The visitor centre is just past the Standing Stones and has an excellent gift shop and cafe. After visiting the stones, we decided to have lunch here and pick up some more information and gifts. The gift shop is well laid out with a variety of quality items and the staff were incredibly helpful in answering our questions. The cafe is sunny and bright and there is a good selection of food available from 9:00am until 4:00pm. The Visitor Centre and Cafe are closed on Sundays

Well worth a visit to the centre and the stones. The stones you can walk around freely and touch them. You can visit for free if you don't go into the visitors centre. There are also lots of other spots to see stones too. Wear sensible footwear though incase of rain.

Great little centre, has informative museum/exhibition. Very small charge to go in and view, used for the upkeep of the site.

Oh dear, disappointed by limited menu, it was brilliant before covid. Basic, soup average not enough, bread ok I guess but average. Everything in cardboard. Not sure many visitors getting food here will be too impressed if its like this all season. Better bring a picnic really. I guess they don't have the staff or just can't cope with numbers to do a decent lunch like they used to... pity.

Had a delightful time at the stones and the centre. Food was very acceptable and staff super friendly. Gift shop was good and have to say a special something about the service here. we bought a rather large souvenir which we decided to ship back. The service on this was superb. Follow-up phone call to see how things were and even negotiated an unsolicited reduction in the postage for us. Overall an absolutely excellent experience.

Initially we were relieved to find somewhere actually open for lunch in February but quite honestly we would have been better off staying in our car and eating a cold picnic. The first thing we noticed in the cafe was an overpowering, rancid, greasy smell. Somewhat put off my husband queued to place our order for the lentil and tomato soup whilst I tried to locate a table free from the previous occupants leftovers and used crockery. Failing to do so I resorted to clearing a table myself, noticing ,as I did so another customer having to do the same thing too. Eventually my husband was served but the soup portion was small, barely lukewarm and accompanied by just a tiny slither of bread. The staff were clearly struggling and out of their depth and the entire cafe had a jaded, dated feel to it.

We were unsure what it would be like as there is little alternative in the area. We were not disappointed as the food and drink was very nice and was served fairly promptly. Although it was a busy day and most people were inside, due to the weather, we were able to get seats. It's worth a visit and staff are very friendly.

Great food at the visitors centre when we visited today. We had homemade scones and tea- absolutely delicious! Best scones we've had in ages. Got an extra one to go! Very helpful staff. Friendly and professional. Would certainly recommend before/after you see the standing stones.

Lovely selection of fresh home baking, and nice coffee. Cute little gift shop, and plenty of information about the standing stones.

Well- stocked gift shop, bustling cafe, helpful staff and clean toilets. Exhibit worth a look, although not much for younger children (lots of interpretive boards) aside from the short AV clip

A great place to plan and make a day trip out to the stones and have lunch. It can get fairly busy but thins out just as quickly.

We stopped here to see some more standing stones, like Stonehenge, and also for lunch. The wind was horrific, and very difficult to stand and move about, so quite a few of us opted NOT to go close to the stones, but to have lunch. Self-serve unch was quite good, and were able to get and eat fairly quickly. They also have a very nice gift shop. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the vicinity.

We had no idea that there was a cafe here so when we found that it makes fantastic cakes and homemade apple pie and coffee and soup and everything you could hope for for a light lunch we were very pleasantly surprised! The gift shop it is also one of the best we came across with an extremely friendly and helpful gentleman assisting

The restaurant is part of the complex that includes a shop and a visitor centre. It was a quiet day - not many intrepid visitors on a sunny but squally February day. Between showers, the view from the restaurant over Loch Roag to the hills of Uig is nice. The room is decorated with paintings (which are for sale). The service was good - two very helpful and pleasant young people in charge. A very good choice on the menu for a small place and the food was piping hot when delivered to the table. The quality was good - both main course and the traybakes with tea/coffee afterwards. A great place to relax for a casual meal.

We went to look at the stones today and found there is now a lovely visitors centre there. So we had one coffee and one hot chocolate plus a fruit scone each which had been freshly baked that morning as they were still warm, some of the best I have ever had.we went on to look at the stones and then went on else where but as the drinks and scones had been so good we came back via the centre so we could have lunch lovely freshly cooked brocoli and Stilton quiche which was again made fresh that day and served with salad and fresh bread or you could have had chips and veg.the staff are all very helpful and happy in their work.

We visited today for some lunch. The food menu was varied and reasonably priced. The drinks cabinet had only a small selection but we all found something we wanted. The staff member on the till was lovely. There was quite a wait on food but I felt it was worth it as everything was lovely and hot and as far as I could tell it was made to order. We are deducting one star for cutlery not being readily available (it was busy so it was understandable)

Stunning view and friendly, efficient staff in a small family-run hotel. The quality of food was excellent, but fully grown humans may wish to order two main courses each, such was the rather miserly amount of actual food - scallops and monkfish respective.y - on our plates. Top marks for presentation and taste, but would have loved a little more.

We ate twice at Scarista House Restaurant during our recent trip to Harris. We have dined here before on previous visits over the last 20 years and this year it was better than ever. Beautifully prepared local food. First menu - Twice baked cheese soufflé, followed by Stornoway landed hake in a delicious sauce and some delicious vegetables. and then a chocolate roulade!. Second menu - goats cheese, courgette and cheese raviol with a nettle pesto (amazing!) followed by local hand dived scallops and the most delicious lemon tart with excellent pastry, lemon verbena ice cream and a strawberry and pink peppercorn coulis. Fabulous! Highly recommend the cooking here! An absolute delight!
