We were on a visit to Rochester and this was the first coffee shop we passed having arrived and parked. We lucked out as the almond croissants were amazing. I've never had such a good one. It's a very small cafe and a little further out of the central part of the town, but definitely worth seeking out. The service was also very friendly and the coffee was good. They had oat milk which I much prefer in latte for the creaminess.

Why o why do we not live closer to this gorgeous little cafe! Had the best coffee, bread and butter pud (with almost a creme brulee filling) and simply the best salt beef sandwiches to take away. Any match for London's, Selfridges, Brass Rail salt beef bar. They deserve queues down the road for this delicious sandwich alone! Fantastic, caring service..if we are visiting again, we will head straight for here and highly recommend it to everyone! Thank you :) :) :)

We visited twice last week, the first a planned visit in the afternoon for cake, the second an impromptu visit one evening. The first visit was fantastic, we had a selection of cakes and sandwiches, fresh, tasty ingredients and would thoroughly recommend. The second visit was in an evening, we had no idea that they opened late but offer a good selection of their take on pizzas, which taste incredible! Firstly I’d like to thank the staff, we asked if they were open at 8.30, they welcomed us in, 4 adults and 2 children and looked after us well. As we left we asked what time they close and it should have been 8.45pm! They didn’t need to serve us but did without complaint and certainly didn’t rush us whatsoever, thank you! The pizzas are delicious, they’re also very filling so don’t order too much as we did, they made a tasty treat the following day though! I’d highly recommend the venue for both daytime and evening dining, a real gem.

Without a doubt THE BEST cinnamon rolls in the world!..and they were when it was just their 'plain' ones. Now the forrero rocher ones! I think I might have reviewed cakeman before but that's how passionately I feel about them! The team are amazing too!

Me, my family and friends have had lunch at the cake man, from being just a stall outside the shop to being in the shop. Every time without fail, David has surpassed everyone’s expectations. From cakes, pastries, sandwiches, toasties to just a coffee are all simply unmatched to any other business around. Alongside this, David makes us feel more than just customers and goes out of his way for us every-time, whether it’s just a conversation to bringing some of our favourite bakeries (bread and butter pudding being my personal favourite) to our home in Rochester. On top of this, when me and my wife had just had our new born son, David went out of his way to bring us some baked goods as a congratulations! Daisy is also a great member of staff, with her service that is just simply top notch! Cannot recommend “The cake man enough” if you are visiting or living in Rochester, do not miss this gem!

Cafe Lodge is the best cafe on the manor by a country mile. The owner is a top bloke and treats his customers as friends. We have our production meetings at Cafe Lodge regularly and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Food is superb, selection is huge and the prices totally reasonable. Highly recommend you try it.

I had been here maybe 6 years ago, and recently tried it again. The most recent reviews at this time are all very good, lots of 5 stars and lots of mentions of authentic food. I can only assume these people have never been to Thailand and/or had authentic Thai food, because it's simply not, not in the slightest. This restaurant is a perfect example of a place that is catering to English tastes, the green curry was essentially a UK version... much in the same way that Indian restaurants have a tikka masala, which is a completely made up in authentic dish .. so to is Thai 4 twos green Thai curry ... some would say the flagship dish of any Thai eatery. Authentic Thai curry has fish sauce, spicy with lime and crucially sweet basil. This didn't have any of these, furthermore it was actually so weak it wasn't green at all but an off yellow sort of colour, also the chicken was hard and dry and definitely not freshly prepared. I am trying to be more balanced in my review but I would say that the service was a little slow, also, the guy with earings didn't really speak much, when someone comes to the table I like to at least have a small conversation. All in all, it's a no from me. Sorry Thai 4 two, you just aren't an authentic Thai restaurant

We had a wonderful Impromptu lunch here today — the food was excellent and service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Started w tuna tataki, followed by halibut in a delicious miso sauce w black rice. Lovely w local Kent wine. Highly recommend!
