Cairns Bar in Glasgow City

Went for xmas lunch, turkey dinner was lovely, but turkey pie was burned to a crisp and mashed potato waa frozen. We waited 45 mins before dinner was served and the place was quite empty. In fairness they didnt charge for the burnt dinner. Then they said they had no xmas pudding cos chef forgot to order it!!. Cant fault the servers but the kitchen staff need to turn up the service, cos people were getting annoyed waiting.

Great wee pub just of Argyll Street. We didn't have food, but we have done in the past with no complaints. Drinks reasonably priced, staff are friendly , as always. If you are out shopping, pop in for a snack or a drink, I don't think you will be disappointed

Pub in typical English style where you can drink and eat. The pub is divided into two rooms, one reserved exclusively for drinking and the other where you can enjoy good food. On the weekend at dinner you can entertain yourself with karaoke, a fun experience that makes the evening fun thanks also to the beer that accompanies the songs.

Delicious food..gorgeous mac and cheese with rocket and watermelon salad. Service was very good

I only had one beer here, so I can't really praise or condemn it, conviviality-wise. The bar person was friendly and courteous, and the prices seem to be on a par with most places in the town centre.

Great food, bustling Glasgow pub with a great atmosphere with a beautiful interior, the famous horse shoe shaped bar.

From the minute we set foot in the door we were greeted with a warm welcome from all the staff , seated and served promptly , staff were very accommodating to my sons dietary needs and nothing was an issue . The food was served and it was lovely warm and fresh great portions too excellent value for money, great bar highly recommended thankyou.

Popped into Cairns Bar while I had a quick half hour between trains, decent atmosphere, showing the football, and the Tennents, a cracking pint, was only £3.90. That impressed, on my way back from the football, I had another quick brace before getting my train up the road. Well worth a visit.

Had Sunday lunch today, paid £14 and it was aunt Bessie's stuffing ball, well done dried out aunt Bessie's roast tatties, frozen veg (em 3 tiny ships of carrot and half dozen strips of cabbage) Yorkshire pudding had more crisp than a crisp and cauliflower cheese burnt and to top it off the mash had more pepper than tattie, safe to say don't waste your money

Went in yesterday with my Brother for a pint decided to get a couple of shots of Fireball I couldn't believe what they charged £4 a pop for 25ml Fireball is £20 for a 70cl bottle ..thats £112 they make a bottle , no wonder the pubs are empty robbery.

Second time going and unfortunately food was not great at all - unlike first time It seemed that our food had been sitting for a while before coming out, we were a party of 7 an everyone's meal was very disappointing and not enjoyable First time we went the food was lovely s not sure what went wrong Atmosphere great an the young girl serving was lively and attentive, so it was a shame that food was do disappointing Unfortunately we won't eat here again

Traditional style pub decor. Central location near shops in Argyll street. Really lovely, helpful and efficient young female server. Good drinks selection. Food was ok - probably much as you would expect in a pub.

First time in cairns bar I loved it ,the staff are all very friendly atmosphere was great too.

Went for Sunday roast today 30th September, was very disappointed, with the meal no cream potatoes, the beef was thick must have been a different chef from 2weeeks ago when same meal was lovely

Lovely service but food nor good and place not clean - our table was dirty and toilets weren't good.

Stumbled upon this pub whilst looking for a bite to eat in Glasgow before a gig. Really friendly staff and the food was surprisingly good. I had a really good quality cheeseburger and chips. Beer was great too and there was a karaoke on. Sang a song and then had to be on our way. Would defo go again though!

Good staff, good drinks, Big age group, good pub to spend time in

One of the best pubs in Glasgow and certainly one of the few that also offers the possibility of looking for, and not just drinking, various draft beers or typical spirits. The atmosphere is very characteristic and the place is divided into two sections: one dedicated only to those who want to drink, and one equipped with several tables for those who also want to eat a little something. The food was very good. It is possible to find typical Scottish dishes but also something more atypical. The fish and chips (especially the "fish" part) were some of the best I had during my short stay in Scotland (and I recommend seasoning them with malt vinegar). The service was very friendly and the prices, (considering the part of the world we are in) were not excessively high.

We both had fish and chips and complained that the batter was thick and undercooked the waitress went to the kitchen to inform the chef returning to us saying the chef said the fish are bought with the batter already prepared and not much the chef can do about it Poor poor attitude to have We would never recommend or return to this establishment

Food took ages to come...portion was shocking for the price and definatley not value for money anymore ..... Used to be great place and food excellent ..disappointed to say the least... Nachos were so bad my friend couldn't eat them.. cold and avocado was just nasty

Just arrived in Glasgow and decided to explore a bit while my wife ducked into a store. I stumbled upon a hidden gem, Cairns Bar, and I'm so glad I did. This place has everything you'd want in a local pub—great beer, awesome service, and a fantastic vibe. The outdoor patio is perfect for people-watching, and the patrons are incredibly friendly. The staff is laid-back yet attentive, offering spot-on recommendations for what to drink and eat. Speaking of food, the Sunday special of roast beef was delicious, and my wife loved her sticky chicken and fries. We topped it off with some indulgent sticky toffee pudding. I think I’ve found my go-to spot for the next five days we’re in town! Highly recommended.

What a find! It was just around the corner from the hotel as well. The bartender was great fun, funny, and helpful. The food was really good for a Greene King pub as well. We certainly weren't disappointed and would visit again if in Glasgow

Possibly the best toastie I have ever had in my life. Three cheeses with bechamel sauce inside, with chips and salad for less than a tenner. Would happily pay this, as excellent portion and value. I think it was £6.75. Service is also really welcoming and warm. I will happily come here again for lunch.🙏🙏👍👍👍

Just popped in for lunch after shopping and sightseeing. The Fish & Chips were great and the Belhaven Best was even better. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Hope to get back before I head home to Canada.

Went in for a late lunch/dinner, food was beautiful, although expensive it was very tasty indeed. Staff were really friendly and helped in anyway they could, highly recommend, just don't expect it to be cheap but what is nowadays, it's lovely for a wee treat. There is a lunch menu 2 meals & a drink for £20 I think it was, we were 20 mins too late for the lunch deal (finishes at 3pm). Will be going back for sure 👌👌👌 steak was also on the menu not shown below.

Visiting from Vancouver Canada and stopped in on a Saturday night for the second time this trip. Love the food! The first trip here we had the steak and ale pie…amazing. The second trip we had the 5 for 15.95 appy special. The manager is super sweet. The staff….amazing. Karaoke on the Saturday night was such a treat. It really was this place is for everyone. It had such a good vibe where everyone was there to have a good time and just listen to everyone’s best effort. What a great vibe in such a lovely city.

Now Bellhaven I ate haggis and it was great! Great bar, great prices and Ben is a fine server. We shared 3 apps for 15 gbp the night we arrived. A nice house scotch whiskey was 3.75. A great spot!!

I don’t normally write reviews, however this was such a lovely and welcoming bar and the atmosphere was great ! I can’t remember the young ladies name ( she was from northern England ) but it was her that I remember from my visit there. We had a lovely chat and nothing was too much trouble , ps she was always smiling :)

Wow what a find. Stumbled across the pub at the weekend. It was very busy but the staff were unbelievably accommodating, friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and service. We will be back on our return to Glasgow

Typical pub, for us Italian tourists it is the classic. Good fish & chips and burgers. Excellent local St.Mungo beer. The young waitress was very kind.

Absolutely loved this place! The staff put on an English game that I wanted to see, even though the Scottish cup final (both the two top teams in the league)was on. This was obviously managed by multiple TVs. The mix and match dishes were absolutely gorgeous and very generous in quantity. There was a proper private disabled toilet also, but more than anything, and the best feature of this place was the staff. They were friendly and actually went out of the way to make anything easier for me. Unfortunately, this is something that you don't usually get with City centre places. Highly recommended, a great gem of a place A++++

Worst pub I've ever been in staff were awful never again was in the Washington in Blackpool the same pub chain they were great but this place was awful walked out in the end

Abbie and Beth have always been lovely to me & my partner when we’ve been here, amazing drinks and food as well. Live sport is always on too. Great service and would recommend this pub to anyone in Glasgow!

Cairns is a City Centre pub where you always get what you expect in my experience.

Glad we stopped for a couple of pints in this nice wee pub. Good selection of beers (Belhaven Black is highly recommend) friendly staff, lots of screens for watching the football.

The nuts are tasty and salty. The bartender lost the napkins, but got out of it and bought them at a nearby store. There are not enough grandfathers, we need to bring them. The cold water pressure is satisfactory. Overall, a pub.

Great food 5* for chefs and the people assisting him. However a certain waitress pretended that she does not know what I was ordering and brought me a peroni instead of a brownie. My speach has been really clear and I have witnesses for that as well if this matter is questioned. Not very nice.

Another fine establishment from Belhaven. Pub located on Millar Street literally a few minutes walk from Argyle Street train station. Quick service and nice atmosphere. Lovely pint of lager. Screens throughout showing sports. Was able to watch the Scotland game. The venue serves food, but we didn't order anything on this visit.

Good, no nonsense city centre bar with food.

It was end of night and my partner mistakenly picked up the wrong jacket but gave it back as soon as he realised but now they have told us we aren’t getting served anymore. Couldn’t fault the place before this but it’s an abomination now !!

My friend and I were in and we each placed our orders. Both meals were served and were wrong. Food tasted poor. Staff were nice and even a staff member told us that they had themselves made suggestions to management about raising standards.That sums the place up. We wouldn’t go back.

Came in on a wet Saturday afternoon. Service was excellent. Only had light bites but they were delicious.

My mum and me have been visiting this bar for food since I was in my early 20s, so we knew it was a nice place to go for some lunch. The young girls who served us were great, ensuring our food was up to standard, and asking if we needed anything else regularly. My mum went to the bar to pay whilst I stood outside, when my mum came outside, I had to jump back in to go to the toilet before we left, and that’s when I heard the manager speaking to one of her staff who served us, speaking about a customer being rude because this customer didn’t pick up straws. I mentioned what I’d heard to my mum, and to my surprise it turned out this brass woman was speaking about my mum. My mum has just had an operation and is unable to bend down to pick up straws from the floor that was accidentally knocked down by the staff member who helped her pay. I’m assuming she was the manager, even the staff member seemed embarrassed when she speaking about customers. The manager should ensure she keeps her judgements to herself instead of being completely unprofessional and rude about her customers.

Really nice pub. Especially Beth who works there, she is probably the best member of staff I’ve ever encountered in a bar ever.
