I had a breakfast here in May and it was one of the best breakfasts i've ever had and it was great value for money, especially when you think of the price of everything

Love going to Caffi Coed y Brenin! Always have to get the full English; loads of bacon, two sausages etc etc AND fried bread. Can’t be beaten!

We highly recommend both the cafe and it's staff as they have provided a variety of food for our clients from meals in the cafe to bespoke lunchboxes, on site and off site catering and always to a high standard. Always friendly and welcoming, the cafe is well worth a visit.

Called in for breakfast whilst staying nearby. This is a clean cafe on main street and we were welcomed promptly and our orders taken. The food was served quite quickly and we enjoyed our very generous full English. Sadly it was a bit too generous for me as I could not finish it. If I go again I will order something a bit smaller. However it was served hot and was tasty and reasonably priced.

Malá útulná kavárna s obrovskou porcí snídaně. Můj splněný sen si pochutnat na takové britské snídani. Snad se někdy vrátím. Příjemná obsluha i ostatní návštěvníci!

Ok... it is a caff, food is your typical cafe food which I like... not a flashy place but you are made very welcome, popular with locals (always a good sign) great pot of tea and great value.

Poor and disappointing, lasagne was so overheated it had melted on the plate and the edges were so hard it was inedible. The chicken curry was very disappointing also as the sauce was straight from a jar I suspect and the chicken was hard and chewy. The staff were friendly and it was not expensive but I can't say we enjoyed it, We wouldn't recommend it and we wouldn't go back. sorry.

This was my first time visiting Bethesda, I was attending a funeral on my girlfriends family side and were invited back to the Caffi Coed-y-Brenin once the service had finished. The staff seemed very consoling and put on a great spread for friends and family as they reminisced about the loved one they had lost! All in all very friendly staff and very good for groups!Great work guys

Hubby and I were travelling along the A5 main road when we decided to stop here for lunch. We were immediately given a friendly welcome. Hubby ordered 2 sausages, chips & beans. I chose lasagne verdi, chips & salad. Whilst the meals were being prepared, we had a large pot of tea to enjoy. We didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. The meals were generously portioned, hot & satisfying, and extremely good value for money = £12.50 which I was able to pay by card (contactless). ALL of the staff (and the local customers) made us feel welcome. This cafe trains adults with learning disabilities and DESERVES YOUR SUPPORT. You are definitely guaranteed service with a smile if you eat here.

We had a very warm welcome not only by the staff but also by people sitting in this restaurant. We could excange our thoughts freely and left this place with a full heart (and pleasantly full stomac). I would higly recommend people to visit this place, help people with difficulties and enjoy nice company of friendly people.

Stumbled upon here for breakfast at the beginning of a short break in Wales and returned again for more. Food was by far the best breakfast we came across and the service friendly and welcoming. What a wonderful thing to help people with learning difficulties, we were all truly impressed and would highly recommend to others paying a visit to the area. Very well done and thank you for providing us with fantastic food and warmth.

Although I live a short walk from the cafe, today was my second time visiting. Everyone seemed confused as to how to treat my order. Staff were shouting at each other in the kitchen and not once did someone come to just clarify with me what I ordered. Finally the food was brought out, and of course; the order was wrong. I was missing chips, which I explained to the lady who just looked at me baffled for a good few seconds until I just told her to forget it. She didn't even apologise, just walked back into the kitchen. Don't think I'll return in a hurry.

If you want to experience the ambience of 'Under Milk Wood' this is the place to go. Here you will hear the lively chatter of the elderly residents of Bethesda who use the cafe as a venue for exchange of gossip, knitting patterns and updates on grandchildren. You can purchase a good basic lunch for a good basic price and this may include semolina for pudding (I don't know of any other 'eatery' which provides this facility). The cafe also doubles up as a catering establishment for any local funerals and, I believe, they also cater for weddings at reasonable prices. The coffee isn't that good (they only have instant) but they do a very pleasant pot of tea. For some unknown reason they also have a laundry and dry cleaning service.

I took my family, who came over from Germany, for a trip to Snowdonia. We went to Caffi Coed y Brenin twice during a 2 day visit to the area. Once for lunch, where we decided that we would return for breakfast the next day. My visitors and I loved this cafe. My family commented on its friendly atmosphere, and how the staff couldn't do enough for you. We would definitely go back, on our next trip there!

I was looking online for Portmeirion Village tickets and noticed that they were included if you took lunch in the Castell's Brasserie - what a fab idea. I hadn't told my wife and daughter, and made up an excuse about us having to stop at the Castell to collect our village entry tickets. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the views from the Brasserie were amazing. The waiting staff were courteous and professional and the menu included a couple of fab veggie options. Our starters did seem to take a while to arrive, but there were a lot of people on our sitting, and when they arrived they were just gorgeous. You could see the skill and pride that had gone into making and presenting the food, it was phenomenal. Highly recommended.

You just cannot walk past this lovely pub, which is situated in the corner of Porthmadog Harbour, not far from the Yacht club. For many years, we've visited Porthmadog walking from Black Rock Sands along the coast line through Borth-y-Gest and arriving in the harbour where you need a little break, so we popped into Tafarn Pencei. Outside the pub, there are benches, but to the side of the pub, there's a rooftop terrace with a lovely view of the harbour just a note that this pub is very dog friendly, Tess loves it anyway. Inside it has a dining area to the left and the centre of the pub is the bar which has seating beyond and to the right a further 4 large tables. The landlord and all the staff are very friendly and attentive, which includes the chef and kitchen staff as your food is absolutely amazing (5✨️) The bar has 3 to 4 real ales on Bass, a favourite, is always on, good selection of largers and a nice wine list which are all reasonably priced. The Pencei is a go-to pub and restaurant it has its regulars, who I must say are also lovely but what we love about it is the atmosphere the way that the landlord is checking that your ok "have you had a good day" I hear him say, you don't get this very often and this is why we come back every year. The food served here is outstanding from the fish & chips, mussels, steaks, and smashed burgers all home cooked. So don't just walk around the harbour pop in and try for yourselves. I must say, you won't be disappointed at all. So thank you to you all at Tafarn Pencei for making our little break away so special we'll see you again. The H's
