I am very picky about my food and drinks with 15 years in hospitality. I expect people to get the basics right and given my past experience of remote places in wales my expectations were not that high. What a lovely surprise! The bap just hit the spot, lovely runny egg, perfectly cooked bacon and black pudding and lovely strong black coffee. My wife had a delicious light chocolate cake. Happy days! 😍 Loved it! And the setting is just wow!

A lovely situation , unfortunately the soup of the day wasn't soup of the day but frozen soup from another day defrosted and microwaved. It came with some brown sliced bread you wouldn't serve with soup and was inedible. No quarms when I sent it back to replace the tomato soup with leek and potato soup .. my sons burger didn't come with the cheese that was paid for (£2 ), and when my soup came back, it was still frozen in the middle, and the potato was obviously not fresh The waitress apologized for the wait and said it was because they were defrosting it . I took it back to the counter this time, and we left . 2 soups that were awful and a cheese burger and spicy bean burger the kids liked, and the chips were cooked in oil that should have been changed a week ago grim. Wish I'd brought my own with us. What a shame . Soup of the day should be fresh and when it's gone it's done for the day not frozen

Called for lunch and the terrace had been taken over by a film crew who were filming a new series of Pilgrimage. Our drinks were brought promptly but our food order got lost in the confusion of film crews demanding drinks as props! When I queried the delay the staff were really apologetic and fetched more complimentary drinks and extra chips when they brought the order. The food was excellent, the staff were lovely and it was entertaining to watch ‘celebrities’ being filmed. Highly recommend!

We walked from Aberdaron to Porthor Whistling Sands 6.7 miles there and back. We went to the cafe for lunch, i had baked potato with cheese and salad, my brother had Spicy bean burger with chips and salad. My potato was massive, and cooked just right and my brother said his meal was also delicious and the portions were huge. We also ordered the Blueberry scones and paninis to take out. Once back in Aberdaron we had the scones, theyre the best weve ever tasted, so full of Blueberries and packed full of flavour. I highly recommend visiting this lovely cafe at Porthor you wont be disappointed and try the scones.

We’ve been coming here for the last 16years and this Cafe has served us with not only great Ice Creams, Cappuccinos, Cream teas, Pizzas but also with great memories to cherish always. The great cafe is the perfect accompaniment to a fantastic gem of a beach. I believe new toilet block is about to be commissioned near to the cafe too, which saves the trip up the hill to the NT toilets. Also great to see the reduction in plastic disposables. However the only downside is the lack of bins - surely Gwynedd Council and National Trust should be part funding such waste disposal?
