Very rude staff, only 1 person at the bar to serve and takes a very long time to get food. Also very over priced.

Cool place, good beer and nice atmosphere. Just don't go for the food... The pictures on here are not what they serve now. It's not hard to do a half decent burger and as for the nachos... They were just a plate of cold crisps with some weird mayo

Came here when it opened and it had it all. Great service, great food and a great place to watch sports with the extra addition of playing retro games for that hit of nostalgia. The food aspect has unfortunately been completely lost. I paid £13 for a burger and chips and it was genuinely the worst food I’ve eaten in Manchester. Even worse in fact than a greasy match-day burger purchased outside the football stadium of your choice (which I do admit I have been partial to). The “beef” on the burger was rubbery and flavourless. The cheese also tasteless and cheap. The fries were fine. If you want to watch some sports and also play some old games with a couple of drinks, this is the place for you. If you wanted to do this whilst enjoying a decent meal, absolutely avoid here until they have resolved this issue. There is absolutely no reason why the food should be that bad anywhere.

Went in to watch the football (premier league). Never been in when the football (premier league) hasn’t been on, so this was a first time. 👌

Used to be so good, what happened!!!! Pay attention to recent reviews! Unfortunately the Calcio of today is a far cry from when it first opened a few years ago. They used to have a pop up kitchen serving from banging food (I miss you, duck fries). Today, the kitchen seems to be comprised of an airfryer, some frozen burgers and BBQ sauce (that's literally all that's on the menu). I was here over the weekend to watch some of the footy (the screens and atmosphere are nice to be fair) but I kept getting a smell of REALLY harsh chemicals. No idea what it was, but it smelled like spray paint or some sort of vile cleaner. Whatever it was, not appetising... but either was the menu. Don't think I'll be coming back again, which is really unfortunate as it used to be one of my favorite spots to catch a match.

Had a table booked with a PS2 but then last minute was changed to a Wii which tbh is pointless when you are all sat around in a crowded bar. Very disappointed

Footie, beer, retro games and a variety of great food - you can't get much better than that! I've been here a few times in the past few weeks, and it's turned into one of my favourite places to hang out in Manchester. A perfect place when the football is on (loads of screens, not too loud, reasonably priced drinks, decent service) and when it's quiet, it's got a chilled vibe with loads of board games and retro games to choose from at the tables (from Snes and Mega Drive to Xbox 360 and PS2). This is a seriously good place in the heart of Manchester (only a few mins walk from Piccadilly train station and Arndale) and well worth a visit. I will be back (repeatedly!).

Loved this place when it first opened. The burgers used to be unreal but yesterday I paid a premium burger price to be served a captain bird’s eye type frozen beef burger. Really disappointed with it. My mates had the pop up pizzas which they really enjoyed I was massively jealous

I popped in to watch football and grab some food. TV setup is great and drink selection isn't bad. Staff are friendly too. The food though..... Horrific. We ordered the cheeseburgers. They use frozen, cheap burgers and nacho cheese. They were swimming in it. If they were £5 I'd maybe let it slide but they were expensive. We both left a good chunk of our food and left shortly afterwards.

Food very overpriced for the tiny amount of food you get. Apart from that friendly staff and good atmosphere, definitely a football bar.

Been here twice for the (football-themed) pub quiz and once to play on one of the consoles. The place has a really good vibe, the staff are really friendly and very helpful, being quick to assist setting up the console. Also has good bar food options and a nice variety of beers and ciders.

Just so people know want to attach the original response where they accused me of lying and saying I put a fake review Edit: What a joke this place is. Management are trying to discredit my review. I DID NOT attend the quiz on Thursday as they are trying to claim. My girlfriend booked the table for 12pm on Saturday 17th August (see photo attached of booking confirmation) to watch the Derby vs Middlesbrough game, which we were unable to see despite the website saying otherwise. After replying to my review, it looks like management has created a fake account with my name "Michael Kendall" pretending to have attended the quiz to try and discredit this original review. If this is anything to go off I couldn't discourage anyone enough to not go here. Original Review: You cannot watch any match on Sky as it says on the website. Not from the area but booked a booth so we could watch a specific game that was on Sky sports arena. The game started at 12:30. We arrived at 12 and asked the barman to change the channel. It took him 45 minutes (and being pestered multiple times) before he came over to try and told us we can't watch the game we wanted

Such a good night!! We went for the Premier League pub quiz and the hosting and atmosphere was exceptional! Food was yummy and drinks were decently priced. Would highly recommend! X

I visited Calcio with my partner where we had reserved a videogame booth. We both had a fantastic time playing both video games and retro board games. We ate from the lunch menu which was very tasty and satisfying and was washed down with the great drink selection available. Our visit was made particularly enjoyable thanks to Paolo who served and entertained us all afternoon! He’s a real credit to the venue! We both look forward to visiting again in the near future!

Came here on a Saturday evening for some food walked in around 9pm was hardly any one in it had to order via a silly app which added £2.38 on for what I don't no ordered food then 10 minutes later a man came out and said they didn't have all the food I ordered his English was poor could hardly understand him he just walked away we had to chase him down and ask what was going on he just said refund and that was it glad I never ordered drinks

Caroline was a great help in making sure our reservation was locked in for the time that we wanted. Also made sure we had a good time on the day and some lovely food and a tasty birthday treat for my daughter. My wife and kids loved the board games and darts as well Much appreciated and recommended

A very good place to watch live sports, with TVs in the booth seating and good members of staff. Some people came here just to play games even if there is a sports game on, and there's no problem with that. The food, bought during the time with a good offer on burgers, were really good value. I only had one drink, a Guinness at (as I remember) £6... it was a good quality pint but I'll choose something a little cheaper next time. All in all, I'd happily visit this place again to watch sports and would recommend it to people reading this.

Love this place! Good Happy Hour drink deals, a great food menu and informative management staff who arranged my booking easily. Calico! also provides different video games around the bar in the private booths with loads of great games to play- absolutely inspired. Bravo guys!

Lies!! They said they would should Formula 1. After 20 minutes of waiting, they finally changed the tv on my table to F1 (the rest were showing football). But then, 2 minutes before race started, they decided to switch them all back to football. And when I asked them what happened, they said technical issue even though they were already showing F1 on my table. Services were average. Don’t order mixers there, they over-spilled both of my drinks and the drinks turned out to be diluted because of the overspills. Beers were fine.

Visited this place for first time and very impressed . Great pub food , nice vibe with great music and sports on tv screens but not too intrusive. Lots of people there enjoying the great atmosphere . They also have darts and videogames which people seemed to be enjoying, but we were enjoying the board and trivia games! I will definitely visit again .

What a treat to stumble upon Calcio! It was a drizzly Friday afternoon and we were looking for somewhere to sit and have a beer - we couldn't have asked for a better landing spot after a day of walking around the city. Really nice staff and an amazing bar to hang in. All the booths are super comfortable and spaced out well and each booth has fully loaded retro gaming. We played games and got pleasantly drunk on boozy cocktails at happy hour. Loved it.

We booked a table for Super Bowl & if your gonna have a dull game then I’m glad I was here!!! Great value for money, good range of beers & tacos to get you through the night. Staff worked tirelessly all through the night would definitely do it again next year!!!! Banging nachos tbh!!!

Absolutely superb experience! Came here for the Superbowl and the chef was brilliant checking in on what we wanted for the night. Highly recommend for any sporting event!

Great night out, been here for Super Bowl several times and champions league. Great value and great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you. Really accommodating.

Went for the superbowl and the kitchen and bar staff were top notch! Would recommend for a sports event! Chef came to us personally to make sure we were happy and what we wanted in terms of requests! Great staff, great price, great vibes!

For watching sports this pub is one of the best in Manchester, and on top of that they used to serve fantastic burgers. Now for some reason they changed kitchen to Rio Mex which to be honest is completely over charging for below average food, so make sure you eat before you go.

The ambient is nice with plenty of screens to see. But the service is just weak & on the menu card about 60 % was not available.

Make sure you order food before 20:30, no options afterwards. Actually no, well before as they're constantly out of the main dishes. Controllers on games consoles all seem broken.

DO NOT COME HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. EASILY THE WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. FOOD CAME OUT COLD AND GREASY OUT OF A TIN, NOTHING COOKED FRESH AND THEY LIE TO YOUR FACE AND TELL YOU THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL SERVICE. 0/10!

After booking two weeks in advance a table for 6 people to watch a Serie A match, today I arrived at Calcio! and they didn't know anything about my booking. The table wasn't ready but, most important, despite confirming it by email, they didn't show the Serie A match I wanted to watch. I understand that misunderstandings can happen but the staff didn't even try to help us ignoring us for several minutes. We left without eating and without having the chance to watch the match.

Looks to be newly fitted out. Now a sports bar. Lots of TV's and gaming facilities. Sadly the allotment bar is no more.. now one for the lads to drink and watch football.

Really attentive and genuinely delightful staff. Came here after a long day and pretty much by accident. I was not disappointed. Next time I'm back in Manchester I'll be coming back, it makes me wish I lived closer!

Yeah great spot for watching sport, playing some retro games and eating/drinking. Good selection of drinks. The food is amazing, biggest wings you’ve ever seen, and the staff are very nice. Highly recommend.

Decent atmosphere to the place, a bar staff member I think she’s called Liv really helped me find a new beer to try. She was very knowledgeable and had a friendly face. There was another member of the team there too with dark hair and she was also really friendly. Will definitely be heading back if they’re both working again.

Liv and Naomi both made sure I did not leave this place (drunk) and looked after me as I'm not from the area. Lovely service helpful and friendly.

So came here today, ordered unbeknowingly 5 minutes before last orders, at precisely 4 minutes after that we realised that fries weren’t included, so we went to the bar to ask to put fries on, where the kitchen just replied with no we are shut now. Not a great start already, quite rude infact. Another 25 minutes later food hasn’t arrived, god knows why as no one else was eating, then a random blonde woman comes over to our table, who we had already seen drinking at a table in the place. Turns out she was asking if we was eating tonight, but asked in a really pushy way for feedback. Thing is she didn’t work there , so that made us really confused. Guessing she’s a spouse of someone in the kitchen. Food arrives finally, low and behold a magical portion of fries is also with the food we ordered. Found that quite funny after being told the kitchen was shut. Began to eat with one eye in the background incase this mysterious was looking waiting to run over and ask us for feedback. Food was alright , not bad , not good . Onion rings really over done, hash browns were absolutely soaked in siracha almost like they’d been for a swim in the stuff. The beef burger was ok, chicken burger was the best thing that was actually nice. Leave after eating to be confronted by said mysterious lady smoking outside like she was almost waiting for us. Overall I won’t be coming back, pretty much because of the intial rudeness after asking for fries 4 mins after kitchen closes ( even though they was making our food anyway ) and Definately won’t be coming back because of the wierd vibe and atmosphere by this random woman who all she was is she is a friend of the owner. I don’t normally write reviews but here we are. I We were planning on staying for more drinks but this woman put us off so we went elsewhere Ps Calcio is a decent spot for drinks though

Found Calcio by accident, but so glad we did. Staff are really friendly, the place is clean and so much fun, but on top of ask that the food is absolutely excellent. Really, really excellent. Highly recommended. Will be going back for sure.

Awful experience. Made a booking for a table with a ps2 for 4 people. Was sat down at a standard table with 3 seats, so asked a member of staff about my booking and was told someone was sat where we booked and had to wait 15mins. Eventually got seated and the staff member walked off and it just had football on the screen, no remote to change it the channel and not asked what games we would want to play. Managed to figure out how to change to the PlayStation hdmi channel and the only game we had was a pro evo football - that’s fine started to play and one of the pads didn’t work so we couldn’t play any games while there. Thought we would just have food and some drinks, food was great (the only high point of the experience). However was ruined by the fire alarm going off for over 10mins 😂 wouldn’t return or recommend.

Wow Wow Wow! I came away from this place and said to my partner, I can’t not leave a review. What a lovely, chilled bar with the most delicious grub! We had so much fun playing Mario kart whilst waiting for our food. This bar is packed with tables which each have a console on for you to play games with whoever you attend. The food. I have no words. We were STUNNED with how delicious the food was. We both had the beef burger, some salt and pepper fries and some chicken wings 🐷. Honestly, I’ll be running back to eat here. Keep up the hard work ☺️ I wish there were more bars like this!

Had been here in its old guise but a friend suggested a visit seeing as though he knows my loves are food, beer, football and video games (not necessarily in that order) Fair to say he nailed the recommendation. Plenty of screens to watch sport or play on the retro consoles (Mario Kart anyone?) and the decor is fantastic, the old magazines in the toilet took me way back. The food was well priced and really tasty, and with Madri on draught I was also well watered. Definitely adding this place to the list of must go's when I'm in the City.

Fun bar, was quiet when we went in but we still had a good time with Sega mega drive and SNES located at tables in case you fancy a game of Sonic the hedgehog with your beer.

Went to watch the football to eat and have a drink, best Got No Beef (veggie) burger 🍔 I've had in a long while, if not ever! Yes it was that good! if I could have managed it I would have had another! Set up as an Xbox bar, multiple individual booths for 4/6 people with their own screen and Xbox. However, no Xboxes on tonight, as all the screens were on the World Cup semi finals, had a view to watch from any screen, fab! Lovely staff and good food, would highly recommend and obviously if you're an Xbox fan you'll love it!

This place is awesome. A must for football fans. Went for a world cup game, was busy but still great service.

Went on the second night they’d opened, and they had a bit of a shaky start. The bar staff accidentally put the wrong food order through, we were happy to eat what we were given, but they really pulled it out of the bag when they came over with a portion of their hoi sun duck and chips. Food was amazing, and it’s always good bashing out a couple of super Mario world levels while you wait.

Top notch bar, good vibes and the duck fries are more than worth the price
