Calverton Balti in Gedling

Was given an estimate of time for delivery, no updates then all boxes ticked and said delivered at 18:35 which was when it was scheduled. 1 call and a text and it arrived cold at 19:10. The food was not only cold but actually pretty bland. 2nd attempt at ordering from here, last time was cancelled after order acceptance by the restaurant, for no reason.

Not had a curry for a while and this was spot on and very good service

Terrible service, small portions and the staff are unintelligent, rude and deluded. It used to be amazing years ago. After the attitude we received from the guy on the phone after complaining about portion size myself or none of my family will be using this place again. That's 5 family's in the village. To the owner increase your portions and get some decent staff because your buisness is undoubtedly goes to ruin. employ decent , human being not idiots with absolutely zero understanding about buisness and customer service

The food was really nice! also I didn't order popperdoms but we recieved 2 of them! The curries themselves were delicious, got a lot of chicken as well! We had a garlic and tomato naan and a cheese and garlic naan they were lovely! Looking forward to our next order with you guys, thank you for the great food. And the food came around 10 minutes so that was good!

Apparently this is the new portion size for a £3 portion of chips. A handful of cold chips, with staff having no interest in whether something has gone wrong, simply saying ‘that’s the new size’ without being able to see it.

Got a message saying they weee going to be delayed but weren’t. Food was still hot and all lovely. Got free poppadoms. Only ordered mains, rice and breads but all were lovely. Will order from here again

5 years ago this used to be the most amazing food, quality an value for money, used to get plenty of food. Now however, after trying it last night, the menus were wrong, even though I collected one earlier that day. The food was bland, watery, no spice and has made us both feel unwell this morning, which never used to happen. The sauces were severely watered down to the point they almost had no flavour, Also chuckney is supposed to have chunks in not be a mango drizzle. Very disappointed considering I'd told people it used to be so nice. Won't be using them again.

Really.enjoyed the chum chum and rogan josh, nan was fresh and lamb was so tender in both curries. Can't wait to order again!

Lamb Rogan Josh, butter chicken and pilau rice. Tender delicious and cooked to perfect. Good quality meat, arrived hot and on time.

Rice was tasteless and other meals beyond the spice of any other Indian I have eaten just not up to standards won't be returning

Just moved to Calverton and still unpacking. Placed order, food arrived quickly and the standard was excellent. One the best Indian takeaways I’ve had in a long time!

Unfortunately, we order again. Spent nearly £30 to get a watery korma and 2 starters that were over cooked. We only tried it out as it was under new management but clear to see they don’t know what they are doing. Shame Calverton doesn’t have a decent Indian takeaway still. Avoid this place if you can, unless you want to pay for food you won’t enjoy and still be hungry after it.

Food was lovely as usual and as a bonus the food arrived only 15 minutes or so after ordering, bonus!

Tasty food but arrived cold, popadoms were soft - we microwaved the food. The delivery guy was very polite.

First orders of the day but maybe last on delivery route. Not as hot as would like. £50 and needed To be warmer. Taste, texture and flavour was good but lost in the cool food temp.

Have eaten from here on a few occasions and have enjoyed it, but today seemed under par! The Tikka Masala was very runny and my Chum Chum was of a mild spice unusually! Other than that it was all good!

COLD! gutted to leave this review as we love this take-away and staff but all of the food was cold, cold chips, cold nan , cold curry, cold rice, cold starter! Rogan Josh - they do a great one! The kebab in the mixed starter was tough and dry and the popadom (1) for 2 people was smashed! Honestly gutted as we’re a regular and pay good money. Cold food is rank and we only love minutes away.

These do the BEST Rogan Josh, full of garlic, fresh coriander super tasty always have lovely food from here and the staff / delivery guy are lovely and friendly.

Always a great service. Always delivered on time & food is just lovely - full of flavour, garlic, onions and fresh coriander. I love the salad you get with it too - the Rogan Josh is amazing!

I have had takeaways from the Balti several times and it is usually very good but on this occasion, while the main meals were fine the onion bhaji and poppadoms tasted a bit stale as if they had been reheated. This won't put me off using the place again as I hope this was just a blip with their usual excellence.

we spent £28 on a tika starter and two lamb mains. There was hardly any meat in the currys and what meat was there was riddeled with fat. phoned up and they said there should be 8 pieces lol waste of time and money. wont be going again. much better value elsewhere

Had a curry delivered only to find the rice was missing, called them up to let them know & was told “Mains don’t come with rice” I said “oh, they usually do” I was then bluntly told “Well they don’t” & he immediately hung up on me! I completely understand menus change but there is no excuse for this kind of service after they’ve received payment. Not sure if they’re under new management as the portions were smaller than usual & the popadoms were soggy. Due to the rotten attitude of the bloke on the phone, I won’t be using them again.

Disappointed this time. I’ve been ordering from Calverton Balti for years (nearly 15). In the last year, their prices have sky-rocketed, no longer include rice with Main dishes (and it’s £3.00 per portion). Delivery is £4.50 on top. I’ve always had complimentary popadoms with my previous orders - didn’t get any in this order, and the mango chutney was as runny as water. Sadly it doesn’t represent as good value for money as it used to. The curries are good, but good enough to command nearly £10 (without rice or bread) for some meals…? I’m not so sure.

First time in ages ordering from here but was really disappointed. The food didn’t seem fresh, rice seemed like it had been sitting in the container a while, chicken pakora was just batter and veg instead of chunks of chicken and the mint yoghurt had split and tasted off. Only saving grace was that the chicken bhuna was actually nice and tasty.

Driver was bang on time , called me as requested as I was on a caravan site and needed to go to the gate to collect from him , food was good , well packed and all arrived hot well presented and packed and would most definitely use again

Food was appalling. The prawns were the size of shrimps and the sauce was chillie hot which it shouldn't have been. The worst Indian meal I've ever had. Binned it! My advice.......don't bother. Very expensive too.

The food was really poor quality and left me very disappointed especially for the cost. The Bhaji’s were dry, the Samosas greasy and the vegetable curry was basically just curried potatoes - very unimaginative! Delivery cost was also very expensive at £4:50 I won’t be ordering again

What a cracking chicken rogan Josh, absolutely love this dish and they get it just right with the spice, ordered the lamb tikka starter for a change and have to say it was really tough and chewy so much so that we couldn’t eat it so was a little disappointed and not their usual standard.
