Really lovely service from Matt... he was very friendly and accommodating. It can make such a difference when you get served by someone like him. The iced latte he made was really nice

You're seriously taking the P now. This place is hugely overcharging for small bottles of soft drinks. THE most expensive establishment to purchase Pepsi Max & Coca Cola in Cardiff. You've lost my custom. I'll go elsewhere.

Beautifully served food and beverages in a lovely clean and spacious environment. There's seating outside too. The coffee here is faultless, I'll be sure to visit again. Highly recommend.

Personal agradable, buen café, pasteles golpea y falla (no siempre horneado bien) , ambiente SUCIO. No tengo idea de lo que es la limpieza. ¿Quizás la compañía espera que el personal sobre-trabajado lo haga? A pesar de todo, el lugar siempre está sucio. Mesas sucias, alféizares de ventanas dejados sin limpiar durante semanas (ver foto) y los baños están bastante más allá.

Cafe Nero never disappoints. This one in particular is very busy in morning and weekends. Staff is super friendly and the drinks are top notch as always. There is plent of seating place and toilets on the premise

The familiar, quaint charm of a traditional Italian coffee house. Caffè Nero on the Albany Drive has the best coffees and snacks but what's more, it has that charm and theat feel associated with coffee houses. You can sit by the window or sit outside and see the town go by, slowly. Love to spend my morning hours here.

Under the old manger (ess) this was a tightly run ship. These days, less so! The place is filthy. Tables are not cleared regularly. The toilets are a health hazard. Don’t buy a pastry after midday - late in the afternoon they are inedible. The actual building also needs attention. Bits of plaster falling off, windowsills in need of painting! As a chain Cafe Nero is looking tired. The executive boardroom look is out of place in 2024. It’s like being trapped in an episode of Frasier from 2000. New management and new direction required. A great shame as the coffee is actually pretty good!

Too many internet hogs nursing one coffee .......sad

A fantastic coffee shop with a decent buzz, good food choices and drink options. My only gripe was on the day I visited, there were several dogs in the coffee shop and one dog barked constantly. Some people eventually got up and walked out as the dog owner didn't bat an eyelid. Such a shame.

It was busy but the staff were very friendly and made everyone’s orders super quickly! My latte had art on it and the store was very clean. There was only 2 of them on shift and they were clearly working very hard and very quickly to maintain drink speed and store cleanliness. Super impressive, high recommend! The seating is nice and cosy too

Usually this place is amazing - but for a few months this trainee barista has been on, and she’s hard working don’t get me wrong, but she has a knack for messing up peoples orders, and I understand especially when it’s busy and you are under stress to remember the order, but even when there is no one around, somehow she will mess up the order, in the beginning it was small things, I’m nitpicking here - like she forgot to put cream on top or the drink wasn’t blended properly. But then there are a bit more concerning ones, like giving your drink a in store cup instead of a takeaway. My partner is lactose intolerant and when I order her drink I ask for oat milk yet this barista will **always** mess up her order and add regular milk, and when my partner has stomach cramps and we wonder why, it’s not fun to figure out - its gotten to the point where if I go to cafe Nero and I see her on I’ll just leave the store and go to Costa.

Well presented with great lighting and atmosphere. A great place to go for a nice cuppa. A well managed and maintained coffee shop thats full of character both in the cup and behind the counter. The baristas are really friendly and approachable they truly make you feel welcome. Will definitely make it a part of my weekly routine.

Busy today but Jamie and colleague did amazingly well. A nice atmosphere where you see faces of regular customers. If you don't know them personally it is nice to smile and say hello.

Great "pit stop" when you're on and about near Wellfield Road. Snacks and desserts, good coffee, nice service. Like most franchises of this brand.

Great coffee and a lovely relaxed atmosphere

My husband and I went to visit Nero’s in Wellfield road but walking through the entrance door was enough to turn us around. There was a lot of litter and leaves all over the floor inside and every table had empty cups on and the chairs we could see were ripped and tatty. Totally disgusting for an eatery. Needless to say we didn’t stay and went elsewhere.

They making good coffees but they've got sort stuff I think. Whenever I go there always keep me waiting. One stuff trying to do everything. Taking orders, making coffee, heating food and taking money. One stuff tidings up the tables. Yesterday I have been this branch. I has Belgian Chocolate Fudge Cake. It was very old. Cake was like a cement... I had the same cake day before on Queen Street, it was perfect and fresh.

Wellfield Rd Branch cardiff is one of the best in Cardiff. Delightful and caring staff and superb coffee. Thoroughly recommended.

This is the second time I went to this cafe, and the same rude lady served me with red hair. The first time I thought she was just having a bad day however I came in today too and she chucked the donut I brought in front of me. I understand people may not enjoy their job but there is no need on taking it out on customers.

It was okay, but they ran out of festive pasties!! So I wasn't amused my friend who's disabled was looking forward to having one. But the staff was pleasant enough though very helpful too and especially cleanliness was adered too 100%.

It's a really lovely atmosphere with lots of little nooks to hide away in for a quiet coffee. The place always seems calmer and quieter than other nearby coffee shops. Cleaner too. I live nearby and sneak away here if I'm having a tough day. 😉

I love this place, really old chairs and very comfy sofas. Staff are always amazing and extremely helpful. The tea here is really nice as well, we always find it hard to enjoy nice tea when we drink out but Nero is very good. The fresh baked goodies on display I'd always a nice touch as well

Sat in the sun enjoying a coffee and sandwich on the pavement. It is situated on the busy junction of Wellfield Rd and Albany Rd. and is up to the usual high standard of Caffè Nero.

Ordered a hot choc. No chocolate flavouring, just hot milk. Had 3 sips and tipped down sink. Father ordered cappuccino, and said milk tasted off. Complete Waste of money

A friend of mine had a terrible experience at Caffè Nero on Welfiield Road. After checking with the bank, found he was charged twice and went to complain about this. The staff on duty howeve, didn't care to sort things out or even to apologise. Please be aware of this issue, because there are a lot of people complaining about the same thing.

Every time we go and that barista called Ian is on the till, we have a very bad experience. He is very unfriendly, always mixes up the order and doesn’t know anything about customer service. Nero this barista will bring your business down. He needs major training!

Just off of the Albany Road this is a useful stop for a top up of caffeine. The offerings are standard for Café Nero but the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I know - what's the point in reviewing a chain? The staff, of course. The folks here are excellent - friendly, genuine, always a pleasure to stop by. Might just be a Cardiff thing (gotta love Cardiff!), but even so this place stands out.
