The setting is lovely , but the food is seriously disappointing for the price. Don’t expect well-executed bbq favourites here; the menu doesn’t even have slaw on it, and the ‘chopped salad’ is a sad pile of undressed raw onion, lettuce and cucumber. Hot dog rolls are of the soggy, basic white catering variety. No specialty sauces either. I was honestly taken aback by how little love and imagination had gone into the execution of the food when the setting is as lovely as it is. Fun for the novelty, but not one for foodies.

These 5 star reviews for food are from people who "cook" at home in an air fryer. The food is terrible (a common theme throughout Bluestone). Anyone who knows how to cook will agree, so approach with caution. The food quality has Wetherspoons written all over it. Location is OK and service was OK. To Bluestone: Hire some chefs!! This isn't 5 star quality. If Camp Smokey was an independent place outside of Bluestone, it'd be out of business.

A real let down. If you like BBQ food, you’re best off booking something else as this is not a dining experience but a music experience. For £30pp you get half a dry piece of chicken thigh, 1/4 of a sausage and 1/3 of a piece of pork belly and a teaspoon of beans - that’s poor, you get more than that for less in a BBQ place in central London! Staff had a poor attitude of it is what it is and the catering managers view was that it should be down to the guest to complain at the time that there isn’t enough food. Save your money on this, and take your family offsite to a proper restaurant offering a much better value for money experience.

Food is very basic nothing is actually smoked except the hotdog and food seems to be not cooked fresh but sat around would not recommend

Such a lovely place out in the woods, and acessible for everyone. Only down side is opening hours but not busy

Loved the idea of this but was such a disappointing lunchtime experience. Food was expensive, cold and poor quality. We bought the s’mores kit, again very expensive for what it is- not even real chocolate, chocolate sauce!

Nice spot, but the quality of the food simply is nowhere near where it should be for the price.

The Camp Smokey Shindig was the highlight of our Bluestone weekend. The fun started with a warm welcome from the legend that is Big John and ramped up throughout the evening with great food, thigh slapping fun, frolics and brilliant music. And it all ended in time to put the little ones to bed! Highly recommended. I'd have loved gelatin free marshmallows to toast as my kids are vegetarian and hearing a hearty Welsh rendition of Texas Holdem would have been hilarious, but cannot fault the evening, thank you!!

We booked it in advance thinking evening if singing dancing food. Felt like waking up in a blizzare dream. Booked for 5:30 have not seen food nor entertainment for 1h. Well if it was just adults that would be ok however 2 kids (hungry) kept asking where is dinner. So felt stressed and disappointed. Smoky is open to elements so dress up warm. Food in winter months will go cold in no time as well. Not impressed.

The entertainment is totally first class, likewise the staff. BUT…you have to sort the food guys, it’s so poor. Sadly this is the case for much of the resort food, hugely let’s down a truly amazing place.

We went to Camp Smokey for the Shindig and it was the best evening of our visit to Bluestones. The staff at Camp Smokeys are amazing, so full of energy and interact with all the guests. The atmosphere during the Shindig was amazing. Everyone is encouraged to get up and dance on their chairs and make as much noise. Our 3 year old absolutely loved the chanting and singing. Within minutes everyone was up and joining it. They even provided noise canceling headphones for our 1 year old who found it over whelming. The food isn't the best, but was fine for what you pay, they also had spares so gave out seconds to whoever wanted them. Finished the evening with roasting marshmallows. A great evening and totally recommend!!

Last two times, batter so thick, it was uncooked inside, so couldn't eat the fish. Such a waste!

Went to the middlegate cafe today with my partner. Had a lovely meal, freshly cooked. The owner was very friendly and we had a nice chat with him. Will call again next time we visit. Thank you.

I ordered food from Foodhub from Dragon Pearl before and have had to chase up orders. However today was the worst. It took more than two hours and two phone calls before my meal arrived. I live a five minute drive from the takeaway. After 90 minutes I called and was told it’s on the way. I phoned again after 2 hours and was told the same thing. It eventually arrived a few minutes later with no apology. Hopeless!
