The owners and staff are the friendliest people. I felt welcome the moment I stepped in and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone in Altrincham!

We went for a late dessert. Great aperol spritz with a twist and amazing chocolate brownie with ice cream and strawberry. 😋 Yummy

California Coffee is a home from home. The coffee, the breakfasts, the lunches, the wine, the cocktails, , the dinner, the special events are all wonderful and bring a delicious ray of Californian sunshine to my busy day! Best of all the staff are incredible and can’t do enough for you, your kids and dogs!!! Diana and Justin somehow manage to find the best of the best to embody their same exceptionally professional, warm, fun, friendly ‘kick ass energy’ regardless whose on the shift… from James, Luke, Jess, Seb, Zahra, and Alex from the old crew to Josh. Tommy, Julian, Mike, Mary, Ben, James, Wren, Emma & Grainne now….they all have that Midas touch of making great coffee and fabulous conversation…. Morning, noon & night…. If you’ve not tried it yet…. You really are in for a treat! Thanks guys!

Loved this place for years! The owners remembered not only my name but often of guests I would bring only occasionally. Altrincham is a better place for their sunny Californian disposition. Fab social events and delicious food too!

Cali Cowboy breakfast actually comes with THREE massive sausages none of this one sausage jobs at other gaffs. You come away full and the food is just outrageous. Not to mention they’re all sound humans too. Thanks for having us again gang Ps, your banana bread is banging!

Please can you open a California in Angus Scotland? I don't live in Altrincham so it's a bit of an inconvenience to drive 5 hours for good coffee and Beverley Hills eggs! 🥚🥚🍳

the owners manipulate and lie to the employees and don't pay them overtime. awful place to work for. owners are going on holidays while employees have to wait a year to be paid off owed money.

Delicious breakfast we've had here! Ordered breakfast burrito and a Cali eggs benedict with chorizo. Both were really tasty, huge portions and well presented. James was brilliant looking after us. Highly recommended!

My son and I went for breakfast on Sunday, it was terrific. The service from James was genuine and friendly. Our order was taken promptly and the food arrived beautifully cooked and plenty of it. It was delicious, really lovely. Thank you for an excellent experience all round.

Have you tried biodynamic coffee? Well here is you chance. California Coffee in Altrincham serve a lovely flat white alongside some really good brunch options. I was torn between 'The Beverley Hills' and the 'San Diego Salmon'. On recommendation of our server I went with The Beverley Hills. 2 poached eggs, feta, smashed avocado, sweetcorn & red onion Pico, crispy shallots + pickled onions all served on Sourdough. No fancy presentation, flavour combination worked very well. Alot of crunch & freshness. Personally for me I would have preferred the eggs softer as one was almost fully poached and this particular sour dough is very crisp. I wasn't expecting that. My husband got 'THE DON BREAKFAST BURRITO' A flour tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, coriander, chilli jam, crispy onions & cheddar. He also added halloumi for extra protein 💪. Served with a side of tortilla chips. He really enjoyed his burrito, it was very much sweet & savoury style which made it different. Very filling as well. With great ambience and friendly service it's definitely a Brunch place to visit. My next choice would be the San Diego Salmon or B's French Toast 🤩

I wrmt to California restaurant with my 9 year old daughter for a coffee and a hot chocolate. The cups were very small and overpriced. The main problem was the continual swearing my 2 members of staff in the kitchen , they were making the food. My daughter could hear the F words streamin from the kitchen, we were sat in the upstairs part of the restaurant which is closer to the kitchen. I will never visit again, we paid up and got out ASAP.

Absolutely fabulous. I invited colleagues from out of the area, they absolutely LOVED the place, the coffee was very special (all coffee drinkers) and the breakfast top marks. They were so impressed, they'll be returning very soon. Great vibe , relaxing and so welcoming.

1st time and will repeat!. Menu was not too overloaded but options looked quite nice. I ordered The Don Breakfast Burrito and it was absolutely yummy!. Put the chilli jam to the side as I wasn’t sure if it was going to be too spicy but not at all, the waitress kindly requested it for me. My friend had the Cali Eggs Benedict that you can see on the picture. For drinks I had the Passionfruit Iced Black Tea and again, incredible!. Will recommend 100%!

Great service, and options for brunch! My match a was cold, apart of this all good, with GF options and variety of things to choose from. Very busy, better book, tables are not so spacious, very narrow.

We all enjoyed our coffee and breakfast and found it hard to choose from a great selection of enticing dishes. Delicious food, a cosy atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommended!

We’ve visited here loads of times before as we live in the area and this has always been our favourite. But the last few times we’ve been, the service has been poor. On our visit today, we waited 45 mins without food without anyone coming to check if we were okay/wanted anything else to drink. We lended up having to ask where our food was where it turned out there was an ‘internet issue’ that had caused our order not to be put through. We were assured the order would come to us urgently but it was another 20 mins before it arrived, and 5 mins before it did, we heard the waitress asking where it was as she’d put it through as urgent and was unsure why it hadn’t come. Such a shame, we’re put off coming again - food was lovely as always but just not great customer service. We left feeling a bit put out, especially when we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip as we were paying! I’m afraid we didn’t this time round.

Yummy brunch - could have eaten everything on the menu. Ran from Stretford to meet friends - we sat outside in the back area which was perfect to cool down. I ordered a buffet of drinks - pressed apple juice and tasty black coffee. I had a chocolate croissant followed by the cobb salad - perfect balance and the dressing really brought it all together. Other members of the group had the brekkie, burritos and pancakes. No one left hungry or disappointed. Owners and waiters really friendly and right level of attentiveness. Great way to spend part of your weekend.

Our third trip today after experiencing fabulous food the last two times and despite not even knowing that they served up a Subday lunch this was our choice today. We eaten in hundreds of different places over the years and tried numerous Sunday lunches but this today was absolutely exceptional...the veg, including cauliflower cheese (which is normally an extra in other places) was the tastiest I've eaten in a while. The large Yorkshire pudding, the gravy, just everything was an absolute delight. By far the best Sunday lunch we've had locally in a long time and we will definitely be back very soon. Service was fab, quick and easy to order and the staff all super friendly. I would recommend this Sunday lunch to anyone who likes tasty well presented food in a great atmosphere. Thanks guys you are an incredible asset to our beautiful town 😊

A regular - staff are so friendly and helpful. The menu has enough variety for all and they are always obliging to make requested changes . The only reason it’s not a 100% is the nature of the building which makes it all a touch dark but it doesn’t stop us going back

Went for a casual lunch and not impressed. Positives: Staff were friendly and helpful and coffee good. Negatives: We both ordered quesadillas. There was no cheese, very little chicken and it wasn’t really seasoned, instead relying on the jalapeños. So disappointing! Much better options at this price point nearby for food.

Came here for speciality coffee but we had burnt coffee instead of that. And we ordered 3 waffles and they brought 3 pancakes instead of that. They insist on giving that pancakes. Thank you.

Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere and fantastic breakfasts. Get the sweet and smoky pancakes with two eggs and you can thank me later. The owner and staff are extremely friendly, and really contribute to a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

This is an issue on service, rather than the food. Visited today (03/06/23), for my wife (I was not eating) to have a breakfast Burrito brunch, as we have eaten there before and previously enjoyed it. Sadly, the wrong meal was put on the table, which we immediately queried. Our waitress decided we must both be wrong on the order and "MUST" pay the full amount. The concept that the waitress may have made a mistake on a busy Saturday morning, was immediately discounted, as not possible (The 2 meals were in the similar position, but on different sides of the menu) . The 3 options given to us: (1) Buy a 2nd meal (for one person to eat !!) and pay for both meals (2) Pay for the unwanted meal (& they throw it away) !!! (3) We pay & take it home. There was no apology made, at any time. My advice is watch out for the terse manner & tone of waiting staff, in event of any queries/problems. This maybe an isolated incident with a particular member of staff, on a bad day, as we have not had issues before. Nevertheless, we paid for a meal we did not want, just to keep the peace. Heavily disappointed & hungry customer.

We first visited this place when newly opened and thoroughly enjoyed. Why oh why did we wait so long to return? We won't be waiting that long again. Food AMAZING. Struggled to make a choice as every option had my taste buds tingling. Service is second to none and coffee five star. We will definitely be back - next time for a few glasses of wine.

Lovely early meal at California Coffee, tacos and Hollywood sharing platter were amazing. Staff lovely and atmosphere is laid back and you feel totally relaxed. Can’t wait to go back on Thursday for taco Thursday.

Brief visit on Sunday morning. Had a latte and Chorizo breakfast wrap to takeaway. Coffee tasted great and the wrap was fantastic. Super friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more.

What a fantastic little find if you are ever in the area then try and visit, we went for lunch and from the minute we arrived the service was welcoming and warm, great choice of menu and perfect that the breakfast/brunch items are served all day, we have lived and travelled a lot across America and especially California and felt the menu reflected lots of dishes we had tried on our travels, our son was happy they offered a grilled cheese and tomato soup option one of his American favourites, coffee was lovely so why would you go to a high street coffee shop when you can have a better coffee, service and food at an independent place, we will definately be back

Came here with a friend’s recommendation for a quick lunch. I had burrito and my friend had meat sandwich got chicken, beacon and avocado inside. We both think it’s tasty and very good price as well. This is a lovely local cafe&wine place also pet friendly place! Will definitely come back.
