Cake Cafe in North Somerset

Been here a few times. Think it is amazing, the food is good, the cake is goooooood and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

We love the cakes here and thought for once we'd eat in as a treat (we usually get takeaway cakes). Here was our mistake. Their Baker is great but the staff member we asked for one cup of tea and 2 cakes 'barked' at us that she was so busy that there was a 20 minute wait for a cup of tea and did we really want to wait. She had about 3 orders and there were 2 staff on. She'd sent the couple in front of me in the queue packing too. As we left, she was shouting out asking who the croissant was for. We went elsewhere. So by all means get a takeaway (the triple choc brownie is fab) but see what mood the staff are in before you risk sitting down or ordering a drink - you may 'wake the beast' and incur wrath.

Visited this cafe last week and will not go back unless the staff undergo customer service training! Upon entering my wife joined the queue and I went to find a seat. My wife was behind a couple who tried to place an order and they were told in a very off hand way that it would be 20/25 mins wait before their order could be taken. They left. My wife then tried to order and was told the same and she, ( the staff member) said she was busy. When my wife said she only wanted 2 slices of cake and a pot of tea the staff member said she could have the cake now but the tea would still be 25 mins. All this conversation was said in an abrupt and surley manner, clearly the staff member was not in the mood to serve or be pleasant to anyone.

Four of us went into Cake Cafe for drinks and a snack. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. You have to order at the counter but all the drinks and snacks are brought to your table. A nice selection of cakes, and savouries such as pasties, sandwiches, paninis, and baguettes. Free Wifi and clean toilets. Well worth a visit.
