain coffee shops in the city center

Such a shame about the sarcastic barista that thinks it's ok to deliver parking information to customers in an extremely theatrical condescending way .(Please stick to being helpfull and having manners.customer service makes or breaks a customers experience.Its as simple as that) super greatfull that it saves people from a parking ticket however being condescending about the no parking signs appearance ,colouring and what it looks like with an obvious condescending tone and sarcastic grin to customers is not the way to do it). people choose to visit ,pay , enjoy a coffee and mostly relax .This delivery of service takes away from a positive experience. Other than that, I have previously visited a few times , honestly has good coffee and great treats , fantastic location.

A friend and I visited on Easter Sunday. We bought cappuccinos and had them in take out cups as it was just 10 minutes before they shut. The staff were lovely and didn't rush us, even though we were there so late. The cakes looked gorgeous but we weren't sure if we'd have time to try one, so we didn't get it in the end. This was the first time we have been in on a Sunday as the shop didn't open every day last year, We were pleasantly surprised that the benches are no longer taken in at the end of the day, so we had somewhere to sit with our drinks and enjoy the canal views. Unfortunately that also means that the tables are now looking quite weathered. My friend and I loved our coffees, which were a strong flavour without being bitter. We hope to return and try the cakes with our drinks. Also Canal St Coffee, with its location and cakes, must be one of the most photogenic independent coffee shops in Milton Keynes. I'm glad to see it prosper.

I went with a group on bank holiday monday, between us we spent around £40. Pastries and coffees were all good. I'm only giving 3 stars because when we sat down to eat and drink at around 2.30ish a staff member came over and abruptly said " we close at 3pm". There was no "please, thankyou or sorry..." We all figured he was giving this info meaning we could no longer order anything more after 3pm. We were wrong. Bang on 3pm another staff member came over and simply said " we need to close up now"... in other words... please take your drinks and leave! Again, there was no "sorry, please or thankyou". We were just bluntly told to leave. We all took our stuff and left and were all of the same opinion that the way in which this was communicated to us from the staff was quite rude and unprofessional. It's a shame because it slightly soured what would have been a nice visit to the cafe. My suggestion to the manager or staff would be just to inform the customer politely that they need to finish up by closing time.

Comfortable place to come for break after a nice walk along the canal or through Campbell Park. Great selection of food and drink. Coffee is excellent!

Quite slow service I realise there is a lot of people but we come everyday and you could have more people making coffee. Staff are not always too friendly but I realise it's busy but a smile goes along way. Want to add this is not negative your coffee is banging just slow.

Nice visit for coffee with my better half. Cakes are superb. Coffee tasted great but was lukewarm. Make sure you ask for extra hot if you like it that way Nice atmosphere with chilled music. Locally sourced stuff. Seating inside and out.

Don't take cash. Frankly the coffee wasn't that flavoursome either. Seems a little pretentious, took ages to get served. Had a bun which was a bit dry.

Great Cafe by the canal! Really good selection of food and drinks especially sweet treats. Was abit disappointed that they ran out of matcha but will definitely be back to try it 🤭

Great Cafe, right by the canal, enjoyed a matcha latte and incredible pistachio cinnamon bun (to die for!!!). Lovely staff and service was great. Clean toilet. Will be returning when in the area. Keep it up!

I’m a massive fan of this cafe - the baked goods and patisserie are particularly and notably fantastic - my friends and I tried two varieties of blondies, a croissant, a cinnamon chai caramelised pear tart, and a Hong Kong milk tea mousse cake - all of which were great, and the latter two blew us away. Not too sweet, the flavours were complex and perfectly balanced, and they had a nice variety of textures. The coffee lived up to the baked goods, they clearly know their roasting, and a flat white was particularly delicious. My only word of caution - the other drinks were disappointing. A matcha latte used both low quality matcha (it looked brown and swamp like, rather than the vibrant green it should be) and was very weak, which mean that it mostly tasted of the milk. A chai latte was even worse - it was acrid from whatever syrup/concentrate they’re using, and cinnamon was the only discernible other flavour. I couldn’t finish it. It’s disappointing to see a cafe that clearly takes its other products seriously to have such a miss on these. Particularly when the flavours are used so well in their cakes! The service was good, and the staff were dealing very well with a very busy Saturday. I will absolutely be back, and I’m looking forward to trying one of their toasties. I do hope they’ll look to improve in the few areas they fell short.

Good location. Disappointing that they offer only one type of white bread fir their toasties. The cola is a brand I've never heard of and the diet version was flat and sweeter than normal diet cola. Nice coffee.

🇬🇧 Hong Kong pastry chef in charge of exquisite desserts 🍰️ I took a train for half an hour to visit a friend, and after a long conversation, my friend took him to a cafe where the editor wanted to go, and we went to have a birthday tea together 🤗 ☕️ CAPPUCCINO (8oz) 😋😋😋😋 Every time I see a cappuccino with latte art here🇬🇧, I will be pleasantly surprised 😁 The coffee is fragrant and the milk is smooth. The milk froth does not last long, but the taste is still there~ 🍰 Lemon Cheese Cake 😋😋😋😋😋 The chamomile-shaped cake has a lemon scent, sour and sweet, and I will want to eat it again and again~ The cream is so thick and slippery after eating it 👍🏻 There is also a little edible gold foil, so thoughtfully made! Afternoon tea 💶💶 Approximately £9/person 💁🏻‍♀️ We arrived at around one o’clock in the afternoon and there were already a lot of people in the store 😲 My friend estimated that most people would come for lunch~ The cafe has two floors, with floor-to-ceiling glass for light transmission and a view of the lake. Found in a little area by the canal, home to some locals who live on boats. There is no specific parking, so we parked along the road, as a lot of others did. The cafe has inside and outside seating areas, with upstairs seating too. There is a beautiful relaxing view over the canal. Do note, due to the angle of the outside seating later in the afternoon, it's in the shade. The cakes were very nice indeed, as were the drinks, although the cups could have been more generous for the cost. It wasn't the cheapest at £20 for two cakes and two drinks. Dog friendly, too. The whole area is very busy and very popular, especially in the summer months, so do consider this before making a special journey.

Though coffee is slightly above average but it is such a lovely place for delicacies can't be found elsewhere in MK as of today. Good jobs!

Ordered a birthday cake only 1 day in advance but the quality was as good as ever. This was the 3rd time I have ordered a cake there in the last 12 months. Never let me down. The cafe is also a wonderful place to enjoy a coffee with some food.

I visited this cafe 04/Feb, was really excited from the pictures/aesthetic and the reviews however was left disappointed when we were greeted with a patronising server with bad customer service who took my order wrong so I recieved the wrong order. The coffee was great but the disorganisation and the attitude from the guy that took our order is off-putting.

As usual, coffee is really good, even Matcha tea is really good. Food options are all good. more or less tried all menu in last years. My motivation to come here is for coffee but my family's motivation is Matcha and all amazing food either toasties or sweet masterpieces.

The food, drink and atmosphere is great, you really won’t be let down and I’m a returning customer but parking seems to be really limited so make sure you park in a proper space. We parked on a nearby road and came back to a PCN despite no red/yellow lines or any nearby signage present prohibiting parking.

Fantastic coffee, fantastic place and fantastic service. We sat upstairs and there is a selection of seating, large tables, high worktop like benches and 2 person tables. The food selection was good, the toasties menu was nice and the cankers and pastries were amazing. If I had one criticism, that was the selection for Kids. The cold drinks are all a bit "fancy", and my kids at least, don't like these kinds of things.

I visit canal street at least once a month. The coffee is good and the desserts are incredible. It’s a nice place to have a catchup with friends, quick coffee date and even a good place to come and work. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Also the views are incredible.

Best coffee around and delicious cakes and toasted sandwiches

Lovely place! We ordered a selection of things including; hot chocolate, chai latte, ham and cheese toastie, vanilla lava cheesecake, chocolate and raspberry mousse cake and pork and cranberry roll. The vanilla lava cheesecake was particularly good so would highly recommend that but didn't like the pork and cranberry roll, something just tasted slightly off about it but apart from that, would definitely visit again!

I am soooo grateful that you exist, Canal St Coffee. Your cakes are exactly on my taste. I love the fact that they are gluten free so I don't stress at all if i am allowed to eat or not:) some of the cakes (mango one) reminds me of my favourite Cafe in my years of London. but your version is the best :) Carrot cake-I can honestly say it's addictive,guys

Stumbled on this gem of a place after looking for a cafe in MK. Great location with views looking down on the canal and marina. Friendly staff, fab hot choc. Would have liked a larger selection of food options but otherwise can't fault the place, baristas or drinks.

Coffee is superb with a great selection of single origins to choose from. Cakes were also amazing and worth the visit alone. Will be back soon.

One of the best coffee houses in Milton Keynes. Just be careful about parking as pretty much nowhere to park that is close. Amazing views along the canal and always busy which is a good sign!

Looked for somewhere off the M1 whilst travelling London to Coventry and stumbled across this gem. So glad I did. Super lovely strong flat white. Opens early at 8am. Lovely area. Followed their parking instructions on Instagram which really helped!

Stopped here for a coffee and a muffin while walking along the canal. Was busy but not crowded with a good atmosphere. People working on laptops and groups of friends meeting for a chat. Very pleasant

I’ve been coming to cabal street for ages, the almond croissants are lovely, and the coffee is great. It really isn’t the destination it was due to the parking issues though There’s now no space for parking and there’s a hawkish parking company involved with the site, even if you think you’re parked and followed the instructions you aren’t and you’ll be ticketed. I just don’t go now which is a real shame.

Only really let down by the general lack of parking in the area, hopefully something that will be resolved when the development work is completed

A much needed coffee shop in Milton Keynes. Coffee is great, I love when they have cold brew, I was getting one every other day ! I do occasionally buy coffee beans here and I highly recommend it either for espresso or drip. Cakes are perfect! Staff are always friendly even when really busy, location is great too. Parking can be tricky.

Lovely place for a cake and a coffee, cup of tea, chat with friends, little 'me' time, get away from madness of life and just sit down and enjoy your favourite drink and something little to eat. The view is gorgeous, the atmosphere cosy, and staff very friendly.

A decent place highly recommend for a nice breakfast, I appreciate the kind smile from our host and that she explained to us about the Pina colada cake which I am planning to try in my next visit … my veggie toasty was nice and the cheesecake was delicious.

This is a lovely coffee shop with canal views. It has seating upstairs and downstairs with lots of hot drinks on offer as well as smoothies. The cakes and biscuits looked good, but I would have liked to see a lot more selection for the size of this place as it was very busy and had lots of seating. Parking was a little bit of an issue as there wasn't a lot around. However, I noticed in the shop there was a tabley where you can register your car to park.

Tiramisu was yummy and beautifully presented, dirty chai was sweet and full of flavour😊 Nice atmosphere, will be back!

It’s a great coffee shop with top quality coffee & incredible cakes but BEWARE the risk of parking fines. I’ve just received a £60 fine from CPM (reduced from £100 if I pay now) from visiting on Sept 18th & am dreading another from visiting two days later. There are signs relating to spaces for the Trek Bike shop & nearby residential apartments, but everywhere else is FREE of signage so it looks like you can park. It’s an illusion because you can’t. So enjoy that coffee because depending on where you put your car it might be the most expensive one you ever buy! Apparently there is car park available if you turn left on Glebe roundabout - the roundabout before Canalside.

Cute riverside cafe with coffees and desserts/small eats. My iced mocha was less chocolate -y than I prefer but it wasn't too sweet the raspberry mousse cake was to die for! That mousse was sooo smoothe and decadent. Love the ambiance next to the river and love the free wifi. The croissant was buttery and tasty! My nephew enjoyed it!

Gem of a place - lovely coffee, gorgeous cakes, sit in, out or down on the wharf wall - watching boats and swans go by - is a young cafe with a lot of promise - only issue is parking nearby but there are public carparks on Campbell park a short walk away. T. Sweetmap is a very talented baker. Df and Gf options available.

It's a lovely little cafe that serves nice coffees and it's in a nice location overlooking the marina at Campbell Wharf. My wife and I would come here most Saturdays and enjoy their selection of cakes and tasty sausage rolls, however.... It gets very busy as there aren't many places like this in Milton Keynes (shame on you Milton Keynes). So busy in fact, you wonder why they don't take the empty premises next door and make it a great, decent sized coffee joint with plenty of space. Unfortunately, we won't be coming here anymore as there's nowhere to park (a small array of spaces opposite trek cycles that are always full) and I unfortunately got a parking ticket last weekend which I'm refusing to pay, but MK council say it's clearly signposted (not in the slightest) that Campbell park is a red route or clearway so absolutely no parking on the massive roads that are more than capable of allowing cars to park on the sides... We might pop in if we're walking around Campbell park, but it won't be a destination anymore.

If you are a looking for high quality coffee and cake then look no further! I’ve been here a few times and tried a different cake each time. They are always delicious and made to a high standard. Top tip is to park across the canal in the car park of Warbler on the Wharf and walk across as parking is limited outside the coffee shop.

The coffee, food and bakery is beautiful, well priced for a cafe and great to support local. Wonderful location on the canal, great walks and views here. Dog friendly outside seating too. However parking is a nightmare and I got a ticket when visited. Be vigilant where to park. The cafe itself is clean, comfortable and staff are lovely. Definitely would return

Best Cafe in MK 🤍 amazing food and drink, always lovely service and the baked items are unmatched. Plenty of seating and a great place to work or meet a friend.

It has very tasty coffee, exceptional sweets, and amazing staff. But... because they are dog friendly, sometimes you will find dog fur on the chairs or tables, which is an issue for allergic persons or those having respiratory problems. Or even you can accidentally swallow or inhale dog hair.
