Only had a portion of chips, glad that's all I ordered because they ended up in the bin. Brown in colour because the oil hadn't been changed. Disgusting taste. Don't waste your money.

The reviews of this place definitely needs boosting! Had a portion of chips, which were VERY good - not stale or dry, but crispy and tasty! The chips here stand out from other chip shops and well worth the visit. No queues, unlike the packed chip shop down the road, where the food was more expensive and didn't look as good. Chips were made fresh, staff were lovely and offered us a seat with my puppy whilst we waited. However, interior isn't wonderful and the individual pots of sauces need to go in the fridge!

We’ve used this place for 20 years with no complaints. Yesterday our fish and chips were shocking! As a previous reviewer said, the chips seemed as if they were cooked the day before and the fish was quite honestly, the worse one ever from anywhere. Thick, horrible batter enough to crack your teeth with a tiny sliver of fish inside. Dreadful. £12.50 for one potion! Just checked hygene rating and it’s a 1!!!😱 Never again.😡.

I've never written a review for a chip shop before and could never imagine having to write a bad one! I thought chip shops were all pretty much the same...how wrong I was! I've eaten here before but have to wonder whether it's changed hands. The chips were a really strange brown colour and it was the smallest portion I've ever been served at any chip shop. The fish was also the smallest and worst I've ever been served. The system for actually giving people their orders is fundamentally flawed and like nothing I have witnessed. All this on a Friday night when you'll wait at least 45 minutes for your food.

Cold mushy peas. Plenty of food on the tray. Tables needed wiping. Toilet disgusting.

Quick to take orders. Very busy at times with long queues waiting inside.

This used to be a nice chip shop. Absolutely disgusting now. Food rating of 1, we only seen this on way out as it’s hidden behind the door! If you value your life - go somewhere else

Cash only! My order was taken, only to be told that they did not take card payment. I was sent off to Tesco and returned with cash, only to have to re-make my order (which was slightly irritating). We had large chips, cod, small chips and curry sauce, it came to over £17!! So not cheap by any standards. Luckily the food was very good. The chips were really tasty and the Fish and batter were very good, hence the 4 stars. I would probably go elsewhere next time though, likely into Tenby to 'Oh my Cod'.

This has been our holiday choice for fish and chips for over 20yrs, but not anymore. The fish was thin in greasy batter and the chips looked like yesterdays reheated, brown greasy and utterly inedible. What a waste of money. I will never go there again. The new owners need to learn how to cook.

Came here for a family order of fish and chips. Prices were good and the chips were okay! Could have been a bit crunchier. I asked for a jumbo sausage and somehow ended up with two (which we were charged for) not the end of the world but I did say 1 jumbo sausage and chips. Made the dog happy though! The atmosphere was dead inside, not like I expect a chippy to be a scene from Ibiza. But there was no music, no noise, nothing. So it was just a bit awkward

The food is good atmosphere feels dull and the service was soo slow it taken 6 minutes to make 4 portions of food

Tried to sell us re -heated chips brown and greasy. Had our money back. Best chippy in Saunders foot? obviously no competition.

Visited in Aug 22 and found the staff to be friendly and quick. Cod and chips were well cooked and wrapped in a cardboard tray and paper. This was our second visit to Saundersfoot and we wanted to compare this chip shop to the expensive one by the harbour car park. I didn’t give the expensive one a 5 star review.

I had a battered sausage and others in my party had cod, the sausage and fish was ok however the batter was terrible, have never seen batter like this before, it was like uncooked cake mix. The chips were ok too.

Just ordered via food hub for delivery. Speedy delivery chips were excellent other items spot on. Would order again.

On holiday. Very expensive, food was a very small portion, young woman was very rude when i complained about the size of meal. I had already paid upfront.

Paid for chips and a sausage with a 20 pound note and only got 50p change because she said they didn't have any change. Next day I had food poisoning, please avoid.

Went to this chip shop as the other one is to expensive, the man who served me was friendly and welcoming, chips were supreme, but the sausage was a bit soggy and dry, but overall very good chip shop

These chips were the best chips I've tasted in a long while. I opted for a chip butty and the roll was fresh amd served in a quirky oven pan which made it a nicer experience. My partner had curry sauce to die for and my son was too full from the chips so left us the sausage in batter which I have to say, mot usually a fan but was amazing. The batter was so lovely and crispy amd not greasy at all. A proper chippy. 👌

Disgusting food my husband was served scraps of chips. Food was dropped on the floor and a huge debate was had with staff whether or not they should pick it up. the chips we did have tasted disgusting. Will never visit again. Rude, disgusting food and bad atmosphere.

Ordered a lunchtime takeaway fish and chips, and a battered sausage. The chips were a bit soggy and tasteless but the fish and battered sausage were ok. Also it only takes cash which was a little frustrating and customer service wasn't great.

To start with it was cash only. The fish and chips were very poor and nowhere near what seaside fish and should taste like. It was served in wax coated boxes that made everything sweat and soggy. I will not be going there again avoid

I have used this fish shop for 10 years today I noticed new people thought nothing of it ordered my2 fish 1 chips when I got home the chips were disgusting they looked liked left overs warmed up and tasted like them as well I’m never going there again completely changed fishshop you won’t get any worse than this place

The fish and pie we had were very nice, but the chips were old chips just dipped in the hit fat and were horrible.

First time we have been since new owners took over and the last, terrible service 25 minutes for 2 portions of chips and they weren't worth it. Would not recommend anyone eats here and only two staff on a bank holiday!! and they were slow

The worst chippie n Wales? It has to be up there. A shambolic serving system that keeps customers waiting ages even when the shop is quiet. The owners and staff are foreign and have no idea of manners and etiquette to the point rudeness. The food is overpriced and average. Avoid this place at all costs.

Well, we had fish and chips a few years when we were down this area, and not good, we called back this week and had 6 meals that were bloody lovely best for a long time to be honest. Our food was freshly cooked, a bit of a wait, but lovely, wont say bad as I cant

Chips were really disappointing - it tasted as though the oil had been used to cook Churros or something sweet prior to the chips. It was a shame as the service, location and price point are unrivalled in the town - just need to make sure the oil for sweet and savoury is kept separate.

It's definitely the worst fish & chips shop I ever been in staff haven't got a clue was informed when I ordered my fish cake and chips there was a twenty five minute wait it was Easter weekend so thought ok have to wait but thought when it finally turned up after 30 minutes it would be great but no luck fish cake was stone cold and chips were over cooked stay clear of place you have been warned shame I can't give it no star or I would.

Placed an order of 3 cod and chips,1 fish bites and chips 1 pie and chips, was told it would be 25 minutes, not a problem it was Good Friday and very busy. Chased up the order after 35 minutes and told it would be a further 5 minutes for the fish bites again no problem it was very busy. Got the order 10 minutes later got home to discover no fish bites, very poor chips all round 1 cod just about edible the other 2 bare minimum of fish and batter that would stop a bullet. Returned the bullet proof cod which was refunded and also refunded the missing cod bites. Will not be returning although to be fair the staff were friendly and polite.

The best fish and chips in Wales worth the wait and excellent value for money. If you are in the saundersfoot/Tenby area give it a visit.

Often call here for chips but I feel it's getting overpriced and below quality. There are now better places to eat in Saundersfoot, so they need to raise their game.

Shall portions, over priced and the chips are below average. You guys really need to do better if you're charging that much for a bag of chips.

Absolutely the worst fish and chips I ever had - went straight in the bin. The fish was supposed to be cod but was small and grey looking and had bones throughout. I took one bite that was full of bones and threw the fish away. Tried the chips which were dry and shrivelled and tasted awful. They followed the fish to the bin. The others with me persevered through their fish and chips but did not enjoy them. Only one other encountered bones so don't know what was with my fish! If this is the standard of fish and chips this place serves, can't understand how it has any good reviews.

I called in today for the first time in ages I ordered 2 chips 2 sausage in batter & 2 gravy...& I was very disappointed it was terrible the chips were full of bits where the oil needs changing! The batter was soggy & greasy with black bits on & the sausage wasn't cooked ..what a waste of money I should of just thrown the £10.80 in the bin! I will certainly not return.

It was our first time getting fish and chips from here and we certainly weren't disappointed. The cod was massive and the chips were delicious, as was the side of curry sauce. Plus it was really reasonably priced. Will definitely be using this place again.

Great fish and chip shop. Chips were crisp and not all soggy It was cash only when we visited - not sure if that's always the case but it's worth getting cash out for.

Terrible tonight. Fish had so many bones in it was practically inedible, the batter was thick and still raw in places. Chips were undercooked, and the mushy peas were full of suspect brown bits. It was truly appalling. We were one of the last customers to be served at 6.45 as they had to close as they had run out of chips, otherwise I would have taken it back and asked for a refund.

I have been here a few times when visiting Saundersfoot, the chips are not the best I have tasted, but are usually of a reasonable standard, the fish was nice, good thickness, and well cooked in a batter that was slightly too thick but not too greasy. The shop itself is minimalist, and clean and often fish is cooked to order so you may have to wait 5 minutes, the staff look clean and efficient.

I will eat almost anything but these chips are dire. Then wrapped so tight the white slugs IE chips became a cannonball of crushed grease. We ate a few and binned them. Staff were tidy just don't know how to fry chips. Portion size was very good. Just a shame they were so bad.

Chose this fish and chip shop after reading other reviews - we were not disappointed! Happy to stand in the queue (much longer than the other f+c shops) and were glad we did!

Came here yet again in August 2021 and again the chips were to die for. We came back several times over the week we were here... Best fish and chips in the area. The skin on fish review on here is clearly from someone unused to eating fish. Chips are good. Fish is good although batter lets it down a little. Have had takeaway from here several times and always good. Never had a sit down meal so can't comment. Pies are excellent.

Friendly staff (always remember us when we visit and always make a special fuss of my son, which he loves). The food is the best in the area and there's nothing better than chips at the seaside. Reasonable prices for fabulous food.

Literally the worst place weve ever been. Chips taste like they were cooked in 6month old oil, was told we couldnt have battered sausage because they'd run out and only had normal sausages....in a chippy....with a fryer...lol utterly madness. Thankfully the staff didnt charge us for the 3 adult meals we all left so this isnt a knock on the staff as they were great but the food is an absolute disgrace

We regularly eat at the Argosy and have never been disappointed. It’s not just fish and chips, we sometimes have a roast chicken Sunday lunch and a pudding. We find it much better value for money than eating elsewhere. Tuesday 9th October 2018 We called into our favourite fish bar today. We weren’t disappointed with the fish and chip meal and the staff service was very good as usual.

Went to Argosy for takeaway fish and chips, young lad very rude who served. Ordered food and covered in salt and vinger ignoring when we ask for none and shrugged it off. Then had an incomplete order and to far to go back to complain. Needs a lesson in customer service. However food was lovely and fish was delicious, you were just let down by the service.
