Came for a midweek brunch pick me up, and in all honesty I wanted a bit of a nose at the cookery school! The cafe is small but bright and airy, and really peaceful and quiet as it's tucked away at the back of the Homerton campus. A couple of students were studying on laptops, and there was a class going on next door. Really nice atmosphere (but was a little chilly by the door!) My turkish eggs were spectacular, perhaps best that I've had! Perfect balance of tanginess, creaminess, and a bit of heat. They had a gorgeous display of sweets on offer - I was too full to buy one today but I will definitely be popping in to get a treat next time I'm in the Hills Road area. There's no parking on-site but the Cambridge leisure park is a short walk away. Will definitely visit again!

This hidden gem of a Café is a relaxing place to have a breakfast or a late brunch, especially when it’s hot outside. I didn’t have the chance to taste everything they offer but everything I had was delicious and well prepared with fresh ingredients. Celine, the new manager is also an asset to this place, very committed in what she does; she will take care of you in a friendly way and make sure you have a pleasant stay. I passed by a few times during my summer holidays and I’ll come back for sure!

Best place if you wanna have a very expensive , very small portion and bellowe average quality breakfast or brunch. Also Cold atmosphere. The staff at the till was very polite but when we could not cut with the knife the trace of pancakes they served us the Chef came out and was kind of arguing with us about the pancakes saying " I really do not know what happened and they are so hard" and i am like " who should know??". And then when we complaint about the portions the argument was even more obvious. We got refound for the pancakes but honestly i can think of 10 other palces in cambridge were you can have amazing breakfast, biggest portion, lower prices without an argument. We payed 47 GBP for 3 adults and a baby.

Phenomenally flavorful, creative dishes prepared and served by a warm, welcoming staff. A diversity of pastries, cakes, salads, and savory bites trickle out of the kitchen starting at 9am -- from berry rolls and orange carrot cake to omelette triangles and ham and cheese scones. The longer you stay, the more there is to try! Rotating Scandinavian- and Middle East-inspired bistro meals are listed on the blackboard daily, with options such as a Swedish breakfast fry-up, Turkish eggs, and sourdough breakfast sandwiches. Standouts include the subtle, pillowy cinnamon roll, melt-in-your-mouth brownie, and buttery croissant dough tart filled with zesty lemon curd. The space itself is beautiful, managing to be both warm and airy at the same time; it's clear how much attention to detail is paid, here, as candles and fresh cut flowers pepper the cafe, and artfully-plated dishes with pops of white powdered sugar or deep red balsamic sit behind the counter for you to feast your eyes upon. Most importantly: the lovely staff make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Teresa, in particular, is exceptionally warm and caring, remembering customers' regular orders, asking after friends, and going out of her way to make your stay as memorable as possible. Truly a must-visit! ---- Anyone interested in specific foods: Absolutely stupendous cinnamon roll. Not drenched in any sort of syrup or icing, but rather the pillowy dough is moistened with a buttery cinnamon swirl throughout. Pearl sugar topping provides a lovely crunch and burst of sweetness to an otherwise mellow cinnamon flavor. The pancakes come in a small, silver dollar sized stack of three. While the dough was quite dense, this allowed it to stand up well against the bold, sour acidity of a generous berry compote. Lightly vanilla'd ricotta mousse provided a luscious creaminess to balance the dish. Overall, I felt the pancakes lacked a more robust sweetness to counter the delicious, boldly sour compote -- perhaps some molasses-y brown sugar worked into the dough itself. Though I prefer my pancakes a bit lighter than the lovely dense rounds offered at the cafe, I still enjoyed them. And the fudge brownie! My heart be still. It was ultra moist and fudge-y -- melting in my mouth with the texture of a properly rich fudge, but with a crumbly, cracking top crust that perfectly offsets the melt in your mouth base. The croissant-base tart with lemon curd showcased the imagination and perfect pastry execution of the Cafe's chef. The crust maintained its buttery, chewy nature, cut perfectly by the sweet-sour of the creamy curd. A sprinkling of fresh blueberries on top provided a textural pop while adding a layer of sweetness. The coffee was of high quality and my flat white was quite well executed. I'd certainly stop by whenever I'm in the mood for a nice coffee!

I visited once before lock down. The food was really lovely here, and we were there for a late lunch, which meant that there was room to sit, but the food was a little tired from having been prepared and sat on plates for a couple of hours. I would say next time we would plan to go earlier and have food that was more freshly prepared. But the food was certainly tasty, and I look forward to another visit.

Now that Mark Poynton is cooking on a Friday and Saturday night at the cookery school, it has been great to have the chance to eat his food again and to see him cook every dish too! We had the Saturday five course tasting menu on our first trip and every dish was delicious. Flavours were deep but the dishes were never heavy so the overall balance of courses was just right. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, and service was excellent. The wine list is short but well put together. We subsequently have tried the Friday night a la carte menu - equally good!

Fabulous cooking experience. This is an amazing place. 24 of us went for our work Xmas adventure. It was a truly fun cooking afternoon and evening. It started with being greeted with prosecco, followed by teams of us cooking a festive Italian feast. The staff topped our drinks, gave us top tips on focaccia, pasta and panacotta making. We laughed the whole time. The menu was well planned to hone our skills and the ingredients were fresh and interesting, I could honestly say a more fun xmas work "do" we all agreed we had never had. Once cooked we sat down to enjoy our creation with an excellent selection of wine. Nothing was too much trouble, they helped where necessary, a super bunch of ladies. I cannot recommend this experience enough. After the whole event we relaxed into the evening. They do have Friday night food and drinks I believe and it was packed all night, with a great atmosphere. A fun enjoyable time had by all and we left with recipes and a new set of skills. Tremendous.

Drinks pleasant but nothing special. Food overpriced (e.g. £9 at lunchtime for a focaccia sandwich is an example of overpriced Cambridge pretentiousness) and no reason for pickled capsicum rather than fresh. Service very slow - more than 10 minutes to be served a coffee and already prepared cold sandwich isn't good enough

This is such a delightful cafe! It is not one of the national chains and I love that . I love its uniqueness, friendliness, space, bright simplistic decor and the courteous along with the professionalism of the staff working there. I had been eyeing the Cambridge Cookery School cafe for a while now and finally made it there for breakfast last weekend and I was not disappointed! I had the fruit bread with ricotta and poached fruit and it was so satisfying! The staff were friendly and attentive and you weren't rushed to leave. Very family and animal friendly. I guess the only thing is that although they do accommodate people working there on their laptops (they have power sockets), it can get rather noisy especially on a Saturday late morning when the families come out to brunch. So do bear that in mind if you're looking for somewhere quiet to work. I'm definitely coming back and am so pleased to find an independent cafe to hang out in!

This place is fantastic. My bridesmaids organised my surprise hen do at the Cambridge Cookery School and the whole day was wonderful. The staff were friendly, helpful and just the right amount of attentive - leaving us to get along with cooking and having fun while also keeping us on cooking track. The food was wonderful - super tasty and lots of it! There was also plenty of Prosecco flowing - just what we needed for a hen party! It was great when the benches we used for cooking were turned into a full table to seat all 20 of us! We were able to take away our recipes to make at home and some us have already tried making pasta to great success! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun filled, educational and fabulous day out. Thank you! :)

Such a great cookery school. They have a lot of different courses and the learning offer covers a great variety of foods. And that is what they do best: food and teaching how to prepare it in an easy and entertaining way. You get to prepare the dishes while the teachers assist you, that way you really learn the process. The school and classes are held by a lovely stuff and everything is carefully taken care of. They also do private celebrations or corporate evens. A great spot in Cambridge city life.

I like this hotel and always choose to stay here when I can afford it when I am in Cambridge for business. The location is ideal for walking to places in the old part of Cambridge, and there are e-scooters and e-bikes for rental just across the road which make it easy to explore further afield. The start are very polite. My room was large with a comfortable bed; however the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective and it was difficult to get the room at a comfortable temperature, and the hot water wasn’t quite hot enough for a bath. The room rate has become rather expensive (nearly £200 for 1 person B&B plus £28 per night for parking) and at these prices I would expect a flawless luxury room. They really need to consider replacing the aging a/c units. Restaurant is expensive. Breakfast is quite good.
